| 2 | Comparison of design of intraocular lens versus the material for PCO prevention显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the influence of different intraocular lens(IOL) designs made of PMMA on posterior capsular opacification(PCO) and compare with foldable designs.· METHODS: Phacoemulsification and IOL implantation was done in one eye of 24 New Zealand White rabbits, with IOL of two different designs (Square edged or round edge) and two different materials(PMMA or HEMA). After three months, the animals were sacrificed and enucleated. Evaluation of PCO included posterior view, migration of anterior capsular epithelial cells to the posterior capsule following epithelial-mesenchymal transition were assessed by staining the histological sections of posterior capsule by hematoxylin-eosin(HE) and Periodic acid- Schiff (PAS). The IOLs were extracted and stained with HE to evaluate the presence of adherent cells on the lens surface. · RESULTS: PCO was highest with round edged rigid lens. | 5 | Clinical outcomes for nasopharyngeal cancer with intracranial extension after taxanebased induction chemotherapy and concurrent chemo-radiotherapy in the modern era显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the survival outcomes for a cohort of nasopharyngeal cancer with intracranial extension(ICE)treated with induction chemotherapy(ICT)followed by chemo-intensity-modulated radiotherapy(CTRT)at a tertiary cancer center.Methods:We retrospectively analyzed 45 patients with histologically proven,non-metastatic NPC with ICE treated at our institute between October 2008 and October 2016.Patients were classified as minor ICE or major ICE,based on the extent of ICE.All the patients received 2-3 cycles of a taxane-based ICT regimen followed by CTRT.Radiotherapy was delivered with'riskadapted'intensity-modulated radiotherapy(IMRT)technique in all patients.Results:After a median follow up of 45 months(range:8-113 months),the estimated 5-year DFS,LRFS,DMFS,and OS of the entire cohort was 58%,82%,67%and 74%respectively.On multivariate analysis,histological subtype was an independent predictor of LRFS,and age was an independent predictor of DFS.The extent of ICE showed only a trend towards worse DFS(P=0.06).None of the factors significantly predicted for DMFS or OS.Gender,N-stage,and response to ICT did not significantly affect any of the outcomes.Grade 2 or worse subcutaneous fibrosis was seen in 22%of patients and grade 2 or worse xerostomia was seen in 24%of patients at last follow up.Thirty-three percent of the patients developed clinical hypothyroidism at last follow up.None of the patients experienced any neurological or vascular complications.Conclusions:Taxane-based induction chemotherapy followed by chemo-intensity modulated radiotherapy resulted in excellent locoregional control and survival with acceptable toxicities in patients of nasopharyngeal cancer with intracranial extension.Distant metastasis continues to be the predominant problem in these patients. | Sarbani Ghosh-Laskar Avinash Pilar Carlton Johnny Kumar Prabhash Amit Joshi Jai Prakash Agarwal Tejpal Gupta Ashwini Budrukkar Vedang Murthy Monali Swain Vanita Noronha Vijay Maruthi Patil Prathamesh Pai Deepa Nair Devendra Arvind Chaukar Shivakumar Thiagarajan Gouri Pantvaidya Anuja Deshmukh Pankaj Chaturvedi Sudhir Nair Anil D’Cruz | 2020 | World Journal of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery2020，6，1： | 1 |

| 18 | Adaptive Execution of Jobs in Computational Grid Environment显示文摘In a computational grid,jobs must adapt to the dynamically changing heterogeneous environment with an objective of maintaining the quality of service.In order to enable adaptive execution of multiple jobs running concurrently in a computational grid,we propose an integrated performance-based resource management framework that is supported by a multi-agent system(MAS).The multi-agent system initially allocates the jobs onto different resource providers based on a resource selection algorithm.Later,during runtime,if performance of any job degrades or quality of service cannot be maintained for some reason(resource failure or overloading),the multi-agent system assists the job to adapt to the system. | 19 | Evolving provenance in the Proterozoic Pranhita-Godavari Basin,India显示文摘The Pranhita-Godavari Basin in central eastern India is one of the Proterozoic 'Purana' basins of cratonic India.New geochronology demonstrates that it has a vast depositional history of repeated basin reactivation from the Palaeoproterozoic to the Mesozoic.U-Pb laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry dating of detrital zircons from two samples of the Somanpalli Group—a member of the oldest sedimentary cycle in the valley-constrains its depositional age to ~1620 Ma and demonstrates a tripartite age provenance with peaks at ~3500 Ma,~2480 Ma and ~1620 Ma,with minor age peaks in the Eoarchaean(~3.8 Ga) and at ~2750 Ma.These ages are consistent with palaeocurrent data suggesting a southerly source from the Krishna Province and Enderby Land in East Antarctica.The similarity in the maximum depositional age with previously published authigenic glauconite ages suggest that the origin of the Pranhita-Godvari Graben originated as a rift that formed at a high angle to the coeval evolving late Meosproterozoic Krishna Province as Enderby Land collided with the Dharwar craton of India.In contrast,detrital zircons from the Cycle III Sullavai Group red sandstones yielded a maximum depositional age of 970±20 Ma and had age peaks of ~2550 Ma,~1600 Ma and then a number of Mesoproterozoic detrital zircons terminating in three analyses at ~970 Ma.The provenance of these is again consistent with a southerly source from the Eastern Ghats Orogen and Antarctica.Later cycles of deposition include the overlying Albaka/Usur Formations and finally the late Palaeozoic to Mesozoic Gondwana Supergroup. | Udeni Amarasinghe Asru Chaudhuri Alan S.Collins Gautam Deb Sarbani Patranabis-Deb | 2015 | Geoscience Frontiers2015，6，3： | 0 |
