4Positive and negative shear lag behaviors of composite twin-girder decks with varying cross-section显示文摘In steel-concrete composite twin-girder decks, wide concrete slab would undergo significant shear lag warping effect, including positive and negative. Some researchers have investigated the positive shear lag of composite decks by means of one-dimensional line model, while the studies on the negative shear lag have not yet been reported until now. In this study, a new one-dimensional analytical model of composite twin-girder decks is first proposed based on the model proposed by Dezi et al. Besides slab shear lag effect and partial connection at slab-girder interface which have been included in the model of Dezi et al., the particularity of the proposed model relies on its ability to account for variation characteristic of cross-section. Verification of the analytical model is later conducted through comparison of results from the analytical analysis and elaborate FE analysis for a simply supported composite deck with increasing depth and a two-span continuous one with decreasing depth. Finally, three kinds of structural forms of composite twin-girder decks, including cantilever, simply supported and continuous decks, are selected to carry out the analysis of positive and negative shear lag behaviors by means of the analytical model. The influences of cross-sectional variation characteristic and load type on positive and negative shear lag behaviors are mainly investigated. Additionally, a new definition on effective width for considering simultaneously positive and negative shear lag behaviors is proposed. The results from the proposed analytical model and EC4 specification are compared to provide suggestions for designers and checkers. 7An Improved Barcoded Oligonucleotide Primers-based Next-generation Sequencing Approach for Direct Identification of Viral Pathogens in Clinical Specimens显示文摘Objective To provide a feasible and cost-effective next-generation sequencing(NGS) method for accurate identification of viral pathogens in clinical specimens, because enormous limitations impede the clinical use of common NGS, such as high cost, complicated procedures, tremendous data analysis, and high background noise in clinical samples. Methods Viruses from cell culture materials or clinical specimens were identified following an improved NGS procedure: reduction of background noise by sample preprocessing, viral enrichment by barcoded oligonucleotide(random hexamer or non-ribosomal hexanucleotide) primer-based amplification, fragmentation-free library construction and sequencing of one-tube mixtures, as well as rapid data analysis using an in-house pipeline. Results NGS data demonstrated that both barcoded primer sets were useful to simultaneously capture multiple viral pathogens in cell culture materials or clinical specimens and verified that hexanucleotide primers captured as many viral sequences as hexamers did. Moreover, direct testing of clinical specimens using this improved hexanucleotide primer-based NGS approach provided further detailed genotypes of enteroviruses causing hand, foot, and mouth disease(HFMD) and identified other potential viruses or differentiated misdiagnosis events. 8Feed conversion ratio,residual feed intake and cholecystokinin type A receptor gene polymorphisms are associated with feed intake and average daily gain in a Chinese local chicken population显示文摘Background: The feed conversion ratio(FCR) and residual feed intake(RFI) are common indexes in measuring feed efficiency for livestock. RFI is a feed intake adjusted for requirements for maintenance and production so these two traits are related. Similarly, FCR is related to feed intake and weight gain because it is their ratio. Cholecystokinin type A receptor(CCKAR) plays an important role in animal digestive process. We examined the interplay of these three parameters in a local Chinese chicken population.Results: The feed intake(FI) and body weights(BW) of 1,841 individuals were monitored on a daily basis from 56 to 105 d of age. There was a strong correlation between RFI and average daily feed intake(ADFI) and a negative correlation between the FCR and daily gain(r_g=-0.710). Furthermore, we identified 51 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) in the CCKAR and 4 of these resulted in amino acid mutations. The C334A mutation was specifically associated with FI and the expected feed intake(EFI)(P < 0.01) and significantly associated with the average daily gain(ADG)(P < 0.05). G1290A was significantly associated with FI and EFI(P < 0.05).Conclusion: FCR is apply to weight selecting, and RFI is more appropriate if the breeding focus is feed intake. 12Model study of relationship between local temperature and artificial heat release显示文摘In recent decades,it presents a more obvious temperature rise in urban area along with the global warming.City is generally the center of human society,so the study on urban temperature variation will be helpful to our city development planning that is to reduce urban warming.The study is also helpful to a more comprehensive understanding of the causes of climate warming,which could provide a theoretical support to the government to make more reasonable international energy policies.Local temperature rise has different mechanisms with the global warming:large quantities of artificial heat release from the energy consumption will stay in urban areas for a period of time,which will inevitably influence the short-term trend of the local temperature change.Based on that view,a structural thermodynamic model was established in this paper to investigate the effect of the artificial heat release on the urban local temperatures.In the model,the city environment was divided into Human,Local,Outer three blocks,and then the heat and temperatures of the blocks were analyzed based on the laws of thermodynamics.After that,the effect of artificial heat release in Human block on the local temperatures was clarified.The model shows that the artificial heat release has an approximately linearly promoting effect on the local temperature rise,and the more the heat release is,the stronger the effect is.In addition,a validation of that model was carried out based on some national statistical data.The data of temperatures and artificial heat release of some provincial capitals of China were analyzed with linear regression extrapolation method and Pearson correlation statistical method.The results show that in most capital cities,the temperature variations basically depend on the artificial heat release in a linear relationship,which usually becomes more apparent with the increase of the artificial heat release in both spatial and temporal dimensions.The conclusions of the statistics have good conformity with the model and the rationality of the model is verified.NIU Qiang NIE ChaoQun LIN Feng LI Ling JI LuCheng 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,3:5
13Primary resistance to crizotinib treatment in a non-small cell lung cancer patient with an EML4-ALK rearrangement:a case report显示文摘Crizotinib,a small molecular tyrosine kinase inhibitor,manifests dramatic responses in patients with non-small cell lung cancer with echinoderm microtubule associated protein like 4-anaplastic lymphoma kinase(EML4-ALK)rearrangements.ALK gene point mutation is the primary mechanism of acquired crizotinib resistance;however,the intrinsic mechanism is not fully understood.Here,we report a patient with a low mutant allele fraction(MAF)of EML4-ALK rearrangement,who experienced primary resistance to crizotinib treatment.The patient was a 66-year-old Chinese man,who had a history of metastatic lung cancer and was treated with first-and third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors(EGFR TKIs).After 14 months of osimertinib treatment,his disease progressed,and next-generation sequencing was performed from a liquid biopsy of the patient’s blood.An EML4-ALK rearrangement was found and crizotinib was administered.The patient’s lung lesions continued to progress after one month of crizotinib treatment,and pemetrexed-bevacizumab was initiated.After two cycles of chemotherapy,the metastatic cancers shrunk,and the patient maintained stable disease at his last follow-up.EML4-ALK rearrangements can happen in patients with EGFR-positive NSCLC,after acquired resistance to EGFR TKI treatment.The EGFR T790M and C797G mutations occur in cis is a critical mechanism of resistance to osimertinib therapy.The MAF of EML4-ALK rearrangements in cancer cells might be a predictive factor for crizotinib treatment.Ling Zhang Yunxia Li Shaohong Zhang Chen Gao Keke Nie Youxin Ji 2018Cancer Biology & Medicine2018,15,2:5
14Surface nanostructures orienting self-protection of an orthodontic nickel-titanium shape memory alloys wire显示文摘Shape memory alloys (SMA) have been applied to a wide variety of applications in a number of different fields such as aeronautical applications, sensors/actuators, medical sciences as well as orthodontics. It is a hot topic to enhance the anti-corrosion ability of orthodontic wires for clinical applications. In this letter, a very nice fractal structure, micro-domains with identical nanometer sized grooves, was ob- tained on the surfaces of the orthodontic wires with an oxygen plasma and acid corrosion. The concave parts of the grooves were dominated by titanium and convex parts were the same as the bulk wires. The micro-nano fractal structure generated a hydrophobic surface with the largest contact angle to water being about 157°. The titanium dominated nanolayer and the hydrophobicity of the surface resulted in jointly the great improvement of the anti-corrosion ability of the orthodontic wires. Because the fractal structures of the wires were formed automatically when they immersed in acidic environment, hence, the self-protection of the oxygen plasma-treated orthodontic wires in acidic environment indicates their potential applications in orthodontics, and should be also inspirable for other applications of SMA materials.NIE Qiong JI ZhuoYu LIN JiuXiang HU WenPing 2007Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,21:4
15Hydrodynamic cavitation as an efficient method for the formation of sub-100 nm O/W emulsions with high stability显示文摘Hydrodynamic cavitation,a newly developed process intensification technique,has demonstrated immense potential for intensifying diverse physical and chemical processes.In this study,hydrodynamic cavitation was explored as an efficient method for the formation of sub-100 nm oil-in-water(O/W) emulsions with high stability.O/W emulsion with an average droplet size of 27 nm was successfully prepared.The average droplet size of O/W emulsions decreased with the increase of the inlet pressure,number of cavitation passes and surfactant concentration.The formed emulsion exhibited admirable physical stability during 8 months.Moreover,the hydrodynamic cavitation method can be generalized to fabricate large varieties of O/W emulsions,which showed great potential for large-scale formation of O/W emulsions with lower energy consumption.Zhiliang Zhang Guangquan Wang Yong Nie Jianbing Ji 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,10:4
16Mantle Branch Structure in the South-Central Segment of the Da Hinggan Mts.,Inner Mongolia and Its Ore-controlling Role显示文摘Mantle branch structure is the third tectonic unit of multiple evolution of a mantle branch. It is not only the main mechanism of intercontinental orogeny, but also an important ore-forming and ore-control structure. Studies on geotectonic evolution, regional geological characteristics and ore-forming and ore-control structures have shown that since the Mesozoic the Da Hinggan Mts. region has entered a typical intercontinental orogenic stage, and it is closely related to mantle branch activities. The south-central segment of the Da Hinggan Mts. is a typical mantle branch structure and possesses obvious magmatic-metamorphic complexes in the core, detachment slip beds in the periphery and overlapped fault depression basins. Moreover, all of these are the principal factors leading to ore formation and ore control in the region. 17Clinical Observation of Bevacizumab Combined with S-1 in the Treatment of Pretreated Advanced Esophageal Carcinoma显示文摘Objective To investigate the clinical effects and safety of bevacizumab combined with S-1 as the second-line treatment of recurrent and/or metastatic esophageal cancer after chemoradiation. Methods Patients with recurrent or metastatic esophageal cancer after chemoradiation were treated with bevacizumab and S-1. Bevacizumab was used by intravenous infusion, 7.5mg/kg body weight on day 1; S-1 was used by oral at 80mg/m^2·d on day 1-14, 21 days as a cycle of treatment and repeated until either progressive disease or intolerable toxicity occurred. Chest CT were performed and RECIST 1.1 was used for response evaluation. Kaplan-Meier method was used for survival analysis. Side effects were recorded and analyzed. Results Totally 78 patients were enrolled in the study, including 67 squamous cell carcinoma and 11 adenocarcinoma histologically. The overall response(CR+PR) rate was 22.4%(17/76) and disease control(CR+PR+SD) rate was 61.8%(47/76) respectively. The median follow-up time was 20 months(range from 9 to 44 months). The median progression-free survival(PFS) was 4.9 months(95% CI 4.4-5.5) and the median overall survival(OS) was 8.1 months(95% CI 7.6-9.2). The median PFS and OS of patients with metastasis diseases were 6.2 months(95% CI 3.3 to 6.3) and 8.5 months(95% CI 5.8 to 11.2), where PFS was longer than that of patients with local regional recurrence(median 5.0 months, 95% CI 3.0 to 5.5, P=0.017) and OS was longer than that of patients with regional disease and metastasis(median 8.0 months, 95% CI 4.6 to 9.5, P=0.010). The common adverse effects were mild to moderate neutropenia(84.2%), grade Ⅰ -Ⅱ hand and foot syndrome(51.3%), grade Ⅰ -Ⅱ nausea(48.7%), mild epistaxis(30.1%) and mild vomiting(14.5%). Esophageal bleeding occurred in 7.9% of patients. One patient(1.3%) died from massive bleeding which was caused by esophageal perforation. 18Sorafenib in Liver Function Impaired Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma显示文摘Objective To explore the efficacy and safty of sorafenib in Child-Pugh class B to class C hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods In this three-center open-label study from November 2011 to May 2013,we randomly assigned 189 patients with advanced Child-Pugh class B or C HCC patients into two groups,one group with 95 patient to receive sorafenib(400 mg a time,twice a day) and the other group with 94 patients to receive best supportive care.The primary end points were progression-free survival and overall survival.Results The median progression-free survival was 2.2 months and 1.9 months in the sorafenib group and best supportive care group respectively(Hazard ratio in the sorafenib group,0.55;95% confidence interval,0.40-0.75;P=0.002).The median overall survival was 4.0 months and 3.5 months in the sorafenib group and best supportive care group respectively(Hazard ratio in the sorafenib group,0.48;95% confidence interval,0.35-0.68;P<0.001).The main adverse effect of sorafenib was rash and acne of the skin(in 51.7% patients).The incidences of severe rash,diarrhea,and dry skin were 5.6%,5.6%,and 2.2% in the sorafenib group.One patient reached partial response in the sorafenib group.Conclusions Sorafenib is safe in patients with liver function impaired advanced HCC.It is effective in terms of progression-free survival and overall survival compared with best supportive care.Liver functions are the important predictive factors.You-xin Ji Zhong-fa Zhang Ke-tao Lan Ke-ke Nie Chuan-xin Geng Shi-chao Liu Ling Zhang Xing-jun Zhuang Xiao Zou Lei Sun Zong-chun Zhang 2014Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2014,29,1:4
19Treatment of Skin Reaction Induced by Nivolumab Combined with Radiotherapy in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer:A Case Report显示文摘Skin reaction or dermatological toxicities induced by immunotherapy is common.It usually manifests skin rash or erythema and can be cured by skin lotion or steroid.Nivolumab,a human IgG4 programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)inhibitor,blocks T cells activation preventing signal and allows the immune system to clear cancer cells.Nivolumab was approved in the second-line therapy in squamous cell lung cancer by FDA,with less than 10%unusual skin reaction,like sensory neuropathy,peeling skin,erythema multiforme,vitiligo,and psoriasis.Radiotherapy could aggravate this skin reaction through inflammatory response and promotion of immunity.The combined treatment of anti-PD-1 and radiotherapy represented a new promising therapeutic approach in many studies,but the risk of side effects may be high.We reported a patient with advanced squamous cell lung cancer who suffered from serious skin immune-related adverse events when he was treated with nivolumab and radiotherapy.The immune overreaction of the treatment of anti-PD-1 treatment and radiotherapy might cause these serious skin adverse events.Our report warranted careful workup to reduce the risk of side effects by combinative therapy with anti-PD-1 and radiotherapy.Zhimei Zhao Shichao Liu Xiajuan Xu Zhongfa Zhang Keke Nie Youxin Ji 2018Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2018,33,3:3
