2Coagulation behavior and floc properties of compound bioflocculant–polyaluminum chloride dual-coagulants and polymeric aluminum in low temperature surface water treatment显示文摘This study was intended to compare coagulation behavior and floc properties of two dualcoagulants polyaluminum chloride–compound bioflocculant(PAC–CBF)(PAC dose first) and compound bioflocculant–polyaluminum chloride(CBF–PAC)(CBF dose first) with those of PAC alone in low temperature drinking water treatment. Results showed that dualcoagulants could improve DOC removal efficiency from 30% up to 34%. Moreover, CBF contributed to the increase of floc size and growth rate, especially those of PAC–CBF were almost twice bigger than those of PAC. However, dual-coagulants formed looser and weaker flocs with lower breakage factors in which fractal dimension of PAC–CBF flocs was low which indicates a looser floc structure. The floc recovery ability was in the following order:PAC–CBF > PAC alone > CBF–PAC. 3Preparation and Bloating Mechanism of Porous Ultra-lightweight Ceramsite by Dehydrated Sewage Sludge and Yellow River Sediments显示文摘To solve the disposal problems of solid wastes, dehydrated sewage sludge and Yellow River sediments were tested as components for production of ultra-lightweight ceramsite. The effects of Yellow River sediments addition on the characteristics of ceramsite were investigated. Ceramsite with different Yellow River sediments additions was characterized using thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, morphological structures analyses, pore size distributions and porosity analyses. Chemical components, especially ratios of Si O2 + Al2O3/Flux, were used to explain the glassy shell formation, physical properties and pores distribution of ultralightweight ceramsite; physical forces for instance expansion force and frictional resistance which combined with Si O2 + Al2O3/Flux ratios were used to explain the bloating mechanism. Results showed that the maximum addition of Yellow River sediments for making ultra-lightweight ceramsite was 35%. Macropores(between 0.226 μm and 0.554 μm) of ultra-lightweight ceramsite were dominant in the pore structures of ultra-lightweight ceramsite and its porosity was up to 67.7%. Physical force of expansion force was constant with the variation of Yellow River sediments content and physical force of frictional resistance was decreased with the increase of Yellow River sediments addition. The relationship between expansion and frictional resistance could determine the expansion rate of ceramsite. Larger pores inside the ceramsite bodies could be obtained as Yellow River sediments additions ranged from 10% to 30%. Ceramsite with higher Yellow River sediments additions of 40%(Si O2 + Al2O3/Flux ratios 4.25) became denser and have lower porosity. 5800 Gbit/s transmission over 1 km single-mode fiber using a four-channel silicon photonic transmitter显示文摘We demonstrate the optical transmission of an 800 Gbit/s(4×200 Gbit/s)pulse amplitude modulation-4(PAM-4)signal and a 480 Gbit/s(4×120 Gbit/s)on–off-keying(OOK)signal by using a high-bandwidth(BW)silicon photonic(SiP)transmitter with the aid of digital signal processing(DSP).In this transmitter,a four-channel SiP modulator chip is co-packaged with a four-channel driver chip,with a measured 3 dB BW of 40 GHz.DSP is applied in both the transmitter and receiver sides for pre-/post-compensation and bit error rate(BER)calculation.Back-to-back(B2B)BERs of the PAM-4 signal and OOK signal are first measured for each channel of the transmitter with respect to a variety of data rates.Similar BER performance of four channels shows good uniformity of the transmitter between different channels.The BER penalty of the PAM-4 and OOK signals for 500 m and 1 km standard single-mode fiber(SSMF)transmission is then experimentally tested by using one channel of the transmitter.For a 200 Gbit/s PAM-4 signal,the BER is below the hard-decision forward error correction(HD-FEC)threshold for B2B and below the soft-decision FEC(SD-FEC)threshold after 1 km transmission.For a 120 Gbit/s OOK signal,the BER is below SD-FEC threshold for B2B.After 500 m and 1 km transmission,the data rate of the OOK signal shrinks to 119 Gbit/s and 118 Gbit/s with the SD-FEC threshold,respectively.Finally,the 800 Gbit/s PAM-4 signal with 1 km transmission is achieved with the BER of all four channels below the SD-FEC threshold.Hongguang Zhang Miaofeng Li Yuguang Zhang Di Zhang Qiwen Liao Jian He Shenglei Hu Bo Zhang Lei Wang Xi Xiao Nan Qi Shaohua Yu 2020Photonics Research2020,8,11:5
6MODIS observations of water color of the largest 10 lakes in China between 2000 and 2012显示文摘Forel-Ule(FU)index of water color is an important parameter in traditional water quality investigations.We retrieved the FU index of the largest 10 lakes in China during 2000-2012 from MODerate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer surface reflectance product(MOD09)images.Since FU index is an optical parameter,it can be derived from optical remote sensing data by direct formulas,which is invariant with region and season.Based on validation by in situ measured reflectance data,the FU index products are reliable,with average relative error of 7.7%.FU index can be used to roughly assess water clarity:the clearer a water body is,and the bluer it is in color,the smaller its FU index is.FU index can also be used to roughly classify trophic state into three classes:oligotrophic,mesotrophic,and eutrophic.We analyzed the spatial,interannual,and seasonal variations of the FU index and its implications for water clarity and trophic state,and the findings are mostly consistent with the results from related literature.All in all,it might be a feasible way to roughly assess inland water quality by FU index in large region and over long time period.Junsheng Li Shenglei Wang Yanhong Wu Bing Zhang Xiaoling Chen Fangfang Zhang Qian Shen Dailiang Peng Liqiao Tian 2016International Journal of Digital Earth2016,9,8:5
7Investigation of β-Ga2O3 films and β-Ga2O3/GaN heterostructures grown by metal organic chemical vapor deposition显示文摘In this work,(-201)β-Ga2O3 films are grown on GaN substrate by metal organic chemical vapor deposition(MOCVD).It is revealed that theβ-Ga2O3 film grown on GaN possesses superior crystal quality,material homogeneity and surface morphology than the results of common heteroepitaxialβ-Ga2O3 film based on sapphire substrate.Further,the relevance between the crystal quality of epitaxialβ-Ga2O3 film and theβ-Ga2O3/GaN interface behavior is investigated.Transmission electron microscopy result indicates that the interface atom refactoring phenomenon is beneficial to relieve the mismatch strain and improve the crystal quality of subsequentβ-Ga2O3 film.Moreover,the energy band structure ofβ-Ga2O3/GaN heterostructure grown by MOCVD is investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and a large conduction band offset of 0.89 eV is obtained.The results in this work not only convincingly demonstrate the advantages ofβ-Ga2O3 films grown on GaN substrate,but also show the great application potential of MOCVDβ-Ga2O3/GaN heterostructures in microelectronic applications.YaChao Zhang YiFan Li ZhiZhe Wang Rui Guo ShengRui Xu ChuanYang Liu ShengLei Zhao JinCheng Zhang Yue Hao 2020Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,11:2
8Advanced lignin-acrylamide water treatment agent by pulp and paper industrial sludge: Synthesis, properties and application显示文摘A novel flocculant LA(lignin-acrylamide polymer), which was used as aid for aluminum sulfate and polyaluminum chloride in this study, was prepared by grafting acrylamide onto lignin that deriving from pulp and papermaking sludge. Physicochemical properties of LA were measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The experimental outcome indicated acrylamide was grafted onto the lignin backbone successfully. The efects of LA addition were evaluated on coagulation performance and floc characteristics as a function of aluminum(Al) dosage, such as floc size, growth rate, strength and recoverability. Efects of diferent dosing sequences, Al dosed first and LA dosed first, were also investigated. LA used as coagulant aid markedly enhanced the removal efciency of turbidity and dissolved organic carbon, especially at low Al dosages. The dissolved organic carbon removal efciencies of aluminum sulfate and polyaluminum chloride at the Al dosage range selected in this study were improved more than 30% and 5% by LA, respectively. LA dramatically enlarged floc size and it was in the order: Al dosed first > LA dosed first > Al. Floc strength and recoverability were also improved by LA. 9Steady increase in water clarity in Jiaozhou Bay in the Yellow Sea from 2000 to 2018:Observations from MODIS显示文摘The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)surface reflectance data were used to analyze the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of water clarity(Z_(sd))in the Jiaozhou Bay,Qingdao,China,in the Yellow Sea from 2000 to 2018.Z_(sd)retrieval models were regionally optimized using in-situ data with coincident MODIS images,and then were used to retrieve the Z_(sd) products in Jiaozhou Bay from 2000-2018.The analysis of the Z_(sd) results suggests that the spatial distribution of relative Z_(sd) spatial characteristics in Jiaozhou Bay was stable,being higher Z_(sd) in the southeast and a lower Z_(sd) in the northwest.The annual mean Z_(sd) in Jiaozhou Bay showed a significant upward trend,with an annual increase of approximately 0.02 m.Water depth and wind speed were important factors affecting the spatial distribution and annual variation of Z_(sd) in Jiaozhou Bay,respectively.Ziyao YIN Junsheng LI Jue HUANG Shenglei WANG Fangfang ZHANG Bing ZHANG 2021Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,3:2
10Design and simulation of reverse-blocking Schottky-drain AlN/AlGaN HEMTs with drain field plate显示文摘In this paper,Schottky-drain reverse-blocking Al N/Al Ga N HEMTs with drain field plate(FP)have been investigated by Silvaco-ATLAS tools.For HEMTs without FP,with the increase of Al mole fraction in Al Ga N channel from 0 to 0.5,the reverse-blocking voltage increases from-158 V to-720 V.By using the drain field plate technique,a second electric field peak is introduced and the reverse-blocking voltage can be improved.Combined with the optimization of the Si N passivation thickness,optimal electric field management can be achieved to obtain the highest reverse-blocking voltage devices.Since HEMTs with different Al mole fractions possess different critical electric field values,the optimal Si N thickness are varied.With the increase of the Al mole fraction from 0 to 0.5,the reverse-blocking voltage increases from-510 V to-4500 V for HEMTs using drain FP and optimal Si N passivation thickness,and a high power figure-of-merit of 1.171 GW/cm^(2)is achieved.Al Ga N channel HEMTs with Al mole fraction demonstrate great potential for power applications.Dujun ZHAO Zhaoxi WU Chao DUAN Bo MEI Zhongyang LI Zhongxu WANG Qing TANG Qing YANG Yinhe WU Weihang ZHANG Zhihong LIU Shenglei ZHAO Jincheng ZHANG Yue HAO 2022Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,2:1

13SAR Tomography with Improved Non-Local Means Filtering Based on Adaptive Window显示文摘In order to mitigate speckle noise in synthetic aperture radar(SAR)images and enhance the accuracy of SAR tomography,non-local means(NL-means)filtering has been proven to be an effective method for improving the quality of SAR interferograms.Apart from considerations like noise type and the definition of similarity,the size and shape of filtering windows are critical factors influencing the efficacy of NL-means filtering,yet there has been limited research on this aspect.This paper introduces an enhanced NL-means filtering method based on adaptive windows,allowing for the automatic adjustment of filtering window size according to the amplitude information of the SAR interferogram.Simultaneously,a directional window is incorporated to align SAR interferograms,achieving the dual objective of preserving filtering standards and retaining detailed information.Experimental results on interferogram filtering and tomography,based on TerraSAR-X data,demonstrate that the proposed method effectively reduces phase noise while maintaining texture accuracy,thereby improving tomography quality.Shenglei Wang Zhiyang Chen Yuanhao Li Cheng Hu 2023Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2023,32,6:0
14The effects of plant resource inputs on the energy flux of soil nematodes are affected by climate and plant resource type显示文摘The relative abundance of different components of the soil food web can vary tremendously in response to plant resource inputs.However,little is known about the mechanisms that plant resource regulates the energy fluxes and soil community composition.Here,we experimentally reduced litter and root inputs for two years in China at low-,mid-,and high-latitude forests to explore the effects of plant-derived resource inputs on the nematode energy flux and community composition.Litter reduction at high and mid latitudes and root removal at low latitudes reduced nematode richness but did not alter nematode abundance.Besides,litter reduction reduced energy fluxes of bacterial-feeding nematodes at mid latitudes and energy fluxes of plant-feeding,bacterial-feeding and omnivorous-predatory nematodes at low latitudes,thus reducing the energy fluxes of total nematodes in mid-and low-latitude forests.By contrast,root removal reduced energy fluxes and relative energy flux of plant-feeding nematodes in high-and low-latitude forests.In most cases,nematode diversity in different trophic groups increased with increasing energy flux to nematodes.Taken together,our results suggest that the effects of plant resource inputs on nematode energy flux are affected by climate and plant resource type,which improves our understanding of plant-soil interactions.LINA ZHAO BINBIN YU MENGMENG WANG Jie Zhang Zhifeng Shen Yang Cui Junyong Li Ji Ye Weizhong Zu Xiaojing Liu Zongji Fan Shenglei Fu Yuanhu Shao 2021Soil Ecology Letters2021,3,2:0
15SERBP1 Promotes Stress Granule Clearance by Regulating 26S Proteasome Activity and G3BP1 Ubiquitination and Protects Male Germ Cells from Thermostimuli Damage显示文摘Stress granules(SGs)are membraneless cytoplasmic condensates that dynamically assemble in response to various stressors and reversibly disassemble after stimulus removal;however,the mechanisms underlying SG dynamics and their physiological roles in germ cell development are elusive.Here,we show that SERBP1(SERPINE1 mRNA binding protein 1)is a universal SG component and conserved regulator of SG clearance in somatic and male germ cells.SERBP1 interacts with the SG core component G3BP1 and 26S proteasome proteins PSMD10 and PSMA3 and recruits them to SGs.In the absence of SERBP1,reduced 20S proteasome activity,mislocalized valosin containing protein(VCP)and Fas associated factor family member 2(FAF2),and diminished K63-linked polyubiquitination of G3BP1 during the SG recovery period were observed.Interestingly,the depletion of SERBP1 in testicular cells in vivo causes increased germ cell apoptosis upon scrotal heat stress.Accordingly,we propose that a SERBP1-mediated mechanism regulates 26S proteasome activity and G3BP1 ubiquitination to facilitate SG clearance in both somatic and germ cell lines.Fengli Wang Lingjuan Wang Shiming Gan Shenglei Feng Sijin Ouyang Xiaoli Wang Shuiqiao Yuan 2023Research2023,,4:0
16Nitrogen deposition suppresses fungal biomass and oxidase activity in faeces of the millipede Spirobolus formosae in a temperate forest显示文摘Atmospheric nitrogen(N)deposition has increased dramatically since the industrial revolution due to human activities.In terrestrial ecosystems,excess nitrogen inputs can greatly affect soil chemical properties,plant growth,and activities of soil microbes and fauna.Millipedes can fragment and consume large quantities of litter,and they regulate nutrient cycling and affect soil fertility through excretion of faeces.Many soil fauna graze on the faeces of millipedes as a part of the soil food web.The decomposition and stabilization of these millipede faeces are especially important in soil carbon dynamics and nutrient cycling,and these processes rely heavily upon microbial activity.However,very few studies have investigated how microbial community structure and oxidase activity of millipede faeces respond to climate change,especially N deposition.Therefore,we designed a microcosm study to investigate this question,which included two treatments,N addition treatment and control(without N addition).We found that:(i)microbial community structure in millipede faeces was altered and the biomass of fungi and actinomycetes in faecal pellets were significantly reduced after N addition,but bacteria still dominated in millipede faeces after N addition,(ii)oxidase activity was suppressed in response to N addition,and(iii)microbial community structure and oxidase activities were significantly correlated to organic carbon and dissolved total nitrogen of faeces.All these changes suggest that millipede excretion activities under nitrogen deposition contribute to carbon stabilization and reduction in greenhouse gas emission owing to the significant role of fungi and associated oxidase in carbon mineralization.It is noteworthy to pay more attention to the function of saprotrophic invertebrates in future N deposition studies.Mengru Wang Shenglei Fu Hongzhi Zhang Meina Wang Haixiang Xu Leilei Shi 2019Soil Ecology Letters2019,1,1:0
17Spatiotemporal variation of cyanobacterial harmful algal blooms in China based on literature and media information显示文摘Cyanobacterial harmful algal blooms(CyanoHABs)in inland waters are now among the most pressing environmental issues worldwide,especially in China.Satellite remote sensing has limitations in monitoring CyanoHABs in small water bodies due to spatial and temporal resolution limitations.While literature and news media have the potential to supplement satellite remote sensing in monitoring CyanoHABs,they have currently not received sufficient attention.In this study,we combined information on the distributions of CyanoHABs from literature and media for the first time to comprehensively assess the spatiotemporal variation in CyanoHABs in China.We collected,cleaned,validated,and organized data from literature and media on CyanoHABs in China,resulting in the establishment of a comprehensive database on CyanoHABs in China's inland waters(ChinaCyanoDB)covering 198 water bodies,525 records for 1950-2021.The majority of water bodies with CyanoHABs(CyanoWaters)are located in the eastern China,mainly concentrated in the middle and lower Yangtze region,with a clear upward trend in their number over the last four decades.The ChinaCyanoDB and analytical results can provide valuable data support for monitoring and managing CyanoHABs in China while the database construction method may also be applied to other countries and regions.Yichen Du Chen Wang Mengqiu Wang Huan Zhao Kai Yan Yunchang Mu Wenzhi Zhang Fangfang Zhang Shenglei Wanga Junsheng Li 2023International Journal of Digital Earth2023,16,1:0
18Investigation of heavy ion irradiation effects on 650-V p-GaN normally-off HEMTs显示文摘In this study,we investigate heavy ion irradiation effects on commercial 650 V p-GaN normallyoff HEMTs.Ge and Cl ions are used to irradiate the GaN devices in the experiments.Ge and Cl ion beam irradiation have little impact on the output characteristics of GaN devices.After heavy ion irradiation,the leakage currents between source and drain electrodes increase significantly under off-state,decreasing the breakdown voltage(BVDS)sharply.Additionally,Ge and Cl ion irradiation have little effect on the trap states under the gate electrode;thus,the gate leakage currents increase slightly.Many line-shaped crystal defects extending from the surface to the GaN buffer layer can be captured using a transmission electron microscope after Ge/Cl ion irradiation.The buffer layers of the irradiated devices were damaged,and the leakage path was generated in the buffer layer.Defect percolation process in buffer layer is the dominant factor of irradiated high-voltage GaN device failure.Yinhe WU Jincheng ZHANG Shenglei ZHAO Zhaoxi WU Zhongxu WANG Bo MEI Chao DUAN Dujun ZHAO Weihang ZHANG Zhihong LIU Yue HAO 2022Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,8:0
