4Evaluation of seed production in a first-generation seed orchard of Chinese pine (Pinus tabuliformis)显示文摘We evaluated seed production in a first-generation orchard of Chinese pine(Pinus tabuliformis) during the crucial transition period from first generation to advanced generations.Clones varied significantly in all traits related to seed production.Repeatability of these traits ranged from 0 to 0.96.Seed production per ramet(SPPR),seed producing index(SPI),the number of relative female strobili(RFS),the number of scales,and the number of ineffective scales had comparatively high repeatability at 0.86,0.87,0.89,0.96,and 0.91,respectively.Correlation analysis showed that SPPR was greatly influenced by RFS and by the number of full seeds per cone.Finally,we showed that SPI was the best predictor of the seed-producing ability of clones.Our findings will assist seed orchard managers in effectively predicting and improving seed production of Chinese pine seed orchards.Huwei Yuan Shihui Niu Xianqing Zhou Qingping Du Yue Li Wei Li 2016Journal of Forestry Research2016,27,5:4

7Late Mesozoic rifting and its deep dynamic mechanisms in the central Sulu orogenic belt: Records from Lingshan Island显示文摘The Lingshan Island scientific drill confirms that two episodes(Laiyang period and Qingshan period) of rifting developed in the central Sulu orogenic belt(SOB) in Late Mesozoic. With a set of methods including fieldwork, drilling, core logging, zircon U-Pb dating and whole rock geochemistry applied, the age, the depositional sequence and the deep dynamic mechanisms of rift evolution were unraveled. The stratigraphic sequence of the Laiyang-Qingshan Groups on Lingshan Island was composed of two different rifting sequences:(1) Laiyang Group(147–125 Ma), which consists of deep-water gravity flow deposits with interlayers of intermediate volcanic rocks;and(2) Lower Qingshan Group(125–119 Ma), which unconformably overlies the former sequence and contains subaerial volcanic deposits and terrestrial deposits. The tectonic environment changed during the evolution of these two episodes of rifting: the rift was in a NNW-SSE extensional environment in the Laiyang period and showed the typical passive rifting character that “lithospheric extension and rifting preceded volcanism”. The passive rifting period was ended by a short WNW-ESE compression at about 125 Ma. After that, the tectonic environment transferred to a strong NW-SE extensional environment and the rifting evolved into a volcanic arc basin in the Qingshan period. The igneous rocks are shoshonitic to high-K calc-alkaline trachyandesites to trachytes with a few intercalated lamprophyres and a rhyolite.The geochemical characteristics of the igneous rocks indicate that they are mantle-derived melts with a metasomatized mantle source and/or crustal contamination. In addition, an increased thinning of the lithosphere happened during the rifting episodes.The low-angle subduction of the Paleo-Pacific plate in the Jurassic weakened the thickened SOB lithospheric mantle. The rollback of the subducting plate started in late Jurassic to early Cretaceous, and the SOB lithospheric mantle was delaminated synchronously because of the gravity collapse. Thus, this caused passive rifting in the Laiyang period. Thereafter, the rollback and trench retreat of the high-angle subducting Paleo-Pacific plate would have achieved its climax, resulting in the strong regional extension. Passive rifting was ended by the crustal uplift caused by asthenospheric upwelling beneath the rift. The lower crust was heated by the upwelling asthenosphere and partially melted to form felsic melts, which were emplaced upwards and erupted explosively. The rift evolved into a volcanic arc basin in the Qingshan period and showed some characteristics of active rifting. Above all, a passive rifting in the Laiyang period and a volcanic arc basin in the Qingshan period developed successively in the Lingshan Island area(the central SOB). This records the transfer of the study area from the Paleo-Tethys tectonic domain to the circum-Pacific tectonic domain. The delamination of SOB lithospheric mantle and the upwelling of asthenospheric material were the deep dynamic mechanisms driving the development and evolution of two rift episodes. 8NK cells play a significant role in immunosurveillance at the early stage of MLL-AF9 acute myeloid leukemia via CD226/CD155 interactions显示文摘Acute myeloid leukemia(AML) is an aggressive hematological malignancy, and the mechanism underlying immune system involvement in leukemia development is unclear. In the present study, we utilized a myeloid/lymphoid or mixed-lineage leukemia; translocated to, 3(MLLT3/MLL-AF9)-induced AML mouse model with or without exposure to irradiation. We found that the leukemia cells could survive and expand in hosts with intact immune systems, whereas leukemia progression was accelerated in mice with impaired immune systems. Moreover, the leukemia cells escaped from host immunosurveillance via editing their immunogenicity, including the up-regulation of an inhibitory antigen(i.e., CD47) and the down-regulation of active antigens(i.e., CD86, CD54, retinoic acid early transcript(RAE), histocompatibility 2, D region locus b(H2-Db) and H2-Dd). Natural killer(NK) cells were activated in the early phase of AML progression, whereas T cells were stimulated in the late phase. Furthermore, NK cell depletion showed that NK cells were necessary for the elimination of leukemia cells in our AML mouse model. Notably, CD155/CD226 primarily mediated the interaction between NK cells and leukemia cells and contributed to the antitumor effects of NK cells during the early phase of AML. Clinical data from patients with diverse hematological malignancies showed that CD155 expression was decreased in hematological malignancies. 9A consistency improving method in the analytic hierarchy process based on directed circuit analysis显示文摘Test of consistency is critical for the analytic hierarchy process(AHP) methodology. When a pairwise comparison matrix(PCM) fails the consistency test, the decision maker(DM) needs to make revisions. The state of the art focuses on changing a single entry or creating a new matrix based on the original inconsistent matrix so that the modified matrix can satisfy the consistency requirement. However, we have noticed that the reason that causes inconsistency is not only numerical inconsistency, but also logical inconsistency, which may play a more important role in the whole inconsistency. Therefore, to realize satisfactory consistency, first of all, we should change some entries that form a directed circuit to make the matrix logically consistent, and then adjust other entries within acceptable deviations to make the matrix numerically consistent while preserving most of the original comparison information. In this paper, we firstly present some definitions and theories, based on which two effective methods are provided to identify directed circuits. Four optimization models are proposed to adjust the original inconsistent matrix. 10Molecular Cloning,Bioinformatics Analysis and Transcriptional Expression of Virulence-related Gene(exsA)of Vibrio alginolyticus显示文摘[Objectives]The purpose was to investigate the function and mechanism of exsA gene in type III secretion system of Vibrio alginolyticus.[Methods]The full length of exsA was cloned using molecular biology techniques to analyze its biological information.Fluorescence quantitative PCR technology was used to analyze the expression of exsA after different media stress.[Results]The exsA gene contains an open reading frame(ORF)of 861 bp,encoding 286 amino acids.The physico-chemical analysis shows that the molecular structural formula is C1442H2267N393O441S12,the theoretical molecular weight is 32.549 kD,the theoretical pI value is 6.0,and the protein is non-hydrophilic and unstable.The gene does not contain a transmembrane region,and there is no obvious signal peptide.The prediction result of protein subcellular localization shows that the protein is inside the cell.The deduced amino acid sequence and constructed phylogenetic tree show that V.alginolyticus has a close relationship with Vibrio antiquarius.The qPCR results show that the expression level of exsA in different media is different,highest in TSB medium containing bile salts,followed by DMEM medium,and lowest in ordinary TSB medium.[Conclusions]The gene sequence,molecular structure and isoelectric point of exsA,as well as its expression in three different media were obtained.Weijie ZHANG Liangchuan CHEN Lin LIN Shihui ZHOU Zihao HE Yanqiu LIANG Huanying PANG 2021Asian Agricultural Research2021,13,1:2
11Strength-increase mechanism and microstructural characteristics of a biotreated geomaterial显示文摘Microbially induced calcite precipitation(MICP)is a recently proposed method that is environmentally friendly and has considerable potential applications in artificial biotreated geomaterials.New artificial biotreated geomaterials are produced based on the MICP technology for different parent soils.The purpose of this study is to explore the strength-increase mechanism and microstmctural characteristics of the biotreated geomaterial through a series of experiments.The results show that longer mineralization time results in higher-strength biotreated geomaterial.The strength growth rate rapidly increases in the beginning and remains stable afterwards.The calcium ion content significantly increases with the extended mineralization time.When standard sand was used as a parent soil,the calcium ion content increased to a factor of 39 after 7 days.The bacterial cells with attached calcium ions serve as the nucleus of crystallization and fill the pore space.When fine sand was used as a parent soil,the calcium ion content increased to only a factor of 7 after 7 days of mineralization.The nucleus of crystallization could not normally grow because of the limited pore space.The porosity and variation in porosity are clearly affected by the parent soil.Therefore,the strength of the biotreated geomaterial is affected by the parent soil properties,mineralization time,and granular material pore space.This paper provides a basis for theory and experiments for biotreated geomaterials in future engineering practice.Chi LI Siriguleng BAI Tuanjie ZHOU Hanlong LIU Xiao QIN Shihui LIU Xiaoying LIU Yang XIAO 2020Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2020,14,3:2
12The key environmental factors driving the succession of phytoplankton functional groups in Hongfeng Reservoir, southwest China显示文摘Reservoirs are an important water source in many densely populated areas in southwest China.Phytoplankton play an essential role in maintaining the structure and function of reservoir ecosystems.Understanding the succession in phytoplankton communities and the factors driving it are essential for eff ective water quality management in drinking water reservoirs.In this study,water samples were collected monthly at the surface layers from March 2016 to December 2019 in Hongfeng Reservoir,southwest China.The relationship between functional group succession was analyzed based on nonmetric multidimensional scaling analysis(NMDS),redundancy analysis(RDA),succession rate,and other analysis methods.The results showed distinct shifts in the community structure of phytoplankton functional groups within study period.The Cyclotella sp.was dominant in 2016 and 2017,and Pseudanabaena limnetica was the dominant group in 2018 and 2019.It appears that the phytoplankton composition and biomass are closely related to the water temperature and nutrient status in this reservoir.The results clearly showed that the permanganate index(COD_(Mn))was the key factor of dramatic phytoplankton functional group succession,and the change in succession rates was closely caused by total nitrogen concentration(TN).Therefore,the succession pattern and key factors of Hongfeng Reservoir revealed in this study were important guidance for the management of drinking water reservoirs in southwest China.A reasonable limit on exogenous nutrient input should be a priority,especially in high water temperature period.Libin HAN Qiuhua LI Wensheng CHEN Xing WANG Shihui ZHOU Mengshu HAN Anton BRANCELJ 2022Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,4:2
