| 1 | Oscillation propagation features of the atmosphere around the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau during the spring season of typical strong and weak monsoon years显示文摘The interaction between the low-frequency atmospheric oscillation(Madden-Julian Oscillation,MJO) and the diabatic heating over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau(QXP) from March to June is analyzed.The results show that there are respectively two and one wave trains around the QXP during the onset of the South China Sea monsoon in strong and weak monsoon years.The locations and strength of the wave train propagation differ between the strong and weak monsoon years.Because diabatic heating of the QXP prevents the low-frequency oscillation,the wave train of interaction between the diabatic heating and the zonal wind MJO propagates along the west and east of the QXP in the strong monsoon years.The distribution of the wave train interaction between the diabatic heating and the zonal wind MJO traverses the QXP and coincides with the location of the southern and northern upper-level jet streams,showing that they are remarkably correlated.An interesting and notable phenomenon is that the interaction between diabatic heating and the zonal wind MJO over the QXP suddenly disappears during the monsoon onset in weak monsoon years. | WANG ChengHai CUI Yang JIN ShuangLong | 2011 | Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,2: | 7 |
| 2 | Specification and Verification of a Topology-Aware Access Control Model for Cyber-Physical Space显示文摘The cyber-physical space is a spatial environment that integrates the cyber and physical worlds to provide an intelligent environment for users to conduct their day-to-day activities. Mobile users and mobile objects are ubiquitous in this space, thereby exerting tremendous pressure on its security model. This model must ensure that both cyber and physical objects are always handled securely in this dynamic environment. In this paper,we propose a systematic solution to be able to specify security policies of the cyber-physical space and ensure that security requirements hold in these policies. We first formulate a topology configuration model to capture the topology characteristics of the cyber and physical worlds. Then, based on this model, a Topology-Aware CyberPhysical Access Control model(TA-CPAC) is proposed, which can ensure the security of the cyber and physical worlds at the same time by adjusting permission assignment dynamically. Then, the topology configuration and TA-CPAC models are formalized by bigraphs and Bigraph Reactive System(BRS), respectively, allowing us to use model checking to rationalize the consequences of the evolution of topological configurations on the satisfaction of security requirements. | 4 | Recent development of efficient electrocatalysts derived from porous organic polymers for oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘Porous organic polymers(POPs) have recently emerged as promising candidates for catalyzing oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Compared to conventional Pt-based ORR catalysts, these newly developed porous materials, including both non-precious metal based catalysts and metal-free catalysts, are more sustainable and cost-effective. Their porous structures and large surface areas facilitate mass and electron transport and boost the ORR kinetics. This mini-review will give a brief summary of recent development of POPs as electrocatalysts for the ORR. | 5 | Microbial community structure analyses and cultivable denitrifier isolation of Myriophyllum aquaticum constructed wetland under low C/N ratio显示文摘With the rapid expansion of livestock production,the amount of livestock wastewater accumulated rapidly.Lack of biodegradable organic matter makes denitrification of livestock wastewater after anaerobic digestion more difficult.In this study,Myriophyllum aquaticum constructed wetlands(CWs)with efficient nitrogen removal performance were established under different carbon/nitrogen(C/N)ratios.Analysis of community composition reveals the change of M.aquaticum CWs in microbial community structure with C/N ratios.The proportion of Proteobacteria which is one of the dominant phyla among denitrifier communities increased significantly under low C/N ratio conditions.Besides,to obtain cultivable denitrifier that could be added into CWs in situ,33 strains belonging to phylum Proteobacteria were isolated from efficient M.aquaticum CWs,while the best-performing denitrification strain M3-1 was identified as Bacillus velezensis JT3-1(GenBank No.CP032506.1).Redundancy analysis and quadratic models showed that C/N ratio had significant effects on disposal of nitrate(NO_(3)^(−)-N)and the strains isolated could perform well in denitrification when C/N ratio is relatively low.In addition,they have relatively wide ranges of carbon sources,temperature and a high NO_(3)^(−)removal rate of 9.12 mg/(L·hr)at elevated concentrations of 800 mg/L nitrate.Thus,strains isolated from M.aquaticum CWs with low C/N ratio have a practical application value in the treatment of nitrate-containing wastewater.These denitrifying bacteria could be added to CWs to enhance nitrogen removal efficiency of CWs for livestock wastewater with low C/N ratio in the future. | Jialiang Zuo Lina Xu Jianlin Guo Shengjun Xu Shuanglong Ma Cancan Jiang Dongmin Yang Danhua Wang Xuliang Zhuang | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,5: | 2 |

| 8 | Towards efficient deep neural network training by FPGA-based batch-level parallelism显示文摘Training deep neural networks(DNNs)requires a significant amount of time and resources to obtain acceptable results,which severely limits its deployment in resource-limited platforms.This paper proposes DarkFPGA,a novel customizable framework to efficiently accelerate the entire DNN training on a single FPGA platform.First,we explore batch-level parallelism to enable efficient FPGA-based DNN training.Second,we devise a novel hardware architecture optimised by a batch-oriented data pattern and tiling techniques to effectively exploit parallelism.Moreover,an analytical model is developed to determine the optimal design parameters for the DarkFPGA accelerator with respect to a specific network specification and FPGA resource constraints.Our results show that the accelerator is able to perform about 10 times faster than CPU training and about a third of the energy consumption than GPU training using 8-bit integers for training VGG-like networks on the CIFAR dataset for the Maxeler MAX5 platform. | Cheng Luo Man-Kit Sit Hongxiang Fan Shuanglong Liu Wayne Luk Ce Guo | 2020 | Journal of Semiconductors2020,41,2: | 2 |

| 10 | One-pot pyrolysis synthesis of highly active Ru/RuOx nanoclusters for water splitting显示文摘Using simple methods to obtain efficient catalysts has been a long-standing goal for researchers.In this work,the employment of a one-pot pyrolysis reaction to achieve molecular confinement,has led to the preparation of ruthenium(Ru)-based nanoclusters in a carbon matrix.A unique feature of the synthetic approach employed is that solvent and substrates were calcined together.As solvent evaporates,during calcination,the substrates form a dense solid which has the effect of limiting the aggregation of Ru centers during the carbonization process.The catalyst prepared in this simple manner showed an impressively high activity with respect to the hydrogen/oxygen evolution reaction(HER/OER).The Ru nanoclusters(Ru NCs),as the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)catalysts,require ultralow overpotentials of 5 mV and 5.1 mV at-10 mA·cm^(-2) in 1.0 M KOH,and 0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4),respectively.Furthermore,the catalyst prepared by the one-pot method has higher crystallinity,a higher Ru content and an ultrafine cluster size,which contributes to its exceptional electrochemical performance.Meanwhile,the RuO_(x) nanoclusters(RuO_(x) NCs),obtained by oxidizing the aforementioned Ru NCs,exhibited good oxygen evolution reaction(OER)performance with an overpotential of 266 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2).When applied to overall water splitting,Ru/RuO_(x) nanoclusters as the cathode and anode catalysts can reach 10 mA·cm^(-2) at cell voltages of only 1.49 V in 1 M KOH. | Fengyuan Zhu Jiangyan Xue Lingjian Zeng Jingrui Shang Shuanglong Lu Xueqin Cao Brendan F.Abrahams Hongwei Gu Jianping Lang | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,2: | 1 |
