| 1 | Essential roles of exosome and circRNA_101093 on ferroptosis desensitization in lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Background:Resistance to ferroptosis,a regulated cell death caused by irondependent excessive accumulation of lipid peroxides,has recently been linked to lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD).Intracellular antioxidant systems are required for protection against ferroptosis.The purpose of the present studywas to investigate whether and how extracellular system desensitizes LUAD cells to ferroptosis.Methods:Established human lung fibroblasts MRC-5,WI38,and human LUAD H1650,PC9,H1975,H358,A549,and H1299 cell lines,tumor and matched normal adjacent tissues of LUAD,and plasma from healthy individuals and LUAD patients were used in this study.Immunohistochemistry and immunoblotting were used to analyze protein expression,and quantitative reverse transcription-PCR was used to analyze mRNA expression.Cell viability,cell death,and the lipid reactive oxygen species generationwere measured to evaluate the responses to ferroptosis.Exosomes were observed using transmission electron microscope.The localization of arachidonic acid(AA)was detected using click chemistry labeling followed by confocal microscopy.Interactions between RNAs and proteins were detected using RNA pull-down,RNA immunoprecipitation and photoactivatable ribonucleoside-enhanced crosslinking and immunoprecipitation methods.Proteomic analysis was used to investigate RNA-regulated proteins,and metabolomic analysis was performed to analyze metabolites.Cellderived xenograft,patient-derived xenograft,cell-implanted intrapulmonary LUAD mouse models and plasma/tissue specimens from LUAD patients were used to validate the molecular mechanism.Results:Plasma exosome from LUAD patients specifically reduced lipid peroxidation and desensitized LUAD cells to ferroptosis.A potential explanation is that exosomal circRNA_101093(cir93)maintained an elevation in intracellular cir93 in LUAD to modulate AA,a poly-unsaturated fatty acid critical for ferroptosisassociated increased peroxidation in the plasma membrane.Mechanistically,cir93 interacted with and increased fatty acid-binding protein 3(FABP3),which transported AA and facilitated its reaction with taurine.Thus,global AA was reduced,whereas N-arachidonoyl taurine(NAT,the product of AA and taurine)was induced.Notably,the role of NAT in suppressing AA incorporation into the plasma membrane was also revealed.In pre-clinical in vivo models,reducing exosome improved ferroptosis-based treatment.Conclusion:Exosome and cir93 are essential for desensitizing LUAD cells to ferroptosis,and blocking exosome may be helpful for future LUAD treatment. | Xiao Zhang Yunhua Xu Lifang Ma Keke Yu Yongjie Niu Xin Xu Yi Shi Susu Guo Xiangfei Xue Yikun Wang Shiyu Qiu Jiangtao Cui Hong Wang Xiaoting Tian Yayou Miao Fanyu Meng Yongxia Qiao Yongchun Yu Jiayi Wang | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,4: | 10 |

| 3 | Performance optimization of thermionic refrigerators based on van der Waals heterostructures显示文摘In this paper, an irreversible thermionic refrigerator model based on van der Waals heterostructure with various irreversibilities is established by utilizing combination of non-equilibrium thermodynamics and finite time thermodynamics. The basic performance characteristics of the refrigerator are obtained. The effects of key factors, such as bias voltages, Schottky barrier heights and heat leakages, on the performance are studied. Results show that cooling rates and coefficients of performances(COPs) can attain the double maximum with proper modulation of barrier heights and bias voltages. Increasing cross-plane thermal resistance as well as decreasing electrode-reservoir thermal resistance and reservoir-reservoir thermal resistance can enhance the performance of the device. The optimal performance region is the interval between the maximum cooling rate point and the maximum COP point. By modulating the bias voltage, the working state of the device can fall into the optimal performance region. | 6 | Enhanced electrocatalytic oxidation of dyes in aqueous solution using cobalt phthalocyanine modified activated carbon fiber anode显示文摘Cobalt tetra(2,4-dichloro-1,3,5-triazine)aminophthalocyanine(CoPc)was immobilized covalently on activated carbon fiber(ACF)felt to obtain CoPc-modified ACF(CoPc-ACF)catalyst,and an electrocatalytic oxidation system using CoPc-ACF as the anode was constructed.The electrocatalytic oxidation of Acid Red 1(AR1)was investigated in aqueous solution by an UV-vis spectrophotometer and UPLC.The results indicated that AR1 could be eliminated efficiently in this electrocatalytic oxidation system.In addition,the results of FTIR,TOC and GC-MS suggested that the electrocatalytic oxidation experienced the decoloration achieved by destroying the azo linkage and the further mineralization due to the cleavages of benzene ring and naphthalene ring.The intermediates were mainly small molecular compounds such as maleic acid and succinic acid,etc.Repetitive tests showed that CoPc-ACF can maintain high electrocatalytic activity over several cycles.The further EPR spin-trap experiments indicated that the hydroxyl radicals did not dominate the reaction in this electrocatalytic system,which was completely different from the traditional electro-Fenton system.Based on the non-radical reaction mechanism,the CoPc-modified ACF electrocatalyst has potential application in treating actual dyestuffs wastewaters,which are accompanied with high concentration of hydroxyl radical scavengers such as chlorine ions and additives in the textile printing and dyeing industry. | LI Nan DONG SuSu LV WangYang HUANG SanQing CHEN HaiXiang YAO YuYuan CHEN WenXing | 2013 | Science China Chemistry2013,56,12: | 2 |

| 8 | Crack-free single-crystalline Co-free Ni-rich LiNi_(0.95)Mn_(0.05)O_(2) layered cathode显示文摘The rapid growth in global electric vehicles(EVs)sales has promoted the development of Co-free,Ni-rich layered cathodes for state-of-the-art high energy-density,inexpensive lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).However,progress in their commercial use has been seriously hampered by exasperating performance deterioration and safety concerns.Herein,a robust single-crystalline,Co-free,Ni-rich LiNi_(0.95)Mn_(0.05)O_(2)(SC-NM95)cathode is successfully designed using a molten salt-assisted method,and it exhibits better structural stability and cycling durability than those of polycrystalline LiNi_(0.95)Mn_(0.05)O_(2) (PC-NM95).Notably,the SC-NM95 cathode achieves a high discharge capacity of 218.2 mAh g^(-1),together with a high energy density of 837.3 Wh kg^(-1) at 0.1 C,mainly due to abundant Ni^(2+)/Ni^(3+) redox.It also presents an outstanding capacity retention(84.4%)after 200 cycles at 1 C,because its integrated single-crystalline structure effectively inhibits particle microcracking and surface phase transformation.In contrast,the PC-NM95 cathode suffers from rapid capacity fading owing to the nucleation and propagation of intergranular microcracking during cycling,facilitating aggravated parasitic reactions and rocksalt phase accumulation.This work provides a fundamental strategy for designing high-performance singlecrystalline,Co-free,Ni-rich cathode materials and also represents an important breakthrough in developing high-safe,low-cost,and high-energy LIBs. | Lianshan Ni Ruiting Guo Susu Fang Jun Chen Jinqiang Gao Yu Mei Shu Zhang Wentao Deng Guoqiang Zou Hongshuai Hou Xiaobo Ji | 2022 | eScience2022,2,1: | 2 |

| 10 | Insulin sensitivity,βcell function,and adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with gestational diabetes显示文摘Background: The potential impact of β cell function and insulin sensitivity on adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) remains uncertain. We aimed to investigate the association between β cell dysfunction, insulin resistance, and the composite adverse pregnancy outcomes.Methods: This observational study included 482 women diagnosed with GDM during pregnancy. Quantitative metrics on β cell function and insulin sensitivity during pregnancy were calculated using traditional equations. The association of β cell dysfunction and insulin resistance with the risk of the composite adverse pregnancy outcomes was investigated using multivariable-adjusted logistic regression models.Results: Multivariable-adjusted odds ratios (ORs) of adverse pregnancy outcomes across quartiles of homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) were 1.00, 0.95, 1.34, and 2.25, respectively (P for trend = 0.011). When HOMA-IR was considered as a continuous variable, the multivariable-adjusted OR of adverse pregnancy outcomes was 1.34 (95% confidence interval 1.16-1.56) for each 1-unit increase in HOMA-IR. Multivariable-adjusted ORs of adverse pregnancy outcomes across quartiles of homeostatic model assessment for β cell function (HOMA-β) were 1.00, 0.51, 0.60, and 0.53, respectively (P for trend = 0.068). When HOMA-β was considered as a continuous variable, the multivariable-adjusted OR of adverse pregnancy outcomes was 0.57 (95% CI 0.24-0.90) for each 1-unit increase in HOMA-β. However, other quantitative metrics were not associated with the composite adverse pregnancy outcomes.Conclusions: We demonstrated a significant association of β cell function and insulin sensitivity with the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. | 17 | Reduced thermal boundary conductance in GaN-based electronic devices introduced by metal bonding layer显示文摘Achieving high interface thermal conductance is one of the biggest challenges in the nanoscale heat transport of GaN-based devices such as light emitting diodes(LEDs),and high electron mobility transistors(HEMTs).In this work,we experimentally measured thermal boundary conductance(TBC)at interfaces between GaN and the substrates with AuSn alloy as a commonly-used adhesive layer by time-domain thermoreflectance(TDTR).We find that the TBCs of GaN/Ti/AuSn/Ti/Si,GaN/Ti/AuSn/Ti/SiC,and GaN/Ti/AuSn/Ti/diamond,are 16.5,14.8,and 13.2 MW·m^(-2)·K^(-1)at room temperature,respectively.Our measured results show that the TBC of GaN/Ti/AuSn/Ti/SiC interface is inferior to the TBC of pristine GaN/SiC interface,due to the large mismatch of phonon modes between AuSn/Ti and substrates,shown as the difference of Debye temperature of two materials.Overall,we measured the TBC at interface between GaN and thermal conductive substrates,and provided a guideline for designing the interface between GaN and substrate at HEMT from a thermal management point of view. | Susu Yang Houfu Song Yan Peng Lu Zhao Yuzhen Tong Feiyu Kang Mingsheng Xu Bo Sun Xinqiang Wang | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,10: | 1 |
