1An isoflavone derivative potently inhibits the angiogenesis and progression of triple-negative breast cancer by targeting the MTA2/SerRS/VEGFA pathway显示文摘Objective:Angiogenesis plays a vital role in tumor growth and metastasis.Here,we aimed to find novel efficient antiangiogenic molecules targeting vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGFA)at the transcriptional level to treat triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC).Methods:We used a cell-based seryl tRNA synthetase(SerRS)promoter-driven dual-luciferase reporter system to screen an in-house library of 384 naturally occurring small molecules and their derivatives to find candidate molecules that could upregulate the expression of SerRS,a potent transcriptional repressor of VEGFA.The levels of SerRS and VEGFA were examined by quantitative RT-PCR(qRT-PCR),western blotting,and/or ELISAs in TNBC cells after candidate molecule administration.Zebrafish,the Matrigel plug angiogenesis assay in mice,the TNBC allograft,and xenograft mouse models were used to evaluate thein vivoanti-angiogenic and anti-cancer activities.Furthermore,the potential direct targets of the candidates were identified by proteomics and biochemical studies.Results:We found the most active compound was 3-(4-methoxyphenyl)quinolin-4(1H)-one(MEQ),an isoflavone derivative.In TNBC cells,MEQ treatment resulted in increased SerRS mRNA(P<0.001)and protein levels and downregulated VEGFA production.Both the vascular development of zebrafish and Matrigel plug angiogenesis in mice were inhibited by MEQ.MEQ also suppressed the angiogenesis in TNBC allografts and xenografts in mice,resulting in inhibited tumor growth and prolonged overall survival(P<0.05).Finally,we found that MEQ regulated SerRS transcription by interacting with MTA2(Metastasis Associated 1 Family Member 2).Conclusions:Our findings suggested that the MTA2/SerRS/VEGFA axis is a drug-treatable anti-angiogenic target,and MEQ is a promising anti-tumor molecule that merits further investigation for clinical applications.Xiaotong Zhang Gengyi Zou Xiyang Li Lun Wang Tianyu Xie Jin Zhao Longlong Wang Shunchang Jiao Rong Xiang Haoyu Ye Yi Shi 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,3:6
2Altered Local Field Potential Relationship Between the Parafascicular Thalamic Nucleus and Dorsal Striatum in Hemiparkinsonian Rats显示文摘The thalamostriatal pathway is implicated in Parkinson's disease(PD); however, PD-related changes in the relationship between oscillatory activity in the centromedian-parafascicular complex(CM/Pf, or the Pf in rodents) and the dorsal striatum(DS) remain unclear.Therefore, we simultaneously recorded local field potentials(LFPs) in both the Pf and DS of hemiparkinsonian and control rats during epochs of rest or treadmill walking. The dopamine-lesioned rats showed increased LFP power in the beta band(12 Hz–35 Hz) in the Pf and DS during both epochs, but decreased LFP power in the delta(0.5 Hz–3 Hz) band in the Pf during rest epochs and in the DS during both epochs, compared to control rats. In addition,exaggerated low gamma(35 Hz–70 Hz) oscillations after dopamine loss were restricted to the Pf regardless of the behavioral state. Furthermore, enhanced synchronization of LFP oscillations was found between the Pf and DS after the dopamine lesion. Significant increases occurred in the mean coherence in both theta(3 Hz–7 Hz) and beta bands,and a significant increase was also noted in the phase coherence in the beta band between the Pf and DS during rest epochs. During the treadmill walking epochs, significant increases were found in both the alpha(7 Hz–12 Hz)and beta bands for two coherence measures. 3Hippo-YAP/TAZ signaling in osteogenesis and macrophage polarization:Therapeutic implications in bone defect repair显示文摘Bone defects caused by diseases or surgery are a common clinical problem.Researchers are devoted to finding biological mechanisms that accelerate bone defect repair,which is a complex and continuous process controlled by many factors.As members of transcriptional costimulatory molecules,Yes-associated protein(YAP)and transcriptional co-activator with PDZ-binding motif(TAZ)play an important regulatory role in osteogenesis,and they affect cell function by regulating the expression of osteogenic genes in osteogenesis-related cells.Macrophages are an important group of cells whose function is regulated by YAP/TAZ.Currently,the relationship between YAP/TAZ and macrophage polarization has attracted increasing attention.In bone tissue,YAP/TAZ can realize diverse osteogenic regulation by mediating macrophage polarization.Macrophages polarize into M1 and M2 phenotypes under different stimuli.M1 macrophages dominate the inflammatory response by releasing a number of inflammatory mediators in the early phase of bone defect repair,while massive aggregation of M2 macrophages is beneficial for inflammation resolution and tissue repair,as they secrete many anti-inflammatory and osteogenesis-related cytokines.The mechanism of YAP/TAZ-mediated macrophage polarization during osteogenesis warrants further study and it is likely to be a promising strategy for bone defect repair.In this article,we review the effect of Hippo-YAP/TAZ signaling and macrophage polarization on bone defect repair,and highlight the regulation of macrophage polarization by YAP/TAZ.Haochen Wang Hui Yu Tianyu Huang Bin Wang Lin Xiang 2023Genes & Diseases2023,10,6:2

8Reliability analysis of circular concrete-filled steel tube with material and geometrical nonlinearity显示文摘Most of the previous research on concrete-filled steel tube is restricted to a deterministic approach. To gain clear insight into the random properties of circular concrete-filled steel tube, reliability analysis is carried out in the present study. To obtain the structural nonlinear response and ultimate resistance capacity, material and geometrical nonlinear analysis of circular concrete-filled steel tube is performed with a three-dimensional degenerated beam element. Then we investigate the reliability of concrete-filled steel tube using the first-order reliability method combined with nonlinear finite element analysis. The influences of such parameters as material strength, slenderness, initial geometrical imperfection, etc. on the reliability of circular concrete-filled steel tube column are studied. 14Wound microenvironment self-adaptive hydrogel with efficient angiogenesis for promoting diabetic wound healing显示文摘Neovascularization is critical to improve the diabetic microenvironment,deliver abundant nutrients to the wound and promote wound closure.However,the excess of oxidative stress impedes the healing process.Herein,a self-adaptive multifunctional hydrogel with self-healing property and injectability is fabricated through a boronic ester-based reaction between the phenylboronic acid groups of the 3-carboxyl-4-fluorophenylboronic acid-grafted quaternized chitosan and the hydroxyl groups of the polyvinyl alcohol,in which pro-angiogenic drug of desferrioxamine(DFO)is loaded in the form of gelatin microspheres(DFO@G).The boronic ester bonds of the hydrogel can self-adaptively react with hyperglycemic and hydrogen peroxide to alleviate oxidative stress and release DFO@G in the early phase of wound healing.A sustained release of DFO is then realized by responding to overexpressed matrix metalloproteinases.In a full-thickness diabetic wound model,the DFO@G loaded hydrogel accelerates angiogenesis by upregulating expression of hypoxia-inducible factor-1 and angiogenic growth factors,resulting in collagen deposition and rapid wound closure.This multifunctional hydrogel can not only self-adaptively change the microenvironment to a pro-healing state by decreasing oxidative stress,but also respond to matrix metalloproteinases to release DFO.The self-adaptive multifunctional hydrogel has a potential for treating diabetic wounds.Zijian Shao Tianyu Yin Jinbo Jiang Yang He Tao Xiang Shaobing Zhou 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,2:1

16Composites of In/C hexagonal nanorods and graphene nanosheets for high-performance electromagnetic wave absorption显示文摘In recent years,electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorption has been extensively investigated for solving EMW radiation and pollution.The metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)have attracted attention due to their low density and unique structure,which can meet the requirements of strong reflection loss(RL)and wide absorption bandwidth of EMW absorption materials.In this manuscript,indium nanoparticles/porous carbon(In/C)nanorods composites were prepared via the pyrolysis of nanorods-like In-MOFs at a low temperature of450°C.Indium nanoparticles are evenly attached and embedded on porous carbon.Low electrical conductivity of In/C nanorods is unfavorable to EMW absorption performance,which is due to the low temperature carbonization.Thus,graphene(Gr)nanosheets with high electrical conductivity are introduced to adjust electromagnetic parameters of In/C nanorods for enhancing EMW absorption.The minimum RL of the In/C-Gr-4 composite is up to-43.7 dB with a thin thickness of 1.30 mm.In addition,when the thickness is further reduced to 1.14 mm,the minimum RL of-39.3 dB at 16.1 GHz and effective absorption bandwidth of 3.7 GHz(from 14.3 to 18.0 GHz)can be achieved.This work indicates that In/C-Gr composites show excellent EMW absorption performance.Rao Zhang Congpu Mu Bochong Wang Jianyong Xiang Kun Zhai Tianyu Xue Fusheng Wen 2023International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,3:0
17Pre-combustion mercury removal with co-production of hydrogen via coal electrolysis显示文摘Pre-combustion mercury removal via coal electrolysis was performed and investigated on a bench-scale coal electrolytic cell(CEC)systemically,and factorial design was used to determine the effect of different operating conditions(coal particle size,operating temperature,operating cell voltage,and flow rate of slurry)on the percentage of mercury removal,percentage of ash removal,and dry heating value change.The results showed that the operating cell voltage,as well as the interaction between operating cell voltage and coal particle size,are significant factors in the percentage of mercury removal.There is no significant factor in the percentage of ash removal and the dry heating value change,but the coal could be purified while keeping the dry heating value almost constant after electrolysis.A co-product of hydrogen could be produced during coal electrolysis with 50%lower energy consumption compared with water electrolysis.Meanwhile,a mechanism for mercury removal in coal was proposed.The facts indicate that coal electrolysis is a promising method for precombustion mercury removal.Xiang Lyu Runming Tao Tianyu Zhang 2024Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,2:0
18Broadband light absorption and photoresponse enhancement in monolayer WSe_(2) crystal coupled to Sb_(2)O_(3) microresonators显示文摘Monolayer(1L)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs)have been attracting tremendous interest in recent years as promising candidate materials in atomic-scale optoelectronic devices due to their direct band gaps(1.5-2.2 eV)and strong light-matter interactions.Unfortunately,their practical applications are limited by low visible light absorption stemming from atomic thickness and negligible infrared response.Here,we report the triangular Sb_(2)O_(3) microresonators in wide thickness and lateral size distributions grown on 1L TMDCs and their created significant broadband enhancement of light adsorption and photoresponse in 1L WSe_(2) crystal via coexisting Fabry-Perot and whispering gallery type resonances.As an example of demonstration,1L WSe_(2) crystal coupled to Sb_(2)O_(3) microresonators with widely distributed sizes exhibits the enhanced visible light absorption by up to 5 folds and the simultaneously extended near infrared(NIR)one of more than 50%.For application of 1L WSe_(2) in photodetection,incorporation of Sb2O3 microresonators leads to significantly enhanced visible light responsivity by~10^(4) order and expanded NIR one of more than 400 mA·W^(-1).Similar results have been observed in the other 1L W(Mo)dichalcogenides coupled to Sb2O3 microresonators.This work provides a new route for development of the high-performance monolayer TMDCs-based optoelectronic devices.Kun Ye Lixuan Liu Congpu Mu Kun Zhai Shiliang Guo Bochong Wang Anmin Nie Shuhan Meng Fusheng Wen Jianyong Xiang Tianyu Xue Ming Kang Yongji Gong Yongjun Tian Zhongyuan Liu 2022Nano Research2022,15,5:0
19A New Species of the Amolops mantzorum Group (Anura: Ranidae: Amolops) from Northwestern Hunan Province, China显示文摘We described anew species of the Amolops mantzorum group(Anura:Ranidae) from northwestern Hunan Province,China based on morphological and molecular evidence.The new species differs from its congeners by a combination of the following characteristics:moderate body size of SVL 403-409 mm in adult males(N=3),and 52.6-57.7 mm in adult females(N=3);head length about equal to or larger than head width(HDL/HDW 1.01-1.03);skin on dorsum smooth;dorsolateral folds absent,but developed a series of elongated glands forming an incomplete line;dense small spiny tubercles on lower flanks,and sparse flat tubercles on upper flanks;skin on belly slightly granular,posterior half of ventral surface of thigh glandular;tympanum indistinct,small,covered by glandular skin;presence of dense spiny tubercles around the mouth corner;vomerine teeth present,attached on two oblique ridges;presence of supernumerary tubercles below the bases of fingers Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ;several protruding tubercles around the cloacal region,with a pair of larger tubercles on sides of the anus;webs on each side of toe Ⅳ reaches the region between third subarticular tubercle and digit;and absence of vocal sacs and linea masculine in males.Tianyu QIAN Jianjun XIANG Jianping JIANG Daode YANG Jian GUI 2023Asian Herpetological Research2023,14,1:0
