1Micro-light-emitting diodes with quantum dots in display technology显示文摘Micro-light-emitting diodes(μ-LEDs)are regarded as the cornerstone of next-generation display technology to meet the personalised demands of advanced applications,such as mobile phones,wearable watches,virtual/augmented reality,micro-projectors and ultrahigh-definition TVs.However,as the LED chip size shrinks to below 20μm,conventional phosphor colour conversion cannot present sufficient luminance and yield to support highresolution displays due to the low absorption cross-section.The emergence of quantum dot(QD)materials is expected to fill this gap due to their remarkable photoluminescence,narrow bandwidth emission,colour tuneability,high quantum yield and nanoscale size,providing a powerful full-colour solution for μ-LED displays.Here,we comprehensively review the latest progress concerning the implementation of μ-LEDs and QDs in display technology,including μ-LED design and fabrication,large-scale μ-LED transfer and QD full-colour strategy.Outlooks on QD stability,patterning and deposition and challenges of μ-LED displays are also provided.Finally,we discuss the advanced applications of QD-based μ-LED displays,showing the bright future of this technology.Zhaojun Liu Chun-Ho Lin Byung-Ryool Hyun Chin-Wei Sher Zhijian Lv Bingqing Luo Fulong Jiang Tom Wu Chih-Hsiang Ho Hao-Chung Kuo Jr-Hau He 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:12
2FORCE RIPPLE SUPPRESSION TECHNOLOGY FOR LINEAR MOTORS BASED ON BACK PROPAGATION NEURAL NETWORK显示文摘Various force disturbances influence the thrust force of linear motors when a linear motor (LM) is running.Among all of force disturbances,the force ripple is the dominant while a linear motor runs in low speed.In order to suppress the force ripple,back propagation(BP) neural network is proposed to learn the function of the force ripple of linear motors,and the acquisition method of training samples is proposed based on a disturbance observer.An off-line BP neural network is used mainly because of its high running efficiency and the real-time requirement of the servo control system of a linear motor.By using the function,the force ripple is on-line compensated according to the position of the LM.The experimental results show that the force ripple is effectively suppressed by the compensation of the BP neural network.ZHANG Dailin CHEN Youping AI Wu ZHOU Zude KONG Ching Tom 2008Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2008,21,2:7
3Role of nitric oxide in the genotoxic response to chronic microcystin-LR exposure in human–hamster hybrid cells显示文摘Microcystin-LR(MC-LR) is the most abundant and toxic microcystin congener and has been classified as a potential human carcinogen(Group 2B) by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. However, the mechanisms underlying the genotoxic effects of MC-LR during chronic exposure are still poorly understood. In the present study, human–hamster hybrid(AL) cells were exposed to MC-LR for varying lengths of time to investigate the role of nitrogen radicals in MC-LR-induced genotoxicity. The mutagenic potential at the CD59 locus was more than 2-fold higher(p < 0.01) in ALcells exposed to a cytotoxic concentration(1 μmol/L) of MC-LR for 30 days than in untreated control cells, which was consistent with the formation of micronucleus. MC-LR caused a dose-dependent increase in nitric oxide(NO) production in treated cells. Moreover, this was blocked by concurrent treatment with the NO synthase inhibitor NG-methyl-L-arginine(L-NMMA), which suppressed MC-LRinduced mutations as well. The survival of mitochondrial DNA-depleted(ρ0) ALcells was markedly decreased by MC-LR treatment compared to that in ALcells, while the CD59 mutant fraction was unaltered. 4Whole-genome sequencing to detect mutations associated with resistance to insecticides and Bt proteins in Spodoptera frugiperda显示文摘The fall armyworm(FAW),Spodoptera frugiperda,is a major pest native to the Americas that has recently invaded the Old World.Point mutations in the target-site proteins acetylcholinesterase-1(ace-1),voltage-gated sodium channel(VGSC)and ryanodine receptor(RyR)have been identified in S.frugiperda as major resistance mechanisms to organophosphate,pyrethroid and diamide insecticides respectively.Mutations in the adenosine triphosphate-binding cassette transporter C2 gene(ABCC2)have also been identified to confer resistance to Cry IF protein.In this study,we applied a whole-genome sequencing(WGS)approach to identify point mutations in the target-site genes in 150 FAW individuals collected from China,Malawi,Uganda and Brazil.This approach revealed three amino acid substitutions(A201S,G227A and F290V)of S.frugiperda ace-1,which are known to be associated with organophosphate resistance.The Brazilian population had all three ace-1 point mutations and the 227A allele(mean frequency=0.54)was the most common.Populations from China,Malawi and Uganda harbored two of the three ace-1 point mutations(A201S and F290V)with the 290V allele(0.47-0.58)as the dominant allele.Point mutations in VGSC(T929I,L932F and L1014F)and RyR(I4790M and G4946E)were not detected in any of the 150 individuals.A novel 12-bp insertion mutation in exon 15 of the ABCC2 gene was identified in some of the Brazilian individuals but absent in the invasive populations.Our results not only demonstrate robustness of the WGS-based genomic approach for detection of resistance mutations,but also provide insights for improvement of resistance management tactics in S.frugiperda.Fang Guan Jianpeng Zhang Huiwen Shen Xingliang Wang Amanda Padovan Tom K.Walsh Wee Tek Tay Karl H.J.Gordon William James Cecilia Czepak Michael Hilary Otim Donald Kachigamba Yidong Wu 2021Insect Science2021,28,3:6
5Deformation of the Zhangjiazhuang high-speed railway tunnel: an analysis of causal mechanisms using geomorphological surveys and D-InSAR monitoring显示文摘On 18 January 2016,the Zhangjiazhuang high-speed railway tunnel in Ledu,Qinghai Province,China,underwent serious deformation and structural damage.A crack formed at the top of the tunnel and the concrete on the crown peeled off.As a result,the tunnel could not be operated for three months.In order to determine the types and spatial distribution of the landslides in the region and the surface deformation characteristics associated with the tunnel deformation,we used field geological and geomorphological surveys,unmanned aerial vehicle image interpretation and differential interferometric synthetic aperture radar(D-In SAR) surface deformation monitoring.Nine ancient and old landslides were identified and analysed in the study area.Surface deformation monitoring and investigation of buildings in several villages on the slope front showed that the tunnel deformation was not related to deep-seated gravitational slope deformation.However,surface deformation monitoring revealed an active NEE–SWW fault in the area intersecting the tunnel at the location of the tunnel rupture.This constitutes a plausible mechanism for the deformation of the tunnel.Our study highlights the need for detailed engineering geomorphological investigations to better predict the occurrence of tunnel deformation events in the future.MENG Xing-min QI Tian-jun ZHAO Yan DIJKSTRA Tom SHI Wei LUO Yin-fei WU Yuan-zhao SU Xiao-jun ZHAO Fu-meng MA Jin-hui ZHANG Yi CHEN Guan YUE Dong-xia ZHANG Mao-sheng 2021Journal of Mountain Science2021,18,7:5
