| 1 | Pattern of latest tectonic motion and its dynamics for active blocks in Sichuan-Yunnan region, China显示文摘Based on the concept of 'active blocks' and spatial distribution of historical earthquakes with surface ruptures as well as major and subordinate active faults. The Sichuan-Yunnan region can be divided into four first-order blocks. They are the Markam block (I), the Sichuan-Yunnan rhombic block (II), Baoshan-Pu'er block (III), and Mizhina-Ximeng block (IV). Cut by sub-ordinate NE-trending active faults, the Sichuan-Yunnan rhombic block (II) can be further divided into two sub-blocks: the northwestern Sichuan sub-block (II1) and the middle Yunnan sub-block (II2), while the Baoshan- Pu'er block (III) can be further divided into three sub-blocks: Baoshan sub-block (III1), Jinggu sub-block (III2), and Mengla sub-block (III3). A quantitative study of offset landforms is carried out and the basic types of active faults and their long-term slip rates along the major boundaries of active blocks of different orders in the Sichuan-Yunnan region are determined, through slip vector analysis, the motion states of the active blocks are clarified and the deformation coordination on the block margins is discussed. It is suggested that the tectonic motion of the blocks in this region is a complex or superimposition of three basic types of motions: southeastward sliding, rotating on vertical axis, and uplifting. The Markam block (I), the northwestern Sichuan sub-block (II1), and middle Yunnan sub-block (II2) have a southeastward horizontal sliding rate of 1-5 mm/a, clockwise rotating angular rate of 1.4-4(/Ma, and uplifting rate of about 1 mm/a. The Baoshan-Pu'er (III) and Mizhina-Ximeng (IV) blocks have also been extensively clockwise rotated. This pattern of motion is a strain response to the collision between the Indian and Eurasian plates and the localized deformation and differential slip on the block margins associated with the northward motion of the Indian Plate. | 2 | Long-term cycles in the carbon reservoir of the Quaternary ocean: a perspective from the South China Sea显示文摘In recent years,long-term,high-resolution records from the deep sea and ice-cores have ofered new research opportunities for Quaternary science.Paleoclimate studies are no longer restricted to individual glacial cycles,but extend to long-term(≥105 yr)processes across those cycles.Ocean Drilling Program Leg 184 of the South China Sea in 1999 uncovered well-preserved sediment sections,in which three long-term cycles in Pleistocene carbon isotope(δ13C)sequence have been found and demonstrated to be common in the global ocean.Subsequent discoveries conirm the existence of long-term processes of 105yr in both the hydrologic(ice-sheet changes)and carbon(biogeochemical changes)cycles,posing the question whether the two processes are related.he present review shows that the long-eccentricity cycles prevail throughout theδ13C and other biogeochemical records in geologic history,and 400-kyr cycles in the oceanicδ13C sequence before the Quaternary can be hypothetically explained by changes in ratio between particulate and dissolved organic carbon(POC/DOC)in the ocean,depending on the monsoon-controlled nutrient supply.his is a‘DOC hypothesis’.However,ocean restructuring at 1.6 Ma marked by the isolation of a sluggish abyss under the Southern Ocean has obscured the long-eccentricity 400-kyr signal in oceanicδ13C.he last million-year period has experienced two major changes in the climate regime,namely the mid-Pleistocene transition(MPT)centered at 0.9 Ma and the mid-Brunhes event(MBE)around 0.4 Ma.he MPT and MBE were preluded byδ13C maxima-III(δ13Cmax-III)~1.0 Ma andδ13Cmax-II~0.5 Ma,respectively.Together with similar hydroclimatic phenomena over corresponding glacial cycles,the two groups of hydrologic and biogeochemical events appear to have been driven largely by oceanographic changes in the Southern Ocean.herefore,we interpret that the long-term biogeochemical processes originating from the Southern Ocean must have played a crucial role in Quaternary ice-sheet waxing and waning. | PinXian Wang QianYu Li Jun Tian ZhiMin Jian ChuanLian Liu Li Li WenTao Ma | 2014 | National Science Review2014,1,1: | 23 |

| 4 | Role of primary Zr-rich particles on microstructure and magnetic properties of 2:17-type Sm-Co-Fe-Cu-Zr permanent magnets显示文摘Trace Zr addition is essential for achieving desired cellular nanostructure and large coercivity in the pinning-controlled 2:17-type Sm-Co-Fe-Cu-Zr magnets that have served as the strongest high temperature permanent magnets for over 40 years.However,accompanying this is the formation of Zr-rich particles that may deteriorate the hard magnetic properties.Besides the formerly-reported 1:3R Zr-rich platelets,in this work,1–2μm sized Zr6(Co,Fe)23(6:23)particles(Fm 3 m)and 100–200 nm sized 1:3R Zr-rich particles were also found based on combined structural identifications and element mapping analysis.Around such particles,the desired 1:5H cell wall precipitates that provide the strongest pinning force of magnetic domain wall motions are rare,forming the precipitate-free-zones(PFZs).The 1:5H-PFZs and the soft magnetism of both 6:23 and 1:3R Zr-rich particles act as local weak pinning points,which are unfavorable to retain the large magnetization in strong opposite fields and lead to poor squareness.As observed in a Sm25Co45.9Fe19.5Cu5.6Zr4.0(wt.%)magnet,the co-existence of such Zr-rich particles and the associated 1:5H-PFZs leads to a pretty low squareness factor of only 52.89%given the large coercivity of 29.04 kOe.Our findings suggest that careful controlling the Zr content and avoiding its aggregation to form harmful 6:23 and 1:3R Zr-rich particles are essential for achieving high squareness as well as large energy product in the Sm-Co-Fe-Cu-Zr permanent magnets. | Tao Yuan Xin Song Xianglong Zhou Wentao Jia Munzali Musa Jingdong Wang Tianyu Ma | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,52,18: | 6 |
| 5 | Detection of quantitative trait loci and heterotic loci for plant height using an immortalized F_2 population in maize显示文摘A set of recombinant inbred lines (RIL) derived from Yuyu22, an elite hybrid widespread in China, was used to construct an immortalized F2 (IF2) population comprising 441 different crosses. Genetic linkage maps were constructed containing 10 linkages groups with 263 simple sequence repeat (SSR) molecular markers. Twelve and ten quantitative trait loci (QTL) were detected for plant height in the IF2 and RIL populations respectively, using the composite interval mapping method, and six same QTL were identified in the two populations. In addition, ten unique heterotic loci (HL) located on seven different chromosomes were revealed for plant height using the mid-parent heterosis as the input data. These HL explained 1.26%―8.41% of the genotypic variance in plant height heterosis and most expressed overdominant effects. The full length of AsMT2b cDNA was 520 bp encod-ing 80 amino acids. The deduced amino acids of AsMT2b showed that AsMT2b contained the char-acteristic structure of type 2 MT proteins, but the number and arrangement of the cysteine residues in the N- and C-terminal domains was different from other type 2 MT proteins. Semi-quantitative reverse transcriptase-PCR showed that transcript levels of AsMT2b were enhanced only in response to higher concentrations or longer incubation time of Cd. Such an expression pattern of AsMT2b greatly differed from that of other type 2 MT genes. Yeast cells transformed with this gene had improved resistance to Cd. AsMT2b overexpressing Arabidopsis showed stronger Cd tolerance and higher Cd accumulation compared with wild-type plants. | 8 | CO_(2) mineralization of carbide slag for the production of light calcium carbonates显示文摘The production of polyvinyl chloride by calcium carbide method is a typical chemical process with high coal consumption,leading to massive flue gas and carbide slag emissions.Currently,the carbide slag with high CaO content is usually stacked in residue field,easily draining away with the rain and corroding the soil.In this work,we coupled the treatment of flue gas and carbide slag to propose a facile CO_(2)mineralization route to prepare light calcium carbonate.And the route feasibility was comprehensively evaluated via experiments and simulation.Through experimental investigation,the Ca^(2+) leaching and mineralization reaction parameters were determined.Based on the experiment,a process was built and optimized through Aspen Plus,and the energy was integrated to obtain the overall process energy and material consumption.Finally,the net CO_(2)emission reduction rate of the entire process through the life-cycle assessment method was analyzed.Moreover,the relationship between the parameters and the CO_(2)emission life-cycle assessment was established.The final optimization results showed that the mineralization process required 1154.69 kW·h·(t CO_(2))^(-1) of energy(including heat energy of 979.32 kW·h·(t CO_(2))^(-1) and electrical energy of 175.37 kW·h·(t CO_(2))^(-1)),and the net CO_(2)emission reduction rate was 35.8%.The light CaCO_(3)product can be sold as a high value-added product.According to preliminary economic analysis,the profit of mineralizing can reach more than 2,100 CNY·(t CO_(2))^(-1). | Tongyang Zhang Guanrun Chu Junlin Lyu Yongda Cao Wentao Xu Kui Ma Lei Song Hairong Yue Bin Liang | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,3: | 4 |

| 10 | Astronomically modulated late Pliocene equatorial Pacific climate transition and Northern Hemisphere ice sheet expansion显示文摘The equatorial Pacific underwent a significant climate transition during the late Pliocene, which is characterized by cooling of global sea surface temperatures (SSTs) and formation of a marked SST gradient between the eastern and western equatorial Pacific. Moreover, this transition was nearly synchronous with the late Pliocene Northern Hemisphere glaciation. Probing the relationship among solar insolation, low and high latitude processes is the key to unravel the mechanism of this climate transition. A series of statistical methods were used in this study to analyze the orbital components of the equatorial Pacific SST and global ice volume records for the past 5 Ma. We found that integrated solar insolation rather than the monthly mean insolation is the primary external forcing of the late Pliocene climate transition, and that on orbital time scale the SSTs of the eastern and western equatorial Pacific display consistent change rather than a 'seesaw' pattern. | 14 | Impact of rain-induced sea surface roughness variations on salinity retrieval from the Aquarius/SAC-D satellite显示文摘Rainfall has two significant effects on the sea surface, including salinity decreasing and surface becoming rougher,which have further influence on L-band sea surface emissivity. Investigations using the Aquarius and TRMM 3B42 matchup dataset indicate that the retrieved sea surface salinity(SSS) is underestimated by the present Aquarius algorithm compared to numerical model outputs, especially in cases of a high rain rate. For example, the bias between satellite-observed SSS and numerical model SSS is approximately 2 when the rain rate is 25 mm/h. The bias can be eliminated by accounting for rain-induced roughness, which is usually modeled by rain-generated ring-wave spectrum. The rain spectrum will be input into the Small Slope Approximation(SSA) model for the simulation of sea surface emissivity influenced by rain. The comparison with theoretical model indicated that the empirical model of rain spectrumis more suitable to be used in the simulation. Further, the coefficients of the rain spectrum are modified by fitting the simulations with the observations of the 2–year Aquarius and TRMM matchup dataset. The calculations confirm that the sea surface emissivity increases with the wind speed and rain rate. The increase induced by the rain rate is rapid in the case of low rain rate and low wind speed. Finally, a modified model of sea surface emissivity including the rain spectrum is proposed and validated by using the matchup dataset in May 2014. Compared with observations, the bias of the rain-induced sea surface emissivity simulated by the modified modelis approximately 1e–4, and the RMSE is slightly larger than 1e–3. | 17 | Experimental study on expansion and cracking properties of static cracking agents in different assembly states显示文摘Rolled static cracking agent(RSCA)can solve the intractable problem of traditional bulk static cracking agent(BSCA)in engineering applications.This paper innovatively studies the rational water-cement ratio of BSCA and the immersion soaking time of RSCA under the condition of controlling temperature.Through the expansion and cracking performance experiments,the development characteristics of expansion pressure,the cracking effect of the single-hole specimen and the performance of hole spraying prevention under the action of BSCA and RSCA were compared and analyzed.The results show that:(1)The volume growth rate of static cracking agent decreases with the increase of water-cement ratio,and the fluidity increases with the increase of water-cement ratio.The rational water-cement ratio for BSCA application is 0.3,and the rational immersion time of RSCA is 2-2.5 min;(2)Under the bore diameters of 30,35,40 and 45 mm,the expansion pressure of BSCA with a water-cement ratio of 0.3 is 38.2,52.3,61.5 and 68 MPa,and the expansion pressure of RSCA immersed in water for 2.5 min is 43.5,58.8,69.5 and 75.1 MPa,respectively.Among them,the development speed of expansion pressure of BSCA is higher than that of RSCA,and the arrival time of the peak expansion pressure of RSCA is 1.7 times that of BSCA;(3)The crack initiation speed of single-hole specimen under the action of RSCA is 10.3%lower than that under the action of BSCA,but the cracking speed of the former is 72.6%higher than that of the latter;(4)The hole spraying occurs in BSCA under the bore diameter of 50,55 and 60 mm,while the hole spraying occurs in RSCA under the bore diameter of 60 mm.In terms of bore diameter,the hole spraying prevention of the RSCA is better than that of BSCA.The research results enrich the static blasting technology and provide data support and theoretical reference for field application. | Chong Li Sifeng He Wentao Hou Dan Ma | 2022 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2022,32,6: | 1 |
