| 1 | Process Study and Exergy Analysis of a Novel Air Separation Process Cooled by LNG Cold Energy显示文摘In order to resolve the problems of the current air separation process such as the complex process, cumbersome operation and high operating costs, a novel air separation process cooled by LNG cold energy is proposed in this paper, which is based on high-efficiency heat exchanger network and chemical packing separation technology. The operating temperature range of LNG cold energy is widened from 133K-203K to 113K-283K by highefficiency heat exchanger network and air separation pressure is declined from 0.5MPa to about 0.35MPa due to packing separation technology, thereby greatly improve the energy efficiency. Both the traditional and novel air separation processes are simulated with air handling capacity of 20t·h 1. Comparing with the traditional process, the LNG consumption is reduced by 44.2%, power consumption decrease is 211.5 kWh per hour, which means the annual benefit will be up to 1.218 million CNY. | 2 | Risk assessment on the epidemics of human infection with a novel avian influenza A (H7N9) virus in Jiangsu Province, China显示文摘A novel avian influenza A (H7N9) virus was discovered in February 2013 in China and has resulted in more than 100 comfirmed human infections including 26 fatal cases as of May 2, 2013. The situation raises many urgent questions and global public health concerns. In this study, epidemiologic characteristics of infected human cases in Jiangsu province were analyzed and risk assessment was undertaken based on the information available. Briefly, it is highly unlikely that a pandemic of human infection with avian influenza A (H7N9) virus will happen in Jiangsu Province in the near future. | 4 | Speciation, sources, and risk assessment of heavy metals in suburban vegetable garden soil in Xianyang City, Northwest China显示文摘Intensive anthropogenic activities can lead tosoil heavy metal contamination resulting in potential risksto the environment and to human health. To reveal theconcentrations, speciation, sources, pollution level, andecological risk of heavy metals in vegetable garden soil, atotal of 136 soil samples were collected from threevegetable production fields in the suburbs of XianyangCity, Northwest China. These samples were analyzed byinductively coupled plasma- atomic emission spectrometryand atomic fluorescence spectrometry. The results showedthat the mean concentrations of Cd, Co, Cu, Mn, Pb, Zn,and Hg in vegetable garden soil were higher than thecorresponding soil element background values of ShaanxiProvince. The heavy metals studied in vegetable gardensoil were primarily found in the residual fraction,averaging from 31.26% (Pb)to 90.23% (Cr). Consideringthe non-residual fractions, the mobility or potential riskwas in the order of Pb (68.74%)〉 Co (60.54%)〉 Mn(59.28%)〉Cd (53.54%)〉〉Ni (23.36%)〉Zn(22.73%) 〉 Cu (14.93%) 〉 V (11.81%) 〉 Cr (9.78%). Cr,Mn, Ni, V, and As in the studied soil were related to soil-forming parent materials, while Cu, Hg, Zn, Cd, Co, andPb were associated with the application of plastic films,fertilizers, and pesticides, as well as traffic emissions andindustrial fumes. Cr, Ni, V, and As presented lowcontamination levels, whereas Co, Cu, Mn, Pb, and Znlevels were moderate, and Cd and Hg were high.Ecological risk was low for Co, Cr, Cu, Mn, Pb, Zn, andAs, with high risk observed for Cd and Hg. | 6 | Investigation of Coal Fueled Chemical Looping Combustion Using Fe_3O_4 as Oxygen Carrier:Influence of Variables显示文摘Chemical-looping combustion (CLC) is a novel combustion technique with inherent CO2 separation.Magnetite (Fe3O4) was selected as the oxygen carrier.Shenhua coal (Inner Mongolia,China),straw coke and natural coke were used as fuels for this study.Influences of operation temperatures,coal to Fe3O4 mass ratios,and different kinds of fuels on the reduction characteristics of the oxygen carrier were investigated using an atmosphere thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA).Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to analyse the characteristic of the solid residues.Experimental results shown that the reaction between the coal and the oxygen carrier become strong at a temperature of higher than 800℃.As the operation temperature rises,the reduction conversion rate increases.At the temperatures of 850oС,900℃,and 950℃,the reduction conversion rates were 37.1%,46.5%,and 54.1% respectively.However,SEM images show that at the temperature of higher than 950℃,the iron oxides become melted and sintered.The possible operation temperature should be kept around 900℃.When the mass ratios of coal to Fe3O4 were 5/95,10/90,15/85,and 20/80,the reduction conversion rates were 29.5%,40.8%,46.5%,and 46.6% respectively.With the increase of coal,the conversion rate goes up.But there exist an optimal ratio around 15/85.Comparisons based on different kinds of fuels show that the solid fuel with a higher volatile and a more developed pore structure is conducive to the reduction reactivity of the oxygen carrier. | Xiaoyan Sun Wenguo Xiang Sha Wang Wendong Tian Xiang Xu Yanji Xu Yunhan Xiao | 2010 | Journal of Thermal Science2010,19,3: | 3 |
| 7 | Ganoderma lucidum spore oil(GLSO),a novel antioxidant,extends the average life span in Drosophila melanogaster显示文摘In ancient China,Ganoderma lucidum was believed to be a medical fungus that could increase lifespan.Recently,pharmacologic studies have found that polysaccharide peptides and triterpenoids extracted from Ganoderma lucidum have various physiological effects as active compounds.However,the effects of spore oil isolated from Ganoderma lucidum remains unknown.In this study,the biological effects of Ganoderma lucidum spore oil(GLSO)were evaluated using a Drosophila melanogaster model.Compared with untreated groups,groups treated with GLSO had significantly longer average and maximum lifespan in both normal conditions and under oxidative stress.The activities of various antioxidant enzymes were measured to determine the antioxidant effect of GLSO.GLSO treatment markedly enhanced total superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT)activity and decreased levels of malondialdehyde(MDA).Further,we found dose-dependent increases in the mRNA expression of Cu,Zn-SOD,Mn-SOD,and CAT in GLSO-treated groups.These results suggest that GLSO may effectively eliminate free radicals and extend lifespan in Drosophila.Future work should investigate the value of GLSO as a functional food for the prevention of aging in larger animal models. | Yi Zhang Hongfei Cai Zhu Tao Cheng Yuan Zhaojian Jiang Juyan Liu Hiroshi Kurihara Wendong Xu | 2021 | Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,1: | 3 |

The goal of this experiment is to study the reaction rate of 18Ne(,p)21Na reaction, which mightbe a key breakout reaction from the hot CNO cycle to rp-process in X-ray burst and nova. Yet its reaction rate ispoorly known.Explosive hydrogen burning is thought to be the main source of energy generation and a source of nucleosynthesisin X-ray burst and nova[1;2]. For example, XRBs are characterized by a sudden increase of X-ray emission withinonly a few seconds to a total energy output of about 1040 ergs, which is observed to repeat with some regularity.The recurrence time for single bursts can range from hours to days at the typical temperature of 0.4~2 GK. Thebursts have been interpreted as being generated by thermonuclear runaway on the surface of a neutron star thataccretes H- and He-rich material from a less evolved companion star in a close binary system. | 14 | Effect of Xiaochuanping powder on the inflammatory response and airway remodeling in asthmatic rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of Xiaochuanping powder(XP), a traditional Chinese prescription for the treatment of cough and asthma, on serum concentrations of eosinophil cationic protein(ECP), tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α, and interleukin(IL)-4, eosinophil counts, as well as expression of matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-9, tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase(TIMP)-1 in the lung tissues of asthmatic rats.METHODS: Sixty clean-grade Sprague-Dawley rats were divided randomly into six groups: normal control(NC), asthma model, Guilong Kechuanning(GK)group, as well as high-, intermediate-, and lowdose XP groups. Rats were sensitized with ovalbumin(OVA) to trigger asthma. Serum concentrations of ECP, TNF-α and IL-4, eosinophil counts, as well as expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in lung tissues were evaluated using an immunofluorescence method. m RNA expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 was determined using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction.RESULTS: Compared with the asthma-model group, serum concentrations of ECP, TNF-α, and IL-4, and eosinophil counts decreased significantly in the high-and intermediate-dose XP groups and GK group(all P < 0.01). Protein expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 decreased significantly in the high-and intermediate-dose XP groups and GK group(all P < 0.01). Transcription of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 m RNA and the ratio of expression of MMP-9: TIMP-1 in lung tissue were significantly lower(P < 0.01).CONCLUSION: XP can reduce TNF-α secretion, suppress the infiltration/activation of eosinophils, reduce serum concentrations of ECP and IL-4, reduce the protein and m RNA expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in lung tissue, and regulate the balance between expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1.
