1Quaternary biogenic opal records in the South China Sea: Linkages to East Asian monsoon, global ice volume and orbital forcing显示文摘Particulate fluxes investigated in the central South China Sea (SCS) during 1993―1996 indicate that opal flux can be used to show primary productivity change, which provides a foundation for tracing the evolutionary relationship between the surface productivity and East Asian monsoon in the SCS during the late Quaternary glacial and interglacial periods. Based on the studies of opal % and their mass accumulation rates (MAR) at the six sites recovered from the SCS during the “Resolution” ODP Leg 184 and “Sonne” 95 cruise of the Sino-Germany cooperation, opal % and their MARs increased evidently in the northern sites since 470―900 ka, and they enhanced and reduced, respectively, during the glacial and interglacial periods. Whereas they increased obviously in the southern sites since 420―450 ka, and they augmented and declined, respectively, during the interglacial and glacial periods. The vari- ability in opal % and their MARs in the late Quaternary glacial cyclicity indicate the “seesaw” pattern of surface productivity in the SCS. The winter monsoon intensified during the glacial periods, surface productivity increased and decreased, respectively, in the northern and southern SCS. The summer monsoon strengthened during the interglacial periods, surface productivity increased and decreased, respectively, in the southern and northern SCS. The cross spectral analyses between the opal % in the northern and southern SCS during the Quaternary and global ice volume (δ 18O) and orbital forcing (ETP) indicate that the East Asian winter and summer monsoons could be ascribed to the different drive mechanisms. On the orbital time scale, the global ice volume change could be a dominant factor for the winter monsoon intension and temporal variations. 2Late Quaternary ice-rafted detritus events in the Chukchi Basin, western Arctic Ocean显示文摘The late Quaternary ice rafted detritus (IRD) events in the Chukchi Basin, western Arctic Ocean are indications of the provenance of the coarser detritus and ice export events, and also document the evolutionary histories of Beaufort Gyre and the North American Ice Sheet (NAIS). The sediment of core M03 from the Chukchi Basin was selected to study the regional response to the ice export events and the NAIS variability. The stratigraphic framework of M03 was established by a combination of lithological features and downcore color change cycles, AMS14C dating with foraminifera abundance and IRD events. The core was also compared with the adjacent core NWR 5 from the Northwind Ridge area. The core extends back to Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 7. A sedimentary hiatus of 10―20 ka might occur between 16 to 20 cm core depth. Seven IRD events are distinguished from the studied core and are presented during the early MIS 1, MIS 3, MIS 5 and late MIS 7. 3A comparative study of seismic provisions between International Building Code 2003 and Uniform Building Code 1997显示文摘This study focuses on the comparison of the Uniform Building Code (UBC) 1997 and International Building Code (IBC) 2003 in relation to the seismic design and analysis of special steel moment resisting frame buildings (SMRF). This paper formulates a numerical study of a steel SMRF building, studied in four different situations, namely: as an office building in San Francisco; as an office building in Sacramento; as an essential facility in San Francisco, and as an essential facility in Sacramento. The analytical results of the model buildings are then compared and analyzed taking note of any significant differences. This case study explores variations in the results obtained using the two codes, particularly the design base shear and drift ratios as they relate to different locations and occupancy use. 4Stable oxygen and carbon isotopes from the planktonic foraminifera Neogloboquadrina pachyderma in the Western Arctic surface sediments:Implications for water mass distribution显示文摘Neogloboquadrina pachyderma is the most abundant planktonic foraminifera species found in the modern polar oceans.The δ18O and δ13C of N.pachyderma from the Western Arctic Ocean sediments were analyzed to reveal the implications of the proxies to environmental changes.The δ18O from N.pachyderma in the Chukchi Sea reflect the water mass distribution in this area.Heavier δ18O values were found along the Anadyr Current(AC) and lighter values in the central and eastern Chukchi Sea.These may reflect the freshwater signal from the Alaska Coastal Current(ACC) and Bering Sea Shelf Water(BSSW) .The light δ18O signature in the high Arctic basin comes from the freshwater stored in the Arctic surface layer.The δ13C distribution pattern in the Chukchi Sea is also influenced by the current system.High primary productivity along the AC results in heavy δ13C.The relatively low primary productivity and the freshwater component from the BSSW and ACC may be the reason for this light δ13C signal in the central and eastern Chukchi Sea.Our data reveal the importance of well ventilated Pacific Water through the Chukchi Sea into the Arctic Ocean.XIAO Wenshen WANG Rujian CHENG Xinrong 2011Advances in Polar Science2011,22,4:3
5Removal of Nitride from Shale Diesel Fraction with FeCl3-Based Ionic Liquids显示文摘FeCl3-based ionic liquid [Bmim]Br/FeCl3 with lower viscosity was synthesized and its structure was character-ized with FT-IR spectroscopy. The denitrogenation performance of the ionic liquid was investigated using the Fushun shale diesel fraction with high nitrogen content. Experimental results showed that the ionic liquid presented good denitrogenation performance and the basic N and total N removal efficiency can reach 95.29% and 89.77% under conditions covering a tem-perature of 30 ℃, an IL/oil mass ratio of 1:1, an extraction time of 30 min, and a settling time of 2 h. Correspondingly, the basic N and total N contents in shale diesel fraction dropped from the original 5454 μg/g and 9832 μg/g to 257 μg/g and 1006 μg/g, respectively. 6Removal of Basic Nitrogen Compounds from Diesel Fraction with NMP-0.5ZnCl_(2) Coordinated Ionic Liquid显示文摘An inexpensive coordinated ionic liquid NMP-0.5ZnCl_(2) was synthesized by reacting N-methyl-pyrrolidone with anhydrous ZnCl_(2),and its structure was characterized with FT-IR spectroscopy.The performance of IL for removing basic nitrogen compounds from model oil containing quinoline and actual coker diesel was studied.Experimental results showed that the IL,NMP-0.5ZnCl_(2),exhibited a good denitrogenation performance,which can be attributed to its low viscosity and unoccupied orbitals of Zn ion,while obtaining a 99.68%quinoline removal efficiency under conditions covering a temperature of 50℃,an IL/model oil mass ratio of 1:2,and a reaction time of 30 min.In the case of coker diesel,above a 91%basic N-removal efficiency(with N-content reduced from 536μg/g to 47μg/g)was realized by the IL after 5-stage extraction.Moreover,the quinoline extraction efficiency could still reach 96.73%during four recycles of the IL.Li Wenshen Ren Yongqi Li Jianxiang Zhao Zhijun Liu Jie 2021China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2021,23,1:3
7Paleoceanographic records and sea ice extension history on the slope of the northern Bering Sea over the last 100 ka B.P.显示文摘Quantitative analytic results of the biogenic components in Core B2-9 from the northern Bering Sea slope indicate that the coarse fraction and opal content, serving as proxies of surface productivity, have increased stepwise since the marine isotope stage(MIS)5.3, reflecting periodic enhancement in surface productivity.The surface productivity attained its highest level during the Holocene, followed by MIS 3.2 to 2 and then MIS 5.3 to 3.3 with a lowest level. High total organic carbon(TOC) contents, together with high C/N ratios, which stand mostly between 7 and 20, show that the TOC was deposited from mixing sources. Therefore,one has to be cautious to use TOC as a proxy of surface productivity.The high TOC and C/N ratio during MIS 5.1, 3.3 to 3.2 and the Holocene reflect that the terrigenous organic matter input increased during interglacial periods.Increases in the fine- and silt-grained terrigenous components from MIS 5.3 to the middle Holocene imply that with the cooling climate, sea ice on the Bering Sea slope extended continuously. Ice-rafted and charcoal detritus increased during glacial, interstadial and the last deglaciation periods and decreased during interglacial periods, suggesting that sea ice on the slope increased and melted, respectively, during glacial and interglacial periods. 8Paleoenvironmental implications of Holocene long-chain n-alkanes on the northern Bering Sea Slope显示文摘The records of high-resolution terrestrial biological markers(biomarkers) from Core B2-9 from the northern Bering Sea Slope over the last 9.6 ka BP were presented in the study.Variations in input of terrestrial long-chain nalkanes(referred to as n-alkanes) and vegetation structure in their source regions were investigated.The results show that the nC_(27) is the main carbon peak and has the greatest contribution rate of the total n-alkane content;this might be related to the abundance of woody plants and their spatial distribution in the source region.nC_(23) is another n-alkane having a relatively high content;this was mainly derived from submerged plants widespread along the coastal areas in the northern hemisphere.Total n-alkane content dropped quickly at ca.7.8 ka BP,ca.6.7 ka BP and ca.5.4 ka BP,and was followed by four relatively stable stages mostly controlled by sea-level rise,climate change and vegetation distribution in the source region.Variation in carbon preference index(CPI)indicates that the n-alkanes primarily originated from higher land plants,and the average chain length(ACL) and nC_(31)/nC_(27) ratio reveal the relatively stable presence of woody/herbaceous plants during the Holocene,and dominate woody plants in most of the time.Simultaneous variation in total n-alkane content,nC_(27) content and its contribution,CPI,ACL and nC_(31)/nC_(27) ratio over several short periods suggest that the growth rate of the woody plant n-alkane contribution was lower than that of herbaceous plants and fossil n-alkanes under the particular climatic conditions of the source region.ZHANG Haifeng WANG Rujian XIAO Wenshen 2017Acta Oceanologica Sinica2017,36,8:2
9Bitumen Recovery from Indonesian Oil Sands Using ASP(Alkali, Surfactant and Polymer) Agent显示文摘A self-developed ASP agent was used to separate bitumen from Indonesia's oil sands by its comprehensive effect and the separation condition was well investigated. The bitumen extraction conditions for industrial application were recommended to cover a mixing temperature of 80℃, a mixing time of 40 min, a mass ratio of ASP agent to oil sands of 4:10, and a floating time of 10 min. Under the above conditions, the bitumen recovery was about 86% and the residual bitumen content in tailings was about 6%. The relationship between the residual bitumen content and the particle size of tailings was studied in order to find the way to reducing the residual bitumen content in tailings. The results showed that the residual bitumen content in tailings decreased with a decreasing tailings particle size. After being milled for 30 min with a mortar, the tailings was reprocessed via extraction by means of the ASP agent, and the residual bitumen content in tailings decreased from 5.47% to 1.25%, which could comply with the disposal requirements.Li Wenshen Guo Xiaowen Liu Jie 2018China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2018,20,1:2

12Removal of Basic Nitrogen Compounds from Coker Diesel by Eutectic Ionic Liquid显示文摘The eutectic ionic liquid(EIL) tetraethyl ammonium bromide-malonic acid(TEAB-Mal) was synthesized, with its structure characterized by the FT-IR spectroscopy and the 1 H NMR spectrometry. The performance for removal of basic nitrogen compounds by EIL was studied using coker diesel as the feedstock. Experimental results showed that the EIL(TEAB-Mal) exhibited a good denitrogenation performance, leading to a 93.6% of basic N-removal efficiency under reaction conditions covering: a temperature of 30 °C, an EIL to oil mass ratio of 1:1, an extraction time of 30 min, and a settling time of 120 min, while the basic nitrogen content in diesel dropped from 580 μg/g to 37 μg/g. 13Anti-Seizure and Neuronal Protective Effects of Irisin in Kainic Acid-Induced Chronic Epilepsy Model with Spontaneous Seizures显示文摘An increased level of reactive oxygen species is a key factor in neuronal apoptosis and epileptic seizures.Irisin reportedly attenuates the apoptosis and injury induced by oxidative stress.Therefore,we evaluated the effects of exogenous irisin in a kainic acid(KA)-induced chronic spontaneous epilepsy rat model.The results indicated that exogenous irisin significantly attenuated the KA-induced neuronal injury,learning and memory defects,and seizures.Irisin treatment also increased the levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)and uncoupling protein 2(UCP2),which were initially reduced following KA administration.Furthermore,the specific inhibitor of UCP2(genipin)was administered to evaluate the possible protective mechanism of irisin.The reduced apoptosis,neurodegeneration,and spontaneous seizures in rats treated with irisin were significantly reversed by genipin administration.Our findings indicated that neuronal injury in KA-induced chronic epilepsy might be related to reduced levels of BDNF and UCP2.Moreover,our results confirmed the inhibition of neuronal injury and epileptic seizures by exogenous irisin.The protective effects of irisin may be mediated through the BDNF-mediated UCP2 level.Our results thus highlight irisin as a valuable therapeutic strategy against neuronal injury and epileptic seizures.Jie Yu Yao Cheng Yaru Cui Yujie Zhai Wenshen Zhang Mengdi Zhang Wenyu Xin Jia Liang Xiaohong Pan Qiaoyun Wang Hongliu Sun 2022Neuroscience Bulletin2022,38,11:1
