| 1 | Relationship between phenotypes of cell-function differentiation and pathobiological behavior of gastric carcinomas显示文摘AIM To reveal the correlation between thefunctional differentiation phenotypes of gastriccarcinoma cells and the invasion and metastasisby a new way of cell-function classification.METHODS Surgically resected specimens of361 gastric carcinomas (GC) were investigatedwith enzyme-, mucin-, and tumor-related markerimmunohistochemist ry. According to thedirection of cell-function differentiation,stomach carcinomas were divided into fivefunctionally differentiated types.iation type (AFDT): there were 82 (22.7%)patients including 76 (92.7%) aged 45 years.Sixty-nine (84.1%) cases belonged to theintestinal type. Thirty-eight (46.3%) expressedCD44v6 and 9 (13.6%) of 66 male patientsdeveloped liver metastasis. The 5-year survivalrate of patients in this group (58.5%) was higherMucin secreting function differentiation type(MSFDT): 54 (15%) cases. Fifty-three (98.1%)tumors had penetrated the serosa, 12 (22.2%)expressed ER and 22 (40.7%) expressedCD44v6. The postoperative 5-year survival ratefunction differentiation type (AMPFDT): therewere 180 (49.9%) cases, including 31 (17.2%)aged yanger than 45 years. The tumor was morecommon in women (62, 34.4%,) and expressedmore frequently estrogen receptors (ER) ( 129,81.7%) than other types (P<0.01). Ovarymetastasis was found in 12 (19.4%) out of 62female subjects. The patients with this type GChad the lowest 5-year survival rate (24.7%)differentiation type (SFDT): 13 (3.6%) cases.Nine (69.2%) tumors of this type derived fromAPUD system, the other 4 (30.7%) were ofdifferent histological differentiation. Sixty percent of the patients survived at least five years.(8.9%) cases. Nineteen (59.4%) cases hadlymph node metastases but no one with liver orovary metastasis. The 5-year survival rate was28.1%.CONCLUSION This new cell-functionclassification of GC is helpful in indicating thecharacteristics of invasion and metastasis of GCwith different cell-function differentiationphenotypes. | 2 | The Effects of Demographic Features on Differences in Sensitivity between PCL-C and SCL-90 Scores in a Follow-up Study in Secondary School Students in the Wenchuan Earthquake Region显示文摘Objective To analyze the sensitivity of effect factors between the PCL‐C and the SCL‐90,to provide evidence for social psychological crisis screening and post‐trauma interventions.Methods We administered the PCL‐C and SCL‐90 to screen for PTSD and other psychological problems among students who survived the disaster and continued their school studies.The surveys were carried out 3,6,9,and 12 months after the earthquake.A bivariate 2‐level logistic model was used to explore the different levels of sensitivity among students.The factors influencing the relationships between PTSD and depression,and between PTSD and anxiety were examined.Results We analyzed data from 1 677 students,revealing that female students in higher grades were more likely to exhibit symptoms of depression,rather than PTSD,compared with the control group (males in lower grades),and the difference was significant (P<0.05).In contrast,ethnic minorities were more likely to exhibit PTSD symptoms compared to the others.In addition,female students were more likely to exhibit symptoms of anxiety than PTSD.Other effects that did not reach statistical significance were suggested to have a similar influence on PTSD,depression,and anxiety.Conclusion After a natural disaster,specific aspects of depression and anxiety should be examined,avoiding an overemphasis on PTSD in social psychological crisis interventions. | HOU Feng Su LI Ting LI Juan HU Xiao Qin LIU Zhi Yue YUAN Ping | 2011 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011，24，6： | 11 |
| 3 | Relationship between Maternal PBMC HBV cccDNA and HBV Serological Markers and its Effect on HBV Intrauterine Transmission显示文摘Objective To investigate the relationship between maternal peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) hepatitis B virus(HBV) covalenty closed circular deoxyribonucleic acid(cccDNA) and other HBV serological markers and its effects on HBV intrauterine transmission. Methods We enrolled 290 newborns and their hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg) positive mothers. HBV cccDNA in PBMC and HBV DNA in serum were detected by a real‐time PCR‐TaqM an probe while HBV serological markers were detected with an electrochemiluminescence immunoassay. Results There was a positive correlation between the levels of PBMC HBV cccD NA and serum HBV DNA and HBeA g(r = 0.436 and 0.403, P < 0.001). The detection rate of pattern A [‘HBsA g(+), HBeA g(+), and anti‐HBc(+)’] was significantly higher in the PBMC HBV cccD NA positive group than in the control group(χ^2 = 48.48, P < 0.001). There was a significant association between HBV intrauterine transmission and PBMC HBV cccD NA(χ^2 = 9.28, P = 0.002). In the presence of serum HBV DNA, HBeA g, and PBMC HBV cccD NA, the risk of HBV intrauterine transmission was three times higher(OR = 3.69, 95% CI: 1.30‐10.42) than that observed in their absence. The risk of HBV intrauterine transmission was the greatest(OR = 5.89, 95% CI: 2.35‐14.72) when both PBMC HBV cccD NA and pattern A were present. A Bayesian network model showed that maternal PBMC HBV cccD NA was directly related to HBV intrauterine transmission. Conclusion PBMC HBV cccDNA may be a direct risk factor for HBV intrauterine transmission. | 4 | Determination of aniline in environmental water samples by alternating-current oscillopolarographic titration显示文摘A new method for the determination of aniline in environmental water based on oscillopolarographic titration was presented in this paper. Several factors including the kind, concentration, and volume of acid, the dosage of potassium bromide, the temperature and concentration of concomitant substances were investigated in detail. The experimental results indicated that this method was simple, rapid, and sensitive. The linear range was 8.367×10-4 to 2.789×10-2 mol L-1, the relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) was lower than 0.96%, and the spiked recoveries of aniline in environmental water samples were in the range of 99.4-106.9% under the optimal conditions. | 8 | The Role of Diesel Soot in the Tribological Behavior of 150SN Base Oil显示文摘The diesel soot was collected from diesel engine exhaust pipe. The morphology and structure of the collected diesel soot was characterized by HRTEM, XRD and XPS and its tribological behavior was investigated by a SRV IV oscillating reciprocating friction and wear tester. Test results showed that the tribological behavior of diesel soot was largely influenced by the test load. Under a low load, the diesel soot could reduce the wear volume of the disc. While under a high load, the diesel soot could reduce the friction coefficient of base oil. Based on the characterization of the worn scars by the SEM technique, the 3D surface profiler and the Raman spectroscopy, it was assumed that the core-shell structure of diesel soot with several graphitic layers played important roles. On one hand, its spherical and special structure could make it roll between friction pairs to reduce wear under a low load. | 11 | Kinetic Characteristics of Neutralizing Antibody Responses Vary among Patients with COVID-19显示文摘Objective The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) pandemic continues to present a major challenge to public health. Vaccine development requires an understanding of the kinetics of neutralizing antibody(NAb) responses to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).Methods In total, 605 serum samples from 125 COVID-19 patients(from January 1 to March 14, 2020)varying in age, sex, severity of symptoms, and presence of underlying diseases were collected, and antibody titers were measured using a micro-neutralization assay with wild-type SARS-CoV-2.Results NAbs were detectable approximately 10 days post-onset(dpo) of symptoms and peaked at approximately 20 dpo. The NAb levels were slightly higher in young males and severe cases, while no significant difference was observed for the other classifications. In follow-up cases, the NAb titer had increased or stabilized in 18 cases, whereas it had decreased in 26 cases, and in one case NAbs were undetectable at the end of our observation. Although a decreasing trend in NAb titer was observed in many cases, the NAb level was generally still protective.Conclusion We demonstrated that NAb levels vary among all categories of COVID-19 patients. | 16 | Gas-in-place and its influence factors of the upper Paleozoic coal-bearing shale in the Qinshui Basin, China显示文摘Coal-bearing shale shows great potential for unconventional gas resources in China, while its exploration and development have been challenging for a long time. Gas-in-place (GIP) is critical to shale gas evaluation, but the major factors controlling the GIP content of coal-bearing shale remain unclear. To address this issue, the coal-bearing shales of the upper Carboniferous-lower Permian Taiyuan and Shanxi formations in the Zuoquan Block, Qinshui Basin, China, were collected for GIP measurements and an integrated investigation, including organic geochemistry, inorganic mineral compositions, and pore characterizations, was carried out. Our results show that the GIP content of the studied shales displays relatively low values and wide variations, which range from 0.30 to 2.28 m^(3)/t. The GIP is dominated by desorbed gas and residual gas. Total organic carbon (TOC) contents of the studied shales vary from 0.92% to 16.91%, and inorganic minerals are dominated by clays that mainly consist of illite/smectite mixed layer (I/S) and kaolinite. Inorganic pores have been widely observed in the studied shales, while the organic matter-hosted pores are rarely found using SEM observations. Total porosity of the studied shales is primarily contributed by clay minerals, followed by organic matter and quartz. Weak positive relationships between the GIP content and pore structure parameters imply that the adsorption of methane to nanopores is relatively weak, which may be attributed to the hydrophilicity of clay-hosted pores. Moreover, hydrophobic organic pores are not well developed. Positive correlations between the GIP contents and contents of TOC, clays, and the I/S indicate that major factors influencing the GIP contents of the coal-bearing shales are clays (especially I/S) and TOC content.
