3CuFe2O4@GO nanocomposite as an effective and recoverable catalyst of peroxymonosulfate activation for degradation of aqueous dye pollutants显示文摘Recently,heterogeneous activation of peroxymonosulfate(PMS) to oxidatively degrade organic pollutants has been a hotspot.In the present work,copper ferrite-graphite oxide hybrid(CuFe2 O4@GO)was prepared and used as catalyst to activate PMS for degradation of methylene blue(MB) in aqueous solution.A high degradation efficiency(93.3%) was achieved at the experimental conditions of20 mg/L MB,200 mg/L CuFe2 O4@GO,0.8 mmol/L PMS,and 25℃temperature.Moreover,CuFe2 O4@GO showed an excellent reusability and stability.The effects of various operational parameters including pollutant type,solution pH,catalyst dosage,PMS dosage,pollutant concentration,temperature,natural organic matter(NOM),and inorganic anions on the catalytic degradation process were comprehensively investigated and elucidated.The further mechanistic study revealed the Cu(Ⅱ)/Cu(Ⅰ) redox couple on CuFe2 O4@GO played the dominant role in PMS activation,where both hydroxyl and sulfate radicals were generated and proceeded the degradation of pollutants.In general,CuFe2 O4@GO is a promising heterocatalyst for PMS-based advanced oxidation processes(AOPs) in wastewater treatment.Xiaoman Lei Menghan You Fei Pan Min Liu Peng Yang Dongsheng Xia Qiang Li Yanting Wang Jie Fu 2019Chinese Chemical Letters2019,30,12:8
4Adsorption behaviors of Cd^(2+) on Fe_2O_3/MnO_2 and the effects of coexisting ions under alkaline conditions显示文摘This study describes the adsorption features of cadmium on Fe2O3 and MnO2 in alkaline saline conditions. The adsorption reached equilibrium in 6 hours under alkaline conditions. The absorption of cadmium on Fe2O3 and MnO2 was consistent with Freundlich absorption isotherms, and the corresponding adsorption capacities were 16.3 and 16.7 mg·g-1, respectively. Moreover, the adsorption quantity of cadmium on Fe2O3 and MnO2 rose with increas-ing pH from acidic to neutral, and reached the maximum at pH= 9. The coexisting chlorides reduced the adsorption capacity of Fe2O3 and MnO2. The influence intensities of different cations follow the order of CaCl2>>KCl>NaCl. However, the influence of sodium salts on the capacities of Fe2O3 and MnO2 to adsorb cadmium appeared more complicated: the relatively low concentrations of sodium salts could reduce the adsorption capacity; with increasing concentrations of sodium salts, e.g. NaCl and NaNO3. the adsorption capacity decreased continually. 5Progress on design and related R&D activities for the water-cooled breeder blanket for CFETR显示文摘The water-cooled ceramic breeder (WCCB) blanket is one of the blanket candidates for Chinese fusion engineering testing reactor (CFETR) and is being developed at the Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP). This paper reviews design and evolution of the WCCB blanket for CFETR, and presents a new WCCB blanket design according to the latest CFETR core parameters (major and minor radii are R = 7.2 m and a = 2.2 m, respectively) and missions. This new design is expected to satisfy multiple CFETR operation modes of 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 GW fusion power and achieve tritium self-sufficiency. The feasibility of the updated blanket design is evaluated from the aspects of neutronics and thermo-hydraulics. 6Evolutionary perspectives on novel coronaviruses identified in pneumonia cases in China显示文摘Coronaviruses,such as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARSCoV)and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus(MERS-CoV),are highly transmissible pathogens,and they can be lethal in humans.Bats are believed to be the original sources of these lethal pathogens.In December 2019,a cluster of pneumonia cases was reported in W uhan and a novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV,now officially named as SARSCoV-2)has been linked to the causative agent.Early studies indicated that the new virus was genetically similar to a bat betacoronavirus,providing evidence for bat origin of the third human-infecting coronavirus in less than 20 years.We here highlight the potential for viral spillover from animals to humans and discuss evolutionary mechanisms leading to the outbreaks.Xiaoman Wei Xiang Li Jie Cui 2020National Science Review2020,7,2:6
7Vanillin and its derivatives,potential promising antifungal agents,inhibit Aspergillus flavus spores via destroying the integrity of cell membrane rather than cell wall显示文摘To study the structure-antifungal activity of vanillin against Aspergillus flavus(A.flavus),the susceptibilities of A.flavus to vanillin and its isomers(o-vanillin,2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzaldehyde(HMB),2-hydroxy-5-methoxybenzaldehyde)and the possible antifungal mechanisms have been investigated.All the four volatile aldehydes could inhibit the germination of spores,and the minimum inhibitory concentrations(MICs)of them were in this order:vanillin(200μg/mL),o-vanillin(100μg/mL),2-hydroxy-5-methoxybenzaldehyde(100μg/mL),HMB(70μg/mL).The minimum fungicidal concentrations(MFCs)of them were in this order:vanillin(240μg/mL),o-vanillin(160μg/mL),HMB(140μg/mL),2-hydroxy-5-methoxybenzaldehyde(140μg/mL).Spore size was arrested at 0 h with the treatment of the four volatile aldehydes.Effects of the four volatile aldehydes on the cell wall and cell membrane integrity of A flavus were observed by calcofluor white(CW)staining and propidium iodide(PI)staining.The results showed that HMB exerted the strongest antifungal and fungicidal effects on the growth of A.flavus.The four volatile aldehydes had little influence on cell wall integrity after 3-hour treatment,however,they could strongly damage the cell membrane integrity.All the four volatile aldehydes could effectively prevent the growth of A.flavus on peanut seeds.The antifungal mechanisms of the four volatile aldehydes provide theoretical foundations for their development of new antifungal agents.Qian Li Xiaoman Zhu 2021Grain & Oil Science and Technology2021,4,2:5
8Characterization of four hemocyanin isoforms in Litopenaeus vannamei显示文摘In this study, the gene encoding hemocyanin subunit L, Lv Hc L, was cloned from Litopenaeus vannamei and the genomic organization was characterized. This gene was diverse with many SNPs and also had at least four isoforms, while one of them(Lv Hc L4) only had two exons and the exon2 was missed. Transcription analysis showed that these isoforms of Lv Hc L were up-regulated after WSSV challenge in WSSV-resistant shrimp, while the transcriptions were decreased constantly in WSSV-susceptible shrimp. It is suggested that the hemocyanin had rich polymorphism and was involved in the antiviral response. 9Biosynthesis of selenosubtilisin: A novel way to target selenium into the active site of subtilisin显示文摘Glutathione peroxidase (GPx, EC1.11.1.9), an important anti-oxidative selenoenzyme, can catalyze the reduction of harmful hydroperoxides with concomitant glutathione, thereby protecting cells and other biological issues against oxidative damage. It captures considerable interest in redesign of its function for either the mechanism study or the pharmacological development as an antioxidant. In order to de- velop a general strategy for specifically targeting and operating selenium in active sites of enzymes, the catalytically essential residue selenocysteine (Sec) was first successfully bioincorporated into the catalytic center of subtilisin by using an auxotrophic expression system. The studies of the catalytic activity and the steady-state kinetics demonstrated that selenosubtilisin is an excellent GPx-like bio- catalyst. In comparison with the chemically modified method, biosynthesis exhibits obvious advan- tages: Sec could be site-directly incorporated into active sites of enzymes to overcome the non-speci- ficity generated by chemical modification. 11Polymorphism of human cytomegalovirus(HCMV) UL144 gene in low passage clinical isolates显示文摘To explore the impact of gene polymorphism of human cytomegalovirus(HCMV)on virus virulence,the full-length UL144 gene and partial sequence of glycoprotein B(UL55)gene were sequenced and analyzed for 23clinical strains of HCMV isolated from urine samples of pediatric patients with congenital or postnatal HCMV infection.Among the 23 isolates,13(57%)were UL144genotype 1A,3(13%)were UL144 genotypes 2 and 7(30%)were UL144 genotype 3;geographic differences in genotype distribution were found for both UL144 and gB gene.No UL144 genotypes 1B and 1C were found in this study while these two genotypes were common in HCMV strains isolated in the US.Our results also demonstrated that for all clinical strains of gB genotypes I,III and UL144genotypes 1A,2,and 3 found in this study,mother-to-fetus vertical transmission was possible.Xingxing Fu Liping Li Chaoyang Huang Xiaoman Li Huadong Wang Zhenyuan Xie Ze Chen 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,25:3
12Pan-genome of Raphanus highlights genetic variation and introgression among domesticated,wild,and weedy radishes显示文摘Post-polyploid diploidization associated with descending dysploidy and interspecific introgression drives plant genome evolution by unclear mechanisms.Raphanus is an economically and ecologically important Brassiceae genus and model system for studying post-polyploidization genome evolution and introgres-sion.Here,we report the de novo sequence assemblies for 11 genomes covering most of the typical sub-species and varieties of domesticated,wild and weedy radishes from East Asia,South Asia,Europe,and America.Divergence among the species,sub-species,and South/East Asian types coincided with Quaternary glaciations.A genus-level pan-genome was constructed with family-based,locus-based,and graph-based methods,and whole-genome comparisons revealed genetic variations ranging from single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)to inversions and translocations of whole ancestral karyotype(AK)blocks.Extensive gene flow occurred between wild,weedy,and domesticated radishes.High fre-quencies of genome reshuffling,biased retention,and large-fragment translocation have shaped the genomic diversity.Most variety-specific gene-rich blocks showed large structural variations.Extensive translocation and tandem duplication of dispensable genes were revealed in two large rearrangement-rich islands.Disease resistance genes mostly resided on specific and dispensable loci.Variations causing the loss of function of enzymes modulating gibberellin deactivation were identified and could play an important role in phenotype divergence and adaptive evolution.This study provides new insights into the genomic evolution underlying post-polyploid diploidization and lays the foundation for genetic improve-ment of radish crops,biological control of weeds,and protection of wild species'germplasms.Xiaohui Zhang Tongjin Liu Jinglei Wang Peng Wang Yang Qiu Wei Zhao Shuai Pang Xiaoman Li Haiping Wang Jiangping Song Wenlin Zhang Wenlong Yang Yuyan Sun Xixiang Li 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,12:3
13The Functional Characterization of Bat and Human P[3] Rotavirus VP8*s显示文摘P[3]rotavirus(RV)has been identified in many species,including human,simian,dog,and bat.Several glycans,including sialic acid,histo-blood group antigens(HBGAs)are reported as RV attachment factors.The glycan binding specificity of different P[3]RV VP8*s were investigated in this study.Human HCR3 A and dog P[3]RV VP8*s recognized glycans with terminal sialic acid and hemagglutinated the red blood cells,while bat P[3]VP8*showed neither binding to glycans nor hemagglutination.However,the bat P[3]VP8*mutant of C189 Y obtained the ability to hemagglutinate the red blood cells,while human P[3]HCR3 A/M2-102 mutants of Y189 C lost the ability.Sequence alignment and structural analysis indicated that residue 189 played an important role in the ligand recognition and may contribute to the cross-species transmission.Structural superimposition exhibited that bat P[3]VP8*model was quite different from the simian P[3]Rhesus rotavirus(RRV)P[3]VP8*,indicating that bat P[3]RV was relatively distinct and partially contributed to the no binding to tested glycans.These results promote our understanding of P[3]VP8*/glycans interactions and the potential transmission of bat/human P[3]RVs,offering more insight into the RV infection and prevalence.Dandi Li Mengxuan Wang Tongyao Mao Mingwen Wang Qing Zhang Hong Wang Lili Pang Xiaoman Sun Zhaojun Duan 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,5:3
14Antifungal properties and mechanisms of three volatile aldehydes(octanal,nonanal and decanal)on Aspergillus flavus显示文摘The harmof Aspergillus flavus(A.flavus)and aflatoxin is a severe food safety problemworldwide,which causes huge economic losses every year.Therefore,it is urgent to control the growth of A.flavus and the biosynthesis of aflatoxin.Plant-derived natural compounds are superior to synthetic fungicide in inhibiting the growth of A.flavus benefiting from their high safety to the environment,humans and stock,and low cost.This study aimed to evaluate the antifungal effects and potential antifungal mechanisms of three plant-derived compounds(octanal,nonanal and decanal)against A.flavus.We determined the minimum inhibitory concentrations(MICs)and action mechanism of the three volatile aldehydes on A.flavus and also performed calcofluor white(CW)staining for visualizing the distribution of septa.Cell respiration metabolism and the pathogenicity on maize kernels were also carried out to evaluate the efficacy of the three volatile aldehydes on the growth of A.flavus.The results showed that the three volatile aldehydes could inhibit the germination of spores and mycelial growth of A.flavus,the MICs on spores and mycelia were:octanal(1.0 and 0.5μL/mL),nonanal(0.5 and 2.0μL/mL),and decanal(1 and 5μL/mL).The three volatile aldehydes could strongly damage the integrity of both the cell wall and the cell membrane of A.flavus.Meanwhile,they could decrease the content of total lipid and inhibit respiration metabolism of A.flavus cell.Results of in vitro antifungal test showed that all the three volatile aldehydes could effectively prevent the growth of A.flavus on maize kernels.The study revealed that octanal,nonanal and decanal could effectively inhibit the growth of A.flavus both in culture medium and on maize kernels to different extent.The results confirmed that the plant-derived compounds could be developed into promising antifungal agents applied in the preservation of grains.This study provides a theoretical basis for the research and application of potential antifungal agents.Qian Li Xiaoman Zhu Yanli Xie Jingmeng Liang 2021Grain & Oil Science and Technology2021,4,3:2

19In situ instant generation of an ultrabroadband near-infrared emission center in bismuth-doped borosilicate glasses via a femtosecond laser显示文摘Bismuth(Bi)-doped photonic materials, which exhibit broadband near-infrared(NIR) luminescence(1000–1600 nm), are evolving into interesting gain media. However, the traditional methods have shown their limitations in enhancing Bi NIR emission, especially in the microregion. Consequently, the typical NIR emission has seldom been achieved in Bi-doped waveguides, which highly restricts the application of Bi-activated materials.Here, superbroadband Bi NIR emission is induced in situ instantly in the grating region by a femtosecond(fs)laser inside borosilicate glasses. A series of structural and spectroscopic characterizations are summoned to probe the generation mechanism. And we show how this novel NIR emission in the grating region can be enhanced significantly and erased reversibly.
