1Human placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cells loaded on linear ordered collagen scaffold improves functional recovery after completely transected spinal cord injury in canine显示文摘Traumatic spinal cord injury(SCI) is a major challenge in the clinic. In this study, we sought to examine the synergistic effects of linear ordered collagen scaffold(LOCS) and human placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cells(hPMSCs) when transplanted into completely transected beagle dogs. After 36 weeks observation, we found that LOCS+hPMSCs implants promoted better hindlimb locomotor recovery than was observed in the non-treatment(control) group and LOCS group. Histological analysis showed that the regenerated tissue after treatment was well integrated with the host tissue, and dramatically reduced the volume of cystic and chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans(CSPGs) expression. Furthermore, the LOCS+hPMSCs group also showed more neuron-specific βIII-tubulin(Tuj-1)-and NeuN-positive neurons in the lesion area, as well as axonal regeneration, remyelination and synapse formation in the lesion site. Additionally, dogs in the LOCS+hPMSCs group experienced enhanced sprouting of both ascending(CGRP-positive) sensory fibers and descending(5-HT-and TH-positive) motor fibers at the lesion area. All these data together suggested that the combined treatment had beneficial effects on neuronal regeneration and functional improvement in a canine complete transection model. 2Recent Advances in Self-Supported Layered Double Hydroxides for Oxygen Evolution Reaction显示文摘Electrochemical water splitting driven by clean and sustainable energy sources to produce hydrogen is an efficient and environmentally friendly energy conversion technology.Water splitting involves hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER),in which OER is the limiting factor and has attracted extensive research interest in the past few years.Conventional noble-metal-based OER electrocatalysts like IrO_(2) and RuO_(2) suffer from the limitations of high cost and scarce availability.Developing innovative alternative nonnoble metal electrocatalysts with high catalytic activity and long-term durability to boost the OER process remains a significant challenge.Among all of the candidates for OER catalysis,selfsupported layered double hydroxides(LDHs)have emerged as one of the most promising types of electrocatalysts due to their unique layered structures and high electrocatalytic activity.In this review,we summarize the recent progress on self-supported LDHs and highlight their electrochemical catalytic performance.Specifically,synthesis methods,structural and compositional parameters,and influential factors for optimizing OER performance are discussed in detail.Finally,the remaining challenges facing the development of self-supported LDHs are discussed and perspectives on their potential for use in industrial hydrogen production through water splitting are provided to suggest future research directions.Libo Wu Luo Yu Xin Xiao Fanghao Zhang Shaowei Song Shuo Chen Zhifeng Ren 2020Research2020,,1:7
3Estimation of genetic parameters for upper thermal tolerance and growth-related traits in turbot Scophthalmus maximus using the Bayesian method based on Gibbs sampling显示文摘In order to carry out the genetic improvement of turbot upper thermal tolerance, it is necessary to estimate the genetic parameters of UTT(upper thermal tolerance) and growth-related traits. The objective of this study was to estimate genetic parameters for BW(body weight) and UTT in a two-generational turbot(Scophthalmus maximus L.) pedigree derived from four imported turbot stocks(England, France, Denmark and Norway). A total of 42 families including 20 families from G1 generation and 22 families from G2 generation were used to test upper thermal tolerance(40–50 animals per family) in this study and the body weight of individuals were measured. The heritability of BW and UTT and the correlation between these two traits were estimated based on an individual animal model using Bayesian method based on two types of animal models with and without maternal effects.These results showed that the heritabilities for BW and UTT and phenotypic and genetic correlations between the two traits estimated from model without maternal effects were 0.239±0.141, 0.111±0.080, 0.075±0.026 and–0.019±0.011, respectively. The corresponding values from model with maternal effects were 0.203±0.115,0.055±0.026, 0.047±0.034 and –0.024±0.028, respectively. The maternal effects of BW and UTT were 0.050±0.017 and 0.013±0.004, respectively. The maternal effects had a certain influence on the genetic evaluation of the two traits. 4Effect of pulsatile perfusion during cardiopulmonary bypass in terms of radial artery sphygmogram显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate a quantitative method for using radial artery pulse waveforms to assess the effect of pulsatile flow during cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB).METHODS: A total of 34 adults with heart disease who underwent open-heart surgery between April2010 and January 2011 were randomized into a pulsatile perfusion group(n=17) and a non-pulsatile perfusion group(n=17). Radial arterial pulse waveforms of pulsatile and non-pulsatile perfusion patients were observed and compared before and during CPB.RESULTS: No pulse waveform could be detected at patients' radial artery in both groups when the aorta was cross-clamped. Pulse waveforms could be detected at pulsatile perfusion patients' radial artery, but could not be detected at non-pulsatile perfusion patients' radial artery during CPB. 6Space-based information service in Internet Plus Era显示文摘'Internet Plus' represents a new form of society that provides a vast platform for reform, innovation,and development. Given the continued integration of the Internet in many fields, Internet Plus is profoundly transforming and influencing a variety of traditional industries. Internet Plus has created conditions favorable for the transformation of earth observation and satellite navigation into an intelligent and real-time geospatial information service. The authors propose that in order to implement continuous, all-weather, all-terrain services for the specific purposes of each individual, it will be necessary to overcome the flaws in existing space-based information systems, such as limited regional coverage, slow response, and weak interoperability. Furthermore, to meet the Big Data Era's geospatial information service requirements, an 'Internet Plus Space-Based Information Service' system, intrinsically linked to ground Internet networks, will have to be constructed. With reference to the developments of aerospace information technology, this paper discusses three levels of the proposed structure of the Internet Plus space-based information service system and ideas for its implementation. 7Electrospinning preparation and characterization of polyoxometalate fibers显示文摘Poly(vinyl alcohol)/K7[SiW11O39Co(H3P2- O7)] hybrid fine fiber mats (PVA/SiW11Co-P2O7) were prepared through electrospinning technique. After calcinations of PVA/SiW11Co-P2O7 at 500℃ for 8 h, pure SiW11Co-P2O7 fine fibers were obtained with the Keggin structure keeping unchanged. The fiber mats were characterized by IR, ESR, PXRD and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) methods. The average diameter of the fibers is about 250 nm. 8Study on topographic compensation model of the Okinawa Trough Ⅱ. Geological interpretation of isostatic response function of the Okinawa Trough显示文摘Based on regional compensation model and experimental isostasy, the isostatic response function of the Okinawa Trough is calculated by using gravity and topographic data. The results are shown as follows: the effective elastic thickness of the plate and compensation depth in the southern Okinawa Trough is obviously greater than those in the middle Okinawa Trough. 10Single‐atomic Co‐B_(2)N_(2)sites anchored on carbon nanotube arrays promote lithium polysulfide conversion in lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Due to low cost,high capacity,and high energy density,lithium–sulfur(Li–S)batteries have attracted much attention;however,their cycling performance was largely limited by the poor redox kinetics and low sulfur utilization.Herein,predicted by density functional theory calculations,single‐atomic Co‐B2N2 site‐imbedded boron and nitrogen co‐doped carbon nanotubes(SA‐Co/BNC)were designed to accomplish high sulfur loading,fast kinetic,and long service period Li–S batteries.Experiments proved that Co‐B2N2 atomic sites can effectively catalyze lithium polysulfide conversion.Therefore,the electrodes delivered a specific capacity of 1106 mAh g−1 at 0.2 C after 100 cycles and exhibited an outstanding cycle performance over 1000 cycles at 1 C with a decay rate of 0.032%per cycle.Our study offers a new strategy to couple the combined effect of nanocarriers and single‐atomic catalysts in novel coordination environments for high‐performance Li–S batteries.Zhifeng Wang Yajing Yan Yongguang Zhang Yanxu Chen Xianyun Peng Xin Wang Weimin Zhao Chunling Qin Qian Liu Xijun Liu Zhongwei Chen 2023Carbon Energy2023,5,11:1
