| 1 | Sinomenine reduces iNOS expressionvia inhibiting the T-bet IFN-γ pathway in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis in rats显示文摘Sinomenine is a bioactive alkaloid isolated from the Chinese medicinal plant Sinomenium acutum.It is widely used as an immunosuppressive drug for treating rheumatic and arthritic diseases.In our previous studies,we found that sinomenine reduced cellular infiltration within the spinal cord and alleviated experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE) in rats.In this study,we further investigated the mechanisms of sinomenine treatment in EAE rats.In EAE rats,treatment with sinomenine exerted an anti-inducible NO synthase(anti-iNOS) effect,which is related to the reductions of Th1 cytokine interferon-γ(IFN-γ) and its transcription factor,T-bet,in spinal cords.Moreover,sinomenine treatment of splenocytes stimulated with anti-CD3 antibody and recombinant rat interleukin 12 reduced the expression of T-bet and IFN-γ in vitro and also reduced the capability of supernatants of splenocyte culture to induce iNOS expression by primary astrocytes.However,sinomenine had no direct inhibitory effect on iNOS produced by astrocytes cultured with IFN-γ and tumor necrosis factor α in vitro.In conclusion,the anti-iNOS effect of sinomenine on EAE is mediated via the suppression of T-bet /IFN-γ pathway. | Bingjie Gu Yanying Zeng Cheng Yin Huijiuan Wang Xiaofan Yang Song Wang Xiaohui Ji | 2012 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,6: | 11 |
| 2 | Geochemical and Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic compositions of volcanic rocks from the Iheya Ridge,the middle Okinawa Trough:implications for petrogenesis and a mantle source显示文摘As an active back-arc basin, the Okinawa Trough is located in the southeastern region of the East China Sea shelf and is strongly influenced by the subduction of the Philippine Sea Plate. Major element, trace element and Sr-NdPb isotopic composition data are presented for volcanic rocks from the Iheya Ridge(IR), the middle Okinawa Trough. The IR rocks record large variations in major elements and range from basalts to rhyolites. Similar trace element distribution characteristics together with small variations in ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr(0.703 862–0.704 884), ^(144)Nd/^(143)Nd(0.512 763–0.512 880) and Pb isotopic ratios, demonstrate that the IR rocks are derived from a similar magma source. The fractional crystallization of olivine, clinopyroxene, plagioclase, and amphibole, as well as accessory minerals, can reasonably explain the compositional variations of these IR rocks. The simulations suggest that approximately 60% and 75% fractionation of an evolved basaltic magma can produce trace element compositions similar to those of the intermediate rocks and acid rocks, respectively. The analysis of their Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic content ratios suggest that the source of the rocks from the IR is close to the depleted mantle(DM) but extends to the enriched mantle(EMII), indicating that the mantle source of these rocks is a mixture between the DM and EMII end members. | 3 | Rayleigh wave phase velocities of South China block and its adjacent areas显示文摘Using records of continuous seismic waveforms from 609 broadband seismic stations in the South China Block and its adjacent areas in 2010–2012, empirical Green's functions of surface waves were obtained from cross-correlation functions of ambient noise data between these stations. High quality phase velocity dispersion curves of Rayleigh waves were obtained using time-frequency analysis. These interstation dispersion curves were then inverted to build Rayleigh wave phase velocity maps at periods of 6–50 s. The results of phase velocity maps indicate that phase velocities at 6–10 s periods are correlated with the geological features in the upper crust. Major basins and small-scale grabens and basins display slow velocity anomalies; while most of the orogenic belts and the fold belts display high velocity anomalies. With the gravity gradient zone along Taihang Mountain to Wuling Mountain as the boundary for the phase velocity maps at period of 20–30 s, the western area mainly displays low velocity anomalies, while the eastern side shows high velocity anomalies. Phase velocities in the eastern South China Block south to the Qinling-Dabie orogenic belt is higher than that in the eastern North China Block to the north, which is possibly due to the differences of tectonic mechanisms between the North China Craton and the South China Block. The phase velocities at periods of40–50 s are possibly related to the lateral variations of the velocity structure in the lower crust and upper mantle: The low-velocity anomalies in the eastern part of the Tibetan Plateau are caused by the thick crust; while the Sichuan Basin and the southern part of the Ordos Basin display distinct high-velocity anomalies, reflecting the stable features of the lithosphere in these blocks. The lateral variation pattern of phase velocities in the southern part of the South China Block is not consistent with the surface trace of the block boundary in the eastern Yunnan Province and its vicinities. The phase velocities in the Sichuan Basin are overall slow at short periods and gradually increase with period from the central part to the edge of the basin, indicating the features of shallower basement in the center and overall stable lithospheric mantle of the basin. The middle and upper crust of the southern Ordos Basin in the North China Block is heterogeneous, while in lower crust and the uppermost mantle the phase velocities mainly exhibit high anomalies. | 4 | Mineral Chemistry Indicates the Petrogenesis of Rhyolite From The Southwestern Okinawa Trough显示文摘To reveal the petrogenesis of rhyolite from the southwestern Okinawa Trough, the mineral chemistry of plagioclase, orthopyroxene, amphibole, quartz and Fe-Ti oxide phenocrysts were analyzed using an electron microprobe, and in suit Sr and Ba contents of plagioclase analysed by LA-ICPMS were chosen for fingerprinting plagioclases of different provenances. Results indicate an overall homogeneous composition for each of the mineral phases except for plagioclase phenocrysts which have a wide range of composition(An=39~88). Plagioclase crystals characterized by An contents of >70 are not in equilibrium with their whole-rock compositions, and coarse-sieved plagioclase phenocryst interiors record high An contents(>70) and Sr/Ba ratios(>7), which are similar to the those of plagioclase crystals in basalt. Therefore, these crystals must have been introduced to the rhyolitic magma from a more mafic source. Equilibrium temperatures estimated using orthopyroxene-liquid, iron–titanium oxide, titanium-in-quartz and amphibole geothermometers show consistent values ranging from 792 to 869℃. The equilibrium pressure calculated using amphibole compositions is close to 121 MPa which corresponds to an approximate depth of 4 km. The fO_2 conditions estimated from Fe-Ti oxides and amphiboles plot slightly above the NNO buffer, which indicates that the rock formed under more oxidized conditions. Our results suggests that petrogenesis of the rhyolite due to basaltic magma ascend with the high An and Sr/Ba plaigoclases from deep magma chamber into the shallow chamber where the fractional crystallization and crustal assimilation happened. | 5 | Geological,physical,and chemical characteristics of seafloor hydrothermal vent fields显示文摘Seafloor hydrothermal vent fields(SHVFs) are located in the mid-ocean ridge(MOR),backarc basin(BAB),island arc and hot-spot environments and hosted mainly by ultramafic,mafic,felsic rocks,and sediments.The hydrothermal vent fluids of SHVFs have low oxygen,abnormal pH and temperature,numerous toxic compounds,and inorganic energy sources,such as sulfuric compounds,methane,and hydrogen.The geological,physical,and chemical characteristics of SHVFs provide important clues to understanding the formation and evolution of seafloor hydrothermal systems,leading to the determination of metal sources and the reconstruction of the physicochemical conditions of metallogenesis.Over the past two decades,we studied the geological settings,volcanic rocks,and hydrothermal products of SHVFs and drawn new conclusions in these areas,including:1) the hydrothermal plumes in the Okinawa Trough are affected by the Kuroshio current;2) S and Pb in the hydrothermal sulfides from MOR are mainly derived from their host igneous rocks;3) Re and Os of vent fluids are more likely to be incorporated into Fe-and Fe-Cu sulfide mineral facies,and Os is enriched under low-temperature(<200℃) hydrothermal conditions in global SHVFs;4) compared with low-temperature hydrothermal sulfides,sulfates,and opal minerals,high-temperature hydrothermal sulfides maintain the helium(He) isotopic composition of the primary vent fluid;5) relatively low temperature(<116℃),oxygenated,and acidic environment conditions are favorable for forming a native sulfur chimney,and a 'glue pudding' growth model can be used to understand the origin of native sulfur balls in the Kueishantao hydrothermal field;and 6) boron isotope from hydrothermal plumes and fluids can be used to describe their diffusive processes.The monitoring and understanding of the physical structure,chemical composition,geological processes,and diverse organism of subseafloor hydrothermal systems will be a future hot spot and frontier of submarine hydrothermal geology. | ZENG Zhigang CHEN Zuxing ZHANG Yuxiang LI Xiaohui | 2020 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,4: | 4 |

| 7 | Glycine functionalized activated carbon derived from navel orange peel for enhancement recovery of Gd(Ⅲ)显示文摘Glycine functionalized activated carbon adsorption material(NOPAC-GLY-X)was successfully prepared by one-step thermal decomposition using agricultural waste navel orange peel as a precursor.Through batch adsorption experiments,it is found that the adsorption performance of Gd(Ⅲ)on activated carbon can be significantly enhanced by glycine modification.The adsorption isotherms of the NOPACs conform to the Langmuir isotherm model,and the maximum adsorption capacity of the activated carbon sample NOPAC-Gly-60 is approximately 48.5 mg/g.The Gd(Ⅲ)adsorption capacity of navel orange peel activated carbon can be doubled after glycine modification,and the adsorption efficiency of gadolinium can reach99%at pH=7.The physicochemical properties of the prepared adsorbents were characterized by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),elemental analysis(EA),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The characterization test shows that the specific surface area of the sample increases from 1121 to 1523 m^(2)/g,and the ratio of(N+O)/C increases from 10.8%to 30.0%by the glycine modification.After five cycles of adsorption-desorption,the adsorption capacity can still be maintained at 88%of the initial capacity.NOPAC-GLY-60 has excellent adsorption selectivity for Gd(Ⅲ).With the obvious advantages of simple synthesis steps and low cost,the activated carbon modification method adopted in this study has great application value in the field of rare earth adsorption and recovery. | Bin Xiao Lijinhong Huang Wanfu Huang Dongmei Zhang Xiangrong Zeng Xiaohui Yao | 2022 | Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,11: | 3 |

| 10 | Anti-hypertensive and endothelia protective effects of Fufang Qima capsule(复方芪麻胶囊) on primary hypertension via adiponectin/adenosine monophosphate activated protein kinase pathway显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the potential mechanism of the vascular remodeling effect and provide additional information about anti-hypertension activity of Fufang Qima capsule(复方芪麻胶囊,QM).METHODS:Spontaneous hypertensive rats(SHRs)were used to study the underlying mechanism of the anti-hypertension activity of QM.In this study,SHRs were randomly divided into 5 groups:model group,Telmisartan group(7.2 mg/kg,p.o.),and three QM groups(0.9298,1.8596,and 3.7192 g/kg,p.o.).Wistar Kyoto rats(WKY)were used as normal control group.Blood pressure(BP),aorta,perivascular adipose tissue(PVAT)histology were investigated to evaluate the effect of QM.Nitric oxide(NO)and endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS)phosphorylation were measured.Adiponectin(APN)secretion,as well as APN signal pathway proteins including APN,adiponectin receptors(R1 and R2)and adenosine 5’-monophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK)were all analyzed.RESULTS:QM significantly reduced BP and ameliorated the vascular pathological change,i.e.intima media thicken and collagen fiber hyperplasia.Meanwhile,QM increased concentration of NO and the phosphorylation of eNOS in the aorta.The anti-hypertensive and endothelia-protective effect of QM could be attributed to activating APN/AMPK pathway by up-regulating the expression of APN in PVAT and APN Receptor 2,AMPKαand phosphorylated AMPKαin the aorta.CONCLUSION:The QM alleviation effect mechanism for primary hypertension was via modulating the APN/AMPK signal pathway. | ZHAO Zhiyue SHI Zhenyu ZHANG Zhenzhen LI Yinghong ZENG Xiaohui CHEN Yuxing YAO Nan ZHOU Min SU Hui WANG Qinghai JIN LiLi | 2021 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,6: | 2 |
| 11 | Rock borehole shear tests in dam foundation of Xiangjiaba hydropower station显示文摘Xiangjiaba hydropower station is one of the cascade power stations on the Jinsha River, China. Due to the complicated geological conditions of its dam foundation, evaluating the rock mass quality and determining the mechanical parameters of rock masses are very important issues. To address these issues, several groups of rock borehole shear tests (RBSTs) were conducted on the black mudstone in the dam foundation of Xiangjiaba hydropower station in the second construction phase. Forty three groups of shear strengths of black mudstone samples were obtained from RBSTs, and the shear strength parameters (c and f ) were calculated using the least squares method. In addition, the limitations and merits of RBST employed in the Xiangjiaba hydropower station were discussed. Test results indicate that the shear strength parameters obtained from RBST have a good correlation with the results from sound wave test in borehole. | 14 | A Liquid Metal Reaction System for Advanced Material Manufacturing显示文摘CONSPECTUS:Liquid metal exhibits the unique advantages of both the liquid and metal,including excellent deformability,high thermal conductivity,and electrical conductivity.The exploration of liquid metal is a new opportunity and revolution for the application of metal materials,including the flexible devices,catalysis,microfluidic,and drug delivery.In addition to the above applications,the characteristics of excellent inclusive ability with the majority of the elements and abundant vacancies in the bulk make it a new type of reaction medium different from traditional aqueous and organic solutions,exhibiting great potential in the precise construction of materials.To date,the research of using liquid metal as a reaction system to synthesize materials is still in its infancy.When acting as a reaction system,the vacancies inside and the smooth layering surfaces without grain boundaries allow liquid metals to encapsulate heterogeneous atoms,confine the precursors in atomically thick layers and realize the self-limiting growth of 2D material.Besides,the good rheological property makes it possible to construct 2D arrays on its surface.Except for the properties mentioned above,as a kind of metal,its excellent electrical conductivity and ductility provide a new idea for the preparation of composite materials in the energy field.Indeed,liquid metals provide attractive prospects in manufacturing advanced materials including 2D materials and functional composite materials.Thus,this Account aims to focus on the controllable fabrication of 2D materials and functional composite materials by liquid metals.Based on the characteristics of the surface layering and solidification and of excellent fluidity,the self-limited growth and ordered arrangement of 2D materials on liquid metal surfaces can be achieved,which enriches the material structures and leads to new properties.By constructing an in situ synthesis and observation system,the growth and assembly behavior of 2D materials on the liquid metal can be observed directly.Combining the electrical property,deformability,ductility,and high inclusive ability with other materials,the liquid metal reaction system can also realize the preparation of new functional composite materials toward various applications,such as the energy field.Except for the 2D materials and functional composite materials mentioned here,liquid metals also provide more possibilities for fabricating other promising materials,like wafer-scale semiconductors,magic-angle graphene,flexible functional materials,biomedical materials,and so on.The research concerning the manufacturing of advanced materials on liquid metals is still in its infancy.We believe that the development of related technologies offering in-depth investigation and theoretical understanding on liquid metals will lay a solid foundation for the basic research and practical application of more advanced materials. | Mengqi Zeng Linyang Li Xiaohui Zhu Lei Fu | 2021 | Accounts of Materials Research2021,2,8: | 1 |

Each cylinder can oscillate independently in any rigid oscillation mode with a prescribed amplitude, including translational and rotational modes such as surge, sway, heave, pitch, roll, and their combinations. Based on the eigenfunction expansion and Graf's addition theorem for Bessel functions, we developed an analytical method that includes the effects of evanescent modes in order to analyze such arrays of cylinders. To investigate the effects of several influential factors on convergence,our objective is to dramatically reduce the number of tests required and determine the influencing relationships between truncation number and convergence behavior for different factor combinations.
