1A Brief Review on the Mechanisms of miRNA Regulation显示文摘MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of short,endogenously-initiated non-coding RNAs that post-transcriptionally control gene expression via either translational repression or mRNA degradation.It is becoming evident that miRNAs are playing significant roles in regulatory mechanisms operating in various organisms,including developmental timing and host-pathogen interactions as well as cell differentiation,proliferation,apoptosis and tumorigenesis.Likewise,as a regulatory element,miRNA itself is coordinatively modulated by multifarious effectors when carrying out basic functions,such as SNP,miRNA editing,methylation and circadian clock.This mini-review summarized the current understanding of interactions between miRNAs and their targets,including recent advancements in deciphering the regulatory mechanisms that control the biogenesis and functionality of miRNAs in various cellular processes.Yimei Cai Xiaomin Yu Songnian Hu Jun Yu 2009Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2009,7,4:55
2Surface current field and seasonal variability in the Kuroshio and adjacent regions derived from satellite-tracked drifter data显示文摘The multiyear averaged surface current field and seasonal variability in the Kuroshio and adjacent regions are studied.The data used are trajectories and(1/4)° latitude by(1/4)° longitude mean currents derived from 323 Argos drifters deployed by Chinese institutions and world ocean circulation experiment from 1979 to 2003.The results show that the Kuroshio surface path adapts well to the western boundary topography and exhibits six great turnings.The branching occurs frequently near anticyclonic turnings rather than near cyclonic ones.In the Luzon Strait,the surface water intrusion into the South China Sea occurs only in fall and winter.The Kuroshio surface path east of Taiwan,China appears nearly as straight lines in summer,fall,and winter,when anticyclonic eddies coexist on its right side;while the path may cyclonically turning in spring when no eddy exists.The Kuroshio intrusion northeast of Taiwan often occurs in fall and winter,but not in summer.The running direction,width and velocity of the middle segment of the Kuroshio surface currents in the East China Sea vary seasonally.The northward intrusion of the Kuroshio surface water southwest of Kyushu occurs in spring and fall,but not in summer.The northmost position of the Kuroshio surface path southwest of Kyushu occurs in fall,but never goes beyond 31°N.The northward surface current east of the Ryukyu Islands exists only along Okinawa-Amami Islands from spring to fall.In particular,it appears as an arm of an anticyclonic eddy in fall.HU Xiaomin XIONG Xuejun QIAO Fangli GUO Binghuo LIN Xiaopei 2008Acta Oceanologica Sinica2008,27,3:23
3Characteristics of rare-earth elements (REE),strontium and neodymium isotopes in hydrothermal fluorites from the Bailashui tin deposit in the Furong ore field,southern Hunan Province,China显示文摘In this paper the authors present the REE concentrations and Sr and Nd isotopic compositions of fluorites from the Bailashui tin deposit of the Furong ore field,southern Hunan Province. The results showed that the total amount of REE in fluorites is usually low,ranging from 0.705 to 8.785 μg/g with the chondrite-normalized REE dis-tribution patterns similar to those of the Qitianling granites in the study area,characterized by LREE-enrichment patterns with pronounced negative Eu anomalies. The fluorites vary in Sr isotopic composition within the range of 0.7083-0.7091,the values are lower than those of the granites and higher than those of the host carbonate rocks in this area. The εNd(t) values of fluorites vary between -9.4 and +10.3,revealing that both the crust-and mantle-source materials were involved in the ore-forming hydrothermal fluids. Combined with previous studies on this ore deposit,the Bailashui tin deposit is temporally and spatially closely related with granitic magmatism in this area. The hydro-thermal fluorites are the product of fluid/rock interactions between granitic magmatic hydrothermal fluid and marine carbonate rocks. The REE and F in the ore-forming fluid were derived from the granites,whereas Sr in the ore-forming fluid came mainly from the granitic magmatic hydrothermal fluid and marine carbonate rocks,although variations in Sr isotopic composition cannot be explained by a simple mixture of these two end-members. 5Risk factors and long-term health consequences of macrosomia:a prospective study in Jiangsu Province,China显示文摘We sought to determine risk factors associated with fetal macrosomia and to explore the long-term consequence of infant macrosomia at the age of 7 years.A prospective population based cohort study was designed to examine the associations between maternal and perinatal characteristics and the risk of macrosomia.A nested case-control study was conducted to explore the long-term health consequence of infant macrosomia.The mean maternal age of the macrosomia group was 24.74±3.32 years,which is slightly older than that in the control group(24.35±3.14 years,P = 0.000).The mean maternal body mass index(BMI) at early pregnancy was 22.75±2.81 kg/m 2,which was also higher than that in the control group(21.76±2.59 kg/m 2,P = 0.000).About 64.6% of macrosomic neonates were males,compared with 51.0% in the control group(P = 0.000).Compared with women with normal weight(BMI:18.5-23.9 kg/m 2),women who were overweight(BMI:24-27.9 kg/m 2) or obese(BMI ≥ 28 kg/m 2),respectively,had a 1.69-fold(P = 0.000) and a 1.49-fold(P = 0.000) increased risks of having a neonate with macrosomia,while light weight(BMI<18.5 kg/m 2) women had an approximately 50% reduction of the risk.Furthermore,macrosomia infant had a 1.52-fold and 1.50-fold risk,respectively,of developing overweight or obesity at the age of 7 years(P = 0.001 and P = 0.000).Older maternal age,higher maternal BMI at early pregnancy and male gender were independent risk factors of macrosomia.Macrosomic infant was associated with an increased predisposition to develop overweight or obesity at the beginning of their childhood.Shouyong Gu Xiaofei An Liang Fang Xiaomin Zhang Chunyan Zhang Jingling Wang Qilan Liu Yanfang Zhang Yongyue Wei Zhibin Hu Feng Chen Hongbing Shen 2012The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,4:14
6Thermal expansion of kyanite at ambient pressure:An X-ray powder diffraction study up to 1000℃显示文摘The thermal expansion coefficients of kyanite at ambient pressure have been investigated by an X-ray powder diffraction technique with temperatures up to 1000℃.No phase transition was observed in the experimental temperature range.Data for the unit-cell parameters and temperatures were fitted empirically resulting in the following thermal expansion coefficients:α_a = 5.8(3)×10^(-5).α_b = 5.8 (1)×10^(-5),α_c = 5.2(1)×10^(-5),andα_V = 7.4(1)×10^(-3)℃^(-1),in good agreement with a recent neutron powder diffraction study.On the other hand,the variation of the unit-cell anglesα,βand y of kyanite with increase in temperature is very complicated,and the agreement among all studies is poor.The thermal expansion data at ambient pressure reported here and the compression data at ambient temperature from the literature suggest that,for the kyanite lattice,the most and least thermally expandable directions correspond to the most and least compressible directions,respectively.Xi Liu Qiang He Hejing Wang Michael E. 7Major advances in studies of the physical geography and living environment of China during the past 70 years and future prospects显示文摘The natural environment provides material essentials for human survival and development. The characteristics,processes, regional differentiation and forcing mechanisms of the elements of the natural environment(e.g. geomorphology,climate, hydrology, soil, etc.) are the main objects of research in physical geography. China has a complex natural environment and huge regional differentiation and therefore it provides outstanding reserach opportunities in physical geography. This review summarizes the most important developments and the main contributions of research in the physical geography and human living environment in China during the past 70 years. The major topics addressed are the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the evolution of its cryosphere, the development of fluvial systems, the acidification of the vast arid region of the Asian interior, variations in the monsoon and westerly climate systems on multiple timescales, the development of lakes and wetlands, the watershed system model, soil erosion, past human-environment interactions, biogeography, and physical geographic zonality. After briefly introducing international research developments, we review the history of research in physical geography in China, focusing on the major achievements and major academic debates, and finally we summarize the status of current research and the future prospects. 8Channel Modeling and Performance Analysis for UAV Relay Systems显示文摘In this paper, a multi-hop relay channel model based on unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) is established by taking into account of the propagation loss, shadowing, and multi-path fading. Based on the proposed channel model, the cascaded propagation loss of relay link and the cascaded probability density function(PDF) of channel fading are derived. Moreover, the theoretical performance of the UAV-based relay system, i.e., the outage probability, bit error rate(BER), and channel capacity, is also analysed and derived. 9Transcriptome profiling of the developing postnatal mouse testis using next-generation sequencing显示文摘Mammalian testis development is a complex and highly sophisticated process. To study the dynamic change of normal testis development at the transcriptional level, we investigated mouse testes at three postnatal ages: 6 days postnatal, 4 weeks old, and 10 weeks old, representing infant (PN1), juvenile (PN2), and adult (PN3) stages, respectively. Using ultra high-throughput RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) technology, we obtained 211 million reads with a length of 35 bp. We identified 18837 genes that were expressed in mouse testes, and found that genes expressed at the highest level were involved in spermatogenesis. The gene expression pattern in PN1 was distinct from that in PN2 and PN3, which indicates that spermatogenesis has commenced in PN2. We analyzed a large number of genes related to spermatogenesis and somatic development of the testis, which play important roles at different developmental stages. We also found that the MAPK, Hedgehog, and Wnt signaling pathways were significantly involved at different developmental stages. These findings further our understanding of the molecular mechanisms that regulate testis development. 10Progress in research of submesoscale processes in the South China Sea显示文摘This paper overviews research progress in observation, theoretical analysis and numerical modeling of submesoscale dynamic processes in the South China Sea(SCS) particularly during recent five years. The submesoscale processes are defined according to both spatial and dynamic scales, and divided into four subcategories as submesoscale waves, submesoscale vortexes, submesoscale shelf processes, and submesoscale turbulence. The major new findings are as follows.(1) Systematic mooring observations provide new insights into the solitary waves(ISWs) and the typhoon-forced near-inertial waves(NIWs), of which a new type of ISWs with period of 23 h was observed in the northern SCS(NSCS), and the influences of background vorticity, summer monsoon onset, and deep meridional overturning circulation on the NIWs, as well as nonlinear wave-wave interaction between the NIWs and internal tides, are better understood. On the other hand, satellite altimeter sea surface height data are used to reveal the internal tide radiation patterns and provide solid evidence for that the ISWs in the northeastern SCS originate from the Luzon Strait.(2) Submesoscale offshore jets and associated vortex trains off the Vietnam coast in the western boundary of the SCS were observed from satellite chlorophyll concentration images. Spiral trains with the horizontal scale of 15–30 km and the spacing of 50–80 km were identified.(3) 3-D vertical circulation in the upwelling region east of Hainan Island was theoretically analyzed. The results show that distribution patterns of all the dynamic terms are featured by wave-like structures with horizontal wavelength scale of 20–40 km.(4) Numerical models have been used for the research of submesoscale turbulence. 11Comparison of the short-term and long-term outcomes of laparoscopic hysterectomies and of abdominal hysterectomies: a case study of 4,895 patients in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China显示文摘Background: To evaluate the short-term and long-term outcomes after laparoscopic hysterectomy(LH) compared with abdominal hysterectomy(AH) in case of benign gynecological disease. Methods: A multi-center cohort retrospective comparative study of population among 4,895 hysterectomies(3,539 LH vs.1,356 AH) between 2007 and 2013 was involved. Operative time(OT), estimated blood loss(EBL), intra-operative and post-operative complications, passing flatus; days with indwelling catheter, questionnaires covering pelvic floor functions and sexual functions were assessed.Results: The EBL(174.1±157.4 vs. 263.1±183.2 cc, LH and AH groups, respectively), passing flatus(38.7±14.1 vs. 48.1±13.2 hours), days with indwelling catheter(1.5±0.6 vs. 2.2±0.8 days), use of analgesics(6.5% vs. 73.1%), intra-operative complication rate(2.4% vs. 4.1%), post-operative complication rate(2.3% vs. 5.7%), post-operative constipation(12.1% vs. 24.6%), mild and serious stress urinary incontinence(SUI) post-operative(P<0.001; P=0.014), and proportion of Female Sexual Functioning Index(FSFI) total score <26.55 post-operative(P<0.001) of the LH group were significantly less than those of AH group. There wereno significant differences in OT(106.5±34.5 vs. 106.2±40.3 min) between the two groups.Conclusions: LH is a safe and efficient operation for improving patients' long-term quality of life(Qo L), and LH is a cost-effectiveness procedure for treating benign gynecological disease. 12Mechanism and kinetics study on the ozonolysis reaction of 2,3,7,8-TCDD in the atmosphere显示文摘The ozonolysis of 2,3,7,8-tetra-chlorodibenzo-p-dioxin(2,3,7,8-TCDD) is an efcient degradation way in the atmosphere. The ozonolysis process and possible reactions path of Criegee Intermediates with NO and H2 O are introduced in detail at the method of MPWB1K/6-31+G(d,p)//MPWB1K/6-311+G(3df,2p) level. In ozonolysis, H2O is an important source of OH radical formation and initiated the subsequent degradation reaction. The Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel-Marcus(RRKM) theory was applied to calculate rate constants with the temperature ranging from 200 to 600 K. The rate constant of reaction between 2,3,7,8-TCDD and O3 is 4.80 × 10 20cm3/(mole·sec) at 298 K and 760 Torr. 13Spatial and temporal variability of heat content above the thermocline in the tropical Pacific Ocean显示文摘Heat content of the upper layer above the 20℃ isotherm in the tropical Pacific Ocean is estimated by using the sea temperature data set with a resolution 2°latitude × 5°longitude (1980~1993) for the water depths (every 10 m) from 0 m to 400 m, and its temporal and spatial variabilities are analyzed. ( 1 ) The temporal variability indicates that the total heat in the upper layer of the equatorial Pacific Ocean is characterized by the interannual variability. The time series of the equatorial heat anomaly 5 months lead that of the El Nino index at the best positive lag correlation between the two, and the former 13 months lag behind the latter at their best negative lag correlation. Therefore the equatorial heat content can be used as a better predictor than the El Nino index for a warm or cold event. In addition, it is also found that less heat anomaly in the equator corresponds to the stronger warm events in the period (1980~1993) and much more heat was accumulated in the 4 years including 1992/1993 ENSO (1989~1993) than the 4 years including 1982/1983 ENSO (1980~1983); (2) The spatial variability indicates that the area with the highest lag correlation among the grids moves in an anti-clockwise circle in the northern tropical Pacific Ocean within 4 years period and in a clockwise circle in the southern tropical Pacific Ocean. 14Expression and regulation of orphan receptor TR2 mRNA in germ cells of cryptorchid testis in rat and rhesus monkey显示文摘Expression and cellular localization of orphan receptor TR2 mRNA in relation to germ cell apoptosis in cryptorchid testes of rat and rhesus monkey have been studied by using in situ hybridization and in situ 3’-end labeling of DNA fragments (T躈EL). The results show that: (i) TR2 mRNA is specifically expressed in the germ cells, mainly in the spermatocytes, round and elongated spermatids. The expression level of TR2 mRNA varies with the seminiferous cycle. (ii) in the rat cryptorchid testes on days 3 and 5 after the surgery, the germ cells began to undergo apoptosis with no evident decrease in TR2 mRNA level. On day 7.5, however, most germ cells underwent apoptosis, while the expression level of TR2 mRNA declined markedly, and TR2 mRNA was rarely expressed on day 10 thereafter. (iii) On days 15 and 20 of the cryptorchid testes of rhesus monkey, TR2 mRNA was only expressed in a few of primary spermatocytes and the mRNA was almost undetectable on days 30, 45, 60. 15Meteorological applications of precipitable water vapor measurements retrieved by the national GNSS network of China显示文摘In this study, the Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS) network of China is discussed,which can be used to monitor atmospheric precipitable water vapor(PWV). By the end of2013, the network had 952 GNSS sites, including 260 belonging to the Crustal Movement Observation Network of China(CMONOC) and 692 belonging to the China Meteorological Administration GNSS network(CMAGN). Additionally, GNSS observation collecting and data processing procedures are presented and PWV data quality control methods are investigated. PWV levels as determined by GNSS and radiosonde are compared. The results show that GNSS estimates are generally in good agreement with measurements of radiosondes and water vapor radiometers(WVR). 17Deep learning classification of coastal wetland hyperspectral image combined spectra and texture features: A case study of Huanghe(Yellow) River Estuary wetland显示文摘This paper develops a deep learning classification method with fully-connected 8-layers characteristics to classification of coastal wetland based on CHRIS hyperspectral image. The method combined spectral feature and multi-spatial texture feature information has been applied in the Huanghe(Yellow) River Estuary coastal wetland.The results show that:(1) Based on testing samples, the DCNN model combined spectral feature and texture feature after K-L transformation appear high classification accuracy, which is up to 99%.(2) The accuracy by using spectral feature with all the texture feature is lower than that using spectral only and combing spectral and texture feature after K-L transformation. The DCNN classification accuracy using spectral feature and texture feature after K-L transformation was up to 99.38%, and the outperformed that of all the texture feature by 4.15%.(3) The classification accuracy of the DCNN method achieves better performance than other methods based on the whole validation image, with an overall accuracy of 84.64% and the Kappa coefficient of 0.80.(4) The developed DCNN model classification algorithm ensured the accuracy of all types is more balanced, and it also greatly improved the accuracy of tidal flat and farmland, while kept the classification accuracy of main types almost invariant compared to the shallow algorithms. The classification accuracy of tidal flat and farmland is up to 79.26% and 56.72%respectively based on the DCNN model. 18Water, heat fluxes and water use efficiency measurement and modeling above a farmland in the North China Plain显示文摘Net radiation (Rn), water vapor flux (LE), sensible heat flux (Hs) and soil heat flux (G)were measured above a summer maize field with the eddy-covariance technique, simulation and analysis of water, heat fluxes and crop water use efficiency were made with the RZ-SHAW model at the same time in this study. The results revealed significant diurnal and seasonal variability of water vapor flux for summer maize. Most part of Rn was consumed by the evapotranspiration of the summer maize. The proportion of water vapor flux to net radiation ((LE/Rn) increased with the crop development and peaked around milk-filling stage with a value of 60%, a slightly lower than that obtained by the RZ-SHAW model. Daily evapotranspiration estimated by the model agreed with the results measured with the eddy-covariance technique, indices of agreement (IA) for hourly water vapor fluxes simulated and measured were above 0.75, root mean square errors (RMSE) were no more than 1.0. Diurnal patterns of Hs showed the shape of inverted 'U' shifted to the forenoon with a maximum value around 11:30 (Beijing time), while LE exhibited an inverted 'V' with a maximum value at around 13:00, about an hour later than Hs. Diurnal change of CO2showed an asymmetrical 'V' curve and its maximal rates occurred at about 11:30. Variations of water use efficiency during the phonological stages of the summer maize showed a rapid increase with the photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD) after sunrise, a state of equilibrium around 10:00 followed a decrease. 19On generation source sites of internal waves in the Luzon Strait显示文摘This effort aims to determine the generation source sites in the Luzon Strait for energetic,long-crest,transbasin internal waves(IW)observed in the northern South China Sea(NSCS).The roles of islands distributed on eastern side of the strait,Kuroshio,submarine ridges,shoaling thermocline,and strait configuration played in the IW generation are examined using the cruise data analysis,satellite data interpretation,and dynamical analysis.The islands and channels on eastern side of the strait are excluded from a list of possible IW source sites owing to their unmatched horizontal dimensions to the scale of IW crest line length,and the relative low Reynolds number.The Kuroshio has a potential to be a radiator for the long-crest IW disturbances,meanwhile,the Kuroshio west(east)wing absorbs the eastward(westward)propagating IW disturbance.Namely,the Kuroshio blockades the outside west-east propagating IW disturbances.The 3-D configuration of the Luzon Strait is characterized by a sudden,more than one order widening of the cross-section areas at the outlets on both sides,providing a favorable condition for IW type initial disturbance formation.In the Luzon Strait,the thermocline is featured by a westward shoaling all the year around,providing the dynamical conditions for the amplitude growth(declination)to the westward(eastward)propagating IW type disturbance.Thus,the west slope of western submarine ridge at the western outlet of the Luzon Strait is a high possibility source sites for energetic,long-crest,transbasin IWs in the NSCS.The interpretation results of satellite SAR images during a 13 a period from 1995 to 2007 provide the convincing evidence for the conclusions.ZHENG Quanan SONG Y Tony LIN Hui HU Xiaomin MENG Junmin WANG Dan 2008Acta Oceanologica Sinica2008,27,3:5
20Sedimentary Conditions of Evaporites in the Late Jurassic Xiali Formation,Qiangtang Basin:Evidence from Geochemistry Records显示文摘The Qiangtang Basin(QB), located in the central Tibetan Plateau, is a Jurassic marine basin and one of the most important prospective salt resource belts in China. In recent decades, many outcrops of gypsiferous bed have been found in the Jurassic marine strata in the basin. Salt springs with abnormally high sodium(Na^+) contents had been identified in the Late Jurassic Xiali Formation(Fm.) in the basin in the last years. However, to date, no potash or halite deposits have been identified in the QB. Gypsum outcrops and salt springs are very important signs in the investigation of halite and potash deposits. Therefore, the Xiali Fm. is a potentially valuable layer to evaluate for the possible presence of halite and potash deposits in the basin. However, few studies have explored the formation conditions of evaporites in the unit. Here, we present detailed geochemical records from the Yanshiping section related to the study of the formation conditions of evaporites in the Xiali Fm. of the QB. Climate proxies based on the obviously increased anion concentrations of SO_4(2-) and Cl^- and the significant correlation coefficients of Ca2+-SO42-(R = 0.985) and Na^+-Cl^-(R = 0.8974) reveal that the upper member of the Xiali Fm.(the upper Xiali Fm.) formed under an arid climate and evolved into the sulfate phase or early chloride phase. Provenance proxies based on the obviously increased K^+ and Na^+ ion concentrations and the significant correlation coefficient of Na^+-Cl^-(R = 0.8974) suggest that the upper Xiali Fm. featured optimal provenance conditions for the possible formation of halite deposits. The regression and the semi-closed tidal flat environment in the upper Xiali Fm. were favorable for the formation of potash and halite deposits. The low Mg^(2+) /Ca^(2+) values(mean value = 1.82) and significant Na^+-Cl^- correlation coefficient(R = 0.8974) also suggest that the upper Xiali Fm. is the layer most likely to contain potential halite deposits. In addition, the macroscopic correlations of tectonism, provenance, paleoclimate, saliferous strata and sedimentary environment between the QB and the adjoining Amu Darya Basin in Central Asia reveal that the two basins shared similar geologic settings that were favorable for the formation of evaporites during the Late Jurassic.
