| 2 | Synergistic effects of elevated homocysteine level and abnormal blood lipids on the onset of stroke显示文摘Hyperhomocysteinemia and abnormal blood lipids are independent risk factors for stroke.However,whether both factors exert a synergistic effect in the onset of stroke remains unclear.The present study is a retrospective analysis of 2 089 cases of stroke and 2 089 control cases of simple intervertebral disk protrusion using a paired multivariate logistic regression method.Adjusting for known confounding variables including the patients’age,gender,smoking status,alcohol consumption status,patient and family medical history,and clinical biochemical indices,elevated homocysteine level was related to the onset of stroke.Patients with elevated homocysteine levels and abnormal blood lipids showed a 40.9%increase in the risk for stroke compared to patients with normal homocysteine levels and blood lipids(odds ratio 1.409;95%confidence interval1.127–1.761).These results indicate that elevated homocysteine and abnormal blood lipids exert synergistic effects in the onset of stroke.Patients with elevated homocysteine levels and abnormal blood lipids are predisposed to stroke. | Lu Hao Liming Chen Xiaoyong Sai Zhefeng Liu Guang Yang Rongzeng Yan Lili Wang Caiyun Fu Xuan Xu Zhenzhen Cheng Qiang Wu Shuzhang Li | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,31: | 9 |
| 3 | Chemical formation and source apportionment of PM_(2.5) at an urban site at the southern foot of the Taihang mountains显示文摘The region along the Taihang Mountains in the North China Plain(NCP) is characterized by serious fine particle pollution. To clarify the formation mechanism and controlling factors, an observational study was conducted to investigate the physical and chemical properties of the fine particulate matter in Jiaozuo city, China. Mass concentrations of the water-soluble ions(WSIs) in PM_(2.5) and gaseous pollutant precursors were measured on an hourly basis from December 1, 2017, to February 27, 2018. The positive matrix factorization(PMF) method and the FLEXible PARTicle(FLEXPART) model were employed to identify the sources of PM_(2.5). The results showed that the average mass concentration of PM_(2.5) was 111 μg/m^(3) during the observation period. Among the major WSIs, sulfate, nitrate, and ammonium(SNA) constituted 62% of the total PM_(2.5) mass, and NO_(3)^(-) ranked the highest with an average contribution of 24.6%. NH_(4)^(+) was abundant in most cases in Jiaozuo. According to chemical balance analysis, SO_(2)-4, NO_(3)^(-), and Cl^(-) might be present in the form of(NH_4)_(2)SO_4, NH_4NO_3, NH_4Cl, and KCl. The liquid-phase oxidation of SO_(2) and NO_(2) was severe during the haze period. The relative humidity and pH were the key factors influencing SO_(4)^(2-) formation. We found that NO_(3)^(-) mainly stemmed from homogeneous gas-phase reactions in the daytime and originated from the hydrolysis of N_(2)O_5 in the nighttime, which was inconsistent with previous studies. | 10 | Comprehensive Humoral and Cellular Immune Responses to SARS-CoV-2 Variants in Diverse Chinese Population显示文摘The SARS-CoV-2 variants have been emerging and have made great challenges to current vaccine and pandemic control strategies.It is urgent to understand the current immune status of various Chinese populations given that the preexisting immunity has been established by national vaccination or ex posure to past variants.Using sera from 85 individuals(including 21 convalescents of natural infection,15 cases which suffered a breakthrough infection after being fully vaccinated,and 49 healthy vaccinees),we showed signifcantly enhanced neutralizing activities against SRAS-CoV-2 variants in convalescent sera,especially those who had been fully vaccinated.The neut ralizing antibodies against Omicron were detectable in 75%of convalescents and 4.9%of healthy vaccinees(p=0.006),with a GMT of 289.5,180.9-463.3,and 42.6,31.3-59,respetively.However,the neutralizing activities were weaker in young convalescents(aged<18y),with a detectable rate of 50%and a GMT of 46.4 against Omicron.We also examined and found no pan.sarbecovirus neutralizing activities in vaccinated SARS-CoV-I survivors.A booster dose could further increase the breadth and magnitude of neutralization against WT and variants of concern(VOCs)to different degrees.In addition,we showed that COVID-19-inactivated vaccines can elicit Omicron-specific T-cell responses.The positive rates of ELISpot reactions were 26.7%(4/15)and 43.8%(7/16)in the full vaccination group and the booster vaccination group,respectively,although without statistically significant difference.The neutralizing antibody titers declined while T-cell responses remain consistent over 6 months.These findings will inform the optimization of public health vaccination and intervention strategies to protect diverse populations against SARS-CoV-2 variants.Advances.Breakthrough infection significantly boosted neutralizing activities against SARS-CoV-2 variants a compared to booster immunization with inaclivated vaccine.Vaccine-induced vir us-specific T-cell immunity,on the other hand,may compensate for the shortall.Furthermore,the public health system should target the most vulnerable group due to a poorer protective serological response in both infected and vaccinated adolescents. | Jiwei Li Jing Wu Qiuyue Long Yan'an Wu Xiaoyi Hu Yukun He Mingzheng Jiang Jia Li Lili Zhao Shuoqi Yang Xiaoyong Chen Minghui Wang Jianshi Zheng Fangfang Wu Ruiliang Wu Lihong Ren Liang Bu Houzhao Wang Ke Li Lijuan Fu Guojun Zhang Yali Zheng Zhancheng Gao | 2022 | Research2022,,2: | 1 |

| 15 | Refractory black carbon aerosols in rainwater in the summer of 2019 in Beijing:Mass concentration,size distribution and wet scavenging ratio显示文摘Black carbon(BC)aerosols in the atmosphere play a significant role in climate systems due to their strong ability to absorb solar radiation.The lifetime of BC depends on atmospheric transport,aging and consequently on wet scavenging processes(in-cloud and below-cloud scavenging).In this study,sequential rainwater samples in eight rainfall events collected in 2 mm interval were measured by a tandem system including a single particle soot photometer(SP2)and a nebulizer.The results showed that the volume-weighted average(VWA)mass concentrations of refractory black carbon(rBC)in each rainfall event varied,ranging from 10.8 to 78.9μg/L.The highest rBC concentrations in the rainwater samples typically occurred in the first fraction from individual rainfall events.The geometric mean median mass-equivalent diameter(MMD)decreased under precipitation,indicating that rBC with larger sizes was relatively aged and preferentially removed by wet scavenging.A positive correlation(R2=0.73)between the VWA mass concentrations of rBC in rainwater and that in ambient air suggested the important contribution of scavenging process.Additionally,the contributions of in-cloud and below-cloud scavenging were distinguished and accounted for 74%and 26%to wet scavenging,respectively.The scavenging ratio of rBC particles was estimated to be 0.06 on average.This study provides helpful information for better understanding the mechanism of rBC wet scavenging and reducing the uncertainty of numerical simulations of the climate effects of rBC. | Shandong Lei Baozhu Ge Hang Liu Jiannong Quan Danhui Xu Yuting Zhang Weijie Yao Lu Lei Yu Tian Qi Liao Xiaoyong Liu Jie Li Jinyuan Xin Yele Sun Pingqing Fu Junji Cao Zifa Wang Xiaole Pan | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,10: | 0 |
