| 1 | Rice CYP703A3, a cytochrome P450 hydroxylase, is essential for development of anther cuticle and pollen exine显示文摘Anther cuticle and pollen exine act as protective envelopes for the male gametophyte or pollen grain, but the mechanism underlying the synthesis of these lipidic polymers remains unclear. Previously, a tapetum‐expressed CYP703A3, a putative cytochrome P450 fatty acid hydroxylase, was shown to be essential for male fertility in rice(Oryza sativa L.). However,the biochemical and biological roles of CYP703A3 has not been characterized. Here, we observed that cyp703a3‐2 caused by one base insertion in CYP703A3 displays defective pollen exine and anther epicuticular layer, which differs from Arabidopsis cyp703a2 in which only defective pollen exine occurs. Consistently, chemical composition assay showed that levels of cutin monomers and wax components were dramatically reduced in cyp703a3‐2 anthers. Unlike the wide range of substrates of Arabidopsis CYP703A2, CYP703A3 functions as an in‐chain hydroxylase only for a specific substrate, lauric acid, preferably generating 7‐hydroxylated lauric acid. Moreover, chromatin immunoprecipitation and expression analyses revealed that the expression of CYP703A3 is directly regulated by Tapetum Degeneration Retardation, a known regulator of tapetum PCD and pollen exine formation. | 4 | Fast Remote-Sensing Image Registration Using Priori Information and Robust Feature Extraction显示文摘In this paper, we propose a fast registration scheme for remote-sensing images for use as a fundamental technique in large-scale online remote-sensing data processing tasks. First, we introduce priori-information images,and use machine learning techniques to identify robust remote-sensing image features from state-of-the-art ScaleInvariant Feature Transform(SIFT) features. Next, we apply a hierarchical coarse-to-fine feature matching and image registration scheme on the basis of additional priori information, including a robust feature location map and platform imaging parameters. | 7 | Lipofuscin-and Melanin-related Fundus Autofluorescence in Patients with Submacular Idiopathic Choroidal Neovascularization显示文摘Purpose:.To compare melanin-related near-infrared fundus autofluorescence (NIA; excitation 787 nm, emission> 800 nm) with lipofuscin-related fundus autofluorescence (FAF; excitation 488 nm, emission > 500 nm) in patients with idiopathic choroidal neovascularization (ICNV). Methods: FAF, NIA, fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) and indocyanine green angiography.(ICGA).were obtained using a confocal scanning laser Ophthalmoscope HRA2 (Heidelberg Retina Angiograph 2).in 18 eyes of 18 patients with ICNV. Results:.Eighteen eyes had classic CNV, and autofluorescence imaging showed hypoautofluorescence at the site of CNV..A well-defined hyperautofluorescent ring was detected surrounding the CNV in all 18 eyes with NIA imaging. In our sample,.the FAF patterns around the CNV were classified as normal (n=1,.5.56%), well-defined hyperautofluorescent ring (n=7,.38.89%), or ill-defined hyperautofluorescent ring (n=10, 55.56%). Conclusion:.The patterns of FAF and NIA indicated different involvement of lipofuscin and melanin in the pathophysiological process of ICNV. | 8 | k-NN Based Bypass Entropy and Mutual Information Estimation for Incremental Remote-Sensing Image Compressibility Evaluation显示文摘Incremental image compression techniques using priori information are of significance to deal with the explosively increasing remote-sensing image data. However, the potential benefi ts of priori information are still to be evaluated quantitatively for effi cient compression scheme designing. In this paper, we present a k-nearest neighbor(k-NN) based bypass image entropy estimation scheme, together with the corresponding mutual information estimation method. Firstly, we apply the k-NN entropy estimation theory to split image blocks, describing block-wise intra-frame spatial correlation while avoiding the curse of dimensionality. Secondly, we propose the corresponding mutual information estimator based on feature-based image calibration and straight-forward correlation enhancement. The estimator is designed to evaluate the compression performance gain of using priori information. Numerical results on natural and remote-sensing images show that the proposed scheme obtains an estimation accuracy gain by 10% compared with conventional image entropy estimators. We find that state firms are more likely to obtain government approval to conduct seasoned equity offerings than non-state firms.
