1Research on preservation and enrichment mechanisms of organic matter in muddy sediment and mudstone显示文摘Using multidiscipline methodologies, the differences in preservation and enrichment mechanisms of organic matter (OM) in muddy sediment and mudstone are investigated. In clay fractions, concentra- tions of TOC and chloroform bitumen “A” are significantly higher than those in coarser fractions. This indicates that clay minerals (CM) play an important role in enriching OM. The content of chloroform bitumen “A” increases obviously in the clay fraction, which reveals that dissolvable OM is the main composition of coalesce with clay minerals. Furthermore, TG and DTA data show that OM enrichment mechanisms and preservation forms have multiplicity. Several exothermic peaks in the DTA curves demonstrate that muddy sediment and mudstone contain a number of bioclasts and amorphous OM besides dissolvable OM. Through analyzing with XRD and DTA after mudstone samples were pretreated, the conclusions can be arrived at. Firstly, CM interlayer space of XRD curves and exothermic peaks of DTA curves both change as temperature increases. Secondly, the changes of CM interlayer space and exothermic peaks are concordant and stable around 350℃. All these are the features that OM enters CM interlayers to form stable organo-clay complexes. Therefore, the combination format of OM with CM is not only surface adsorption, partial OM enters CM interlayers to form stable organo-clay complexes. 3Neuron stem cell NLRP6 sustains hippocampal neurogenesis to resist stress-induced depression显示文摘Neurogenesis decline in hippocampal dentate gyrus(DG)participates in stress-induced depressive-like behaviors,but the underlying mechanism remains poorly understood.Here,we observed low-expression of NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 6(NLRP6)in hippocampus of stress-stimulated mice,being consistent with high corticosterone level.NLRP6 was found to be abundantly expressed in neural stem cells(NSCs)of DG.Both Nlrp6 knockout(Nlrp6^(-/-))and NSCconditional Nlrp6 knockout(Nlrp6CKO)mice were susceptible to stress,being more likely to develop depressive-like behaviors.Interestingly,NLRP6 was required for NSC proliferation in sustaining hippocampal neurogenesis and reinforcing stress resilience during growing up.Nlrp6 deficiency promoted esophageal cancer-related gene 4(ECRG4)expression and caused mitochondrial dysfunction.Corticosterone as a stress factor significantly down-regulated NLRP6 expression,damaged mitochondrial function and suppressed cell proliferation in NSCs,which were blocked by Nlrp6 overexpression.ECRG4 knockdown reversed corticosterone-induced NSC mitochondrial function and cell proliferation disorders.Pioglitazone,a well-known clinical drug,up-regulated NLRP6 expression to inhibit ECRG4 expression in its protection against corticosterone-induced NSC mitochondrial dysfunction and proliferation restriction.In conclusion,this study demonstrates that NLRP6 is essential to maintain mitochondrial homeostasis and proliferation in NSCs,and identifies NLRP6 as a promising therapeutic target for hippocampal neurogenesis decline linked to depression.Chuanfeng Tang Qiaona Wang Jingyan Shen Congying Wang Hong Ding Shiyu Wen Fan Yang Ruiqing Jiao Xingxin Wu Jianmei Li Lingdong Kong 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,5:3
4Effects of sludge characteristics on electrical resistance and energy consumption during electro-dewatering process显示文摘The increase of electrical resistance(ER)and energy consumption(EC)during the later stage of dewatering is a major problem hindering the development of electro-dewatering(EDW)technology.As the variations of sludge characteristics are significant during the EDW process,the relationships between sludge characteristics and ER and EC during EDW remain unclear.In this study,the effects of moisture content(MC),thickness,pH,conductivity,zeta potential,temperature,and gas volume on the ER and EC during the EDW process were statistically investigated using correlation and multiple linear regression analyses.Herein,the results showed that the ER of the sludge near the anode was primarily affected by pH,whereas the sludge near the cathode was primarily affected by the MC and conductivity.Further,sludge temperature and conductivity were the most reliable indicators to predict the EC near the anode and cathode,respectively.The results of this study provide theoretical guidance useful for solving the increase of ER and EC during the later stage of the EDW process.Li Sha Xiaoyan Yu Zhangxiang Wu Xingxin Liu Shuting Zhang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,3:2
5Protective effect of multi-row HDPE board sand fences:A wind tunnel study显示文摘Recently,sand fences,made of high density polyethylene(HDPE)board,which is resistant against harsh plateau environmental conditions,could possibly be used to control the wind-blown sand along the Qinghai section of the Golmud-Korla Railway.In this paper,wind tunnel simulation was performed on the protective effect of multiple rows of HDPE board sand fences on wind-blown sand.Two parameters have been used to reflect the protective effect of sand fences,that is,windproof efficiency and sand control efficiency,referring to the reduction rates of wind speed at a height of 0.04 m and sand flux in a run of test with the fence compared those in the control run of test without it,respectively.The test results showed that when the porosity was 30%,the single-row sand fence had the best wind proof and sand control efficiency with respective values of 46%and 65.3%.The windproof efficiencies of double-row and triple-row sand fences at 20H were 59%and 62%,respectively.Compared with the windproof effi-ciency of the single-row sand fence,those of the two-row and three-row fences increased by 13%and 16%,respectively:The maximum sand control efficiency of the double-row and triple-row sand fences were 92.1%and 96.5%,increased by 26.8%and 31.2%,respectively,compared with that of the single-row sand fence.This study indicates that the sand control efficiency after adding one or two rows was not double or triple that of the single-row fence,while the first-row sand fence played a major protective role.Compared with the double-row sand fences,the effect of the third row sand fence in triple-row sand fences is limited,and thus double-row HDPE board sand fences with the porosity of 30%are rec-ommended to control wind-blown sand along the Qinghai section of the Golmud-Korla Railway.Kai Zhang Peiwen Zhao Jianchang Zhao Xingxin Zhang 2021International Soil and Water Conservation Research2021,9,1:2

20Effect of interplanetary shock on an ongoing substorm:Simultaneous satellite-ground auroral observations显示文摘Substorm processes have been studied in detail,and it is well known that interplanetary(IP)shock encountering the terrestrial magnetosphere causes global responses.However,how IP shock compression to the magnetosphere affects the development of an ongoing substorm remains uninvestigated.Herein,the simultaneous satellite and ground-based auroral evolutions associated with an IP shock impact on the magnetopause during an ongoing substorm on May 7th,2005,were examined.The IMAGE satellite over the Southern Hemisphere captured the global development substorm,which was initiated at 17:38:47 UT.The poleward branch of the nightside auroral oval was fortuitously monitored by an all-sky camera at the Zhongshan Station(-74.5°magnetic latitude,ZHO)in Antarctica.The satellite imager observed continuous brightening and broadening of the nightside auroral oval after the IP shock arrival.The simultaneous ground-based optical aurora measurement displayed the intensification and expansion of a preexisting auroral surge poleward of the aurora oval.The geomagnetic field variations and the instantly increased PC indices indicated an elevated merging rate and enhanced the convection-related DP-2 currents.Therefore,this IP shock transient impact did not significantly change the ongoing development of the substorm,although it meets the magnetospheric precondition hypothesis.LIU JianJun CHEN XiangCai WANG ZhiQiang HU ZeJun ZHAO XingXin HU HongQiao HAN DeSheng LUI A.T.Y 2023Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,3:1
