| 1 | Selection and development of representative simple sequence repeat primers and multiplex SSR sets for high throughput automated genotyping in maize显示文摘In the current study, 1900 maize simple sequence repeat (SSR) primers published in MaizeGDB were screened utilizing reference literature, 15 representative Chinese maize inbred lines and 15 Chinese maize hybrids from national regional testing. In total, 500 highly polymorphic primers were identified and used to construct a genetic map. 100 evenly distributed primers, 10 primers per chromosome, were further selected as a set of universal SSR core primers, recommended as preferred primers for general studies. These core primers were then redesigned and used to construct a high throughput multiplex PCR system based on a five-color fluorescence capillary detection system. | 2 | Acupuncture at the Taixi(KI3) acupoint activates cerebral neurons in elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment显示文摘Our previous findings have demonstrated that acupuncture at the Taixi(KI3) acupoint in healthy youths can activate neurons in cognitive-related cerebral cortex. Here, we investigated whether acupuncture at this acupoint in elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment can also activate neurons in these regions. Resting state and task-related functional magnetic resonance imaging showed that the pinprick senstation of acupuncture at the Taixi acupoint differed significantly between elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment and healthy elderly controls. Results showed that 20 brain regions were activated in both groups of participants, including the bilateral anterior cingulate gyrus(Brodmann areas [BA] 32, 24), left medial frontal cortex(BA 9, 10, 11), left cuneus(BA 19), left middle frontal gyrus(BA 11), left lingual gyrus(BA 18), right medial frontal gyrus(BA 11), bilateral inferior frontal gyrus(BA 47), left superior frontal gyrus(BA11), right cuneus(BA 19, 18), right superior temporal gyrus(BA 38), left subcallosal gyrus(BA 47), bilateral precuneus(BA 19), right medial frontal gyrus(BA 10), right superior frontal(BA 11), left cingulate gyrus(BA 32), left precentral gyrus(BA 6), and right fusiform gyrus(BA 19). | 6 | Efficacy of Shenzhuo formula on diabetic kidney disease:a retrospective study显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the efficacy of a traditional Chinese medicine,Shenzhuo formula,on patients with diabetic kidney disease(DKD).METHODS:Eighty-eight outpatients with DKD were enrolled.Changes in estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR),creatinine clearance,serum creatinine,blood-urea-nitrogen,albuminuria,glycosylated hemoglobin(Hb_(A1C)),blood pressure,and lipid profile were measured and analyzed before and after intervention with Shenzhuo formula for 1,3,6,9,12,and 18 months.RESULTS:Compared with the baseline amounts,serum creatinine decreased,and eGFR and creatinine clearance increased,significantly after intervention for 1,3,6,9,12,and 18 months(all P < 0.05).Mean eGFR increased by 2.11 mL/min per 1.73 m7 y after18-month treatment.Urinary protein at 24 h decreased significantly after 1,3,9,and 12 months(P < 0.05).Hb_(A1C) decreased significantly(P < 0.05) after 3,6,9,12,and 18 months,and systolic blood pressure decreased significantly(P < 0.05) after 1,3,and 6 months.Total cholesterol decreased significantly(P < 0.05) after 1,3,6,and 18 months.Triglyceride and low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol decreased significantly(P < 0.05) after 1 and 3 months.CONCLUSION:Shenzhuo formula can improve eGFR and possibly slow DKD progression.Shenzhuo formula can also lower Hb_(A1C),lipid levels and blood pressure. | Tian Jiaxing Zhao Linhua Zhou Qiang Liu Wenke Chen Xinyan Lian Fengmei Tong Xiaolin | 2015 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,5: | 8 |
| 7 | Ionospheric electromagnetic perturbations observed on DEMETER satellite before Chile M7.9 earthquake显示文摘Based on the ionospheric electromagnetic data observed on DEMETER satellite of France, the ionospheric electromagnetic signals were analyzed within 10 days before Chile M7.9 earthquake on November 14, 2007. It is found that, low frequency electromagnetic disturbances began to increase in a large scale of latitude, and reached to a maximum one week prior to the earthquake, and at about three days before the quake, the peak values shifted to lower latitude. Taking three days as a group, spatial images of a few parameters were analyzed, from which it can be seen during the five days prior to this earthquake, the amplitude and scale of anomalies are enlarged, while the epicenter is located at the boundary of anomalous region. | 8 | Recent progress in the numerical modeling for organic thin film solar cells显示文摘Device modeling is constructive in finding the dependency of devices efficiency on structure parameters and material properties. For the sake of looking into the physics mechanism of organic solar cells (OSCs), as well as predicting their maximum attainable efficiency, numerical modeling is widely utilized to simulate the behavior of OSCs. Although some indispensable parameters are neglected or hypothesized because of inexplicitness in simulation models for OSCs, numerical modeling can describe the kinetic process in OSCs intuitively. This paper summarizes the optical/electrical models in the BHJ solar cell, as well as addresses their corresponding development in recent years on the basis of device physics and its working principle. Applications of numerical modeling and comments on modeling results are summarized. | 9 | Classification of seamount morphology and its evaluating significance of ferromanganese crust in the central Pacific Ocean显示文摘Using the SeaBeam technology, the morphology of seamount and its relation to the formation of cobalt-rich crust in the central Pacific Ocean were surveyed during the cruise in 2003 for marine mineral resources. The result shows that seamounts can be divided morphologically into the spire seamount and the flat topped seamount. These two types of seamount bear great differences in their landform, lithology and cobalt-rich crust. On the upper portion of the flat topped seamount, the flat top and the sharp escarpments are unfavorable to the growth of crust, and, consequently, the crusts here are mostly laminar or gravelly, their thicknesses generally show great variations, and the consecutive ore body often develops in its deep water region. On the spire topped seamount, however, the flat area is small, and its gradient is constant without large variation from the top to the bottom. This favors the growth of cobalt-rich crust and often leads to consecutive tabular ore body of medium thickness, occurring on the spire topped seamount from the shallow water region to the deep water region. The cobalt-rich crust on the spire topped seamount is much better than that on the flat topped seamount for the crust abundance, crust coverage and number of ore-occurrences within unit area. Furthermore, the crust on the spire topped seamount is rich in cobalt, nickel, manganese elements of high economic value. | 10 | Information extraction and CT reconstruction of liver images based on diffraction enhanced imaging显示文摘X-ray phase-contrast imaging (PCI) is a new emerging imaging technique that generates a high spatial resolution and high contrast of biological soft tissues compared to conventional radiography. Herein a biomedical application of diffraction enhanced imaging (DEI) is presented. As one of the PCI methods, DEI derives contrast from many different kinds of sample information, such as the sample’s X-ray absorption, refraction gradient and ultra-small-angle X-ray scattering (USAXS) properties, and the sample information is expressed by three parametric images. Combinedwith computed tomography (CT), DEI-CT can produce 3D volumetric images of the sample and can be used for investigating micro-structures of biomedical samples. Our DEI experiments for liver samples were implemented at the topography station of Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF). The results show that by using our provided information extraction method and DEI-CT reconstruction approach, the obtained parametric images clearly display the inner structures of liver tissues and the morphology of blood vessels. Furthermore, the reconstructed 3D view of the liver blood vessels exhibits the micro blood vessels whose minimum diameter is on the order of about tens of microns, much better than its conventional CT reconstruction at a millimeter resolution. | 14 | Adverse associations of sedentary behavior with cancer incidence and all-cause mortality:A prospective cohort study显示文摘Background:Inconsistent results have been reported in developed countries for relationships between sedentary behavior and cancer incidence and mortality,and evidence from the Chinese population is scarce.This study aimed to investigate such relationships in large Chinese population-based prospective cohorts and to explore the joint effect and interaction of sedentary behavior and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity(MVPA)on these relationships.Methods:We included 95,319 Chinese adults without cancer from 3 large cohorts and assessed their sedentary behavior and physical activity with a unified questionnaire.Cancer incidence and mortality were confirmed by interviewing participants or their proxies and checking hospital records and death certificates.Hazard ratios(HRs)and 95%confidence intervals(95%CIs)for cancer and mortality were estimated using Cox proportional hazards regression models.Results:During 559,002 person-years of follow-up,2388 cancer events,1571 cancer deaths,and 4562 all-cause deaths were recorded.Sedentary behavior was associated with increased risk of developing cancer and deaths in a doseresponse manner.The multivariable-adjusted HRs(95%CIs)were the following:HR=1.16,95%CI:1.01-1.33;HR=1.24,95%CI:1.04-1.48;and HR=1.15,95%CI:1.04-1.28 for cancer incidence,cancer mortality,and all-cause mortality,respectively,for those having≥10 h/day of sedentary time compared with those having<6 h/day of sedentary time.Sedentary populations(≥10 h/day)developed cancer or died 4.09 years and 2.79 years earlier,respectively,at the index age of 50 years.Failure to achieve the recommended level of MVPA may further aggravate the adverse associations,with the highest cancer and mortality risks being observed among participants with both≥10 h/day of sedentary time and<150 min/week of MVPA.Limitations of this study include the fact that physical activity information was obtained via questionnaire instead of objective measurement and that there were insufficient incident cases for the analysis of associations between sedentary behavior and site-specific cancers.Conclusion:Sedentary behavior was associated with an increased risk of cancer and all-cause mortality among Chinese adults,especially for those with≥10 h/day of sedentary time.It is necessary to reduce sedentary time,in addition to increasing MVPA levels,for the prevention of cancer and premature death. | Yuan Lin Qiong Liu Fangchao Liu Keyong Huang Jianxin Li Xueli Yang Xinyan Wang Jichun Chen Xiaoqing Liu Jie Cao Chong Shen Ling Yu Fanghong Lu Xianping Wu Liancheng Zhao Ying Li Dongsheng Hu Xiangfeng Lu Jianfeng Huang Dongfeng Gu | 2021 | Journal of Sport and Health Science2021,10,5: | 2 |
| 15 | A near-infrared phosphorescent probe for F^- based on a cationic iridium(Ⅲ) complex with triarylboron moieties显示文摘In this work, a near-infrared (NIR) phosphorescent probe for F- based on a cationic Ir(Ⅲ) complex [Ir(Bpq)2(quqo)]PF6 (1) with dimesitylboryl (Mes2B) groups on the cyclometalated C^N ligands (Bpq) and 2-(quinolin-2-yl)quinoxaline (quqo) as N^N ligand was designed and synthesized. The excited state properties of 1 were investigated in detail using molecular orbital cal- culations and experimental methods. Upon excitation, complex 1 shows NIR phosphorescent emission around 680 nm. Inter- estingly, the complex can be excited with long wavelength around 610 nm. Such long-wavelength excitation can reduce the background emission interference and improve the signal-to-noise ratio. Furthermore, the selective binding between boron at- om and F- can give rise to the quenching of emission and realize the near-infrared phosphorescent sensing for F-. | 16 | Flesh quality of hybrid grouper(Epinephelus fuscoguttatus♀×Epinephelus lanceolatus♂)fed with hydrolyzed porcine mucosasupplemented low fishmeal diet显示文摘Iso-nitrogenous and iso-lipidic diets containing 0%,3%,6%,9%,and 12%hydrolyzed porcine mucosa(namely,HPM0,HPM3,HPM6,HPM9,and HPM12)were prepared to evaluate their effects on the growth performance,muscle nutrition composition,texture property,and gene expression related to muscle growth of hybrid groupers(Epinephelus fuscoguttatus\Epinephelus lanceolatus_).Groupers were fed to apparent satiation at 08:00 and 16:00 every day for a total of 56 days.It was found that the weight gain percentage in the HPM0,HPM3,and HPM6 groups did not differ(P>0.05).The cooking loss and drip loss of the dorsal muscle in the HPM3 group were lower than those in the HPM6 and HPM9 groups(P<0.05).The hardness and chewiness of the dorsal muscle in the HPM3 group were higher than those in the HPM0,HPM9,and HPM12 groups(P<0.05).The gumminess in the HPM3 group was higher than that in the HPM9 and HPM12 groups(P<0.05).The total essential amino acid content of the dorsal muscle in the HPM12 group was higher than that in the HPM0 group(P<0.05).The contents of total n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid and total n-3 highly unsaturated fatty acid,as well as the ratio of n-3/n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid in the dorsal muscle was higher in the HPM0 group than in all other groups(P<0.05).The relative expressions of gene myogenic factor 5,myocyte enhancer factor 2c,myocyte enhancer factor 2a,myosin heavy chain,transforming growth factor-beta 1(TGF-b1),and follistatin(FST)were the highest in the dorsal muscle of the HPM3 group.The results indicated that the growth performance of hybrid grouper fed a diet with 6%HPM and 27%fish meal was as good as that of the HPM0 group.When fish ingested a diet containing 3%HPM,the expression of genes TGF-β1 and FST involved in muscle growth were upregulated,and then the muscle quality related to hardness and chewiness were improved.An appropriate amount of HPM could be better used in grouper feed. | Xuanyi Yang Xinyan Zhi Ziling Song Guanghui Wang Xumin Zhao Shuyan Chi Beiping Tan | 2022 | Animal Nutrition2022,,1: | 2 |
