| 1 | The ultraviolet and blue luminescence properties of ZnO:Zn thin film显示文摘The ultraviolet (UV) and blue luminescence of Zn-rich zinc oxide thin film deposited by electron-beam evaporation have been investigated at room temperature (RT). We observed that the UV and blue electroluminescence (EL) emission band centered around 480 nm which is blue shifted in comparison with that of the ZnO thin film prepared by low pressure metal organic chemical vapor deposition (LP MOCVD). The UV emission is much stronger than blue emission in the photoluminescence (PL) spectra. The field-induced ionization of excited luminescent centers of ZnO:Zn thin film at high electric field and the difference between PL and EL are discussed. | 2 | Pollution characteristics and health risk assessment of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons during heating season in Beijing显示文摘Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and their nitrated derivatives(NPAHs)attract continuous attention due to their outstanding carcinogenicity and mutagenicity.In order to investigate the diurnal variations,sources,formation mechanism,and health risk assessment of them in heating season,particulate matter(PM)were collected in Beijing urban area from December 26,2017 to January 17,2018.PAHs and NPAHs in PM were quantitatively analyzed via gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS).Average daily concentrations of PAHs and NPAHs were(78±54)ng/m^(3)and(783±684)pg/m^(3),respectively.The concentrations of them were significantly higher at nighttime than at daytime,and NPAHs concentrations were 1-2 orders of magnitude lower than PAHs concentrations.In the heating season,the dominant species of PAHs include benzo[b]fluoranthene,fluoranthene,pyrene,and chrysene,while 9-nitroanthracene,2+3-nitrofluoranthene,and 2-nitropyrene were dominant species for NPAHs.NPAHs were found to have a single peak during heating and to be primarily distributed in the 0.4-0.7μm particle size.Primary emissions such as biomass burning,coal combustion,and traffic emissions were the major sources of PAHs.NPAHs were produced by the primary source of vehicle emissions and the secondary reaction triggered by OH radicals,as well as biomass burning during daytime.According to the health risk assessment,the total carcinogenic risk was higher in adults than in children.While upon oral ingestion,the carcinogenic risk in children was higher than that of adults,but the risk of adults was higher than children through skin contact and respiratory inhalation. | Xurong Bai Jie Wei Yanqin Ren Rui Gao Fahe Chai Hong Li Fei Xu Yuxue Kong | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,1: | 3 |
| 3 | Influence of viscosity on the phase transformation of amorphous calcium carbonate in fluids:An understanding of the medium effect in biomimetic mineralization显示文摘Biological mineral generation via an amorphous precursor is a topic of great current interest. Various factors such as the temperature, solution composition and presence of organic molecules can influence this important inorganic process. Here we demonstrate that this mineral transformation can actually readily be regulated by solution viscosity, a fundamental but often overlooked property. In our experiment, amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC), a key model compound in biomimetic mineralization studies, is synthesized and dispersed into inert dispersants with different viscosities and the crystallization process is examined by using FT-IR spectroscopy and XRD. It is found that the inhibition of the transformation of ACC becomes more significant with increasing fluid viscosity. This phenomenon can be explained by the differences in ion diffusion in different media. Furthermore, the resulting crystals always have different morphologies and size distributions although they all have the calcite structure. | 11 | Impacts of meteorology and emission variations on the heavy air pollution episode in North China around the 2020 Spring Festival显示文摘Based on the Weather Research and Forecasting model and the Models-3 community multi-scale air quality model(WRF-CMAQ),this study analyzes the impacts of meteorological conditions and changes in air pollutant emissions on the heavy air pollution episode occurred over North China around the 2020 Spring Festival(January to Februray 2020).Regional reductions in air pollutant emissions required to eliminate the PM2.5 heavy pollution episode are also quantified.Our results found that meteorological conditions for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding'2+26'cities are the worst during the heavy pollution episode around the 2020 Spring Festival as compared with two other typical heavy pollution episodes that occurred after 2015.However,because of the substantial reductions in air pollutant emissions in the'2+26'cities in recent years,and the32%extra reduction in emissions during January to February 2020 compared with the baseline emission levels of the autumn and winter of 2019 to 2020,the maximum PM2.5 level during this heavy pollution episode around the 2020 Spring Festival was much lower than that in the other two typical episodes.Yet,these emission reductions are still not enough to eliminate regional heavy pollution episodes.Compared with the actual emission levels during January to February 2020,a 20%extra reduction in air pollutant emissions in the'2+26'cities(or a 45%extra reduction compared with baseline emission levels of the autumn and winter of 2019 to 2020)could help to generally eliminate regionwide severe pollution episodes,and avoid heavy pollution episodes that last three or more consecutive days in Beijing;a 40%extra reduction in emissions(or a 60%extra reduction compared with baseline emission levels of the autumn and winter of 2019 to 2020)could help to generally eliminate regionwide and continuous heavy pollution episodes.Our analysis finds that during the clean period after the heavy pollution episode around the 2020 Spring Festival,the regionwide heavy pollution episode would only occur with at least a 10-fold increase in air pollutant emissions. | Wenbo XUE Xurong SHI Gang YAN Jinnan WANG Yanling XU Qian TANG Yanli WANG Yixuan ZHENG Yu LEI | 2021 | Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,2: | 1 |

| 17 | Mechanism of promoted dipeptide formation on hydroxyapatite crystal surfaces显示文摘The formation of dipeptides from amino acids can be driven by hydroxyapatite at a relatively low temperature in air. For example, the formation of (Ala)2 from Ala is induced on hydroxyapatite at 110°C with considerable yield. Typically, condensing agents, high temperatures (>250°C) or high pressures (>25 MPa) are required to drive the condensation of amino acids. Similar effects are observed in the condensation of Gly, Glu and Asp. Experiments demonstrate that hydroxyapatite is an effective inorganic catalytic agent, reducing the activation barrier for the formation of dipeptides by more than 50%. HAP promotes condensation by adsorbing amino acid monomers in an organized manner, which decreases the distance between amino and carboxyl groups on neighboring molecules and extends the contact time of the reaction groups. This work provides a chemical understanding of the primitive condensation of amino acids and reveals a mechanism for enhancement of mineral catalysts.
