1Sonodynamic therapy(SDT): a novel strategy for cancer nanotheranostics显示文摘Sonodynamic therapy(SDT) is a promising non-invasive therapeutic modality. Compared to photo-inspired therapy, SDT provides many opportunities and benefits, including deeper tissue penetration, high precision, less side effects, and good patient compliance. Thanks to the facile engineerable nature of nanotechnology, nanoparticles-based sonosensitizers exhibit predominant advantages, such as increased SDT efficacy, binding avidity, and targeting specificity. This review aims to summarize the possible mechanisms of SDT, which can be expected to provide the theoretical basis for SDT development in the future. We also extensively discuss nanoparticle-assisted sonosensitizers to enhance the outcome of SDT. 2Meningeal lymphatic vessels regulate brain tumor drainage and immunity显示文摘Recent studies have shown that meningeal lymphatic vessels(MLVs),which are located both dorsally and basally beneath the skull,provide a route for draining macromolecules and trafficking immune cells from the central nervous system(CNS)into cervical lymph nodes(CLNs),and thus represent a potential therapeutic target for treating neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory diseases.However,the roles of MLVs in brain tumor drainage and immunity remain unexplored.Here we show that dorsal MLVs undergo extensive remodeling in mice with intracranial gliomas or metastatic melanomas.RNA-seq analysis of MLV endothelial cells revealed changes in the gene sets involved in lymphatic remodeling,fluid drainage,as well as inflammatory and immunological responses.Disruption of dorsal MLVs alone impaired intratumor fluid drainage and the dissemination of brain tumor cells to deep CLNs(dCLNs).Notably,the dendritic cell(DC)trafficking from intracranial tumor tissues to dCLNs decreased in mice with defective dorsal MLVs,and increased in mice with enhanced dorsal meningeal lymphangiogenesis.Strikingly,disruption of dorsal MLVs alone,without affecting basal MLVs or nasal LVs,significantly reduced the efficacy of combined anti-PD-1/CTLA-4 checkpoint therapy in striatal tumor models.Furthermore,mice bearing tumors overexpressing VEGF-C displayed a better response to anti-PD-1/CTLA-4 combination therapy,and this was abolished by CCL21/CCR7 blockade,suggesting that VEGF-C potentiates checkpoint therapy via the CCL21/CCR7 pathway.Together,the results of our study not only demonstrate the functional aspects of MLVs as classic lymphatic vasculature,but also highlight that they are essential in generating an efficient immune response against brain tumors.Xueting Hu Qiuping Deng Lu Ma Qingqing Li Yidong Chen Yuhan Liao Fan Zhou Chen Zhang Linlin Shao Jun Feng Tubao He Weihai Ning Yan Kong Yingqing Huo Aibin He Bing Liu Jingjing Zhang Ralf Adams Yulong He Fuchou Tang Xiuwu Bian Jincai Luo 2020Cell Research2020,30,3:11

5Effect of laser incident energy on microstructures and mechanical properties of 12CrNi2Y alloy steel by direct laser deposition显示文摘This work aims to establish the effect of laser energy area density(EAD) as the laser incident energy on density, microstructures and mechanical properties of direct laser deposition(DLD) 12CrNi2 Y alloy steel.The results show that the density of DLD 12CrNi2 Y alloy steel increases at initial stage and then decreases with an increase of EAD, the highest density of alloy steel sample is 98.95%. The microstructures of DLD12CrNi2 Y alloy steel samples are composed of bainite, ferrite and carbide. With increase of EAD, the microstructures transform from polygonal ferrite(PF) to granular bainite(GB). The martensite-austenite constituent(M-A) in GB transforms from flake-like paralleling to the bainite ferrite laths to granular morphology. It is also found that the average width of laths in finer GB can be refined from 532 nm to 302 nm, which improves the comprehensive properties of DLD 12 CrNi2 Y alloy steel such as high hardness of 342 ± 9 HV_(0.2), yield strength of 702 ± 16 MPa, tensile strength of 901 ± 14 MPa and large elongation of15.2%±0.6%. 6Electrochemical behavior of microbiologically influenced corrosion on Fe_3Al in marine environment显示文摘In this article,microbiologically influenced corrosion behavior of Fe3Al intermetal-lic compound in microorganism culture medium has been investigated by using weight loss methods,electrochemical techniques,and electron microscopy.Polar-ization curves showed that a sharp electrical current peak caused by surface pitting could be observed after Fe3Al electrodes were immersed in culture medium for 15 days when the polarization potential was about-790 mV vs SCE.Based on the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and the equivalent circuit parameters of the associated system,the corrosion products were found to exhibit a two-layer structured feature and the microorganisms could induce pitting and erosion corrosion of the inner layer.In addition,the passivating film of the inner layer was absolutely destroyed by microbial metabolic products.Xueting CHANG Shougang CHEN Guanhui GAO Yansheng YIN Sha CHENG Tao LIU 2009Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2009,22,4:5

8miR-410 induces both epithelial–mesenchymal transition and radioresistance through activation of the PI3K/mTOR pathway in non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Radiotherapy remains one of the major treatments for non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients;whereas intrinsic or acquired radioresistance limits its efficacy.Nevertheless,most studies so far have only focused on acquired resistance.The exact mechanisms of intrinsic radioresistance in NSCLC are still unclear.A few studies have suggested that epithelial–mesenchymal transition(EMT)is associated with radioresistance in NSCLC.However,little is known about whether the abnormal expression of specific microRNAs induces both EMT and radioresistance.We previously found that miR-410 has multiple roles as an oncomiRNA in NSCLC.In this study,we revealed that miR-410 overexpression promoted EMT and radioresistance,accompanied by enhanced DNA damage repair both in vitro and in vivo.Conversely,knockdown of miR-410 showed the opposite effects.We further demonstrated that PTEN was a direct target of miR-410 by using bioinformatic tools and dual-luciferase reporter assays,and the miR-410-induced EMT and radioresistance were reversed by PI3K,Akt,and mTOR inhibitors or by restoring the expression of PTEN in NSCLC cells.In addition,we preliminarily found that the expression of miR-410 was positively correlated with EMT and negatively associated with the expression of PTEN in NSCLC specimens.In summary,these results demonstrated that miR-410 is an important regulator on enhancing both NSCLC EMT and radioresistance by targeting the PTEN/PI3K/mTOR axis.The findings suggest that miR-410-induced EMT might significantly contribute to the enhanced radioresistance.Therefore,miR-410 may serve as a potential biomarker or therapeutic target for NSCLC radiotherapy.Yue Yuan Hu Liao Qiang Pu Xixian Ke Xueting Hu Yongfang Ma Xinmei Luo Qianqian Jiang Yi Gong Min Wu Lunxu Liu Wen Zhu 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:5

10Study on Local Resistance of non-Newtonian Power Law Fluid in Elbow Pipes显示文摘This paper focuses on the flow characteristic and local resistance of non-Newtonian power law fluid in a curved90° bend pipe with circular cross-sections,which are widely used in industrial applications.By employing numerical simulation and theoretical analysis the properties of the flow and local resistance of power law fluid under different working conditions are obtained.To explore the change rule the experiment is carried out by changing the Reynolds number,the wall roughness and different diameter ratio of elbow pipe.The variation of the local resistance coefficient with the Reynolds number,the diameter ratio and the wall roughness is presented comprehensively in the paper.The results show that the local resistance force coefficient hardly changes with Reynolds number of the power law fluid;the wall roughness has a significant impact on the local resistance coefficient.As the pipe wall roughness increasing,the coefficient of local resistance force will increase.The main reason of the influence of the roughness on the local resistance coefficient is the increase of the eddy current region in the power law fluid flow,which increases the kinetic energy dissipation of the main flow.This paper provides theoretical and numerical methods to understand the local resistance property of non-Newtonian power law fluid in elbow pipes.ZHANG Hao XU Tiantian ZHANG Xinxin WANG Yuxiang WANG Yuancheng LIU Xueting 2016Journal of Thermal Science2016,25,3:4

12Boundary-aware texture region segmentation from manga显示文摘Due to the lack of color in manga(Japanese comics), black-and-white textures are often used to enrich visual experience. With the rising need to digitize manga, segmenting texture regions from manga has become an indispensable basis for almost all manga processing, from vectorization to colorization. Unfortunately, such texture segmentation is not easy since textures in manga are composed of lines and exhibit similar features to structural lines(contour lines). So currently, texture segmentation is still manually performed, which is labor-intensive and time-consuming. To extract a texture region, various texture features have been proposed for measuring texture similarity, but precise boundaries cannot be achieved since boundary pixels exhibit different features from inner pixels. In this paper, we propose a novel method which also adopts texture features to estimate texture regions. Unlike existing methods, the estimated texture region is only regarded an initial, imprecise texture region. We expand the initial texture region to the precise boundary based on local smoothness via a graph-cut formulation. This allows our method to extract texture regions with precise boundaries. 13Mailuoning prevents high-glucose-mediated human umbilical vein endothelial cells apoptosis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigated the role of Mailuoning in the prevention of high-glucose-mediated ce apoptosis in human umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC) and the mechanisms involved. METHODS: MTT assay was used to investigate ce viability, western blot was used to investigate pro tein expression, and flow cytometric detection technology was used to detect cell apoptosis. RESULTS: Exposure of HUVEC to high glucose (50 mM) significantly suppressed cell viability and increased cell apoptosis compared with normal glu cose (11 mM) (all P<0.05). However, Mailuoning pre vented high-glucose-induced HUVEC apoptosis in dose-dependent manner. Further studies indicatedthat Mailuoning suppressed high-glucose-induced p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphorylation, but had no effect on extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 and Akt phosphorylation. 15Pressure of Newtonian Fluid Flow through Curved Pipes and Elbows显示文摘Under conditions of high temperature and high pressure, the non-uniformity of pressure loads has intensified the stress concentration which impacts the safety of curved pipes and elbows. This paper focuses on the pressure distribution and flow characteristic in a curved 90 o bend pipe with circular cross-sections, which are widely used in industrial applications. These flow and pressure characteristics in curved bend pipes have been researched by employing numerical simulation and theoretical analysis. Based on the dimensionless analysis method a formula for the pressure of Newtonian fluid flow through the elbow pipes is deduced. Also the pressure distributions of several elbows with different curvature ratio R/D are obtained by numerical methods. The influence of these non-dimensional parameters such as non-dimensional curvature ratio, Reynolds number and non-dimensional axial angle α and circumferential angle β on the pressure distribution in elbow pipes is discussed in detail. A number of important results have been achieved. 16Removal of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim from reclaimed water and the biodegradation mechanism显示文摘Sulfamethoxazole (SMX)and trimethoprim (TMP)are two critical sulfonamide antibiotics with enhanced persistency that are commonly found in wastewater treatment plants.Recently,more scholars have showed interests in how SMX and TMP antibiotics are biodegraded,which is seldom reported previously.Novel artificial composite soil treatment systems were designed to allow biodegradafion to effectively remove adsorbed SMX and TMP from the surface of clay ceramsites.A synergy between sorption and biodegradation improves the removal of SMX and TMP.One highly efficient SMX and TMP degrading bacteria strain,Bacillus subtilis,was isolated from column reactors.In the removal process,this bacteria decade SMX and TMP to NH4^+,and then further convert NH4^+to NO3^- in a continuous process.Microbial adaptation time was longer for SMX degradation than for TMP,and SMX was also able to be degraded in aerobic conditions.Importantly,the artificial composite soil treatment system is suitable for application in practical engineering.Qinqin Liu Miao Li Xiang Liu Quan Zhang Rui Liu Zhenglu Wang Xueting Shi Jin Quan Xuhui Shen Fawang Zhang 2018Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2018,12,6:2
17Bulk growth and separation of single-walled carbon nanotubes from rhenium catalyst显示文摘Bulk synthesis of single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWNTs)using solid catalyst has been challenging,despite of recent breakthrough in the chirality-specific growth on the flat substrate surface.In this work,we propose a porous magnesia support rhenium catalyst for bulk synthesis of SWNTs.It is found that the well-dispersed catalyst with a high melting point and the optimal chemical vapor deposition reaction conditions account for the growth of SWNTs.Detailed characterizations reveal the produced SWNTs are dominant in(n,n−1)and(n,n−2)species.Furthermore,by using a multicolumn chromatography post-growth separation method,SWNTs with three defined diameter ranges were obtained.This work guides the design of porous oxide supported catalyst for bulk synthesis and diameter-dependent sorting of SWNTs,which will ultimately help harness the extraordinary properties of SWNTs.Chen Ma Yumin Liu Lili Zhang Liu Qian Yiming Zhao Ying Tian Qianru Wu Dong Li Nan Zhao Xueting Zhang Liantao Xin Huaping Liu Pengxiang Hou Chang Liu Maoshuai He Jin Zhang 2022Nano Research2022,15,7:2
