Clinical characteristics of 24 asymptomatic infections with COVID-19 screened among close contacts in Nanjing,China显示文摘Previous studies have showed clinical characteristics of patients with the 2019 novel coronavirus disease(COVID-19)and the evidence of person-to-person transmission.Limited data are available for asymptomatic infections. This study aims to present the clinical characteristics of 24 cases with asymptomatic infection screened from close contacts and to show the transmission potential of asymptomatic COVID-19 virus carriers.Epidemiological investigations were conducted among all close contacts of COVID-19 patients(or suspected patients)in Nanjing,Jiangsu Province,China, from Jan 28 to Feb 9,2020,both in clinic and in community.Asymptomatic carriers were laboratory-confirmed positive for the COVID-19 virus by testing the nucleic acid of the pharyngeal swab samples.Their clinical records, laboratory assessments, and chest CT scans were reviewed. As a result, none of the 24 asymptomatic cases presented any obvious symptoms while nucleic acid screening.Five cases(20.8%)developed symptoms(fever, cough, fatigue, etc.)during hospitalization.Twelve(50.0%)cases showed typical CT images of ground-glass chest and 5(20.8%)presented stripe shadowing in the lungs. The remaining 7(29.2%)cases showed normal CT image and had no symptoms during hospitalization. These 7 cases were younger(median age:14.0 years;P=0.012)than the rest.None of the 24 cases developed severe COVID-19 pneumonia or died. The median communicable period, defined as the interval from the first day of positive nucleic acid tests to the first day of continuous negative tests, was 9.5 days(up to 21 days among the 24 asymptomatic cases).Through epidemiological investigation,we observed a typical asymptomatic transmission to the cohabiting family members, which even caused severe COVID-19 pneumonia.Overall, the asymptomatic carriers identified from close contacts were prone to be mildly ill during hospitalization. However, the communicable period could be up to three weeks and the communicated patients could develop severe illness. These results highlighted the importance of close contact tracing and longitudinally surveillance via virus nucleic acid tests.Further isolation recommendation and continuous nucleic acid tests may also be recommended to the patients discharged. | Zhiliang Hu Ci Song Chuanjun Xu Guangfu Jin Yaling Chen Xin Xu Hongxia Ma Wei Chen Yuan Lin Yishan Zheng Jianming Wang Zhibin Hu Yongxiang Yi Hongbing Shen | 2020 | Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,5: | 77
A Review on Metal-Organic Framework-Derived Porous Carbon-Based Novel Microwave Absorption Materials显示文摘The development of microwave absorption materials(MAMs) is a considerable important topic because our living space is crowed with electromagnetic wave which threatens human’s health. And MAMs are also used in radar stealth for protecting the weapons from being detected. Many nanomaterials were studied as MAMs,but not all of them have the satisfactory performance.Recently,metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) have attracted tremendous attention owing to their tunable chemical structures, diverse properties, large specific surface area and uniform pore distribution.MOF can transform to porous carbon(PC) which is decorated with metal species at appropriate pyrolysis temperature. However, the loss mechanism of pure MOF-derived PC is often relatively simple. In order to further improve the MA performance, the MOFs coupled with other loss materials are a widely studied method. In this review,we summarize the theories of MA,the progress of different MOF-derived PC-based MAMs,tunable chemical structures incorporated with dielectric loss or magnetic loss materials. The different MA performance and mechanisms are discussed in detail. Finally, the shortcomings, challenges and perspectives of MOF-derived PC-based MAMs are also presented. We hope this review could provide a new insight to design and fabricate MOF-derived PC-based MAMs with better fundamental understanding and practical application. | Zhiwei Zhang Zhihao Cai Ziyuan Wang Yaling Peng Lun Xia Suping Ma Zhanzhao Yin Yi Huang | 2021 | Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,4: | 17

Autophagy and cancer treatment: four functional forms of autophagy and their therapeutic applications显示文摘Cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide. Drugs play a pivotal role in cancer treatment, but the complex biological processes of cancer cells seriously limit the efficacy of various anticancer drugs. Autophagy, a self-degradative system that maintains cellular homeostasis, universally operates under normal and stress conditions in cancer cells. The roles of autophagy in cancer treatment are still controversial because both stimulation and inhibition of autophagy have been reported to enhance the effects of anticancer drugs. Thus, the important question arises as to whether we should try to strengthen or suppress autophagy during cancer therapy. Currently, autophagy can be divided into four main forms according to its different functions during cancer treatment: cytoprotective(cell survival), cytotoxic(cell death), cytostatic(growth arrest), and nonprotective(no contribution to cell death or survival). In addition, various cell death modes, such as apoptosis, necrosis, ferroptosis, senescence, and mitotic catastrophe, all contribute to the anticancer effects of drugs. The interaction between autophagy and these cell death modes is complex and can lead to anticancer drugs having different or even completely opposite effects on treatment. Therefore, it is important to understand the underlying contexts in which autophagy inhibition or activation will be beneficial or detrimental. That is, appropriate therapeutic strategies should be adopted in light of the different functions of autophagy. This review provides an overview of recent insights into the evolving relationship between autophagy and cancer treatment. | Zhaoshi BAI Yaling PENG Xinyue YE Zhixian LIU Yupeng LI Lingman MA | 2022 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2022,23,2: | 5
Chinese Guideline on the Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases显示文摘Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of mortality in China.Primary prevention of cardiovascular disease with a focus on lifestyle intervention and risk factor control has been shown to effectively delay or prevent the occurrence of cardiovascular events. To promote a healthy lifestyle and enhance the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular risk factors such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, and diabetes, and to improve the overall capacity of primary prevention of cardiovascular disease, the Chinese Society of Cardiology of Chinese Medical Association has collaborated with multiple societies to summarize and evaluate the latest evidence with reference to relevant guidelines and subsequently to develop recommendations for primary cardiovascular disease prevention in Chinese adults. The guideline consists of 10 sections:introduction, methodology for developing the guideline, epidemiology of cardiovascular disease in China and challenges in primary prevention, general recommendations for primary prevention, assessment of cardiovascular risk, lifestyle intervention, blood pressure control, lipid management, management of type 2 diabetes, and use of aspirin. The promulgation and implementation of this guideline will play a key role in promoting the practice of primary prevention for cardiovascular disease in China. | Chinese Society of Cardiology of Chinese Medical Association Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Rehabilitation Committee of Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine Cardiovascular Disease Committee of Chinese Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics Thrombosis Prevention and Treatment Committee of Chinese Medical Doctor Association Dayi Hu Yaling Han Guang Ning Changsheng Ma | 2021 | Cardiology Discovery2021,1,2: | 4
Cost-benefit analysis of China’s Action Plan for Air Pollution Prevention and Control显示文摘China’s rapid economic growth has caused severe air pollution and public health problems. Therefore, the Chinese government launched the Action Plan for Air Pollution Prevention and Control(hereinafter referred to as the“Air Plan”)in 2013-2017 to improve air quality and safeguard public health. In this study,an analytical framework for a cost-benefit analysis applicable to China was constructed, and the costs and benefits of the implementation of the“Air Plan”in 30 cities and provinces in China from 2013 to 2017 were evaluated. Results show that the total cost of implementation of the“Air Plan”is 1.6511 trillion RMB.The benefits of air quality improvement were determined to be 2.4691 trillion RMB through the willingness-to-pay method to calculate the economic loss of premature deaths. The net benefit related to the implementation of the“Air Plan”was 818 billion RMB.The public health benefit of air quality improvement was 1.5 times the cost of the nationwide implementation of the“Air Plan”.At the provincial level, net benefits that reach 279.3 billion RMB were the highest in Guangdong, whereas the benefit-cost ratio, where the benefit was 5.5 times the cost, was the highest in Fujian.Estimations in this study can serve as a reference for China in formulating similar environmental policies and implementing the “3-year Plan to Defend the Blue Sky”.In addition, these estimations have practical significance for advancing the long-term effective mechanisms of the cost-benefit analysis of China5s environmental policies. | Jing ZHANG Hongqiang JIANG Wei ZHANG Guoxia MA Yanchao WANG Yaling LU Xi HU Jia ZHOU Fei PENG Jun BI Jinnan WANG | 2019 | Frontiers of Engineering Management2019,6,4: | 4

Personalized cancer vaccines from bacteria-derived outer membrane vesicles with antibody-mediated persistent uptake by dendritic cells显示文摘Nanocarriers with intrinsic immune adjuvant properties can activate the innate immune system while delivering tumor antigen, thus efficiently facilitating antitumor adaptive immunity.Bacteria-derived outer membrane vesicles(OMVs)are an excellent candidate due to their abundance of pathogen associated molecular patterns. However, during the uptake of OMVs by dendritic cells(DCs),the interaction between lipopolysaccharide and toll-like receptor 4 induces rapid DC maturation and uptake blockage,a phenomenon we refer to as“maturation-induced uptake obstruction'(MUO).Herein we decorated OMV with the DC-targeting aDEC205 antibody(OMV-DEC),which endowed the nanovaccine with an uptake mechanism termed as 4 | Jie Liang Keman Cheng Yao Li Jiaqi Xu Yiwei Chen Nana Ma Qingqing Feng Fei Zhu Xiaotu Ma Tianjiao Zhang Yale Yue Guangna Liu Xinjing Guo Zhiqiang Chen Xinwei Wang Ruifang Zhao Ying Zhao Jian Shi Xiao Zhao Guangjun Nie | 2022 | Fundamental Research2022,2,1: | 2

Carbon interstitial defects causing emission red shift in YAG:Ce phosphor:First-principles calculation显示文摘Y_3 Al_5 O_(12):Ce3+ is the most famous phosphor material due to its excellent photolumincent properties. Here, through first-principles calculation, the effect of carbon interstitial defects on Y_3 Al_5 O_(12):Ce3+phosphor was investigated. It is found that the carbon interstitials tend to occupy the next-nearest sites of Ce^(3+) ion in Y_3 Al_5 O_(12):Ce3+ lattice. Specially, these interstitial defects can shorten the Ce3+-O^(2-) bond length, leading to a larger crystal field splitting of 5 d orbital of the Ce^(3+) atom and bigger 5 d centroid shift. These two factors cause the emission spectrum of Y_3 Al_5 O_(12)(C):Ce^(3+) red shift compared with that of Y_3 Al_5 O_(12):Ce3+. Moreover, with our comparison experiment, we find that the Y_3 Al_5 O_(12)(C):Ce3+ has an obvious red shift compared with that of Y_3 Al_5 O_(12):Ce^(3+) system, which is in accord with our first principles calculation. Our work systematically investigates the impact of the carbon interstitial defect on Y_3 Al_5 O_(12):Ce^(3+),and provides a new route to tune the emission spectrum in Y_3 Al_5 O_(12):Ce^(3+). | Yaling Zheng Weidong Zhuang Xianran Xing Ronghui Liu Yanfeng Li Yuanhong Liu Yunsheng Hu Xiaoxia Chen Lei Chen Xiaole Ma | 2018 | Journal of Rare Earths2018,36,12: | 1

Antithrombotic Management of Atrial Fibrillation Patients Presenting with Coronary Artery Disease:A Consensus Document of the Chinese Society of Cardiology显示文摘The coexistence of coronary artery disease(CAD)and atrial fibrillation(AF)is common in clinical practice.Patients with CAD require antiplatelet therapy to reduce the occurrence of myocardial ischemic events. However, patients with AF at high risk of thromboembolism require oral anticoagulants to reduce the occurrence of thromboembolic events such as stroke. In cases where CAD coexists with AF,the combined use of antiplatelet and anticoagulation therapy can effectively reduce the risk of ischemic and thromboembolic events but increase the risk of bleeding at the same time. The optimal antithrombotic regimen in patients with both CAD and AF has been controversial in clinical practice. In recent years, the expert consensuses on antithrombotic therapy in patients with AF presenting with acute coronary syndrome and/or undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention have been successively released in Europe and North America, and have been updated in a timely manner. In contrast, the guidelines on antithrombotic therapies in China are lacking.Based on published clinical evidence, this consensus incorporated relevant international and Chinese guidelines, consensuses, and expert recommendations, and addressed the issues encountered in the clinical practice of antithrombotic therapy in patients with AF and different types of CAD.The current guideline is of great significance to guide treatment in patients with both CAD and AF in China. | Chinese Society of Cardiology of Chinese Medical Association Editorial Board of Chinese Journal of Cardiology Zuyi Yuan Shulin Wu Yaling Han Peng Qu Shaowen Liu Changsheng Ma Yumei Xue Xinjun Lei | 2021 | Cardiology Discovery2021,1,1: | 1

Effect of statins use on the prevention of venous thromboembolism: a meta-analysis显示文摘Objective: To estimate the effect of statins use on the prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE). Methods: We systematically searched MEDLINE (1980-June 2012), EMBASE (1980-June 2012), Google Scholar, Cochrane Library, and ISI Web of Science, manually reviewed references, and contacted experts. Case-control studies and cohort studies that compared any dose of statin with no statin or placebo are included. Data extraction and study quality evaluation were independently conducted in duplicate. Results: 12 studies including four cohort studies and eight case-control studies were identified and eligible for meta-analysis. Upon meta-analysis, statin use was associated with a statistically significant reduction in the odds of developing VTE (OR 0.91, 95% CI 0.86-0.96). Conclusion: This meta-analysis of current and available literature suggests that statins can reduce patient's risk of developing VTE. Due to the limitations of observational study, this conclusion should be considered with caution, and additionally, specifical well-designed trials are needed. | Zhang Zaiwei Tian Hongyan Pan Junqiang Zhao Yaling Wan Zhaofei Zhang Junbo Ma Qiang Tian Hua Han Junli Liu Ya Deng Jizhao | 2012 | Journal of Medical Colleges of PLA(China)2012,27,5: | 1

Effect of dendritic cell/cytokine-induced killer cell immunobiological cancer therapy combined with adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with triple-negative breast cancer显示文摘Objective The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of dendritic cell(DC)/cytokine-induced killer cell(CIK) immunobiological cancer therapy in patients with triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC) who underwent adjuvant chemotherapy. Methods From January 2010 to October 2013, 120 patients with postoperative TNBC were recruited and included in the study. Patients were enrolled in one of two groups according to whether they accepted DC/CIK immunobiological cancer therapy during adjuvant chemotherapy; the patients in the DC/CIK group underwent adjuvant chemotherapy combined with DC/CIK immunobiological cancer therapy, and the control group underwent adjuvant chemotherapy alone. When six cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy and six cycles of DC/CIK immunobiological cancer therapy had been completed, differences between the two groups with regard to quality of life(Qo L), immunological indicators(CD3, CD4, CD8, and NK cell levels), disease-free survival(DFS), and side effects of chemotherapy and DC/CIK treatment were evaluated. Results In the DC/CIK group, the proportion of NK cells and CD3+ and CD4+ T-cell subgroups significantly increased, and the proportion of CD8+ cells decreased when they were compared before and after DC/CIK therapy(P < 0.05). However, there were no significant changes in the control group. By the final follow-up, DFS of the treatment group and the control group was 38.4 and 34.2 months, respectively. The Qo L improved in the patients treated with chemotherapy plus DC/CIK therapy compared with the patients treated with chemotherapy alone, and the difference between groups was significant(P < 0.05). The side effects of two groups were tolerable and not significantly different between the two groups. Conclusion The DC/CIK treatment had potential benefits for patients with TNBC compared with the control group, and was not associated with any obvious side effects. Therefore, DC/CIK therapy is a safe and effective method for the treatment of TNBC. | Ranran Zhang Wanqing Xie Tao Han Yongye Liu Zhaozhe Liu Fang Guo Yaling Han Zhenyu Ding Yinghui Sun Dongchu Ma Xiaodong Xie | 2015 | The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2015,14,1: | 1
