1Correlation between BRAF^(V600E) mutation and clinicopathological features in pediatric papillary thyroid carcinoma显示文摘In adults, the presence of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation in papillary thyroid cancer(PTC) has been demonstrated to be strongly associated with aggressive cancer-cell characteristics and poor patient prognosis. In contrast, the frequency of this mutation in pediatric PTC has undergone limited study, and the few available estimates range from 0 to 63%. Furthermore, the role of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation in pediatric PTC is controversial; thus, the present study aimed to investigate the prevalence and role of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation in48 pediatric patients with PTC, aged 3–13 years. Of these patients, 41 were diagnosed with classic PTC, five were found to have a follicular variant of PTC, and two to exhibit a diffuse sclerosing PTC variant. The BRAF^(V600E) mutation was identified to be present in 35.4% of the 48 analyzed patients, and in 41.5% of the patients diagnosed with classical PTC. Furthermore, the presence of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation was found to be associated with a patient age at diagnosis of less than ten years(P=0.011), the performance of a thyroidectomy(P=0.03), exhibited tumor multifocality(P=0.02) and/or extra-thyroidal invasion(P=0.003), and both a low MACIS(Metastases, Age, Completeness of resection, Invasion, Size)(P=0.036) and AMES(Age, Metastasis, Extent of tumor,Size)(P=0.001)score. 2Application of Avaatech X-ray fluorescence core-scanning in Sr/Ca analysis of speleothems显示文摘Application of X-ray fluorescence core-scanning(XRF-CS) on both marine and lake sediments has achieved remarkable results. However, its application has not been widely extended to the research on speleothems. In this study, we measure the Sr abundance and the Sr/Ca ratios of three stalagmites(two aragonite stalagmites, one calcite stalagmite) using the state-of-the-art fourth-generation Avaatech high-resolution XRF core scanner. Through comparisons among different scan paths and among different scan resolutions, as well as comparisons with inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer(ICP-OES), Itrax XRF, and Artax XRF results, we confirm that the Avaatech XRF core scanner could precisely, quickly, and nondestructively analyze the high-resolution Sr abundance of speleothems. 3A brief introduction to the FUTang Updating medical REcords(FUTURE)database显示文摘Introduction Futang Research Center of Pediatric Development(FRCPD),the first nonprofit social service organization engaging in pediatric research in China,was founded in May 2013.Until August 2021,FRCPD has 40 tertiary children’s hospitals,accounting for about 65.6%of all national public children’s hospitals,which was reported to be 61 in China Health Statistical Yearbook(2020).The hospitals are distributed in 30 provinces,autonomous regions,and municipalities(except for Tibet autonomous region),and most of them are in the capital of the province,forming a broad frontline representing the best quality of health care for the diagnosis and treatment of children’s disease in China.Based on the idea of sharing,FRCPD realized the exchange of experts,medical resources,research findings,educational events,preventive strategies,and management experiences among members.In the long run,FRCPD aims to continuously promote the quality of healthcare and medical service capability for children in China.Xinyu Wang Yueping Zeng Jian Tian Hui Xu Fei Song Yongli Guo Xin Xu Guoshuang Feng Xin Ni 2021Pediatric Investigation2021,5,3:6
4Abiogenic hydrocarbons in commercial gases from the Songliao Basin,China显示文摘This paper discusses the kinetic fractionation, composition and distribution characteristics of carbon and hydrogen isotopes for various alkane gases formed in different environments, by different mecha- nisms and from different sources in nature. It is demonstrated that the biodegradation or thermode- gradation of complex high-molecule sedimentary organic material can form microbial gas or thermogenic gas. The δ 13C1 value ranges from -110‰ to -50‰ for microbial gases but from -50‰ to -35‰ (even heavier) for thermogenic gases. Controlled by the kinetic isotope fractionation, both microbial and thermogenic gases have δ 13C and δ D values characterized by normal distribution, i.e. δ 13C1< δ 13C2< δ 13C3< δ 13C4 and δ DCH4< δ DC2H6< δ DC3H8<δ DC4H10, and by a positive correlation between the δ 13C and δ D values. Simple carbonbearing molecules (CH4, CO and CO2) can form abiogenic alkane gases via polymerization in the abiological chemical process in nature, with δ 13C1 heavier than -30‰. Moreover, controlled by the kinetic isotope fractionation, abiogenic alkane gases are characterized by a reverse distribution of δ 13C values and a normal trend of δ D values, namely δ 13C1> δ 13C2> δ 13C3> δ 13C4 and δ DCH4<δ DC2H6< δ DC3H8< δ DC4H10. The δ 13C values and δ D values are negatively correlated. Natural gases from 26 commercial gas wells distributed in the Xujiaweizi and Yingshan-Miaotaizi faulted depressions in the Songliao Basin, China, show δ13C1 values ranging from -30.5‰ to -16.7‰ with a very narrow δ D range between -203‰―-196‰. These gases are characterized by a reverse distribution of δ 13C values but a normal distribution of δ D values, and a negative correlation between their δ 13C and δ D values, indicating an abiological origin. The present study has revealed that abiogenic hydrocarbons not only exist in nature but also can make significant contribution to commercial gas reserviors. It is estimated that the reserve volume of alkane gases with abiogenic characteristics in these 26 gas wells in the Songliao Basin is over 500×108 m3. 6Correlation between TERT C228T and clinic-pathological features in pediatric papillary thyroid carcinoma显示文摘The aims of the present study were to reveal the prevalence of the TERT C228 T mutation in pediatric papillary thyroid carcinoma(PPTC) and to further investigate the role of the TERT C228 T mutation in PPTC. We also tested another TERT mutation, TERT C250 T, although this was not detected in PPTC patients. In this study, 48 patients with PPTC(41 with classic PPTC) were enrolled. DNA was extracted from PPTC tissues and TERT C228 T mutation analysis was performed. Chi-squared analysis,Fisher’s exact test, and a t-test were applied to test the significance of differences. The TERT C228 T mutation presented in 13(27.1%) of the 48 PPTC patients and 10(24.4%) of the 41 classical PPTC patients. There were significant differences between PPTC patients with the TERT C228 T mutation and those without in terms of modified radical neck dissection, multifocality,capsular invasion, extrathyroidal invasion, and American Joint Committee on Cancer(AJCC) tumor stage(P<0.05). 7Studies on abacavir-induced hypersensitivity reaction:a successful example of translation of pharmacogenetics to personalized medicine显示文摘Abacavir is an effective nucleoside analog reverse transcriptase inhibitor used to treat human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) infected patients.Its main side effect is hypersensitivity reaction(HSR).The incidence of the HSR is associated with ethnicity among patients exposed to abacavir,and retrospective and prospective studies show a significantly increased risk of abacavir-induced HSR in human leukocyte antigen(HLA)-B*57:01-carrying patients.Immunological studies indicated that abacavir interacts specifically with HLA-B*57:01 and changed the binding specificity between the HLA molecule and the HLA-presented endogenous peptide repertoire,leading to a systemic autoimmune reaction.HLA-B*57:01 screening,combined with patch testing,had clinically predictive value and cost-effective impact in reducing the incidence of abacavir-induced HSR regardless of the HLA-B*57:01 prevalence in the population.Therefore,the US Food and Drug Administration(FDA) and international HIV treatment guidelines recommend a routine HLA-B*57:01 screening prior to abacavir treatment to decrease false positive diagnosis and prevent abacavir-induced HSR.The studies of abacavir-induced HSR and the implementation of the HLA-B*57:01 screening in the clinic represent a successful example of the use of pharmacogenetics for personalized diagnosis and therapy.GUO YongLi SHI LeMing HONG HuiXiao SU ZhenQiang FUSCOE James NING BaiTang 2013Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,2:3
8Improved HHO algorithm based on good point set and nonlinear convergence formula显示文摘Harris hawks optimization(HHO)algorithm is an efficient method of solving function optimization problems.However,it is still confronted with some limitations in terms of low precision,low convergence speed and stagnation to local optimum.To this end,an improved HHO(IHHO)algorithm based on good point set and nonlinear convergence formula is proposed.First,a good point set is used to initialize the positions of the population uniformly and randomly in the whole search area.Second,a nonlinear exponential convergence formula is designed to balance exploration stage and exploitation stage of IHHO algorithm,aiming to find all the areas containing the solutions more comprehensively and accurately.The proposed IHHO algorithm tests 17 functions and uses Wilcoxon test to verify the effectiveness.The results indicate that IHHO algorithm not only has faster convergence speed than other comparative algorithms,but also improves the accuracy of solution effectively and enhances its robustness under low dimensional and high dimensional conditions.Guo Hairu Meng Xueyao Liu Yongli Liu Shen 2021The Journal of China Universities of Posts and Telecommunications2021,28,2:3
9Survey of spinal cord injury-induced neurogenic bladder studies using the Web of Science显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To identify global trends in research on spinal cord injury-induced neurogenic bladder, through a bibliometric analysis using the Web of Science. DATA RETRIEVAL:We performed a bibliometric analysis of studies on spinal cord injury-induced neurogenic bladder using the Web of Science.Data retrieval was performed using key words'spinal cord injury','spinal injury','neurogenic bladder','neuropathic bladder','neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction','neurogenic voiding dysfunction','neurogenic urination disorder'and 'neurogenic vesicourethral dysfunction'. SELECTION CRITERIA:Inclusion criteria:(a)published peer-reviewed articles on spinal cord injury-induced neurogenic bladder indexed in the Web of Science;(b)type of articles:original research articles and reviews;(c)year of publication:no limitation.Exclusion criteria:(a)articles that required manual searching or telephone access;(b)Corrected papers and book chapters. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:(1)Annual publication output;(2)distribution according to journals; (3)distribution according to subject areas;(4)distribution according to country;(5)distribution according to institution;and(6)top cited publications. RESULTS:There were 646 research articles addressing spinal cord injury-induced neurogenic bladder in the Web of Science.Research on spinal cord injury-induced neurogenic bladder was found in the Science Citation Index-Expanded as of 1946.The United States,Ireland and Switzerland were the three major countries contributing to studies in spinal cord injury-induced neurogenic bladder in the 1970s.However,in the 1990s,the United States,the United Kingdom,the Netherlands,Germany and Japan published more papers on spinal cord injury-induced neurogenic bladder than Switzerland,and Ireland fell off the top ten countries list.In this century,the United States ranks first in spinal cord injury-induced neurogenic bladder studies,followed by France,the United Kingdom,Germany,Switzerland and Japan.Subject categories including urology, nephrology and clinical neurology,as well as rehabilitation,are represented in spinal cord injury-induced neurogenic bladder studies. 10Insight into the role of binding interaction in the transformation of tetracycline and toxicity distribution显示文摘The transformation of free state organic micro-pollutants(MPs)has been widely studied;however,few studies have focused on mixed and bound states MPs,even though numerous ionizable organic MPs process a strong tendency to combine with dissolved organic matters in aquatic environments.This study systemically investigated the distribution and toxicity assessment of tetracycline(TET)transformation products in free,mixed and bound states during UV,UV/H2O2,UV/PS and CNTs/PS processes.A total of 33 major transformation products were identified by UPLC-Q-TOF-MSMS analysis,combining the double bond equivalence and aromaticity index calculations.The binding interaction would weaken the attack on the dimethylamino(-N(CH3)2)group and induce the direct destruction of rings A and B of TET through the analysis of 2D Kernel Density changes and density functional theory(DFT)calculations.Toxicity assessment and statistics revealed that the intermediate products with medium molecular weight(230m/z380)exhibited higher toxicity,which was closely related to the number of the rings in molecular structures(followed as 2»3>1z4).A predicted toxicity accumulation model(PTAM)was established to evaluate the overall toxicity changes during various oxidation processes.This finding provides new insight into the fate of bound MPs during various oxidation processes in the natural water matrix.Bo Yang Xin Cheng Yongli Zhang Wei Li Jingquan Wang Hongguang Guo 2021Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2021,,4:3

12Identification and characterization of the cellular subclones that contribute to the pathogenesis of mantle cell lymphoma显示文摘Mantle cell lymphoma(MCL)is a B-cell malignancy with poor clinical outcome and undefined pathogenesis.Development of clinically relevant cellular models for MCL research is an urgent need.Our preliminary observations lead the development of two novel hypotheses that we tested in this study:1.multicellular spheroid might be a unique growth mode of earlystage cells in MCL;2.MCL might be a polyclonal tumor.We made the following original observations that have not been reported:First,we have provided a new experiment method for enriching MCL early-stage cells and characterized the spheroid mode of growth as a unique feature of early-stage MCL cells in cell line as well as in clinical samples.Second,we have established a clinically relevant cellular model of MCL,the JeKo-1-spheroid cell line,that was highly enriched in early-stage sub-clones.JeKo-1-spheroid cells and the spheroid growing cells enriched from MCL patients exhibited comparably enhanced tumorigenic abilities and similar biological features.Third,Immunophenotypic analysis has revealed that MCL may be derived from precursor-B(pre-B),immature-B and mature-B cells,not only the mature-B cells as WHO classified in 2016.Fourth,MCL may be a polyclonal disease composed of CD19e/IgMe,CD19 e/IgMt,CD19t/IgMt three sub-clones,of which the CD19e/IgMt sub-clone might be the dominant sub-clone with the strongest tumorigenic ability.Fifth,CD19t/IgMe that differentiates MCL and normal B cells may represent a new marker for MCL early detection,minor residual disease monitoring after therapies and prognosis.Junling Tang Li Zhang Tiejun Zhou Zhiwei Sun Liangsheng Kong Li Jing Hongyun Xing Hongyan Wu Yongli Liu Shixia Zhou Jingyuan Li Mei Chen Fang Xu Jirui Tang Tao Ma Min Hu Dan Liu Jing Guo Xiaofeng Zhu Yan Chen Ting Ye Jianyu Wang Xiaoming Li H.Rosie Xing 2019Genes & Diseases2019,6,4:2

15The effect of collagen hydrogels on chondrocyte behaviors through restricting the contraction of cell/hydrogel constructs显示文摘Collagen is a promising material for tissue engineering,but the poor mechanical properties of collagen hydrogels,which tend to cause contraction under the action of cellular activity,make its application challengeable.In this study,the amino group of type I collagen(Col I)was modified with methacrylic anhydride(MA)and the photo-crosslinkable methacrylate anhydride modified type I collagen(CM)with three different degrees of substitution(DS)was prepared.The physical properties of CM and Col I hydrogels were tested,including micromorphology,mechanical properties and degradation properties.The results showed that the storage modulus and degradation rate of hydrogels could be adjusted by changing the DS of CM.In vitro,chondrocytes were seeded into these four groups of hydrogels and subjected to fluorescein diacetate/propidium iodide(FDA/PI)staining,cell counting kit-8(CCK-8)test,histological staining and cartilage-related gene expression analysis.In vivo,these hydrogels encapsulating chondrocytes were implanted subcutaneously into nude mice,then histological staining and sulfated glycosaminoglycan(sGAG)/DNA assays were performed.The results demonstrated that contraction of hydrogels affected behaviors of chondrocytes,and CM hydrogels with suitable DS could resist contraction of hydrogels and promote the secretion of cartilage-specific matrix in vitro and in vivo.Longpeng Dong Qingli Liu Yongli Gao Hengxing Jia Wenling Dai Likun Guo Hongsong Fan Yujiang Fan Xingdong Zhang 2021Regenerative Biomaterials2021,8,4:2

20Synthesis of photo-reactive poly(vinyl alcohol)and construction of scaffold-free cartilage like pellets in vitro显示文摘Photo-reactive poly(vinyl alcohol)(PRPVA)was synthesized by introduction of phenyl azido groups into poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA)and applied for surface modification.PRPVA was grafted onto cell culture plate surface homogeneously or in a micropattern.Human mesenchymal stem cells(hMSCs)cultured on cell culture plate surface and PVA-modified surface showed different behaviors.Cells adhered and spread well on cell culture plate surface,while they did not adhere on PVA-grafted surface at all.When hMSCs were cultured on PVA-micropatterned surface,they formed a cell micropattern.Cells formed pellets after cultured on PVA homogeneously modified surface in chondrogenic induction medium for 2 weeks.The pellets were positively stained by hematoxylin/eosin,safranin-O/fast green and toluidin blue,and they were also stained brown by Type II collagen and proteoglycan immunohistological staining.Real-time PCR analysis was conducted to investigate the expression of colI,colII,colX,aggrecan and sox9 mRNA.Results of gene expression were in agreement with those of histological and immunohistological observations.These results indicated that hMSCs cultured on PVA-modified surface performed chondrogenic differentiation,and it was possible to construct scaffold-free cartilage like pellets with PVA-modified surface in vitro.Bao Li Yongli Gao Likun Guo Yujiang Fan Naoki Kawazoe Hongsong Fan Xingdong Zhang Guoping Chen 2018Regenerative Biomaterials2018,5,3:1
