| 2 | Combination of olfactory test and substantia nigra transcranial sonopraphy in the differential diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease:a pilot study from China显示文摘Objectives:Both hyposmia and substania nigra(SN)hyperechogenicity on trascranial sonography(TCS)were risk markers for idiopathic Parkinson’s disease(PD),which was beneficial to the differential diagnosis of the disease.However,each of their single diagnostic value is often limited.The purpose of present study was to explore whether the combination of olfactory test and TCS of SN could enhance the differential diagnostic power in Chinese patients with PD.Methods:Thirty-seven patients with PD and twenty-six patients with essential tremor(ET)were evaluated on 16-item odor identification test from extended version of sniffin’sticks and TCS of SN.The frequency of hyposmia and SN hyperechogenicity in each group was compared.The sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value(PPV)and negative predictive value(NPV)of the two clinical biomarkers were analyzed.Results:The frequency of hyposmia in patients with PD was significantly higher than in patients with ET(62.2%VS.3.8%,P=0.000).The frequency of SN hyperechogenicity in patients with PD was significantly higher than in ET subjects(48.6%VS.15.4%,P=0.006).The combination of hyposmia and SN hyperechogenicity(if either one or both present)discriminated patients with PD from ET with a sensitivity of 78.4%and 29.7%,specificity of 80.8%and 100%,PPV of 85.3%and 100%,and NPV of 72.4%and 50.0%,respectively.Conclusions:Our preliminary data suggested that the combination of hyposmia and SN hyperechogenicity could improve the diagnostic potential for discriminating Chinese patients with PD from ET. | Wei Chen Yu-Yan Tan Yun-Yun Hu Wei-Wei Zhan Li Wu Yue Lou Xi Wang Yi Zhou Pei Huang Yuan Gao Qin Xiao Sheng-Di Chen | 2012 | Translational Neurodegeneration2012,1,1: | 6 |

| 8 | Intestinal dysbiosis exacerbates the pathogenesis of psoriasis-like phenotype through changes in fatty acid metabolism显示文摘The intestinal microbiota has been associated with host immunity as well as psoriasis;however,the mechanism of intestinal microbiota regulating psoriasis needs to be demonstrated systematically.Here,we sought to examine its role and mechanism of action in the pathogenesis of psoriasis.We found that the severity of psoriasis-like skin phenotype was accompanied by changes in the composition of the intestinal microbiota.We performed co-housing and fecal microbial transplantation(FMT)experiments using the K14-VEGF transgenic mouse model of psoriasis and demonstrated that the transfer of intestinal microbiota from mice with severe psoriasis-like skin phenotype exacerbated psoriasiform skin inflammation in mice with mild symptoms,including increasing the infiltration and differentiation of Th17,and increased the abundance of Prevotella,while decreasing that of Parabacteroides distasonis,in the colon.These alterations affected fatty acid metabolism,increasing the abundance of oleic and stearic acids.Meanwhile,gentamicin treatment significantly reduced the abundance of Prevotella and alleviated the psoriasis-like symptoms in both K14-VEGF mice and imiquimod(IMQ)-induced psoriasis-like mice.Indeed,administration of oleic and stearic acids exacerbated psoriasis-like symptoms and increased Th17 and monocyte-derived dendritic cell infiltration in the skin lesion areas in vivo,as well as increased the secretion of IL-23 by stimulating DCs in vitro.At last,we found that,treatment of PDE-4 inhibitor alleviated psoriasis-like phenotype of K14-VEGF mice accompanied by the recovery of intestinal microbiota,including the decrease of Prevotella and increase of Parabacteroides distasonis.Overall,our findings reveal that the intestinal microbiota modulates host metabolism and psoriasis-like skin inflammation in mice,suggesting a new target for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis. | Qixiang Zhao Jiadong Yu Hong Zhou Xiaoyan Wang Chen Zhang Jing Hu Yawen Hu Huaping Zheng Fanlian Zeng Chengcheng Yue Linna Gu Zhen Wang Fulei Zhao Pei Zhou Haozhou Zhang Nongyu Huang Wenling Wu Yifan Zhou Jiong Li | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,2: | 2 |

| 13 | Comparisons of the Paleo-Mesoproterozoic large igneous provinces and black shales in the North China and North Australian cratons显示文摘Comparisons of large igneous provinces(UPs)and black shales from different cratons can provide important constraints on Precambrian paleogeographic reconstructions and a better understanding of the environmental effects of large-scale volcanic events.A comparison of intraplate mafic events mostly interpreted as LIPs or portions of LIPs(LIP fragments/remnants due to continental breakup or erosion)from the North China Craton(NCC)and North Australian Craton(NAC)shows good correlation in the age range from 1800 Ma to 1300 Ma,and four robust age matches at ca.1790-1770 Ma,ca.1730 Ma,ca.1680-1670 Ma and ca.1320 Ma have been identified.Most notably,the coeval ca.1320 Ma Yanliao LIP in the eastern-northern NCC and the Derim Derim-Galiwinku LIP in the NAC are also characterized by similar field occurences and dominantly subalkaline tholeiitic basalts and intraplate geochemical compositions,and are interpreted as portions of the same LIP,separated by continental breakup.Subsequent to 1300 Ma,the NCC and NAC exhibit very different magmatic histories,indicating that separation of these two cratons occurred,likely subsequent to the ca.1320 Ma LIP event.A comparison of Paleo-Mesoproterozoic black shales from the NCC and NAC provides further evidence for close connections between these regions during this period.Black shales of the Chuanlianggou Formation in the northern NCC and the Cuizhuang Formation in the southern NCC were deposited in the age range ca.1650-1635 Ma and can be correlated with ca.1640-1635 Ma black shales in the Barney Creek Formation of the NAC.Deposition of black shales within the Xiamaling Formation in the NCC and the Velkerri and Kyalla formations of the McArthur Basin in the NAC occurred synchronously at ca.1380-1360 Ma.Our results from matching of LIP ages and black shales combined with paleomagnetic data show that the northern-northeastern margin of the NCC was connected to the northern margin of the NAC from ca.1800 Ma to 1300 Ma.This long-lived late Paleoproterozoic to mid-Mesoproterozoic connection lasted for at least 500 million years until separation of the NCC from the NAC between ca.1320 and ca.1230-1220 Ma. | Shuan-Hong Zhang Richard E.Ernst Tim J.Munson Junling Pei Guohui Hu Jian-Min Liu Qi-Qi Zhang Yu-Hang Cai Yue Zhao | 2022 | Fundamental Research2022,2,1: | 1 |
