In this paper, we review the usage of HVPE for the growth and device applications of Ga_2O_3, with detailed discussions on a variety of technological aspects of HVPE. | 4 | Cross-polymerization between the model furans and phenolics in bio-oil with acid or alkaline catalysts显示文摘Polymerization is a major challenge for the upgrading of bio-oil to biofuels,but is preferable for the production of carbon material from biooil.Understanding the mechanism for polymerization is of importance for tailoring property of carbon material.This study investigated the characteristics for the polymerisation of furfural,vanillin,their cross-polymerization and the impacts of catalysts on their polymerization.The results indicated that the organic acids like acetic acid and formic acid could catalyze the polymerisation of furfural,while H_(2)SO_(4)or NaOH as catalyst could drastically enhance the degree of polymerization of furfural.Vanillin showed a higher tendency towards polymerization than furfural and H_(2)SO_(4)or NaOH significantly facilitated the polymerization of vanillin via shifting the pasty product to solid polymer.The crosspolymerization between furfural and vanillin occurred even in the absence of catalyst,while the presence of H_(2)SO_(4)or NaOH catalyst resulted in the formation of more solid polymer via cross-polymerization.The polymerisation reactions were accompanied with the consumption of–C¼O via aldol addition/condensation reactions.In addition,the morphology and thermal stability of the polymers formed were affected by both the type of the catalysts employed,which can in turn enhance the cross-polymerization between furfural and vanillin. | Qing Xu Xun Hu Lijun Zhang Kai Sun Yuewen Shao Zhiran Gao Qing Liu Chun-Zhu Li | 2021 | Green Energy & Environment2021,6,1: | 2 |

| 9 | Reconstructing avascular necrotic femoral head through a bioactiveβ-TCP system:From design to application显示文摘A variety of techniques have been used for treating avascular necrosis of the femoral head(ANFH),but have frequently failed.In this study,we proposed aβ-TCP system for the treatment of ANFH by boosting revascularization and bone regeneration.The angio-conductive properties and concurrent osteogenesis of the highly interconnected porousβ-TCP scaffold were revealed and quantified through an in vivo model that simulated the ischemic environment of ANFH.Mechanical test and finite element analysis showed that the mechanical loss caused by tissue necrosis and surgery was immediately partially compensated after implantation,and the strength of the operated femoral head was adaptively increased and eventually returned to normal bone,along with continuous material degradation and bone regeneration.For translational application,we further conducted a multi-center open-label clinical trial to assess the efficacy of theβ-TCP system in treating ANFH.Two hundred fourteen patients with 246 hips were enrolled for evaluation,and 82.1%of the operated hips survived at a 42.79-month median follow-up.The imaging results,hip function,and pain scores were dramatically improved compared to preoperative levels.ARCO stage II disease outperformed stage III in terms of clinical effectiveness.Thus,bio-adaptive reconstruction using theβ-TCP system is a promising hip-preserving strategy for the treatment of ANFH. | Yajie Lu Xiantao Chen Xiao Lu Changning Sun Minghui Li Guojing Chen Zuoyao Long Yuan Gao Haoqiang Zhang Mengquan Huang Chuanlei Ji Hongbin Fan Dong Liu Yuewen Hao Hong Wang Leilei Zhang Hongmei Zhang Jianxi Lu Zhen Wang Jing Li | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,10: | 1 |

| 13 | Prediction of freestanding semiconducting bilayer borophenes显示文摘Supported bilayerα-borophene(BL-αborophene)on Ag(111)substrate has been synthesized in recent experiments.Based on the experimentally observed quasi-planar C_(6v)B_(36)(1),its monolayer assemblyα^(+)-borophene B_(11)(P6/mmm)(2),and extensive global minimum searches augmented with density functional theory calculations,we predict herein freestanding BL-α^(+)borophenes B_(22)(Cmmm)(3)and B_(22)(C2/m)(4)which,as the most stable BL borophenes reported to date,are composed of interwoven boron triple chains as boron analogs of monolayer graphene(5)consisting of interwoven carbon single chains.The nearly degenerate eclipsed B_(22)(3)and staggered B_(22)(4)with the hexagonal hole density ofη=1/12 and interlayer bonding density of u=1/4 appear to be two-dimensional semiconductors with the indirect band gaps of 0.952 and 1.144 eV,respectively.Detailed bonding analyses reveal one delocalized 12c-2eπbond over each hexagonal hole in both the B_(22)(3)and B_(22)(4),similar to the situation in monolayer graphene which contains one delocalized 6c-2eπbond over each C_(6)hexagon.Furthermore,these BL-α^(+)borophenes appear to remain highly stable on Ag(111)substrate,presenting the possibility to form supported BL-α+borophenes. | Yuan-Yuan Ma Xiao-Yun Zhao Wenyan Zan Yuewen Mu Zhuhua Zhang Si-Dian Li | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,6: | 0 |

| 17 | Competition between acidic sites and hydrogenation sites in Cu/ZrO_(2) catalysts with different crystal phases for conversion of biomass-derived organics显示文摘Oxides with different crystal phases can have important effects on the configuration of surface atoms,which can further affect the distribution of hydrogenation sites and acidic sites as well as the competitions of these varied types of catalytic sites.This could be potentially used to tailor the distribution of the products.In this study,zirconium oxides with different crystal phases supported copper catalysts were prepared for the hydrogenation of the biomass-derived furfural,vanillin,etc.The results showed that both calcination temperature and Cu species affected the shift of zirconia from tetragonal phase to the monoclinic phase.Monoclinic zirconia supported copper catalyst can effectively catalyze the hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol via hydrogenation route due to its low amount of Brønsted acidic sites,although the surface area and the exposed metallic Cu surface area were much lower than the tetragonal zirconia supported copper catalyst.Zirconia with tetragonal or tetragonal/monoclinic phases supported copper catalysts contain abundant acidic sites and especially the Br?nsted acidic sites,which catalyzed mainly the conversion of furfural via the acid-catalyzed routes such as the acetalization,rather than the hydrogenation.The acidic sites over the Cu/ZrO_(2)catalyst played more predominant roles than the hydrogenation sites in determining the conversion of the organics like furfural and vanillin. | Yuewen Shao Tingting Wang Kai Sun Zhanming Zhang Lijun Zhang Qingyin Li Shu Zhang Guangzhi Hu Xun Hu | 2021 | Green Energy & Environment2021,6,4: | 0 |

| 19 | Regeneration patterns and drivers of different underutilized lands in the rust belt city of developing country:An empirical case study for Northeast China显示文摘Rust belt cities are largely threatened by a waste of urban space at their core;however,in developing countries where land resources are widely used as instruments for macroeconomic stabilization,urban periphery is also at risk of being underutilized due to land hoarding.Such geographic differences entail new knowledge about how,where,and why underutilized lands are regenerated in the city.Furthermore,rapid urban growth imposes development disparity and mixed underutilization issues on cities in developing countries;therefore,how the geo-information obtained by the regeneration of different underutilized lands differs will be valuable for urban planners and policymakers to make prudent trade-offs.To fill these gaps,we conducted a sequential investigation into the regeneration of underutilized lands in a representative rust belt city – Changchun City in Northeast China,in an attempt to measure the regeneration pattern and analyze the underlying determinants using the Classification and Regression Trees analysis.The results indicated that,of all underutilized lands,increments of vacant lot and remnant cultivated land continued to plague the expanding urban periphery during 2016–2019.In a way,reduced underutilized lands alleviated land use conflicts at the city core.Nearly 23% of the underutilized areas had been regenerated,dominated by realty development,with most converted to residential lands,ecological lands and industrial lands.On the contrary,conversion to transportation lands and parking lots seemed to avoid the rapidly expanding sites.The regeneration rates in a certain area can be increased by a multitude of factors,including denser,simply structured land underutilization,abundant ecosystem services nearby and accessibility to public infrastructures.Site conditions such as residential density and accessibility may have fueled the regeneration associated with residential purposes,while regeneration of industrial development was closely associated with the underutilization density and parcel regularity.This research provides an empirical paradigm for delivering regeneration geo-information across different underutilized lands,particularly for rust belt cities that are caught between a shrinking core and speculative periphery. | LI Wenbo LI Han YAN Zhuoran HU Bingqing ZHU Yuanli YANG Yuewen WANG Dongyan | 2023 | Journal of Geographical Sciences2023,33,7: | 0 |
