| 2 | Effectiveness of flesh-moistening paste in psoriasis vulgaris patients with symptom pattern of blood stasis:a randomized and parallel-controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of flesh-moistening paste for treating psoriasis vulgaris in patients with blood stasis pattern in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).METHODS:Eudipleural rashes on both the left and right side of the same patients with psoriasis vulgaris,diagnosed via TCM as blood stasis pattern,were selected as the targeted skin lesions.A randomized,double-blind,parallel-controlled,multicenter controlled trial was conducted.The targeted skin lesions were categorized into either the treatment or control group.The treatment group used the flesh-moistening paste;the control group used a placebo.Both the paste and the placebo were topically applied twice daily for eight weeks.The patients were examined biweekly to evaluate the effects.The two groups were compared in terms of the psoriasis area and severity index(PASI)of the targeted skin lesions,which is scored according to erythema,desquamation,infiltration,area,pruritus,and improvement of skin barrier function.Adverse events were recorded during the study period.SPSS 21.0 was used to analyze the data.RESULTS:Fifty-six patients were enrolled between February 2016 and October 2017.Two were complicated by cardio-cerebrovascular disease and were excluded;thus,54 outpatients were finally enrolled in the study.Four dropped out during the study period:three failed to complete their follow-up visits for unknown reasons,and one exited due to an adverse event.The final trial comprised 50 of the 56 originally selected patients,with a 92.6%completion rate.After 8 weeks of treatment,the targeted skin lesion scores differed significantly(P<0.05).The PASI scores of the targeted skin lesions differed significantly beginning at week 6(P<0.05).The treatment group presented better results than those of the control group.Only one patient had an adverse reaction associated with the treatment.Improvements in skin barrier function differed significantly(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:The flesh-moistening paste demonstrated a reliable curative effect and safety for treating psoriasis vulgaris in patients with blood stasis patterns.The topical paste improved the barrier function of the skin lesions. | Guo Xinwei Lang Na Li Guanru Li Ping Qu Jianhua Zhou Dongmei Wang Ping Cang Zhang Deng BingXu Lou Weihai Xu Jingna Lan Haibing Liu Yumin Zhang Weishu Sun Liyun | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,6: | 4 |

| 5 | A novel integrated non-targeted metabolomic analysis reveals significant metabolite variations between different lettuce (Lactuca sativa. L) varieties显示文摘Lettuce is an important leafy vegetable that represents a significant dietary source of antioxidants and bioactive compounds.However,the levels of metabolites in different lettuce cultivars are poorly characterized.In this study,we used combined GC×GC-TOF/MS and UPLC-IMS-QTOF/MS to detect and relatively quantify metabolites in 30 lettuce cultivars representing large genetic diversity.Comparison with online databases,the published literature,standards as well using collision cross-section values enabled putative identification of 171 metabolites.Sixteen of these 171 metabolites(including phenolic acid derivatives,glycosylated flavonoids,and one iridoid)were present at significantly different levels in leaf and head type lettuces,which suggested the significant metabolomic variations between the leaf and head types of lettuce are related to secondary metabolism.A combination of the results and metabolic network analysis techniques suggested that leaf and head type lettuces contain not only different levels of metabolites but also have significant variations in the corresponding associated metabolic networks.The novel lettuce metabolite library and novel non-targeted metabolomics strategy devised in this study could be used to further characterize metabolic variations between lettuce cultivars or other plants.Moreover,the findings of this study provide important insight into metabolic adaptations due to natural and human selection,which could stimulate further research to potentially improve lettuce quality,yield,and nutritional value. | Xiao Yang Shiwei Wei Bin Liu Doudou Guo Bangxiao Zheng Lei Feng Yumin Liu Francisco A.Tomás-Barberán Lijun Luo Danfeng Huang | 2018 | Horticulture Research2018,5,1: | 3 |
| 6 | Data mining-based study on sub-mentally healthy state among residents in eight provinces and cities in China显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To apply data mining methods to research on the state of sub-mental health among residents in eight provinces and cities in China and to mine latent knowledge about many conditions through data mining and analysis of data on 3970 sub-mentally healthy individuals selected from 13385 relevant question naires.METHODS: The strategic tree algorithm was used to identify the main mani festations of the state of sub-mental health. The backpropogation artificial neural network was used to analyze the main mani festations of sub-healthy mental states of three different degrees. A sub-mental health evaluation model was then established to achieve predictive evaluationresults.RESULTS: Using classifications from the Scale of Chinese Sub-healthy State, the main manifestations of sub-mental health selected using the strate gictree were F1101(Do you lack peace of mind?),F1102(Are you easily nervous when something comes up?), and F1002(Do you often sigh?). The relative intensity of manifestations of sub-mental health was highest for F1101, followed by F1102,and then F1002. Through study of the neural network, better differentiation could be made between moderate and severe and between mild and severe states of sub-mental health. The differentiation between mild and moderate sub-mental health states was less apparent. Additionally, the sub-mental health state evaluation model, which could be used to predict states of sub-mental health of different individuals, was established using F1101, F1102, F1002, and the mental self-assessment totals core.CONCLUSION: The main manifestations of the state of sub-mental health can be discovered using data mining methods to research and analyze the latent laws and knowledge hidden in research evidence on the state of sub-mental health. The state of sub-mental health of different individuals can be rapidly predicted using the model established here.This can provide a basis for assessment and intervention for sub-mental health. | 7 | Annual spatio-temporal migration patterns of Hooded Cranes wintering in Izumi based on satellite tracking and their implications for conservation显示文摘Background: The Hooded Crane(Grus monacha) is listed as a vulnerable species by IUCN. Knowledge about the migration of the Hooded Crane is still limited. Here we reported the spatio-temporal migration patterns of Hooded Cranes wintering in Izumi, Japan, as well as important stopover areas for their conservation.Methods: Four adult and five subadult cranes, all wintering in Izumi, Japan, were fitted with satellite transmitters(GPS–GSM system) at their stopover sites in northeastern China in 2014 and 2015. We analyzed the time and duration of adults and subadults in spring and autumn migration, as well as the time and duration they stayed in breeding and wintering ground. In addition, we analyzed the land use of the cranes in stopover areas.Results: Adult cranes took much longer time to migrate both north in spring(mean days) compared with subadult cranes(15.3 and 5.2 days, respectively). H= 44.3 days) and south in fall(mean = 54.0 owever, the subadults had longer wintering(mean = 149.8 days) and nomadic(breeding season for adults) seasons(mean d with adults(133.8 and 122.3 days, respectively). | 9 | Obtaining the best possible predictions of habitat selection for wintering Great Bustards in Cangzhou, Hebei Province with rapid machine learning analysis显示文摘Great Bustards(Otis tarda dybowskii)are one of the world’s heaviest flying birds,occupying grassland habitats in Eastern Asia.Our study is located at the most eastern Chinese wintering site in Cangzhou,Hebei Province,where approximately 100 individuals are concentrated in a small area(17.53 km2).Solid information is still lacking about the wintering areas for this subspecies in its eastern range and specifically for China.The study area consists of intensely used farmland in proximity to humans and is lacking conservation areas and wild,open fields.Here,we present our results from two years of field data collection on habitat selection.We choose a machine learning model approach based on a rapid assessment methodology for the winter habitat of the Great Bustard.It is based on a spatial analysis of the best available environmental data,which were collected relatively quickly.These relatively new methods in ecology are based on an ensemble of decision trees and include algorithms such as TreeNet,Random Forest and CART used in parallel.In this study,we collected bustard droppings(presence only)from 48 locations between December 2011 and January 2012 and used the sites as training data.Droppings from 23 locations were collected in November 2012,and those sites were used as test data.We used eight environmental variables as predictor layers for the response variable of bustard presence/availability.We employed a Geographic Information System(ArcGIS 10.1and Geospatial Modelling Environment)and Google Earth.Compared with the other three models,we found that predictions from Random Forest obtained a significant difference between presence and absence.According to this model,the three most important factors for wintering Great Bustards are distance to residential area,distance to water pools,and farmland area.Our model shows that wintering Great Bustards prefer locations that are over 400 m away from residential areas,within 900 m of water pools and on areas of farmland smaller than 0.5 km2.We think we can apply our analysis to Great Bustard management in our study area and the adjacent region and that this work sets a baseline for future research. | Chunrong Mi Falk Huettmann Yumin Guo | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,32: | 2 |

| 11 | Evolution of microstructures and optical properties of gadolinium oxide with oxygen flow rate and annealing temperature显示文摘In this study, the effects of oxygen flow rate and annealing temperature on Gd_2 O_3 structures and optical properties were systematically analyzed. Gd_2 O_3 films were deposited on both quartz and ZnS substrates by magnetron sputtering and then annealed under vacuum at 700, 800 and 900℃, Restructure and phase transformation from cubic to monoclinic occur at different temperatures depending on the oxygen flow rate. The optical band gap, which is more sensitive to the annealing temperature than oxygen flow rate changes from 5.32 to 5.65 eV. The refractive index is approximately 1.75 at 550 nm and is adjustable by the oxygen flow rate. The transmittance of the ZnS substrate with Gd_2 O_3 film exceeds 80% and reaches82% at the 7.5-9.5 μm range. When ZnS is coated on both sides, the transmittance is increased to approximately 90%. | 16 | Study on Unsteady Hydrodynamic Performance of Propeller in Waves显示文摘The speed of a ship sailing in waves always slows down due to the decrease in efficiency of the propeller. So it is necessary and essential to analyze the unsteady hydrodynamic performance of propeller in waves. This paper is based on the numerical simulation and experimental research of hydrodynamics performance when the propeller is under wave conditions. Open-water propeller performance in calm water is calculated by commercial codes and the results are compared to experimental values to evaluate the accuracy of the numerical simulation method. The first-order Volume of Fluid(VOF) wave method in STAR CCM+ is utilized to simulate the three-dimensional numerical wave. According to the above prerequisite, the numerical calculation of hydrodynamic performance of the propeller under wave conditions is conducted, and the results reveal that both thrust and torque of the propeller under wave conditions reveal intense unsteady behavior. With the periodic variation of waves, ventilation, and even an effluent phenomenon appears on the propeller. | 17 | A multi-objective antidisturbance robust filter for SINS/GPS navigation systems显示文摘Purpose-A full-order multi-objective anti-disturbance robust filter for SINS/GPS navigation systems with multiple disturbances is designed.Generally,the unmodeled dynamics,the external environmental disturbance and the inertial apparatus random drift may exist simultaneously in an integrated navigation system,which can be classified into three type of disturbances,that is,the Gaussian noise,the norm bounded noise and the time correlated noise.In most classical studies,the disturbances in integrated navigation systems are classified as Gaussian noises or norm bounded noises,where the Kalman filtering or robust filtering can be employed,respectively.While it is not true actually,such assumptions may lead to conservative results.The paper aims to discuss these issues.Design/methodology/approach-The Gaussian noises,the norm bounded noises and the time correlated noises in the integrated navigation system are considered simultaneously in this contribution.As a result,the time correlated noises are augmented as a part of system state of the integrated navigation system error model,the relative integrated navigation problem can be transformed into a full-order multi-objective robust filter design problem for systems with Gaussian noises and norm bounded disturbances.Certainly,the errors of the time correlated noises are estimated and compensated for high precision navigation purpose.Sufficient conditions for the existence of the proposed filter are presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs)such that the system stability is guaranteed and the disturbance attenuation performance is achieved.Findings-Simulations for SINS/GPS integrated navigation system given show that the proposed full-order multi-objective anti-disturbance filter,has stronger robustness and better precision when multiple disturbances exist,that is,the present algorithm not only can suppression the effect of white noises and norm bounded disturbance but also can estimate and compensate the modeled disturbance.Originality/value-The proposed algorithm has stronger anti-disturbance ability for integrated navigation with multiple disturbances.In fact,there exist multiple disturbances in integrated navigation system,so the proposed scheme has important significance in applications. | Jia Liu Yumin Zhang Lei Guo Xiaoying Gao | 2013 | International Journal of Intelligent Computing and Cybernetics2013,6,3: | 1 |
| 18 | Bats as the main prey of wintering long-eared owl(Asio otus)in Beijing:Integrating biodiversity protection and urban management显示文摘The loss of biodiversity from urbanized areas is a major environmental problem challenging policy-makers throughout the world.Solutions to this problem are urgently required in China.We carried out a case study of wintering long-eared owls(Asio otus)and their main prey to illustrate the negative effects of urbanization combined with ineffective conservation of biodiversity in Beijing.Field monitoring of owl numbers at two roosting sites from 2004 to 2012 showed that the owl population had fallen rapidly in metropolitan Beijing.Analysis of pellet contents identified only seven individuals of two species of shrew.The majority of mammalian prey comprised four bat and seven rodent species,making up 29.3%and 29.5%of the prey items,respectively.Prey composition varied significantly among years at the two sample sites.At the urban site the consumption of bats and rodents declined gradually over time,while predation on birds increased.In contrast,at the suburban site the prey composition showed an overall decrease in the number of bats,a sharp increase and a subsequent decrease in bird prey,and the number of rodent prey fell to a low point.Rapid development of real estate and inadequate greenfield management in city parks resulted in negative effects on the bird and small mammal habitat of urban areas in Beijing.We suggest that measures to conserve biodiversity should be integrated into future urban planning to maintain China’s rich biodiversity while also achieving sustainable economic development. | Long TIAN Xuwei ZHOU Yang SHI Yumin GUO Weidong BAO | 2015 | Integrative Zoology2015,10,2: | 1 |

| 20 | Time and energy minimization strategy codetermine the loop migration of demoiselle cranes around the Himalayas显示文摘Tens of thousands of demoiselle cranes’crossing the Himalayas to the Indian subcontinent have been reported for decades,but their exact spring migration route remained a mystery until our previous study found they made a detour in spring along the western edge of the Himalayas and crossed the Mongolian Plateau to their breeding areas based on satellite telemetry of 3 birds.To corroborate the loop migration pattern and explore whether demoiselle crane’s loop migration route is shaped by time-and energy-minimization strategies in spring and autumn and how the temporal and spatial variation of environmental conditions contribute to crane’s selection of migration routes,we tracked 11 satellite-tagged demoiselle cranes from their breeding area in China and Russia,simulated 2 pseudo migration routes,and then compared the environmental conditions,time,and energy cost between true and pseudo routes in the same season.Results show that demoiselles’spring migration obeyed time-minimization hypothesis,avoiding the colder Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,benefited by abundant food and higher thermal and orographic uplift along the route;autumn migration follows energy-minimization hypothesis with the shorter route.Our research will contribute to uncover the mechanical reasons why demoiselle crane avoids crossing the giant barrier of the Himalayas in spring,and shapes a loop migration route. | Chunrong MI Xinhai LI Falk HUETTMANN Oleg GOROSHKO Yumin GUO | 2022 | Integrative Zoology2022,17,5: | 0 |
