1Synthesis of different-sized gold nanostars for Raman bioimaging and photothermal therapy in cancer nanotheranostics显示文摘Gold nanoparticles(AuNPs) have been attractive for nanomedicine because of their pronounced optical properties.Here,we customerized the methods to synthesize two types of gold nanostars,Au nanostars-1 and Au nanostars-2,which have different spire lengths and optical properties,and also spherical AuNPs.Compared to nanospheres,gold nanostars were less toxic to a variety of cells,including macrophages.Au nanostars-1 and Au nanostars-2 also manifested a similar pattern of tissue distribution upon in vivo administration in mice to that of nanospheres,and but reveled less liver retention than nanospheres.Due to their strong absorption in the near-infrared(NIR),Au nanostars-2 induced a strong hyperthermia effect in vitro upon excitation at 808 nm,and elicited a robust photothermal therapy(PTT) efficacy in ablating tumors in a mouse model of orthotopic breast cancer using 4T1 breast cancer cells.Meanwhile,Au nanostars-1 showed a great capability to enhance the Raman signal through surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS) in 4T1 cells.Our combined results opened a new avenue to develop Au nanostars for cancer imaging and therapy.Jie Gao Maria Sanchez-Purra Hao Huang ShunhaoWang Yunan Chen Xuefeng Yu Qian Luo Kimberly Hamad-Schifferli Sijin Liu 2017Science China Chemistry2017,60,9:2

5Variable stiffness tuned particle dampers for vibration control of cantilever boring bars显示文摘This research proposes a novel type of variable stiffness tuned particle damper(TPD)for reducing vibrations in boring bars.The TPD integrates the developments of particle damping and dynamical vibration absorber,whose frequency tuning principle is established through an equivalent theoretical model.Based on the multiphase flow theory of gas-solid,it is effective to obtain the equivalent damping and stiffness of the particle damping.The dynamic equations of the coupled system,consisting of a boring bar with the TPD,are built by Hamilton’s principle.The vibration suppression of the TPD is assessed by calculating the amplitude responses of the boring bar both with and without the TPD by the Newmark-beta algorithm.Moreover,an improvement is proposed to the existing gas-solid flow theory,and a comparative analysis of introducing the stiffness term on the damping effect is presented.The parameters of the TPD are optimized by the genetic algorithm,and the results indicate that the optimized TPD effectively reduces the peak response of the boring bar system.Xiangying GUO Yunan ZHU Zhong LUO Dongxing CAO Jihou YANG 2023Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2023,44,12:0
