1Base editing-mediated splicing correction therapy for spinal muscular atrophy显示文摘Dear Editor,Spinal muscular atrophy(SMA)is a devastating autosomal recessive motor neuron disease.1,2 Infants with more severe forms of type I SMA die before the age of 2 if no intervention is provided.1,2 Spinraza and zolgensma have been approved by the FDA as SMA therapeutics for pediatric patients.1,2 However,as an antisense oligonucleotide(ASO)based therapy,spinraza requires four loading doses,followed by three annual maintenance doses.The patients would be subjected to repeated intrathecal injections in the procedure.Zolgensma is a single-dose gene-replacement therapy for SMA,but unfortunately is unreliable in maintaining a high,stable level of gene expression.These issues have limited the therapeutic effects of the two approved drugs for SMA.Xiang Lin Haizhu Chen Ying-Qian Lu Shunyan Hong Xinde Hu Yanxia Gao Lu-Lu Lai Jin-Jing Li Zishuai Wang Wenqin Ying Lixiang Ma Ning Wang Erwei Zuo Hui Yang Wan-Jin Chen 2020Cell Research2020,30,6:5

4Frequency upconversion detection of rotational Doppler effect显示文摘We demonstrated an efficient scheme of measuring the angular velocity of a rotating object with the detection light working at the infrared regime.Our method benefits from the combination of second-harmonic generation(SHG)and rotational Doppler effect,i.e.,frequency upconversion detection of rotational Doppler effect.In our experiment,we use one infrared light as the fundamental wave(FW)to probe the rotating objects while preparing the other FW to carry the desired superpositions of orbital angular momentum.Then these two FWs are mixed collinearly in a potassium titanyl phosphate crystal via typeⅡphase matching,which produces the visible secondharmonic light wave.The experimental results show that both the angular velocity and geometric symmetry of rotating objects can be identified from the detected frequency-shift signals at the photon-count level.Our scheme will find potential applications in infrared monitoring.HAOXU GUO XIAODONG QIU SONG QIU LING HONG FEI LIN YUAN REN LIXIANG CHEN 2022Photonics Research2022,10,1:1

8Oxygen vacancies with localized electrons direct a functionalized separator toward dendrite-free and high loading LiFePO_(4)for lithium metal batteries显示文摘The pursuit of high energy density has promoted the development of high-performance lithium metal batteries(LMBs).However,the underestimated but non-negligible dendrites of Li anode have been observed to shorten battery lifespan.Herein,a composite separator(TiO_(2-x)@PP),in which TiO_(2)with electron-localized oxygen vacancies(TiO_(2-x))is coated on a commercial PP separator,is fabricated to homogenize lithium ion transport and stabilize the lithium anode interface.With the utilization of TiO_(2-x)@PP separators,the symmetric lithium metal battery displays enhanced cycle stability over 800 h under a high current density of 8 m A cm^(-2).Moreover,the LMBs assembled with high-loading LiFePO_(4)(9.24 mg cm^(-2))deliver a stable cycling performance over 900 cycles at a rate of 0.5 C.Comprehensive theoretical studies based on density functional theory(DFT)further unveil the mechanism.The favorable TiO_(2-x)is beneficial for facilitating fast Li+migration and impeding anions transfer.In addressing the Li dendrite issues,the use of TiO_(2-x)@PP separator potentially provides a facile and attractive strategy for designing well-performing LMBs,which are expected to meet the application requirements of rechargeable batteries.Qi An Qing Liu Shimin Wang Lixiang Liu Han Wang Yongjiang Sun Lingyan Duan Genfu Zhao Hong Guo 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,,12:0
9Research Article Acetic acid-mediated rapid cubic-to-hexagonal(α-β)phase transformation for ultra-bright lanthanide-dopedβ-NaYF_(4)nanobioprobes显示文摘Hexagonal-phase NaYF_(4)(β-NaYF_(4))has been acknowledged to be one of the most efficient doping hosts to prepare bright lanthanide-doped luminescent nano-bioprobes for various biomedical applications.However,to date,it remains a great challenge to synthesize ultra-bright lanthanide-dopedβ-NaYF_(4)nano-bioprobes under a low reaction temperature by using conventional synthetic methods.Herein,we first develop an acetic acid(HAc)-mediated coprecipitation method for the preparation of ultrabright lanthanide-dopedβ-NaYF_(4)nanoprobes under a low reaction temperature at 200℃.Based on a series of comparative spectroscopic investigations,we show that the use of HAc in the reaction environment can not only promote the rapidα-βphase transformation of NaYF_(4)host at 200℃ within 1 h but also boost the absolute photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY)of NaYF_(4)nanocrystals to 30.68%for near-infrared emission and to 3.79%for upconversion luminescence,both of which are amongst the highest values for diverse lanthanide-doped luminescent nanocrystals ever reported.By virtue of their superior nearinfrared luminescence,we achieve optical-guided dynamic vasculature imaging in vivo of the whole body at a high spatial resolution(23.8μm)under 980 nm excitation,indicating its potential for the diagnosis and treatment evaluation of vasculaturerelated diseases.Shihui Jiang Jianxi Ke Guowei Li Aijun Liu Xiaohan Li Lixiang Ye Feilong Jiang Yongsheng Liu Maochun Hong 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:0
