| 1 | 17β-estradiol promotes recovery after myocardial infarction by enhancing homing and angiogenic capacity of bone marrow-derived endothelial progenitor cells through ERa-SDF-1/ CXCR4 crosstalking显示文摘17β-estradiol (E2)has been shown to mediate endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs)to repair infarcted myocardium.Both.estrogen receptor α(ERα)and stromal derived factor-1 (SDF-1)/CXCR4 signaling pathways may play a critical role in regulating homing and angiogenesis of EPCs in this process.However,the interaction between ERa and SDF-1/CXCR4 signaling pathways remains unclear.In response to E2,the expression of SDF-1 and CXCR4 in EPCs from ovariectomized BALB/C mice was obviously up-regulated,in addition,the migration and tube formation of EPCs in vitro were also significantly enhanced.However,ERα antagonist (MMP)and CXCR4 inhibitor (AMD3100)significantly decreased the migration The combined treatment of MMP and AMD3100 and tube length of EPCs,even if mediated by E2. exerted more inhibitory effects on migration and tube formation of EPCs induced by E2.In in vivo studies,ovariectomized mice were induced acute myocardial infarction (AMI),and divided into four groups (n =6):non-preconditioned EPCs (3 × 10^6)group,E2-preconditioned EPCs group,MMP +AMD3100 preconditioned EPCs group,and EPCs pretreated with E2 +MMP +AMD3100 group.E2 group displayed a greater number of homing EPCs,increased capillary density in infarcted myocardium,decreased left ventricular (LV) fibrosis.Nevertheless,these effects of E2 were almost completely blocked by the combined treatment of MMP and AMD3100.E2 can produce cardiovascular protective effects in AMI setting by enhancing homing and angiogenic capacity of EPCs through ERα and CXCR4 signaling pathways, which means that ERα and CXCR4 pathways are effective targets for the development of treatment strategies for AMI. | Zhize Yuan Lei Kang Zhe Wang Anqing Chen Qiang Zhao Haiqing Li | 2018 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2018,50,12: | 6 |
| 2 | CMOS-compatible high-index doped silica waveguide with an embedded silicon-nanocrystal strip for all-optical analog-to-digital conversion显示文摘Passive all-optical signal processors that overcome the electronic bottleneck can potentially be the enabling components for the next-generation high-speed and lower power consumption systems. Here, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a CMOS-compatible waveguide and its application to the all-optical analog-to-digital converter(ADC) under the nonlinear spectral splitting and filtering scheme. As the key component of the proposed ADC, a 50 cm long high-index doped silica glass spiral waveguide is composed of a thin silicon-nanocrystal(Si-nc) layer embedded in the core center for enhanced nonlinearity. The device simultaneously possesses low loss(0.16 dB/cm at 1550 nm), large nonlinearity(305 W^-1∕km at 1550 nm), and negligible nonlinear absorption.A 2-bit ADC basic unit is achieved when pumped by the proposed waveguide structure at the telecom band and without any additional amplification. Simulation results that are consistent with the experimental ones are also demonstrated, which further confirm the feasibility of the proposed scheme for larger quantization resolution.This demonstrated approach enables a fully monolithic solution for all-optical ADC in the future, which can digitize broadband optical signals directly at low power consumption. | 4 | Wideband tunable passively Q-switched fiber laser at 2.8 μm using a broadband carbon nanotube saturable absorber显示文摘We propose and demonstrate a widely tunable passively Q-switched Ho^(3+)∕Pr^(3+)-codoped ZrF_4-BaF_2-LaF_3-AlF_3-NaF fiber laser operating in the 2.8 μm mid-infrared(MIR) waveband based on a single-walled carbon nanotube(SWCNT) saturable absorber(SA). The SWCNTs have diameters ranging from 1.4 to 1.7 nm. The modulation depth and saturation intensity of the SWCNT SA measured at 2850 nm are 16.5% and 1.66 MW∕cm^2, respectively. Stable Q-switched pulses with the shortest pulse duration of 1.46 μs and the maximum pulse energy of 0.43 μJ are achieved at a launched pump power of 445.6 mW. The combined use of a broadband SWCNT SA and a plane ruled grating ensures a broad continuously tuning range of 55.0 nm from 2837.6 to 2892.6 nm.The output powers, emission spectra, repetition rates, and pulse durations at different tuning wavelengths are also characterized and analyzed. Our results indicate that SWCNTs can be excellent broadband SAs in the 3 μm MIR region. | 6 | The predictive value of histological tumor regression grading (TRG) for therapeutic evaluation in locally advanced esophageal carcinoma treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy显示文摘Response criteria remain controversial in therapeutic evaluation for locally advanced esophageal carcinoma treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy.We aimed to identify the predictive value of tumor regression grading(TRG) in tumor response and prognosis.Fifty-two patients who underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by esophagectomy and radical 2-field lymphadenectomy between June 2007 and June 2011 were included in this study.All tissue specimens were reassessed according to the TRG scale.Potential prognostic factors,including clinicopathologic factors,were evaluated.Survival curves were generated by using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared with the log-rank test.Prognostic factors were determined with multivariate analysis by using the Cox regression model.Our results showed that of 52 cases,43(83%) were squamous cell carcinoma and 9(17%) were adenocarcinoma.TRG was correlated with pathologic T(P = 0.006) and N(P < 0.001) categories.Median overall survival for the entire cohort was 33 months.The 1-and 2-year overall survival rates were 71% and 44%,respectively.Univariate survival analysis results showed that favorable prognostic factors were histological subtype(P = 0.003),pathologic T category(P = 0.026),pathologic N category(P < 0.001),and TRG G0(P = 0.041).Multivariate analyses identified pathologic N category(P < 0.001) as a significant independent prognostic parameter.Our results indicate that histomorphologic TRG can be considered as an alternative option to predict the therapeutic efficacy and prognostic factor for patients with locally advanced esophageal carcinoma treated by neoadjuvant chemotherapy. | Kang Guo Ling Cai Yu Zhang Jian-Fei Zhu Tie-Hua Rong Peng Lin Chong-Li Hao Wu-Ping Wang Zhe Li Lan-Jun Zhang | 2012 | Chinese Journal of Cancer2012,31,8: | 3 |
| 7 | Kinetics of FeSe_2 oxidation by ferric iron and its reactivity compared with FeS_2显示文摘The mobility and bioavailability of selenium is a major health and environmental issue and a main concern for geological disposal of high-level radioactive waste. Chemically and/or microbially mediated oxidation of insoluble Se-bearing particulate, such as iron selenides, to dissolved and mobile phases controls the transport and distribution of Se in the environment. The oxidation of ferroselite(FeSe2) by ferric iron was investigated in anoxic conditions. The redox reaction can be represented by: FeSe2 + 2Fe3+ = 2Se0 + 3Fe2+. Kinetic studies indicated that the reaction can be described by second-order rate law, with rate constants of 0.49±0.01, 0.85±0.02, 1.84±0.04, and 3.29±0.13 L mol-1 s-1 at pH 1.62, 1.87, 2.23, and 2.49, respectively. The positive correlation between reaction rate and pH implies that diffusion of Fe3+ oxidant to the mineral surface is the rate-determining step. The strong reactivity of FeSe2 towards Fe3+ suggests that ferric iron may play a significant role in FeSe2 oxidation process(e.g., by Se4+, O2, etc.) and Se0 should be the first reaction product. Also, it was shown that the reduction rate of Fe3+ or Se4+ by pyrite(FeS2) can be significantly increased in the presence of FeSe2, suggesting a stronger reactivity of FeSe2 compared with pyrite. | 8 | Relationship between epidermal growth factor receptor gene mutation and copy number in Chinese patients with non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) gene mutation and copy number are useful predictive markers that guide the selection of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) patients for EGFR-targeting therapy.This study aimed to investigate the correlation between EGFR gene mutation and copy number and clinicopathologic characteristics of Chinese patients with NSCLC.NSCLC specimens collected from 205 patients between November 2009 and January 2011 were selected to detect EGFR gene mutations with real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and to detect EGFR gene copy number with fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH).EGFR mutations primarily occurred in females,non-smokers,and patients with adenocarinomas(all P < 0.001).Tissues from 128(62%) patients were FISH-positive for EGFR,including 37(18%) with gene amplification and 91(44%) with high polysomy.EGFR gene mutation was correlated with FISH-positive status(R = 0.340,P < 0.001).Multivariate analysis showed that not smoking(OR = 5.910,95% CI = 2.363-14.779,P < 0.001) and having adenocarcinoma(OR = 0.122,95% CI = 0.026-0.581,P = 0.008) were favorable factors for EGFR gene mutation.These results show a high frequency of EGFR FISH positivity in NSCLC tissues from Chinese patients and a significant relevance between EGFR gene mutations and FISH-positive status.Among the FISH-positive samples,EGFR gene mutation occurred more frequently in samples with gene amplification compared to those with high polysomy,suggesting that EGFR mutation and gene amplification should be used as clinical decision parameters to predict response to EGFR-targeting therapy. | Lan-Jun Zhang Ling Cai Zhe Li Wu-Ping Wang Kang Guo Jian-Yong Shao Jun-Ye Wang Hui Yu Tie-Hua Rong | 2012 | Chinese Journal of Cancer2012,31,10: | 3 |

| 10 | Identification of multi-target anti-cancer agents from TCM formula by in silico prediction and in vitro validation显示文摘Cancer is a complex disease associated with multiple gene mutations and malignant phenotypes,and multi-target drugs provide a promising therapy idea for the treatment of cancer.Natural products with abundant chemical structure types and rich pharmacological characteristics could be ideal sources for screening multi-target antineoplastic drugs.In this paper,50 tumor-related targets were collected by searching the Therapeutic Target Database and Thomson Reuters Integrity database,and a multi-target anti-cancer prediction system based on mt-QSAR models was constructed by using naïve Bayesian and recursive partitioning algorithm for the first time.Through the multi-target anti-cancer prediction system,some dominant fragments that act on multiple tumor-related targets were analyzed,which could be helpful in designing multi-target anti-cancer drugs.Anti-cancer traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and its natural products were collected to form a TCM formula-based natural products library,and the potential targets of the natural products in the library were predicted by multi-target anti-cancer prediction system.As a result,alkaloids,flavonoids and terpenoids were predicted to act on multiple tumor-related targets.The predicted targets of some representative compounds were verified according to literature review and most of the selected natural compounds were found to exert certain anti-cancer activity in vitro biological experiments.In conclusion,the multi-target anti-cancer prediction system is very effective and reliable,and it could be further used for elucidating the functional mechanism of anti-cancer TCM formula and screening for multi-target anti-cancer drugs.The anti-cancer natural compounds found in this paper will lay important information for further study. | ZHANG Bao-Yue ZHENG Yi-Fu ZHAO Jun KANG De WANG Zhe XU Lv-Jie LIU Ai-Lin DU Guan-Hua | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2022,20,5: | 2 |

| 12 | Passively Q-switched erbium doped fiber laser using a gold nanostars based saturable absorber显示文摘In this paper, we propose and demonstrate an all-fiber passively Q-switched erbium doped fiber laser(EDFL) by using gold nanostars(GNSs) as a saturable absorber(SA) for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. In comparison with other gold nanomorphologies, GNSs have multiple localized surface plasmon resonances, which means that they can be used to construct wideband ultrafast pulse lasers. By inserting the GNS SA into an EDFL cavity pumped by a 980 nm laser diode, a stable passively Q-switched laser at 1564.5 nm was achieved for a threshold pump power of 40 mW. By gradually increasing the pump power from 40 to 120 mW, the pulse duration decreases from 12.8 to 5.3 μs and the repetition rate increases from 10 to 17 kHz. | 15 | Laser powder bed fusion of high-strength Sc/Zr-modified Al–Mg alloy:phase selection,microstructural/mechanical heterogeneity,and tensile deformation behavior显示文摘Laser powder bed fusion(L-PBF)of Sc/Zr-modified Al-based alloys has recently become a promising method for developing a new generation of high-performance Al alloys.To clarify the modification roles of Sc/Zr elements,an Al–4.66Mg–0.48Mn–0.72Sc–0.33Zr(wt.%)alloy was processed using L-PBF.The effect of the local solidification condition of the molten pool on the precipitation behavior of primary Al_(3)(Sc,Zr)was analyzed based on time-dependent nucleation theory.It was found that primary Al_(3)(Sc,Zr)inevitably precipitated at the fusion boundary,while its precipitation could be effectively suppressed in the inner region of the molten pool.This subsequently induced the formation of a heterogeneousα-Al matrix.After direct aging,the heredity of solidification microstructure introduced heterogeneous secondary Al_(3)(Sc,Zr)precipitates withinα-Al matrix.Owing to the inverse relationship between grain boundary strengthening and precipitation strengthening,the direct-aged sample with dual heterogeneous structures exhibited reduced mechanical heterogeneity,resulting in lowered hetero-deformation-induced hardening.The low strain-hardening capability in the direct-aged sample promoted necking instability while inducing a large Lüders elongation,which effectively improved the tensile ductility. | Zihong Wang Xin Lin Nan Kang Jing Chen Hua Tan Zhe Feng Zehao Qin Haiou Yang Weidong Huang | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,36: | 2 |

| 18 | The Simultaneous Three-channel Multicolor CCD Photometric System of the 1.2 m Telescope at Jilin Astronomical Observatory显示文摘We will introduce the construction and design of a new simultaneous three-channel multicolor CCD photometer.This photometer has been mounted on the 1.2 m telescope at Jilin Astronomical Observatory,and is applied to study space debris,gamma-ray burst afterglows,asteroids and other rapidly variable objects.As one of the ground follow-up telescopes of the Chinese-French Space-based multi-band astronomical Variable Objects Monitor(SVOM)mission,it appears very essential to evaluate the performance of the photometry system of this photometer,which can achieve simultaneous imaging within a field of view of 21’.5×21’.5,21’.5×21’.5 and21’.3×21’.3 in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey(SDSS)g’,r’,i’bands,respectively.Photometric calibrations were carried out by using plenty of SDSS standard stars,and the relationship between the photometric system and the Johnson-Bessel filter system was also studied.The results of the performance evaluation from observing open cluster M67 are presented. | Bing-Li Niu Cheng-Zhi Liu Zhen-Wei Li Zhe Kang You Lv | 2022 | Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2022,22,5: | 1 |
