1Expansive arterial remodeling of carotid arteries in symptomatic ischemic patients显示文摘Purpose: The present study aimed to assess the associations of expansive remodeling of carotid arteries with ischemic symptoms and the degree of stenosis. Materials and Methods: A total of 41 symptomatic patients with vulnerable plaques and 25 asymptomatic individuals with stable plaques were included. All patients underwent 3.0T high-resolution MRI of the carotid artery(CA) for measuring the expansive remodeling(ER) ratio and assessing plaque stability. The ER ratio was calculated by dividing the maximum distance between the lumen and the outer border of the plaque in the internal CA by the lumen diameter within 1 centimeter of the plaque at the distal ipsilateral internal CA. ER ratios were compared between the symptomatic and asymptomatic groups. The 41 symptomatic patients were further divided into 4 groups according to stenosis rate(CA stenosis <50%, 50%–74%, 75–89%, and > 90%), and the correlation between the ER ratio and the rate of stenosis was evaluated. Results: There was a significant difference in ER ratio between the symptomatic and asymptomatic groups(p<0.001). When symptomatic patients were divided into 4 subgroups based on degree of stenosis, ER ratios among groups showed statistically significant differences(p=0.014). Conclusion: There were significant associations of the ER ratio with ischemic symptoms. Furthermore, the ER ratio in symptomatic patients continued to increase with stenosis severity. 2Elucidating the various multi-phosphorylation statuses of protein functional regions by 193-nm ultraviolet photodissociation显示文摘Ultraviolet photodissociation is a high-energy fast excitation method in mass spectrometry and has been successfully applied for the elucidation of sequences and structures of biomolecules. However, its ability to distinguish the phosphorylation sites isomers of multi-phosphopeptides has been not systematically investigated until now. A 193-nm ultraviolet laser dissociation mass spectrometry system was established in this study and applied to elucidate the complex multi-phosphorylation statuses mimicking the functional regions of Sic1, Gli3 and Tau. 3Particle Filter Object Tracking Algorithm Based on Sparse Representation and Nonlinear Resampling显示文摘Object tracking with abrupt motion is an important research topic and has attracted wide attention.To obtain accurate tracking results,an improved particle filter tracking algorithm based on sparse representation and nonlinear resampling is proposed in this paper. First,the sparse representation is used to compute particle weights by considering the fact that the weights are sparse when the object moves abruptly,so the potential object region can be predicted more precisely. Then,a nonlinear resampling process is proposed by utilizing the nonlinear sorting strategy,which can solve the problem of particle diversity impoverishment caused by traditional resampling methods. 4Hierarchical CuO-ZnO/SiO_(2) Fibrous Membranes for Efficient Removal of Congo Red and 4‑Nitrophenol from Water显示文摘Hierarchical CuO-ZnO/SiO_(2)(CZS)nanofibrous membranes are designed and fabricated to remove Congo red and 4-nitro-phenol two common small molecular pollutants in water.The electrospun SiO_(2) fibrous membrane is serves as the substrate for hydrothermal depositing CuO-ZnO nanosheets.The CZS nanofibrous membrane shows good adsorption characteristics for Congo red due to the hierarchical morphology and the adsorption kinetics where isotherm follows the pseudo-second-order model and Langmuir model,respectively.The maximum adsorption capacity for Congo red is 141.8 mg/g.Moreover,the membrane exhibits excellent catalytic reduction activity for 4-nitrophenol under mild conditions and over 96%of the pollut-ants are degraded within 90 s.The CZS nanofibrous membrane has promising prospects in applications in water treatment and environmental protection because of the good flexibility,easy fabrication,excellent adsorption,and catalytic activity.Caihong Wang Ke Liu Dong Wang Guomin Wang Paul KChu Zheyi Meng Xuefen Wang 2022Advanced Fiber Materials2022,4,5:2

6Symptoms Burden and Health-related Quality of Life in Chinese Patients with Primary Biliary Cholangitis显示文摘Background and Aims:Primary biliary cholangitis(PBC)is a chronic liver disease that negatively affects the health-related quality of life(HRQoL)of patients.Furthermore,the HRQoL of Chinese patients has been neglected for a long time.The present study aimed to assess the HRQoL of Chinese patients with PBC and explore the clinical variables correlating to the improvement of itch and fatigue.Methods:This was an observational,cross-sectional study.The PBC-40 and itch numerical rating scales were used to evaluate the symptoms and HRQoL of patients.Results:A total of 383 patients were recruited,and 86.4%were female,with a median age of 55 years(range:49-63 years).We found that females had significantly higher scores than males in symptoms(p=0.033)and cognitive domains(p=0.021),and the fatigue domain was higher in elderly patients(p=0.007).Meanwhile,patients whose body mass index was<18.5 had the highest scores in the symptoms(p=0.009),fatigue(p=0.010),and cognitive(p=0.019)domains.Age at participation(odds ratio[OR]=1.068,p=0.015)and albumin level at 12 months after ursodeoxycholic acid treatment(OR=208.807,p=0.025)were independent factors that affected the improvement of the itch and fatigue domains,respectively.Conclusions:The HRQoL of Chinese patients with PBC was significantly impaired depending on sex,age,and body mass index.Age and albumin level were significantly associated with the improvement of itch and fatigue,respectively.Therefore,treatment and support aimed at these two factors can be provided to improve the HRQoL of patients.Yansheng Liu Siyuan Tian Gui Jia Zheyi Han Changcun Guo Yulong Shang Ying Han 2021Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2021,9,6:2
7CO_(2) capture and in-situ conversion: recent progresses and perspectives显示文摘Global warming caused by excess carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emission has been a focus of the world.The development of neutral carbon technologies becomes a strategic choice for the sustainable human society.Integrating CO_(2) capture and conversion(iCCC)technology can simultaneously convert the captured CO_(2) from flue gas into value-added chemicals,which saves great energies and expenses incurred in CO_(2) compression and transportation processes of conventional carbon capture,utilization,and storage(CCUS)technology.The present review criti-cally discusses the dual-function materials(DFMs)and the iCCC technology at intermediate temperature for methane production and high temperature for syngas production.The design of reactor and optimization of operation conditions are emphasized from the perspective of industrial applications.The dual-fixed-bed reactors mode by switching the flue gas and reactant gases,and the dual-fluidized-bed reactors mode by the circulation of DFMs particles are comparatively reviewed.We hope this review can stimulate further studies including designing and fabricating feasible DFMs,exploring realistic catalytic process for CO_(2) conversion to high value-added chemicals,developing workable reactor modes and optimizing operation conditions,and establishing industrial demonstration for real applications of iCCC technology in the future.Bin Shao Yun Zhang Zheyi Sun Jianping Li Zihao Gao Zhicheng Xie Jun Hu Honglai Liu 2022Green Chemical Engineering2022,3,3:2
8In-situ generation and global property profiling of metal nanoclusters by ultraviolet laser dissociation-mass spectrometry显示文摘Metal nanoclusters are promising nanomaterials with unique properties, but only a few ones with specific numbers of metal atoms can be obtained and studied up to now. In this study, we establish a new paradigm of in-situ generation and global study of metal nanoclusters with different sizes, constitutions, and charge states, including both accurate constitution characterization and global activity profiling. The complex mixtures of metal nanoclusters are produced by employing single-pulsed 193-nm laser dissociation of monolayer-protected cluster(MPC) precursors within a high-resolution mass spectrometry(HRMS). More than400 types of bare gold nanoclusters including novel multiply charged(2+ and 3+), S-/P-doped, and silver alloy ones can be efficiently generated and accurately characterized. A distinct size(1 to 142 atoms)-and charge(1+ to 3+)-hierarchy reactivity is clearly observed for the first time. 9Towards asynchronous federated learning for heterogeneous edge-powered internet of things显示文摘The advancement of the Internet of Things(IoT)brings new opportunities for collecting real-time data and deploying machine learning models.Nonetheless,an individual IoT device may not have adequate computing resources to train and deploy an entire learning model.At the same time,transmitting continuous real-time data to a central server with high computing resource incurs enormous communication costs and raises issues in data security and privacy.Federated learning,a distributed machine learning framework,is a promising solution to train machine learning models with resource-limited devices and edge servers.Yet,the majority of existing works assume an impractically synchronous parameter update manner with homogeneous IoT nodes under stable communication connections.In this paper,we develop an asynchronous federated learning scheme to improve training efficiency for heterogeneous IoT devices under unstable communication network.Particularly,we formulate an asynchronous federated learning model and develop a lightweight node selection algorithm to carry out learning tasks effectively.The proposed algorithm iteratively selects heterogeneous IoT nodes to participate in the global learning aggregation while considering their local computing resource and communication condition.Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our proposed asynchronous federated learning scheme outperforms the state-of-the-art schemes in various settings on independent and identically distributed(i.i.d.)and non-i.i.d.data distribution.Zheyi Chen Weixian Liao Kun Hua Chao Lu Wei Yu 2021Digital Communications and Networks2021,7,3:2
10A composite of Ni-Fe-Zn layered double hydroxides/biochar for atrazine removal from aqueous solution显示文摘This study assembled corn stalk-derived biochar(BC)with layered double hydroxide(LDH)through a rapid coprecipitation of biochar and metal(Ni/Fe/Zn)hydroxide precipitates.A BC and LDH composite(BC-LDH)and modified BC-LDH material after heating(BC-LDH-P)were prepared successfully for atrazine adsorptive removal.The physicochemical properties of the synthesized samples were analyzed by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).Batch experiments were conducted to study the sorption of atrazine onto BC,BC-LDH,and BC-LDH-P from the aqueous solution.The adsorption of atrazine onto BC-LDH and BC-LDH-P were performed following with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model,and the sorption isotherms agreed well with the Freundlich fitting model.The adsorption amounts of the three materials are arranged in descending order is as follows:BC-LDH-P>BC-LDH>BC(143.15>123.10>95.93 mg g−1,respectively).Due to the high crystallinity of the LDH material and the high binding degree with biochar,Ni/Fe/Zn-LDH biochar composites offer a potential alternative to a carbon-based adsorbent for atrazine removal from aqueous solution.Yifan Wang Jiaming Kang Simeng Jiang Hui Li Zheyi Ren Qinbo Xu Qun Jiang Wenzhu Liu Ruizhen Li Ying Zhang 2020Biochar2020,2,4:2

13Towards multi-party targeted model poisoning attacks against federated learning systems显示文摘The federated learning framework builds a deep learning model collaboratively by a group of connected devices via only sharing local parameter updates to the central parameter server.Nonetheless,the lack of transparency in the local data resource makes it prone to adversarial federated attacks,which have shown increasing ability to reduce learning performance.Existing research efforts either focus on the single-party attack with impractical perfect knowledge setting and limited stealthy ability or the random attack that has no control on attack effects.In this paper,we investigate a new multi-party adversarial attack with the imperfect knowledge of the target system.Controlled by an adversary,a number of compromised devices collaboratively launch targeted model poisoning attacks,intending to misclassify the targeted samples while maintaining stealthy under different de-tection strategies.Specifically,the compromised devices jointly minimize the loss function of model training in different scenarios.To overcome the update scaling problem,we develop a new boosting strategy by introducing two stealthy metrics.Via experimental results,we show that under both perfect knowledge and limited knowl-edge settings,the multi-party attack is capable of successfully evading detection strategies while guaranteeing the convergence.We also demonstrate that the learned model achieves the high accuracy on the targeted samples,which confirms the significant impact of the multi-party attack on federated learning systems.Zheyi Chen Pu Tian Weixian Liao Wei Yu 2021High-Confidence Computing2021,1,1:1

16Abnormal Crowd Behavior Detection Based on the Entropy of Optical Flow显示文摘To improve the detection accuracy and robustness of crowd anomaly detection,especially crowd emergency evacuation detection,the abnormal crowd behavior detection method is proposed.This method is based on the improved statistical global optical flow entropy which can better describe the degree of chaos of crowd.First,the optical flow field is extracted from the video sequences and a 2D optical flow histogram is gained.Then,the improved optical flow entropy,combining information theory with statistical physics is calculated from 2D optical flow histograms.Finally,the anomaly can be detected according to the abnormality judgment formula.The experimental results show that the detection accuracy achieved over 95%in three public video datasets,which indicates that the proposed algorithm outperforms other state-of-the-art algorithms.Zheyi Fan Wei Li Zhonghang He Zhiwen Liu 2019Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2019,28,4:1

19Adhesion between nanobubbles and fine cassiterite particles显示文摘Adhesion is an important process of particle-bubble interaction in fine particle(-10μm)flotation.This paper studied the adhesion process and mechanism between nanobubbles and fine cassiterite particles by using a high-speed camera,atomic force microscope(AFM),adsorption capacity tests,and induction time tests.After being pretreated with nanobubbles(NBs)water,fine cassiterite particles flotation tests were carried out using caprylhydroxamic acid(CHA)as a collector.The results showed that NBs can improve the recovery and flotation rate of fine cassiterite while decreasing the collector dosage.The adsorption capacity test indicated that the cassiterite treated with NBs had lower demand for collector concentration.The AFM imaging results further demonstrate that NBs could reduce the adsorption of CHA on the surface of minerals.Since NBs played a part of the role of collector,it can improve the flotation effect while reducing the amount of collector.The induction time test and the high-speed camera observation test showed that NBs promoted the attachment between bubbles and cassiterite particles.On the other hand,NBs agglomerate cassiterite particles,increasing the probability of particles colliding with bubbles.Liuyi Ren Zheyi Zhang Weineng Zeng Yimin Zhang 2023International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2023,33,4:1
20MEMS-actuated metasurface Alvarez lens显示文摘Miniature lenses with a tunable focus are essential components for many modern applications involving compact optical systems.While several tunable lenses have been reported with various tuning mechanisms,they often face challenges with respect to power consumption,tuning speed,fabrication cost,or production scalability.In this work,we have adapted the mechanism of an Alvarez lens–a varifocal composite lens in which lateral shifts of two optical elements with cubic phase surfaces give rise to a change in the optical power–to construct a miniature,microelectromechanical system(MEMS)-actuated metasurface Alvarez lens.Implementation based on an electrostatic MEMS generates fast and controllable actuation with low power consumption.The utilization of metasurfaces–ultrathin and subwavelength-patterned diffractive optics–as optical elements greatly reduces the device volume compared to systems using conventional freeform lenses.The entire MEMS Alvarez metalens is fully compatible with modern semiconductor fabrication technologies,granting it the potential to be mass-produced at a low unit cost.In the reported prototype operating at 1550 nm wavelength,a total uniaxial displacement of 6.3µm was achieved in the Alvarez metalens with a direct-current(DC)voltage application up to 20V,which modulated the focal position within a total tuning range of 68µm,producing more than an order of magnitude change in the focal length and a 1460-diopter change in the optical power.The MEMS Alvarez metalens has a robust design that can potentially generate a much larger tuning range without substantially increasing the device volume or energy consumption,making it desirable for a wide range of imaging and display applications.Zheyi Han Shane Colburn Arka Majumdar Karl F.Bohringer 2020Microsystems & Nanoengineering2020,6,1:1
