2Parameter Group Optimization by Combining CUBE with Surface Filtering and Its Application显示文摘Shallow water multi-beam echo sounders(MBESs)are characterized by their high resolution and high density,and MBES data processing is a hotspot in modern marine surveying.The Combined Uncertainty and Bathymetry Estimator(CUBE)is the mainstream MBES data processing algorithm,although little is known about its core theories and parameters.In this paper,the basic principle,mathematical model,key parameters,and main processing steps of CUBE are described systematically.A parameter group optimization method that combines CUBE with a surface filter is established.Additionally,an example is given that shows the steps for parameter group optimization,including selection of a typical area,parameter group testing,and comparative analysis,and the method is then applied to shallow water MBES data processing.The results show that the method can improve the accuracy and efficiency of automatic data processing effectively,and it is thus of engineering application value.Dineng ZHAO Ziyin WU Jieqiong ZHOU Mingwei WANG Zhihao LIU Jiabiao LI 2020Journal of Geodesy and Geoinformation Science2020,3,2:7

83D printed fiber-optic nanomechanical bioprobe显示文摘Ultrasensitive nanomechanical instruments,e.g.atomic force microscopy(AFM),can be used to perform delicate biomechanical measurements and reveal the complex mechanical environment of biological processes.However,these instruments are limited because of their size and complex feedback system.In this study,we demonstrate a miniature fiber optical nanomechanical probe(FONP)that can be used to detect the mechanical properties of single cells and in vivo tissue measurements.A FONP that can operate in air and in liquids was developed by programming a microcantilever probe on the end face of a single-mode fiber using femtosecond laser two-photon polymerization nanolithography.To realize stiffness matching of the FONP and sample,a strategy of customizing the microcantilever’s spring constant according to the sample was proposed based on structure-correlated mechanics.As a proof-of concept,three FONPs with spring constants varying from 0.421 N m^(−1)to 52.6 N m^(−1)by more than two orders of magnitude were prepared.The highest microforce sensitivity was 54.5 nmμN^(−1)and the detection limit was 2.1 nN.The Young’s modulus of heterogeneous soft materials,such as polydimethylsiloxane,muscle tissue of living mice,onion cells,and MCF-7 cells,were successfully measured,which validating the broad applicability of this method.Our strategy provides a universal protocol for directly programming fiber-optic AFMs.Moreover,this method has no special requirements for the size and shape of living biological samples,which is infeasible when using commercial AFMs.FONP has made substantial progress in realizing basic biological discoveries,which may create new biomedical applications that cannot be realized by current AFMs.Mengqiang Zou Changrui Liao Yanping Chen Lei Xu Shuo Tang Gaixia Xu Ke Ma Jiangtao Zhou Zhihao Cai Bozhe Li Cong Zhao Zhourui Xu Yuanyuan Shen Shen Liu Ying Wang Zongsong Gan Hao Wang Xuming Zhang Sandor Kasas Yiping Wang 2023International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2023,5,1:1

10Short-term exposure to fine particulate matter constituents and mortality:case-crossover evidence from 32 counties in China显示文摘A growing number of studies associated increased mortality with exposures to specific fine particulate(PM_(2.5))constituents,while great heterogeneity exists between locations.In China,evidence linking PM_(2.5)constituents and mortality was extensively sparse.This study primarily aimed to quantify short-term associations between PM_(2.5)constituents and non-accidental mortality among the Chinese population.We collected daily mortality records from 32 counties in China between January 1,2011,and December 31,2013.Daily concentrations of main PM_(2.5)constituents(organic carbon(OC),elemental carbon(EC),nitrate(NO_(3)^(-)),sulfate(SO_(4)^(2−)),and ammonium(NH_(4)^(+)))were estimated using the modified Community Multiscale Air Quality model.Time-stratified case-crossover design with conditional logistic regression models was adopted to estimate mortality risks associated with short-term exposures to PM_(2.5)mass and its constituents.Stratification analyses were done by sex,age,and season.A total of 116,959 non-accidental deaths were investigated.PM_(2.5)concentrations on the day of death were averaged at 75.7μg m^(−3)(control day:75.6μg m^(−3)),with an interquartile range(IQR)of 65.2μg m^(−3).Per IQR rise in PM_(2.5),EC,OC,NO_(3)^(-),SO_(4)^(2−),and NH_(4)^(+)at lag-04 day was associated with an increase in non-accidental mortality of 2.4%(95%confidence interval,(1.0–3.7),1.7%(0.8–2.7),2.9%(1.6–4.3),2.1%(0.4–3.9),1.0%(0.2–1.9),and 1.6%(0.3–2.9),respectively.Both PM_(2.5)mass and its constituents were strongly associated with elevated cardiovascular mortality risks,but only PM_(2.5),EC,and OC were positively associated with respiratory mortality at lag-3 day.PM_(2.5)mass and its constituents associated effects on mortality varied among sex-and age-specific subpopulations.Differences in the seasonal pattern of associations exist among PM_(2.5)constituents,with stronger effects related to EC and NO_(3)^(-)in warm months but SO_(4)^(2−)and NH_(4)^(+)in cold months.Short-term exposures to PM_(2.5)compositions were positively associated with increased risks of mortality,particularly those constituents from combustion-related sources.Peixuan Zhou Jianlin Hu Chuanhua Yu Junzhe Bao Siqi Luo Zhihao Shi Yang Yuan Shaocai Mo Zhouxin Yin Yunquan Zhang 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,12:1

13Nonlinear thermal emission and visible thermometry显示文摘The control of thermal emission is of great importance for emerging applications in energy conversion and thermometric sensing.Usually,thermal emission at ambient temperature is limited to the midto far-infrared,according to the linear theory of Planck’s law.We experimentally demonstrate a broadband nonlinear thermal emission in the visible-NIR spectrum within a quadradic nonlinear medium,which emits visible thermal radiation through a pump-driven nonlinear upconversion from its mid-IR components even at room temperature,unlike its linear counterpart which requires ultrahigh temperature.The broadband emission is enabled by the crucial random quasi-phase-matching condition in our nonlinear nanocrystal powders.Moreover,nonlinear thermal emission also permits visible thermometry using traditional optical cameras instead of thermal ones.This scheme paves the way to understand thermal radiation dynamics with nonlinearity in many fields,such as nonlinear heat transfer and nonlinear thermodynamics.Zhihao Zhou Wei Liu Hengzhe Yan Xianfeng Chen Wenjie Wan 2022Advanced Photonics2022,4,4:1
14Experimental study of the settling of twin spherical particles released side by side: The impact of particle size, fluid viscosity, initial spacing, and particle density显示文摘The settling of solid particles in a fluid is an important process that needs to be considered in many fields of research.For example,the interactions among particles and between particles and the surrounding fluid are important topics in studying suspended sediment transport and water clarification.In this paper,the settling processes and interactions of twin spherical particles released side by side were experimentally studied.The Reynolds number varied in the range of 1-300,which is within the transition zone.Particle Tracking Velocimetry(PTV)and Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV)were utilized to capture the settlement trajectory,and provide insight into the flow fields around the particles.The influences of particle size,fluid viscosity,initial spacing,and particle density on the settling process were systematically investigated.The experimental results reveal that the initial spacing between the twin particles(l_(0)*)and the Reynolds number(Re)are the two most important factors affecting particle settling.The interaction between particles comprises only repulsion when the initial spacing is small,while the density of particles has little effect on the final settling state when the initial spacing is not very small.The flow fields around different particles are similar for the same Re,leading to similar final settlement behaviors,except for the case of l_(0)*=0,when the influence of particle rotation cannot be ignored.Except for the case of l_(0)*=0,although the particle density has little effect on the final settling behavior,it affects the repulsive process during settling.The final repulsive distance between the twin particles is highly dependent on Re and l_(0)*.Two critical Re values exist(~10 and~100),where the repulsive distance is negatively correlated with Re when Re<10,but it is positively correlated with Re when Re>100.However,the repulsive distance is always negatively correlated with l_(0)*.These findings can improve understanding of more complex phenomena such as the particle group settling process and sediment transport.Yang Xiao Jieqing Liu Pei Zhang Jian Zhou Dongfang Liang Zhihao Wang Taotao Zhang Saiyu Yuan Hongwu Tang 2023International Journal of Sediment Research2023,38,1:1
15UV-light-assisted synthesis of CeB_(6)@Ag nano-trees for SERS application显示文摘The conventional methods of using surfactants to synthesize noble metal nanoparticles usually introduce residues on the surface,which inevitably decreases nanoparticles’ surface enhanced Raman scattering(SERS) performance.Herein,we propose a surfactant-free and feasible approach of preparing cerium hexaboride-Ag nano-trees hybrids(CeB_(6)@Ag nano-trees) as the SERS substrate.First,the CeB_(6)was synthesized by a one-pot ionothermal method.Secondly,the CeB_(6)powder and silver nitrate were dispersed in an aqueous solution.Thereafter,the Ag+was reduced by the UV-light assisted photoreaction and deposited on the surface of the CeB_(6).The SERS performance of the CeB_(6)@Ag nano-trees was evaluated by using the Rhodamine 6 G as the Raman reporter.It shows that CeB_(6)@Ag nano-trees exhibit good SERS sensitivity with the enhancement factor of 2.45 × 10^(7) and detection limit of 10^(-10) mol/L.Moreover,uniformity evaluation of the SERS signal intensity on the substrate also shows that relatively good relative standard deviation values of 12.6%(Raman peak@612 cm^(-1)) and 14.1%(Raman peak@1652 cm^(-1))can be achieved.Finally,finite element simulation evidences that excellent SERS performance of the CeB_(6)@Ag nano-trees is produced by the strong coupled localized surface plasmon resonance generated under the Raman laser irradiation.Xiaoyu Geng Fengquan Zhang Zhihao Guo Jinqiannan Zhang Yixiao Gao Chenjie Gu Xiang Shen Jun Zhou 2023Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,1:1

17Bexarotene improves motor function after spinal cord injury in mice显示文摘Spinal cord injury is a challenge in orthopedics because it causes irreversible damage to the central nervous system.Therefore,early treatment to prevent lesion expansion is crucial for the management of patients with spinal cord injury.Bexarotene,a type of retinoid,exerts therapeutic effects on patients with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma and Parkinson's disease.Bexarotene has been proven to promote autophagy,but it has not been used in the treatment of spinal cord injury.To investigate the effects of bexarotene on spinal cord injury,we established a mouse model of T11–T12 spinal cord contusion and performed daily intraperitoneal injection of bexarotene for 5 consecutive days.We found that bexarotene effectively reduced the deposition of collagen and the number of pathological neurons in the injured spinal cord,increased the number of synapses of nerve cells,reduced oxidative stress,inhibited pyroptosis,promoted the recovery of motor function,and reduced death.Inhibition of autophagy with 3-methyladenine reversed the effects of bexarotene on spinal cord injury.Bexarotene enhanced the nuclear translocation of transcription factor E3,which further activated AMP-activated protein kinase-S-phase kinase-associated protein 2-coactivator-associated arginine methyltransferase 1 and AMP-activated protein kinase-mammalian target of rapamycin signaling pathways.Intravenous injection of transcription factor E3 sh RNA or intraperitoneal injection of compound C,an AMP-activated protein kinase blocker,inhibited the effects of bexarotene.These findings suggest that bexarotene regulates nuclear translocation of transcription factor E3 through the AMP-activated protein kinase-Sphase kinase-associated protein 2-coactivator-associated arginine methyltransferase 1 and AMP-activated protein kinase-mammalian target of rapamycin signal pathways,promotes autophagy,decreases reactive oxygen species level,inhibits pyroptosis,and improves motor function after spinal cord injury.Xingyu Wang Zhihao Shen Haojie Zhang Hao-Jie Zhang Feida Li Letian Yu Hua Chen Kailiang Zhou Hui Xu Sunren Sheng 2023Neural Regeneration Research2023,18,12:1

20Metalens-based stereoscopic microscope显示文摘Stereoscopic microscopy is a promising technology to obtain three-dimensional microscopic images.Such microscopes are based on the parallax effect,and as such require two lenses to focus at two different points.Geometrical constraints,however,restrict their numerical apertures to about 0.2,thus limiting the system’s resolution.Higher numerical apertures(.35)can be achieved with designs using only one bulk lens,but such systems are0 times more costly than the conventional ones.Thus,there is a pressing need for alternative solutions to improve the resolution of stereoscopic systems.Here,we show that high-resolution and low-cost stereoscopic systems can be obtained using birefringent single-layer metalenses.We design and fabricate a birefringent metalens operating at 532 nm with a numerical aperture as high as 0.4.The metalens is then used to demonstrate high-resolution stereoscopic imaging of biological samples.The microscopic images are further displayed and perceived vividly in an autostereoscopic display.Our demonstration paves the way to a new strategy to achieve high-resolution and low-cost stereoscopic microscopes.YONG LONG JIANCHAO ZHANG ZHIHAO LIU WEIBIN FENG SONGMING GUO QIAN SUN QINFEI WU XIANGYANG YU JIANYING ZHOU EMILIANO RMARTINS HAOWEN LIANG JUNTAO LI 2022Photonics Research2022,10,6:1
