| 2 | Demonstration of an on-chip TE-pass polarizer using a silicon hybrid plasmonic grating显示文摘An on-chip, high extinction ratio transverse electric(TE)-pass polarizer using a silicon hybrid plasmonic grating is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Utilizing plasmonics to manipulate the effective index and mode distribution, the transverse magnetic mode is reflected and absorbed, while the TE mode passes through with relatively low propagation loss. For a 6-μm-long device, the measurement result shows that the extinction ratio in the wavelength range of 1.52 to 1.58 μm varies from 24 to 33.7 dB and the insertion loss is 2.8–4.9 dB. | 3 | Proteomic Study Identifies Proteins Involved in Brassinosteroid Regulation of Rice Growth显示文摘Brassinosteroids (BRs) are essential hormones for growth and development of plant. In rice, BRs regulate multiple developmental processes and affect many important traits such as height, leaf angle, fertility and seed filling. We identified brassinosteroid-regulated proteins in rice using proteomic approaches and performed functional analysis of some BR-regulated proteins by overexpression experiments. Using two-dimensional difference gel electrophoresis (2-D DIGE) followed by protein identification by mass spectrometry, we compared proteomic differences in the shoots and roots of the BR-insensitive mutant d61-4 and BR-deficient mutant brd1-3. We identified a large number of proteins differentially expressed in the mutants compared with wild type control. These include a glycine-rich RNA-binding protein (OsGRP1) and a DREPP2 protein, which showed reduced levels in the BR mutants. Overexpression of these two proteins partially suppressed the dwarf phenotype of the Arabidopsis BR-insensitive mutant bri1-5. In contrast to the reduced protein level, the RNA level of OsGRP1 was not significantly affected in the BR mutants or by BR treatment, suggesting BR regulation of OsGRP1 at the posttranslational level. | 4 | Insight into selective removal of copper from high-concentration nickel solutions with XPS and DFT:New technique to prepare 5N-nickel with chelating resin显示文摘An efficient and profitable separation process was proposed to prepare 5N(the purity of the metal solution reaches 99.999%) high-purity nickel from 3N nickel-solutions using Purolite S984. The adsorption performance of this superior resin, especially its selectivity for metal ions,was explored quantitatively. The maximum adsorption capacity for copper was 2.286 mmol/g calculated by the Langmuir model, which was twice as large as that for nickel. In the binary systems, the adsorption capacity for nickel was decreased by 45%, indicating direct competition for the active sites. The infinite separation factor for copper versus nickel exceeded 300, revealing the feasibility of preparing5N-level high-purity nickel solutions, which was further verified using the 800 BV(bed volume) effluent in the column dynamic process.According to the cost–benefit analysis, purification contributed to a profit of approximately 60,000 USD per cycle, and the investment return period was less than 1/3 years. Density functional theory analysis confirmed that four nitrogen atoms would be involved in the coordination complex and thus a structure involving two five-membered rings could be achieved. | 17 | Baseline radiologic features as predictors of efficacy in patients with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors with liver metastases receiving surufatinib显示文摘Objective:Currently,pre-treatment prediction of patients with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors with liver metastases(PNELM)receiving surufatinib treatment was unsatisfying.Our objective was to examine the association between radiological characteristics and efficacy/prognosis.Methods:We enrolled patients with liver metastases in the phase III,SANET-p trial(NCT02589821)and obtained contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CECT)images.Qualitative and quantitative parameters including hepatic tumor margins,lesion volumes,enhancement pattern,localization types,and enhancement ratios were evaluated.The progression-free survival(PFS)and hazard ratio(HR)were calculated using Cox’s proportional hazard model.Efficacy was analyzed by logistic-regression models.Results:Among 152 patients who had baseline CECT assessments and were included in this analysis,the surufatinib group showed statistically superior efficacy in terms of median PFS compared to placebo across various qualitative and quantitative parameters.In the multivariable analysis of patients receiving surufatinib(N=100),those with higher arterial phase standardized enhancement ratio-peri-lesion(ASER-peri)exhibited longer PFS[HR=0.039;95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.003−0.483;P=0.012].Furthermore,patients with a high enhancement pattern experienced an improvement in the objective response ratio[31.3%vs.14.7%,odds ratio(OR)=3.488;95%CI:1.024−11.875;P=0.046],and well-defined tumor margins were associated with a higher disease control rate(DCR)(89.3%vs.68.2%,OR=4.535;95%CI:1.285−16.011;P=0.019)compared to poorlydefined margins.Conclusions:These pre-treatment radiological features,namely high ASER-peri,high enhancement pattern,and well-defined tumor margins,have the potential to serve as predictive markers of efficacy in patients with PNELM receiving surufatinib. | Jianwei Zhang Haibin Zhu Lin Shen Jie Li Xiaoyan Zhang Chunmei Bai Zhiwei Zhou Xianrui Yu Zhiping Li Enxiao Li Xianglin Yuan Wenhui Lou Yihebali Chi Nong Xu Yongmei Yin Yuxian Bai Tao Zhang Dianrong Xiu Jia Chen Shukui Qin Xiuwen Wang Yujie Yang Haoyun Shi Xian Luo Songhua Fan Weiguo Su Ming Lu Jianming Xu | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2023，35，5： | 0 |

| 19 | Molecular mechanism and promising treatments of chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome:An exploratory bibliometric analysis and literature review of preclinical studies显示文摘Background:As one of the most common diseases in urology,a large number of preclinical studies have been accumulated to explore the etiological mechanism and potential intervention of chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome(CP/CPPS).Methods:In this study,we systematically evaluated the current status of preclinical research on CP/CPPS through bibliometrics analysis using VOSviewer and Citespace.Characteristics of publication such as year,country/region,institution,author,journal,citation,and keywords were analyzed.Based on the bibliometrics analysis results of keywords,we summarized the possible mechanisms and promising treatments for CP/CPPS narratively.Results:According to the results of this study,the most common mechanisms involved in CP/CPPS were as follows:Disturbed immune and inflammation mediators,immune cell dysfunction,oxidative stress,dysregulated signaling pathways,apoptosis,gut microbiota,and testosterone metabolism.Traditional Chinese Medicine and extracorporeal shock wave therapy have important potential in the treatment of CP/CPPS.Conclusion:Further translational studies targeting the above mechanisms and validating the objective efficacy of potential treatments indicated by preclinical studies in clinical patients are needed in the future. | Yongfeng Lao Xin Guan Jian Wang Yanan Bai Zewen Li Zhiping Wang Zhilong Dong | 2023 | UroPrecision2023，1，4： | 0 |
