1A rapid advice guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV) infected pneumonia(standard version)显示文摘In December 2019, a new type viral pneumonia cases occurred in Wuhan, Hubei Province;and then named '2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)' by the World Health Organization(WHO) on 12 January 2020. For it is a never been experienced respiratory disease before and with infection ability widely and quickly, it attracted the world’s attention but without treatment and control manual. For the request from frontline clinicians and public health professionals of 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia management, an evidence-based guideline urgently needs to be developed. Therefore, we drafted this guideline according to the rapid advice guidelines methodology and general rules of WHO guideline development;we also added the first-hand management data of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. This guideline includes the guideline methodology, epidemiological characteristics, disease screening and population prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control(including traditional Chinese Medicine), nosocomial infection prevention and control, and disease nursing of the 2019-nCoV. Moreover, we also provide a whole process of a successful treatment case of the severe 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia and experience and lessons of hospital rescue for 2019-nCoV infections. 5The HuangZaoSi Maize Genome Provides Insights into Genomic Variation and Improvement History of Maize显示文摘Maize is a globally important crop that was a classic model plant for genetic studies. Here, we report a 2.2 Gb draft genome sequence of an elite maize line, HuangZaoSi (HZS). Hybrids bred from HZS-improved lines (HILs) are planted in more than 60% of maize fields in China. Proteome clustering of six completed sequeneed maize genomes show that 638 proteins fall into 264 HZS-specific gene families with the majority of contributions from tandem duplication events. Resequencing and comparative analysis of 40 HZSrelated lines reveals the breeding history of HILs. More than 60% of identified selective sweeps were clustered in identity.by.descent conserved regions, and yield-related genes/QTLs were enriched in HZS characteristic selected regions. Furthermore, we dem on strated that HZS-specific family genes were not uniformly distributed in the genome but enriched in improvement/function.related genomic regions. 7Genotypic Characterization of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus Isolated from Pigs and Retail Foods in China显示文摘Objective To investigate the genotypic diversity of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) isolated from pigs and retail foods from different geographical areas in China and further to study the routes and rates of transmission of this pathogen from animals to food. Methods Seventy-one MRSA isolates were obtained from pigs and retail foods and then characterized by multi-locus sequencing typing(MLST), spa typing, multiple-locus variable number of tandem repeat analysis(MLVA), pulsed-field gel electrophoresis(PFGE), and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Results All isolated MRSA exhibited multi-drug resistance(MDR). Greater diversity was found in food-associated MRSA(7 STs, 8 spa types, and 10 MLVA patterns) compared to pig-associated MRSA(3 STs, 1 spa type, and 6 MLVA patterns). PFGE patterns were more diverse for pig-associated MRSA than those of food-associated isolates(40 vs. 11 pulse types). Among the pig-associated isolates, CC9-ST9-t899-MC2236 was the most prevalent clone(96.4%), and CC9-ST9-t437-MC621(20.0%) was the predominant clone among the food-associated isolates. The CC9-ST9 isolates showed significantly higher antimicrobial resistance than other clones. Interestingly, CC398-ST398-t034 clone was identified from both pig-and food-associated isolates. Of note, some community-and hospital-associated MRSA strains(t030, t172, t1244, and t4549) were also identified as food-associated isolates. Conclusion CC9-ST9-t899-MC2236-MDR was the most predominant clone in pigs, but significant genetic diversity was observed in food-associated MRSA. 8Handgrip Strength as a Predictor of Nutritional Status in Chinese Elderly Inpatients at Hospital Admission显示文摘Objective To assess nutritional status and define gender-and age-specific handgrip strength(HGS) cut-point values for malnutrition or nutritional risk in elderly inpatients. Methods A cross-sectional study of 1,343 elderly inpatients was conducted in the Chinese PLA General Hospital. Nutrition Risk Screening(NRS 2002) and Subjective Global Assessment(SGA) were administered. Anthropometric measurements and blood biochemical indicators were obtained using standard techniques. The gender-and age-specific receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curves were constructed to evaluate the HGS for nutritional status by SGA and NRS 2002. Sensitivity, specificity, and areas under the curves(AUCs) were calculated. Results According to NRS 2002 and SGA, 63.81% of elderly inpatients were at nutritional risk and 28.22% were malnourished. Patients with higher HGS had an independently decreased risk of malnutrition and nutritional risk. The AUCs varied between 0.670 and 0.761. According to NRS 2002, the optimal HGS cut-points were 27.5 kg(65-74 years) and 21.0 kg(75-90 years) for men and 17.0 kg(65-74 years) and 14.6 kg(75-90 years) for women. According to SGA, the optimal HGS cut-points were 24.9 kg(65-74 years) and 20.8 kg(75-90 years) for men and 15.2 kg(65-74 years) and 13.5 kg(75-90 years) for women. Conclusion Elderly inpatients had increased incidence of malnutrition or nutritional risk. 10Psychophysiological Effects of Bamboo Plants on Adults显示文摘The present study was conducted to clarify the psychophysiological relaxation effects of viewing bamboo on university students. Forty healthy Chinese participants enrolled in this study to clarify the psychophysiological relaxation effects of viewing bamboo. The effects of visual stimulation using a pot both with and without a bamboo were recorded by measuring the student's blood pressure, EEG and STAI. We observed that viewing bamboo plants resulted in significantly lower systolic(female, P < 0.001; male, P < 0.001; P < 0.05) and diastolic(female,P < 0.001; male, P < 0.001; P < 0.05) blood pressures, but no changes in the pulse rate(female, P = 0.09; male, P = 0.07; P > 0.05) were observed. The results of the EEG analysis indicated brainwave variation(all P < 0.05) and lower anxiety scores(P < 0.01) after 3 min of viewing bamboo compared with the control. 12Validity of the Chinese Version of the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) in Lung Cancer Patients显示文摘The prevalence of malnutrition is high among oncology patients in China. Although the Patient- Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is widely recognized as an important nutritional assessment tool, it has not been validated for Chinese cancer patients. The purpose of this study was to conduct an analysis of nutrition screening and assessment data to validate the Chinese version of the PG-SGA in Chinese patients with lung cancer. This was an observational, cross-sectional study of 2,000 consecutive adult patients with lung cancer treated at several tertiary hospitals in China. Anthropometric and patient descriptive data were collected. The PG-SGA generated a score for the nutritional risk and a global rating for the nutritional status. The internal consistency, external consistency, and construct validity were evaluated, and a known-groups comparison and principal component analyses were conducted to evaluate the reliability and validity of the PG-SGA. The known-groups comparison demonstrated the ability of the PG-SGA to differentiate lung cancer patients of different nutritional and body mass index (BMI) groups. A confirmatory factor analysis supported the original four-factor structure of the PG-SGA. In terms of the internal and external consistency, the PG-SGA demonstrated intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC) up to 0.987. Alternative form validity was also demonstrated between Box 4 of the PG-SGA and the Karnofsky Performance Status score, with excellent external consistency (r = 0.972, P < 0.001). The construct validity was supported, and selected questionnaire dimensions were evident in the principal component analysis. Significant Spearman correlations (P < 0.001) were demonstrated. The Chinese version of the PG-SGA demonstrated significant reliability and sufficient exploratory properties to support its validity. It seems to be a valid tool that can be used to access the nutritional status of Chinese lung cancer patients. 13Comparison of Histological, Microbiological, and Molecular Methods in Diagnosis of Patients with TBLN Having Different Anti-TB Treatment Background显示文摘Objective The influence of anti-tuberculosis(TB) treatment history on tuberculous lymphadenitis(TBLN) diagnosis is unclear. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the diagnostic methods, including histology, microbiology, and molecular tests, used for TBLN. Methods In this study, suspected patients with TBLN and having different anti-TB treatment background were enrolled. All the samples were tested simultaneously by histology, Ziehl-Neelsen(ZN) staining, mycobacterial culture(culture), Xpert MTB/RIF(xpert), real-time PCR, and high-resolution melting curve PCR(HRM). Thereafter, the performance of these methods on samples with different anti-TB treatment background was assessed. Results In our study, 89 patients were prospectively included 82 patients with TBLN and 7 with other diseases. The overall sensitivities of Xpert, real-time PCR, histology, ZN staining, and culture were 86.6%, 69.5%, 58.5%, 43.9%, and 22.0%, respectively. The anti-TB treatment history revealed dramatic influences on the sensitivity of culture(P < 0.0001). In fact, the treatment that lasted over 3 months also influenced the sensitivity of Xpert(P < 0.05). However, the treatment history did not affect the performance of remaining tests(P > 0.05). For rifampicin drug susceptibility test(DST), the anti-TB treatment showed only significant influence on the success rate of culture DST(P = 0.001), but not on those of Xpert and HRM tests(P > 0.05). 15Validity of the Chinese Version of the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) in Gastric Cancer Patients显示文摘Purpose Malnutrition is severe among gastric cancer patients in China. While the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is a widely used nutritional assessment tool, the validation for Chinese patients with gastric cancer has not been performed yet. The aim of this research is to validate the Chinese version of the PGSGA in Chinese gastric cancer patients by conducting analyses of nutrition screening and assessment data. Methods Two thousand consecutive adult patients with gastric cancer were included in this observational, cross-sectional study in several tertiary hospitals in China. A survey was made among those patients, which included several questionnaires and some anthropometric parameters. We calculated the parameters to validate the use of PG-SGA categorizing the nutritional status of gastric cancer patients. Then we performed statistical analysis to evaluate the internal consistency, external consistency, and construct validity. Results This study verified the ability of the PG-SGA to differentiate gastric cancer patients into different nutritional groups. The confirmatory factor analysis verified the original four-factor structure of the PG-SGA. The internal and external consistency was measured by a concordance analysis which showed an intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) of 0.987. The correlations of the Box 4 score with the Karnofsky performance status score demonstrated alternative form validity with good external consistency (Pearson, r = 0.643, P < 0.001). 18Effects of electroacupuncture on astrocytes in the marginal zone of focal cerebral ischemia in rats显示文摘BACKGROUND:Astrocytes react sensitively to cerebral ischemia,causing reactive proliferation and activation,which may contribute to their effect in protecting or injuring neuronal regeneration. Whether acupuncture,as a treatment for cerebral ischemia,regulates the activated state of astrocytes has become a focus of recent investigations. OBJECTIVE:To observe the effects of electroacupuncture(EA) on ultrastructure changes and reactive proliferation of astrocytes in the marginal zone of focal cerebral ischemia in rats. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:Randomized,controlled animal study.This study was performed at the Experimental Animal Center of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between December 2007 and July 2008. MATERIALS:A total of 90 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham operated,model and EA groups.Each group was subdivided into 1 hour,1,3,7,and 21 days post-cerebral ischemia groups,with six animals for each time point.Rabbit anti-rat glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and goat anti-rabbit IgG/tetramethylrhodamine isothiocyanate were provided by Beijing Biosynthesis Biotechnology.The G-6805 electric acupuncture apparatus was provided by Shanghai Huayi. METHODS:Heat-coagulation-induced occlusion of the middle cerebral artery was performed to establish a model of focal cerebral ischemia,in the model and EA groups.Middle cerebral arteries were exposed without occlusion in sham operated group.EA was applied immediately after surgery in the EA group,4/20 Hz,2.0-3.0 V,1-3 mA,to Baihui(GV 20) and Dazhui(GV 14),for 30 minutes.The treatment was performed once a day.The sham operated and model groups did not receive acupuncture. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:In the marginal zone of focal cerebral ischemia in rats at different time points after intervention,the ultrastructure changes of astrocytes were observed by using transmission electronic microscopy.GFAP expression in astrocytes was also measured by laser confocal scanning microscopy. RESULTS:Cell swelling and rapid proliferation of astrocytes were observed following cerebral ischemia.In comparison to the model group,the degree of swelling of astrocytes was significantly decreased in the EA group.Compared with the sham operated group at hour 1 post-surgery,there was no significant difference in the expression of average fluorescence intensity of GFAP between the EA and model groups(P>0.05),while the expression of GFAP in both the EA and model groups increased significantly at days 1,3,7 and 21 post-surgery(P<0.01).The expression of GFAP in EA group was also significantly lower than in the model group(P<0.01,P<0.05). 19Interferon-induced Transmembrane Protein 3 Prevents Acute Influenza Pathogenesis in Mice显示文摘Objective Interferon-induced transmembrane protein 3(IFITM3)is an important member of the IFITM family.However,the molecular mechanisms underlying its antiviral action have not been completely elucidated.Recent studies on IFITM3,particularly those focused on innate antiviral defense mechanisms,have shown that IFITM3 affects the body’s adaptive immune response.The aim of this study was to determine the contribution of IFITM3 proteins to immune control of influenza infection in vivo.Methods We performed proteomics,flow cytometry,and immunohistochemistry analysis and used bioinformatics tools to systematically compare and analyze the differences in natural killer(NK)cell numbers,their activation,and their immune function in the lungs of Ifitm3-/-and wild-type mice.Results Ifitm3-/-mice developed more severe inflammation and apoptotic responses compared to wild-type mice.Moreover,the NK cell activation was higher in the lungs of Ifitm3-/-mice during acute influenza infection.Conclusions Based on our results,we speculate that the NK cells are more readily activated in the absence of IFITM3,increasing mortality in Ifitm3-/-mice.SUN Qiang LEI Na LU Jian GAO Rong Bao LI Zi LIU Li Qi SUN Ying GUO Jun Feng WANG Da Yan SHU Yue Long 2020Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2020,33,5:4
20Biogenic C-doped titania templated by cyanobacteria for visible-light photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B显示文摘Cyanobacteria, which occurred in eutrophic water harvest solar light to carry out photosynthesis with high efficiency. In this work, cyanobacteria(Microcystis sp.) were used as biotemplate to synthesize titania structure. The synthesized titania sample had similar morphology to that of the original template in spite of the fragile unicellular structures and extremely high water content of cyanobacterial cells. Incorporation of biogenic C, as well as the morphology inherited from biotemplate improved visiblelight absorbance of the titania structure. The sample exhibited higher visible-light photocatalytic activity than commercial titania photocatalyst Degussa P25 for Rhodamine B(RhB) degradation. Compared with those C-doped titania photocatalysts prepared by other methods, cyanobacteria templated titania photocatalyst offer some potential for competitive advantages. The reported strategy opened up a new use for the cyanobacteria.
