2A potential-driven switch of activity promotion mode for the oxygen evolution reaction at Co_(3)O_(4)/NiO_(x)H_(y) interface显示文摘Co_(3)O_(4)spinel oxides have manifested promising activity toward the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)through effective modifications.For them to become top electrocatalysts,however,accurate accounts of the catalytic kinetics are essential to gain a deep understanding of the activity promotion mechanisms.Herein,we use a newly proposed kinetic model based on energetic span as the rate-determining term for the electrocatalytic reaction to throw light on the promotion mechanism of Co_(3)O_(4)interfaced with nickel hydroxides(NiO_(x)H_(y))for the OER.We find that depending on the electrode potential,the OER kinetics at the designed interface between Co_(3)O_(4)and NiO_(x)H_(y)are boosted in entirely different ways.As a result,the OER can occur at a lower onset potential as well as a low Tafel slope.This work emphasizes the benefit of using rational theoretical models for electrocatalyst design.Wang Wang Zixu Wang Youcheng Hu Yucheng Liu Shengli Chen 2022eScience2022,2,4:2
3Public-transcriptome-database-assisted selection and validation of reliable reference genes for qRT-PCR in rice显示文摘Accurate quantitative reverse transcription PCR(q RT-PCR)requires reliable reference genes whose expression does not vary in different tissues and developmental stages.However,few reliable reference genes are available for q RT-PCR in rice(Oryza sativa).Here,we established an effective strategy for identifying novel reference genes(NRGs)for reliable normalization of q RT-PCR data in various rice organs and developmental stages.We selected candidate NRGs using the Information Commons for Rice Database and confirmed their expression in Rice Expression Profile Database(Rice XPro)data.Genes with low variation(<2.5 cycle quantification)across tissues and developmental stages,and little fluctuation in expression in heatmaps from Rice XPro data were considered stable NRGs.To validate this strategy,we selected 11 candidate NRGs and calculated their expression stability in different spatio-temporal conditions using five programs,and compared these genes with five established reference genes(ERGs).Only one of the ERGs(UBQ5)was reliable and 10 of the candidate NRGs were more stable than the four remaining ERGs.Therefore,public transcriptomic databases are useful for identifying NRGs.We selected two NRGs,UFC1(Homolog of UFM1-Conjugating Enzyme 1)and Fha B(Homolog of Adhesin Fha B)for q RT-PCR analysis in rice;their homologs might be suitable for other monocot plants.Zhe Zhao Zixu Zhang Zhi Ding Hengjun Meng Rongxin Shen Huiwu Tang Yao-Guang Liu Letian Chen 2020Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,1:2
4Ni3S2 nanorods growing directly on Ni foam for all-solid-state asymmetric supercapacitor and efficient overall water splitting显示文摘Transition metal compounds are attractive for their significant applications in supercapacitors and as non-noble metal catalysts for electrochemical water splitting.Herein,we develop Ni3 S2 nanorods growing directly on Ni foam,which act as multifunctional additive-free Ni3 S2@Ni electrode for supercapacitor and overall water splitting.Based on PVA-KOH gel electrolyte,the assembled all-solid-state Ni3 S2@Ni//AC asymmetric supercapacitor delivers a high areal energy density of 0.52 mWh cm^-2 at an areal power density of 9.02 MW cm^-2,and exhibits an excellent cycling stability with a capacitance retention ratio of 89%after 10000 GCD cycles at a current density of 30 mA cm^-2.For hydrogen evolution reaction and oxygen evolution reaction in 1 M KOH,Ni3 S2@Ni electrode achieves a benchmark of 10 mA cm^-2at overpotentials of 82 mV and 310 mV,respectively.Furthermore,the assembled Ni3 S2@Ni‖Ni3 S2@Ni electrolyzer for overall water splitting attains a current density of 10 mA cm^-2 at 1.61 V.The in-situ synthesis of Ni3 S2@Ni electrode enriches the applications of additive-free transition metal compounds in high-performance energy storage devices and efficient electrocatalysis.Baoxin Wu Hao Qian Zhongwu Nie Zhongping Luo Zixu Wu Peng Liu Hao He Jianghong Wu Shuguang Chen Feifei Zhang 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,7:2

7OsEDM2L mediates m^(6)A of EAT1 transcript for proper alternative splicing and polyadenylation regulating rice tapetal degradation显示文摘N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A) modification affects the post-transcriptional regulation of eukaryotic gene expression, but the underlying mechanisms and their effects in plants remain largely unknown. Here,we report that the N^(6)-adenine methyltransferase-like domain-containing protein ENHANCED DOWNY MILDEW 2-LIKE(OsEDM2 L) is essential for rice(Oryza sativa L.) anther development. The osedm2 l knockout mutant showed delayed tapetal programmed cell death(PCD) and defective pollen development. OsEDM2 L interacts with the transcription factors basic helix-loop-helix 142 and TAPETUMDEGENERATIONRETARDATIONto regulate the expression of ETERNAL TAPETUM 1(EAT1), a positive regulator of tapetal PCD. Mutation of OsEDM2 L altered the transcriptomic m^(6)A landscape, and caused a distinct m^(6)A modification of the EAT1 transcript leading to dysregulation of its alternative splicing and polyadenylation, followed by suppression of the EAT1 target genes OsAP25 and OsAP37 for tapetal PCD. 8External rectal prolapse:abdominal or perineal repair for men?A retrospective cohort study显示文摘Background:External rectal prolapse is a relatively rare disease,in which male patients account for a minority.The selection of abdominal repair or perineal repair for male patients has rarely been investigated.Methods:Fifty-one male patients receiving abdominal repair(laparoscopic ventral rectopexy)or perineal repair(Delorme or Altemeier procedures)at the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University(Guangzhou,China)between March 2013 and September 2019 were retrospectively analysed.We compared the recurrence,complication rate,post-operative defecation disorder,length of stay,and quality of life between the abdominal and perineal groups.Results:Of the 51 patients,45 had a complete follow-up,with a median of 48.5 months(range,22.8–101.8 months).A total of 35 patients were under age 40 years.The complication rate associated with abdominal repair was less than that associated with perineal repair(0%vs 20.7%,P=0.031)and the recurrence rate was also lower(9.5%vs 41.7%,P=0.018).Multivariate analysis showed that perineal repair(odds ratio,9.827;95%confidence interval,1.296–74.50;P=0.027)might be a risk factor for recurrence.Moreover,only perineal repair significantly improved post-operative constipation status(preoperative vs post-operative,72.4%vs 25.0%,P=0.001).There was no reported mortality in either of the groups.No patient’s sexual function was affected by the surgery.Conclusions:Both surgical approaches were safe in men.Compared with perineal repair,the complication rate and recurrence rate for abdominal repair were lower.However,perineal repair was better able to correct constipation.Bang Hu Qi Zou Zhenyu Xian Dan Su Chao Liu Li Lu Minyi Luo Zixu Chen Keyu Cai Han Gao Hui Peng Wuteng Cao Donglin Ren 2022Gastroenterology Report2022,10,1:0

10Lithium-storage properties of SiO_(2)nanotubes@C using carbon nanotubes as templates显示文摘Silica-based anode material is the most concerned material at present,which has the advantages of good cycle stability,high theoretical specific capacity and abundant reserves.However,silica suffers from inherent low conductivity,severe volume expansion effect and low initial coulombic efficiency,which limits its application in lithium-ion batteries.Nanotubes structure can mitigate the volume expansion during lithiation/delithiation.In this article,silica nanotubes(SNTs)were prepared using carbon nanotubes(CNTs)as a template,and then the uniform carbon layer was coated on their surface by carbonization of citric acid.The hollow structure of nanotubes provides more sites for the insertion of Li+during lithiation and additional channels for Li+migration in the cycles,which improves the electrochemical performance.Conductivity can be enhanced by coating carbon layer.The specific capacity of the composite material is about 650 mAh g^(-1)at 0.1 A g^(-1)after 100 cycles.With a specific capacity of 400 mAh g^(-1)even at 1 A g^(-1)after 100 cycles.The silica-based material is a competitive anode material for lithium-ion batteries.Zixu Shi Chaoyun Shi Huili Shi Binfang He Guoqiang Qin Ao Li Jing Zhu Jingbo Chen 2023Particuology2023,,12:0
11Durable semi-crystalline interphase engineering to stabilize high voltage Ni-rich cathode in dilute ether electrolyte显示文摘Ethers are promising electrolyte solvents for secondary Li metal batteries because of their excellent reduction stability.However,their oxidation stability has been mostly relying on the high concentration approach,and limited progress has been made on building effective interphase to protect the cathode from the corrosion of the electrolyte.In this work,we construct a semi-crystalline interfacial layer on the surface of Li(Ni_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1))O_(2)cathode that can achieve improved electrochemical stability in the highly corrosive chemical environment formed by the decomposition of ether molecules.Different from traditional brittle crystalline interphases,the optimized semi-crystalline layer with low modulus and high ionic conductivity can effectively relieve electrode strain and maintain the integrity of the interface layer.Due to this design,the continuous oxidation decomposition of ether-based electrolytes could be significantly suppressed and the battery shows outstanding cycling stability(84%capacity retention after 300 cycles).This article provides a solution to address the oxidation instability issue of ether-based electrolytes.Zhuangzhuang Cui Shunqiang Chen Qingshun Nian Yecheng Li Yawei Chen Bing-Qing Xiong Zihong Wang Zixu He Shuhong Jiao Xiaodi Ren 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,4:0
12Effects of Different Concentrations of Homologous Probiotics on Small Intestinal Structure of 21-day-old Broilers显示文摘This test was conducted to study the effects of different doses of homologous probiotics on intestinal mucosa structure of 21-day-old broilers. A total of1 500 one-day-old AA broilers with similar weight were randomly divided into five groups,with 10 replicates in each group and 30 broilers( half males and half females) in each replicate. The broilers were fed with the diets containing five kinds of different doses of homologous probiotics. The broilers ate and drank freely during the test. The test lasted for 21 days. Histological and histochemical methods were taken to measure villi length,mucosal thickness,wall thickness and the ratio of villi length to crypt depth( V / C) of duodenum,jejunum and ileum of the 21-day-old broilers. The results showed that,the effects of 0. 3% homologous probiotics on the intestinal mucosal structrue of 21-day-old broilers were the best,and values of villi length,V / C,mucosal thickness and intestinal wall thickness in the 0. 3% homologous probiotics group reached the maximum. 14Effects of Estrogen on Mucosal Structure and Numbers and Distribution of Intraepithelial Lymphocytes and Goblet Cells in Small Intestine of Rats显示文摘To study the effects of estrogen on the structure of the intestinal mucosal barrier, 18 healthy female Wistar Rats underwent estrus synchronization. In diestrus, they were divided into three groups: one sham operated control group (SHAM); one ovariectomized group (OVX); and one ovariectomized plus estradiol benzoate group (OVX+E2). Intestinal mucosal epithelial cells, intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL), and goblet cells (GCs) were observed by light microscope. The results showed that in the OVX group, the intestinal mucosa damaged obviously, the villus atrophied, the ratio of villus height to crypt depth reduced, and the number of IELs and GCs reduced. The indicators of OVX+E2 group were significantly higher than OVX group, but some indicators were lower than SHAM.
