1Humoral immune response to circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants elicited by inactivated and RBD-subunit vaccines显示文摘SARS-CoV-2 variants could induce immune escape by mutations on the receptor-binding domain(RBD)and N-terminal domain(NTD).Here we report the humoral immune response to circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants,such as 501Y.V2(B.1.351),of the plasma and neutralizing antibodies(NAbs)elicited by CoronaVac(inactivated vaccine),ZF2001(RBD-subunit vaccine)and natural infection.Among 86 potent NAbs identified by high-throughput single-cell VDJ sequencing of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from vaccinees and convalescents,near half anti-RBD NAbs showed major neutralization reductions against the K417N/E484K/N501Y mutation combination,with E484K being the dominant cause.VH3-53/VH3-66 recurrent antibodies respond differently to RBD variants,and K417N compromises the majority of neutralizing activity through reduced polar contacts with complementarity determining regions.In contrast,the 242–244 deletion(242–244Δ)would abolish most neutralization activity of anti-NTD NAbs by interrupting the conformation of NTD antigenic supersite,indicating a much less diversity of anti-NTD NAbs than anti-RBD NAbs.Plasma of convalescents and CoronaVac vaccinees displayed comparable neutralization reductions against pseudo-and authentic 501Y.V2 variants,mainly caused by E484K/N501Y and 242–244Δ,with the effects being additive.Importantly,RBD-subunit vaccinees exhibit markedly higher tolerance to 501Y.V2 than convalescents,since the elicited anti-RBD NAbs display a high diversity and are unaffected by NTD mutations.Moreover,an extended gap between the third and second doses of ZF2001 leads to better neutralizing activity and tolerance to 501Y.V2 than the standard three-dose administration.Together,these results suggest that the deployment of RBD-vaccines,through a third-dose boost,may be ideal for combating SARS-CoV-2 variants when necessary,especially for those carrying mutations that disrupt the NTD supersite.Yunlong Cao Ayijiang Yisimayi Yali Bai Weijin Huang Xiaofeng Li Zhiying Zhang Tianjiao Yuan Ran An Jing Wang Tianhe Xiao Shuo Du Wenping Ma Liyang Song Yongzheng Li Xiang Li Weiliang Song Jiajing Wu Shuo Liu Xuemei Li Yonghong Zhang Bin Su Xianghua Guo Yangyang Wei Chuanping Gao Nana Zhang Yifei Zhang Yang Dou Xiaoyu Xu Rui Shi Bai Lu Ronghua Jin Yingmin Ma Chengfeng Qin Youchun Wang Yingmei Feng Junyu Xiao Xiaoliang Sunney Xie 2021Cell Research2021,31,7:12
2Compressed sensing SAR imaging based on sparse representation in fractional Fourier domain显示文摘Compressed sensing(CS)is a new technique of utilizing a priori knowledge on sparsity of data in a certain domain for minimizing necessary number of measurements.Based on this idea,this paper proposes a novel synthetic aperture radar(SAR)imaging approach by exploiting sparseness of echo data in the fractional Fourier domain.The effectiveness and robustness of the approach are assessed by some numerical experiments under various noisy conditions and different measurement matrices.Experimental results have shown that,the obtained images by using the CS technique depend on measurement matrix and have higher output signal to noise ratio than traditional pulse compression technique.Finally simulated and real data are also processed and the achieved results show that the proposed approach is capable of reconstructing the image of targets and effectively suppressing noise.BU HongXia BAI Xia TAO Ran 2012Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,8:12

4Efficient one-pot synthesis of n-butyl levulinate from carbohydrates catalyzed by Fe_2(SO_4)_3显示文摘Butyl levulinate(BL) is a promising new candidate as diesel fuel and fuel additive. In this study, an efficient process for a one-pot synthesis of BL from biomass-derived carbohydrates in butanol medium with the catalysis of metal sulfates was developed. The catalytic activity of a series of metal sulfates for the synthesis of BL from fructose was investigated. Among various metal sulfates, ferric sulfate Fe_2(SO_4)_3 was found to be the most efficient catalyst, which gave a remarkably high BL yield of 62.8 mol% under the conditions of 463 K, 3 h, a catalyst dosage of 5.0 g/L, and fructose concentration of 25 g/L. Different carbohydrates including glucose, cellulose, inulin and sucrose were also used for one-pot synthesis of BL with the catalysis of Fe_2(SO_4)_3, showing the yields of 39.6, 30.5, 56.6 and 50.1 mol%, respectively. In addition,the recycling and reuse of Fe_2(SO_4)_3 was studied by characterizing them using powder X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscope(SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). A plausible reaction pathway for the one-pot synthesis of BL from fructose was proposed. 5Regression model to estimate flood impact on corn yield using MODIS NDVI and USDA cropland data layer显示文摘Flood events and their impact on crops are extremely significant scientific research issues; however,flood monitoring is an exceedingly complicated process. Flood damages on crops are directly related to yield change,which requires accurate assessment to quantify the damages. Various remote sensing products and indices have been used in the past for this purpose. This paper utilizes the moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer(MODIS) weekly normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI) product to detect and further quantify flood damages on corn within the major corn producing states in the Midwest region of the US. County-level analyses were performed by taking weighted average of all pure corn pixels(>90%) masked by the United States Department of Agriculture(USDA) Cropland Data Layer(CDL). The NDVI-based time-series difference between flood years and normal year(median of years 2000–2014) was used to detect flood occurrences. To further measure the impact of the flood on corn yield,regression analysis between change in NDVI and change in corn yield as independent and dependent variables respectively was performed for 30 different flooding events within growing seasons of the corn. With the R2 value of 0.85,the model indicates statistically significant linear relation between the NDVI and corn yield. Testing the predictability of the model with 10 new cases,the average relative error of the model was only 4.47%. Furthermore,small error(4.8%) of leave-one-out cross validation(LOOCV) along with smaller statistical error indicators(root mean square error(RMSE),mean absolute error(MAE),and mean bias error(MBE)),further validated the accuracy of the model. Utilizing the linear regression approach,change in NDVI during the growing season of corn appeared to be a good indicator to quantify the yield loss due to flood. 6Differential gene expression analysis of ‘Chili’ (Pyrus bretschneideri) fruit pericarp with two types of bagging treatments显示文摘Preharvest bagging is a simple,grower-friendly and safe physical protection technique commonly applied to many fruits,and the application of different fruit bags can have various effects.To explore the molecular mechanisms underlying the fruit quality effects of different bagging treatments,digital gene expression(DGE)profiling of bagged and unbagged‘Chili’(Pyrus bretschneideri Rehd.)pear pericarp during development was performed.Relative to unbagged fruit,a total of 3022 and 769 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were detected in the polyethylene(PE)-bagged and non-woven fabric-bagged fruit,respectively.DEGs annotated as photosynthesis-antenna proteins and photosynthesis metabolism pathway were upregulated in non-woven fabric-bagged fruit but downregulated in the PE-bagged fruit.Non-woven fabric bagging inhibited lignin synthesis in‘Chili’pear pericarp by downregulating DEGs involved in phenylpropanoid biosynthesis;consequently,the fruit lenticels in non-woven fabric-bagged fruit were smaller than those in the other treatments.The results indicate that the non-woven fabric bagging method has a positive effect on the appearance of‘Chili’pear fruit but neither of the two bagging treatments is conducive to the accumulation of soluble sugar.Yuling Wang Xinfu Zhang Ran Wang Yingxin Bai Chenglian Liu Yongbing Yuan Yingjie Yang Shaolan Yang 2017Horticulture Research2017,4,1:6

8Ultrathin 2D Metal–Organic Framework Nanosheets In situ Interpenetrated by Functional CNTs for Hybrid Energy Storage Device显示文摘The controllable construction of two-dimensional(2D)metal–organic framework(MOF)nanosheets with favorable electrochemical performances is greatly challenging for energy storage.Here,we design an in situ induced growth strategy to construct the ultrathin carboxylated carbon nanotubes(C-CNTs)interpenetrated nickel MOF(Ni-MOF/C-CNTs)nanosheets.The deliberate thickness and specific surface area of novel 2D hybrid nanosheets can be effectively tuned via finely controlling C-CNTs involvement.Due to the unique microstructure,the integrated 2D hybrid nanosheets are endowed with plentiful electroactive sites to promote the electrochemical performances greatly.The prepared Ni-MOF/C-CNTs nanosheets exhibit superior specific capacity of 680 C g^−1 at 1 A g^−1 and good capacity retention.The assembled hybrid device demonstrated the maximum energy density of 44.4 Wh kg^−1 at a power density of 440 W kg^−1.Our novel strategy to construct ultrathin 2D MOF with unique properties can be extended to synthesize various MOF-based functional materials for diverse applications.Feitian Ran Xueqing Xu Duo Pan Yuyan Liu Yongping Bai Lu Shao 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,4:5

10Etching approach to hybrid structures of PtPd nanocages and graphene for efficient oxygen reduction reaction catalysts显示文摘Cathodic oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is a highly important electrochemical reaction in renewable-energy technologies. In general, the surface area, exposed facets and electrical conductivity of catalysts all play important roles in determining their electrocatalytic activities, while their performance durability can be improved by integration with supporting materials. In this work we have developed a method to synthesize hybrid structures between PtPd bimetallic nanocages and graphene by employing selective epitaxial growth of single-crystal Pt shells on Pd nanocubes supported on reduced graphene oxide (rGO), followed by Pd etching. The hollow nature, {100} surface facets and bimetallic composition of PtPd nanocages, together with the good conductivity and stability of graphene, enable high electrocatalytic performance in ORR. 11Improved RIP-based performance guarantees for multipath matching pursuit显示文摘The multipath matching pursuit(MMP) is a generalization of the orthogonal matching pursuit(OMP), which generates multiple child paths for every candidate in each iteration and selects the candidate having the minimal residual as the final support set when iteration ends. In this paper we analyze its performance in both noiseless and noisy cases. The restricted isometry property(RIP)-based condition of MMP that ensures accurate recovery of sparse signals in the noiseless case is derived by using a simple technique. The performance guarantees of the MMP for support recovery in noisy cases are also discussed.It is shown that under certain conditions on the RIP and minimum magnitude of nonzero components of the sparse signal, the MMP will exactly recover the true support of the sparse signal in cases of bounded noises and recover the true support with a high probability in the case of Gaussian noise. 12Effect of Trace O Element on High-temperature Wettability Between Ni_3Al Melt and Y_2O_3 Ceramic显示文摘Effect of trace O element on the high-temperature wettability between Ni_3Al scrap melt and Y_2O_3 ceramic at 1873 K is investigated. With the increase in O content in Ni_3Al scrap melt from 6 to 21 ppm, the equilibrium contact angle decreases from 93.3° to 88.9°. The initial surface tension and adhesive work of molten Ni_3Al scrap drop from 3153.5 to 807.4 mN m^(-1) and from 2974.6 to 882.2 mN m^(-1), respectively. The average spreading rate increases from 0.03° s^(-1) to 0.17° s^(-1). The whole wetting processes are divided into four periods. The main driving force for spreading in period(1) is the adsorption and diffusion of active atoms around the interface. Trace O content in Ni_3Al scrap has a significant impact on interfacial reactions which mostly take place in the second stage, and can accelerate the spreading process on Y_2O_3 substrate. 13Fast FOCUSS method based on bi-conjugate gradient and its application to space-time clutter spectrum estimation显示文摘The focal underdetermined system solver(FOCUSS) is a powerful tool for sparse representation in complex underdetermined systems. This paper presents the fast FOCUSS method based on the bi-conjugate gradient(BICG), termed BICG-FOCUSS, to speed up the convergence rate of the original FOCUSS. BICGFOCUSS was specifically designed to reduce the computational complexity of FOCUSS by solving a complex linear equation using the BICG method according to the rank of the weight matrix in FOCUSS. Experimental results show that BICG-FOCUSS is more efficient in terms of computational time than FOCUSS without losing accuracy. Since FOCUSS is an efficient tool for estimating the space-time clutter spectrum in sparse recoverybased space-time adaptive processing(SR-STAP), we propose BICG-FOCUSS to achieve a fast estimation of the space-time clutter spectrum in mono-static array radar and in the mountaintop system. 14Interface Reversible Electric Field Regulated by Amphoteric Charged Protein-Based Coating Toward High-Rate and Robust Zn Anode显示文摘Metallic interface engineering is a promising strategy to stabilize Zn anode via promoting Zn^(2+) uniform deposition.However,strong interactions between the coating and Zn^(2+) and sluggish transport of Zn^(2+) lead to high anodic polarization.Here,we present a bio-inspired silk fibroin(SF)coating with amphoteric charges to construct an interface reversible electric field,which manipulates the transfer kinetics of Zn^(2+) and reduces anodic polarization.The alternating positively and negatively charged surface as a build-in driving force can expedite and homogenize Zn^(2+) flux via the inter-play between the charged coating and adsorbed ions,endowing the Zn-SF anode with low polarization voltage and stable plating/stripping.Experimental analyses with theo-retical calculations suggest that SF can facilitate the desolvation of[Zn(H_(2)O)_(6)]^(2+) and provide nucleation sites for uniform deposition.Consequently,the Zn-SF anode delivers a high-rate performance with low voltage polarization(83 mV at 20 mA cm^(−2)) and excellent stability(1500 h at 1 mA cm^(−2);500 h at 10 mA cm^(−2)),realizing exceptional cumulative capacity of 2.5 Ah cm^(−2).The full cell coupled with Zn_(x)V_(2)O_(5)·nH_(2)O(ZnVO)cathode achieves specific energy of~270.5/150.6 Wh kg^(−1)(at 0.5/10 A g^(−1))with-99.8% Coulombic efficiency and retains~80.3%(at 5.0 A g^(−1))after 3000 cycles.Meihua Zhu Qing Ran Houhou Huang Yunfei Xie Mengxiao Zhong Geyu Lu Fu-Quan Bai Xing-You Lang Xiaoteng Jia Danming Chao 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,12:2

16Phosphate-induced interfacial electronic engineering in VPO_(4)-Ni_(2)P heterostructure for improved electrochemical water oxidation显示文摘Anodic oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is the key bottleneck for water electrolysis technique owing to its sluggish reaction kinetics.Interfacial engineering on the rationally designed heterostructure can regulate the electronic states efficiently for intrinsic activity improvement.Here,we report a co-phosphorization approach to construct a VPO_(4)-Ni_(2)P heterostructure on nickel foam with strongly chemical binding,wherein phosphate acts as electronic modifier for Ni_(2)P electrocatalyst.Profiting from the interfacial interaction,it is uncovered that electron shifts from Ni_(2)P to VPO_(4)to render valence increment in Ni species.Such an electronic manipulation rationalizes the chemical affinities of various oxygen intermediates in OER pathway,giving a substantially reduced energy barrier.As a result,the advanced VPO_(4)-Ni_(2)P heterostructure only requires an overpotential of 289 mV to deliver a high current density of 350 mA/cm^(2)for OER in alkaline electrolyte,together with a Tafel slope as low as 28 mV/dec.This work brings fresh insights into interfacial engineering for advanced electrocatalyst design.Kun Chen Keke Mao Yu Bai Delong Duan Shuangming Chen Chengming Wang Ning Zhang Ran Long Xiaojun Wu Li Song Yujie Xiong 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,1:1
17Effect of Open Porosity of Y2O3 Ceramic on the Apparent Contact Angles and Interactions Between Ti47Al Alloys and Y2O3 Ceramic显示文摘The effect of open porosity of Y_2O_3 ceramic on the apparent contact angle and interaction between molten Ti47 Al alloy and Y_2O_3 ceramic substrates under pure Ar was investigated by using a sessile drop method at 1600 °C. As the open porosity increased from 9.6% to 30.3%, the spreading rate of molten Ti47 Al alloys on Y_2O_3 ceramic substrates reduced from 2.3 to 1.1°/s; meanwhile, the final equilibrium contact angles increased from 55.8° to 63.6°. The microstructure observations revealed that with increasing the open porosity of the Y_2O_3 substrates, the thickness of sand adhesion at the interfaces of the alloy droplets increased from 5.4 to 15.7 lm, and ceramic particles in the alloy matrix increased as well. 20A multi-location joint field observation of the stratosphere and troposphere over the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The unique geographical location and high altitude of the Tibetan Plateau can greatly influence regional weather and climate.In particular, the Asian summer monsoon(ASM) anticyclone circulation system over the Tibetan Plateau is recognized to be a significant transport pathway for water vapor and pollutants to enter the stratosphere. To improve understanding of these physical processes, a multi-location joint atmospheric experiment was performed over the Tibetan Plateau from late July to August in 2018, funded by the fiveyear(2018–2022) STEAM(stratosphere and troposphere exchange experiment during ASM) project, during which multiple platforms/instruments—including long-duration stratospheric balloons, dropsondes, unmanned aerial vehicles, special sounding systems, and ground-based and satellite-borne instruments—will be deployed.
