3Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and other fluorochemicals in viscera and muscle of farmed pigs and chickens in Beijing,China显示文摘Eleven perfluorinated compounds(PFCs) were determined in tissue samples from farmed pigs and chickens(n=143) that were purchased in Beijing in March 2009.The total PFCs mean concentration was the highest in pig liver(3.438 ng g-1 wet weight(ww)),followed by pig kidney(0.508 ng g-1(ww)),pig heart(0.167 ng g-1(ww)),chicken liver(0.098 ng g-1(ww)),chicken heart(0.050 ng g-1(ww)),pork loin(0.018 ng g-1(ww)),and chicken breast(0.012 ng g-1(ww)).Among the PFCs analyzed,perfluorooctane sulfonate(PFOS) was the predominant compound in viscera and muscle of farmed pigs and chickens.In addition,a strong linear correlation(r = 0.932) was observed between the concentrations of PFOS and perfluoroundecanoic acid(PFUnDA) in pig liver.Our preliminary conclusion is that there is little potential risk of exposure to PFCs via the consumption of these products in Beijing.WANG JieMing SHI YaLi PAN YuanYuan CAI YaQi 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,31:24
4Evaluation of perfluorinated compounds in seven wastewater treatment plants in Beijing urban areas显示文摘The presence of perfluorinated compounds(PFCs)in seven major wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)in Beijing was investigated in the current study.We detected nine PFCs in all the wastewater and sludge samples.Perfluorooctane acid(PFOA)is the dominant PFCs in influents and effluents,while perfluorooctane sulfonate(PFOS)is the major contaminant in sludge.The highest PFC concentration was found in plants at Qinghe and Jiuxianqiao WWTP,while the lowest was found at Fangzhuang WWTP.The total values of PFC range from 2.88 to 176 ng/L in influents,from 5.48 to 498 ng/L in effluents,and from 1.21 to 32.0 ng/g(dry wt)in sludge.The fact that effluents usually contain higher levels of PFCs than influents suggests that additional PFCs are produced during the wastewater treatment processes.However,PFOS decreases in effluents than in influents in 62%of the water samples.This may be due to the adsorption and removal of the sludge during the active process.Perfluoroalkyl carboxylates(PFCAs)were found significantly correlated with each other in the effluents,which may indicate their similar sources or the existence of their potential precursors in the wastewater or treatment processes.The mass flows of PFC discharges into WWTPs are 0.4–51.4 mg/day,and the mass flows of PFCs in effluents exceed those in influents by 127%.Domestic and commercial wastewaters are suggested to be the major sources of PFC pollution in WWTPs in Beijing.PAN YuanYuan SHI YaLi WANG JieMing CAI YaQi 2011Science China Chemistry2011,54,3:16

6Perfluorinated compounds in milk, milk powder and yoghurt purchased from markets in China显示文摘The exposure to perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) through the diet for humans is of great concern. Among the diet, dairy products are in great demand. This paper reports the study on the levels of 9 perfluorinated acids and 2 fluorotelomer acids in milk, milk powder and yoghurt purchased from Chinese markets from 2008 to 2009. The analytes were quantitated by high performance liquid chromatography/electrospray tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-ESI-MS/MS). In milk samples, perfluoroheptanoic acid (PFHpA) and perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA) were detected frequently, both in 68% of samples. In milk powder samples, perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS), perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and PFNA were the only detected PFCs and none of them was observed in more than 35% of samples. In yoghurt, PFOA was the most frequently detected compound, found in 69% of samples. None of fluorotelomer acids was observed in any samples. The mean concentrations of total PFCs were 178 pg/g (wet weight) in milk, 98 pg/g (dry weight) in milk powder and 42 pg/g in yoghurt (wet weight). It is notable that the data of this study indicate significant differences (P<0.001) among three kinds of packaging of milk in the concentration of total PFCs. A preliminary human health risk assessment of milk and dairy products consumption was conducted in this study. 8Genome Sequence of a Marine Carotenoid Producing Yeast Rhodotorula mucilaginosa CYJ03显示文摘Carotenoids are valuable pigments that have been widely used in food,pharmaceutical,animal breeding and cosmetics industries.Due to the increasing demand for carotenoids of natural origin,the trend for production of carotenoids by red yeast has become popular.Strain Rhodotorula mucilaginosa CYJ03 was isolated from northern Yellow Sea of China for its carotenoid producing potential.It was found that the whole genome of CYJ03 was 19.03 Mb in size and contained 6301 protein-coding genes including a gene cluster for the carotenoids biosynthesis.The genome sequence would be valuable for exploring the potential biological properties of CYJ03,as well as for facilitating the molecular genetic analysis and the manipulation of carotenoids accumulation in this strain,and for the development of it as an engineered host for carotenoid production.TANG Wei WANG Yue CAI Yali LIU Shibo ZHANG Jun HE Zengguo 2020Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,2:3

16Perfluoroalkyl acids(PFAAs) in urban surface water of Shijiazhuang, China: Occurrence, distribution,sources and ecological risks显示文摘It is extremely important to analyze the contaminative behaviors of Perfluoroalkyl acids(PFAAs) due to their serious threats to urban environments which are closely related to humans. Current study aimed to explore the distribution, source apportionment and ecological risk assessment of PFAAs in surface water from Shijiazhuang, China. The concentrations of ΣPFAAs ranged from 19.5 to 125.9 ng/L in the investigation area. Perfluorobutanesulfonic acid(PFBS) and perfluoropentanoic acid(PFPeA) were the predominant contaminants(mean value: 14.3 ng/L and 16.6 ng/L, respectively). The distribution of PFAAs according to geospatial analysis and hierarchical clustering analysis(HCA) showed that higher levels of ΣPFAAs were detected in the southern surface water of Shijiazhuang and there was a stepwise decrease from the wet season to the dry season. Furthermore, based on source apportionment,the dominant potential sources were found to be wastewater treatment plant(WWTP) effluents and industrial discharge. The risk quotients(RQs) revealed low ecological risks of all PFAAs for aquatic organisms in Shijiazhuang surface water. 18Effects of chronic dexamethasone administration on hyperglycemia and insulin release in goats显示文摘Background: Dexamethasone(Dex), a synthetic glucocorticoid, is among the most commonly used drugs worldwide in animals and humans as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agent. GC has profound effects on plasma glucose level and other metabolic conditions. However, the effect of prolonged use of Dex on glucose metabolism in ruminants is still unclear.Results: Ten goats were randomly assigned to two groups: the control goats were injected with saline, and the Dex-treated goats were intramuscularly injected daily for 21 d with 0.2 mg/kg Dex. The results showed that plasma glucose and insulin concentrations were significantly increased after Dex administration(P < 0.05). Additionally, the content of hepatic glycogen was also markedly increased in Dex-treated goats(P < 0.01), while the content of glycogen in dorsal longissimus was unchanged by Dex(P > 0.05). The expression of several key genes, involved in blood glucose regulation, was detected by real-time PCR in the small intestine, skeletal muscle and liver. The expression of glucose transporter type 2(GLUT2), sodium-glucose transporter 1(SGLT1) and sodium-potassium ATPase(Na-K/ATPase) in the small intestine were generally increased by Dex, and GLUT2 m RNA expression was significantly up-regulated(P < 0.05). In liver, the expression of genes involved in gluconeogenesis including glucose-6-phosphatase catalytic subunit(G6 PC), cytosolic form of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase(PCK1) and pyruvate carboxylase(PC), were significantly down-regulated by Dex. However, the protein expression levels of PCK1 & PCK2 were significantly increased by Dex, suggesting a post-transcriptional regulation. In dorsal longissimus, the m RNA expression of genes associated with gluconeogenesis and the insulin signaling pathway were generally upregulated by Dex, but the m RNA expression of two markers of muscle atrophy, namely F-box protein 32(FBXO32/Atrogin1) and muscle RING-finger protein 1(Mu RF1), was not altered by Dex.Conclusions: Taken together, these results indicate that chronic administration of a low dosage of Dex induces hyperglycemia mainly through gluconeogenesis activation in the goat liver.Liqiong Niu Qu Chen Canfeng Hua Yali Geng Liuping Cai Shiyu Tao Yingdong Ni Ruqian Zhao 2018Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2018,9,3:1
