| 1 | Transplantation of UC-MSCs on collagen scaffold activates follicles in dormant ovaries of POF patients with long history of infertility显示文摘Premature ovarian failure(POF) is a refractory disease for clinical treatment with the goal of restoring fertility. In this study,umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells on a collagen scaffold(collagen/UC-MSCs) can activate primordial follicles in vitro via phosphorylation of FOXO3 a and FOXO1. Transplantation of collagen/UC-MSCs to the ovaries of POF patients rescued overall ovarian function, evidenced by elevated estradiol concentrations, improved follicular development, and increased number of antral follicles. Successful clinical pregnancy was achieved in women with POF after transplantation of collagen/UC-MSCs or UC-MSCs. | 2 | A new insight into cattle's maternal origin in six Asian countries显示文摘The domestication of cattle fuelled the development of agricultural society in the history of human being.The evolution and genetic relationship of cattle can be elucidated by investigating the variation of mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA) D-loop sequence.In this study,we built a cattle phylogeny with a pool of 856 individual D-loop sequences,of which 264 Chinese cattle D-loop sequences were obtained in this study(141 ones were first analyzed,and 123 were first submitted) and the rest sequences of cattle from six Asian countries(Japan,Korea,Mongolia,Nepal,India and China) were retrieved from GenBank.Our results indicated that cattle from six Asian countries fell into three clades,Bos taurus(taurine),Bos indicus(zebu) and yak.Four main haplogroups T1A,T2,T3(including T3A and T3B) and T5 were found in taurine,and two haplogroups I1 and I2 in zebu.Furthermore,we found that I1 and I2 haplogroups were separated by four variable sites rather than five ones and four haplogroups or sub-haplogroups of T1A,T3A,T3B and T5 were found for the first time in these Asian cattle.These data brought us a new insight into cattle's genetic structure in these six Asian countries.The geographical distribution of haplogroups was also outlined to provide systematic information on cattle genetic resources. | Shangang Jia Yan Zhou Chuzhao Lei Ru Yao Zhiying Zhang Xingtang Fang Hong Chen | 2010 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2010,37,3: | 8 |
| 3 | The Association of Socioeconomic Status with the Burden of Cataract-related Blindness and the Effect of Ultraviolet Radiation Exposure: An Ecological Study显示文摘Objective To assess the association of socioeconomic status with the burden of cataract blindness in terms of year lived with disability(YLD) rates and to determine whether ultraviolet radiation(UVR) levels modify the effect of socioeconomic status on this health burden.Methods National and subnational age-standardized YLD rates associated with cataract-related blindness were derived from the Global Burden of Disease(GBD) study 2017. The human development index(HDI) from the Human Development Report was used as a measure of socioeconomic status.Estimated ground-level UVR exposure was obtained from the Ozone Monitoring Instrument(OMI)dataset of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA).Results Across 185 countries, socioeconomic status was inversely associated with the burden of cataract blindness. Countries with a very high HDI had an 84% lower age-standardized YLD rate [95%confidence interval(CI): 60%–93%, P < 0.001] than countries with a low HDI;for high-HDI countries, the proportion was 76%(95% CI: 53%–88%, P < 0.001), and for medium-HDI countries, the proportion was48%(95% CI: 15%–68%, P = 0.010;P for trend < 0.001). The interaction analysis showed that UVR exposure played an interactive role in the association between socioeconomic status and cataract blindness burden(P value for interaction = 0.047).Conclusion Long-term high-UVR exposure amplifies the association of poor socioeconomic status with the burden of cataract-related blindness. | 4 | Simultaneous quantification of ginsenoside Rg1 and its metabolites by HPLC–MS/MS:Rg1 excretion in rat bile, urine and feces显示文摘Ginsenoside Rg1(Rg1), the major effective component of ginseng, has been shown to have multiple bioactivities, but low oral bioavailability. The aim of this study was to develop a simple, sensitive and rapid high performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry(LC–MS/MS) method, which could be used to validate and quantify the concentrations of Rg1 and its metabolites in Sprague-Dawley rat bile,urine, and feces after oral administration(25 mg/kg). Calibration curves offered satisfactory linearity(r40.995)within the determined ranges. Both intra-day and inter-day variances were less than 15%, and the accuracy was within 80–120%. The excretion recoveries of Rg1, ginsenoside Rh1(Rh1), and protopanaxatriol(Ppt) in bile,urine, and feces combined were all greater than 70%. The fecal excretion recoveries of Rg1, Rh1, and Ppt were40.11%, 22.19%, and 22.88%, respectively, whereas 6.88% of Rg1 and 0.09% of Rh1 were excreted in bile.Urinary excretion accounted for only 0.04% of Rg1. | 8 | Optimal Waist Circumference Cut-off values for Identifying Metabolic Risk Factors in Middle-aged and Elderly Subjects in Shandong Province of China显示文摘Objective To study the optimal waist circumference(WC) cut-off values for identifying metabolic risk factors in middle-aged and elderly subjects in Shandong Province of China. Methods A total of 2 873 men and 5 559 women were included in this cross-sectional study. Metabolic syndrome(MetS) was diagnosed according to the definition of Chinese Diabetes Society in 2004. The relation between WC and MetS was analyzed by multivariate logistic regression analysis. The optimal WC cut-off values were identified using the area under the ROC curve and the different diagnostic criteria for central obesity were compared. Results The WC was the risk factor for MetS independent of BMI, blood glucose, blood lipid, and blood pressure. The optimal WC cut-off value was 83.8 cm and 91.1 cm for identifying MetS in women and men, respectively. Compared with 80 cm and 85 cm for women and men, 85 cm and 90 cm had a higher Youden index for identifying all metabolic risk factors and MetS in women and men. | 13 | Risk or Beneficial Factors Associated with Unplanned Revascularization Risk Following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: A Large Single-Center Data显示文摘Objective To analyze factors associated with unplanned revascularization(UR) risk in patients with coronary artery disease(CAD) who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Methods A total of 10,640 cases with CAD who underwent PCI were analyzed. Multivariate COX regressions and competing risk regressions were applied.Results The patients who underwent UR following PCI in 30 days, 1, and 2 years accounted for 0.3%,6.5%, and 8.7%, respectively. After multivariate adjustment, the number of target lesions [hazard ratio(HR) = 2.320;95% confidence interval(CI): 1.643–3.277;P < 0.001], time of procedure(HR = 1.006;95%CI: 1.001–1.010;P = 0.014), body mass index(HR = 1.104;95% CI: 1.006–1.210;P = 0.036), incomplete revascularization(ICR)(HR = 2.476;95% CI: 1.030–5.952;P = 0.043), and age(HR = 1.037;95% CI:1.000–1.075;P = 0.048) were determined as independent risk factors of 30-day UR. Factors, including low-molecular-weight heparin or fondaparinux(HR = 0.618;95% CI: 0.531–0.719;P < 0.001), secondgeneration durable polymer drug-eluting stent(HR = 0.713;95% CI: 0.624–0.814;P < 0.001), left anterior descending artery involvement(HR = 0.654;95% CI: 0.530–0.807;P < 0.001), and age(HR = 0.992;95%CI: 0.985–0.998;P = 0.014), were independently associated with decreased two-year UR risk. | 14 | PITPNC1 promotes the thermogenesis of brown adipose tissue under acute cold exposure显示文摘Brown adipose tissue (BAT) plays an essential role in non-shivering thermogenesis. The phosphatidylinositol transfer protein, cytoplasmic 1 (PITPNC1) is identified as a lipid transporter that reciprocally transfers phospholipids between intracellular membrane structures. However, the physiological significance of PITPNC1 and its regulatory mechanism remain unclear. Here, we demonstrate that PITPNC1 is a key player in thermogenesis of BAT. While Pitpnc1^(−/−) mice do not differ with wildtype mice in body weight and insulin sensitivity on either chow or high-fat diet, they develop hypothermia when subjected to acute cold exposure at 4℃. The Pitpnc1^(−/−) brown adipocytes exhibit defective β-oxidation and abnormal thermogenesis-related metabolism pathways in mitochondria. The deficiency of lipid mobilization in Pitpnc1^(−/−) brown adipocytes might be the result of excessive accumulation of phosphatidylcholine and a reduction of phosphatidic acid. | 18 | Diferences and similarities of high-resolution computed tomography features between pneumocystis pneumonia and cytomegalovirus pneumonia in AIDS patients显示文摘Background:Accurately diferentiating pneumocystis from cytomegalovirus pneumonia is crucial for correct therapy selection in AIDS patients.Hence,the goal of this study was to compare the computerized tomography(CT)features of pneumocystis pneumonia and cytomegalovirus pneumonia in AIDS patients and identify clinical hallmarks to accurately distinguish these two pathologies.Methods:A total of 112 AIDS patients(78 with pneumocystis pneumonia and 34 cytomegalovirus pneumonia)at Beijing Ditan Hospital from January 2017 to May 2019 were included in this study.Two experienced chest radiologists retrospectively reviewed CT images for 17 features including ground-glass opacity,consolidation,nodules,and halo sign.Binary logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify the signifcant parameters that distinguished pneumocystis pneumonia from cytomegalovirus pneumonia.Correlations were analyzed by Pearson or Spearman correlation analyses.Result were considered signifcant if P<0.05.Results:The presence of consolidation,halo signs,and nodules(all P<0.05)were signifcantly more frequent in patients with cytomegalovirus pneumonia than in those with pneumocystis pneumonia.Small nodules(32.5%in cytomegalovirus pneumonia,6.41%in pneumocystis pneumonia,P<0.001)without perilymphatic distribution were particularly common in patients with cytomegalovirus pneumonia.Large nodules were not found in any of patients with cytomegalovirus pneumonia.The presence of ground-glass opacity,reticulation,and bronchial wall thickening(all P>0.05)were common in both groups.Conclusions:Analysis of consolidation,nodules,and halo signs may contribute to the diferential diagnosis of pneumocystis pneumonia or cytomegalovirus pneumonia.However,some CT features considered typical in one or other diseases appear with similar frequency in both cohorts of AIDS patients.CT features are potentially useful for the diferential diagnosis of pneumocystis pneumonia and cytomegalovirus pneumonia in AIDS patients. | Chun‑Jing Du Jing‑Yuan Liu Hui Chen Shuo Yan Lin Pu Hao‑Feng Xiong Pan Xiang Chuan‑Sheng Li Ming Zhang Ru‑Ming Xie Bu‑Dong Chen Ang Li | 2020 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2020,9,5: | 1 |
| 19 | First-principles study of methanol adsorption on heteroatom-doped phosphorene显示文摘First-principles calculations based on van der Waals(vdW) corrected density functional theory(DFT) are firstly employed to investigate the adsorption of methanol(CH_3OH) gas molecule on pristine and Xdoped phosphorene( =B, C, N and O). The CH_3OH gas molecule is placed on the top of different phosphorene surfaces, the whole adsorption systems are fully optimized by using Vienna ab initio simulation package(VASP). The calculation results demonstrate that both pristine and heteroatomdoped phosphorene are sensitive to CH_3OH gas molecule with a moderate adsorption energy and an excellent charge transfer. Among all the investigated adsorption configurations, CH_3OH gas molecule is physically absorbed on pristine phosphorene and heteroatom-doped phosphorene. The N and O doping improve the adsorption of phosphorene with CH_3OH gas molecule, while B and C doping are almost not beneficial compared to the pristine phosphorene. | 20 | UAV Laser scanning technology:a potential cost-effective tool for micro-topography detection over wooded areas for archaeological prospection显示文摘Airborne laser scanning(ALS)has recently been identified as a potential tool in topographic mapping for archaeological prospection.However,most existing applications in this field refers to manned ALS systems,for which the high operation and maintenance costs limits its application in small-scale archaeological investigation.In this paper,we conducted an exploratory study on the application of the unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)laser scanning(ULS)system in ancient micro-topography detection over wooded areas.Compared with manned ALS technology,we analyzed the advantages and potentials of ULS technology for archaeological applications.Then we outlined existing mainstream survey-grade UAV-based laser scanners,data processing and visualization approaches.Furthermore,we performed case studies in three cultural heritage sites in Zhejiang Province,China using two representative mainstream survey-grade ULS systems.Results were then verified by an in-site investigation.Finally,the correct selection of ULS devices,the planning of data acquisition missions and the use of appropriate data processing methods specifically for archaeological prospection were discussed.This paper provides a cost-effective and flexible solution for micro-topography detection in wooded areas.ULS technology,as demonstrated here,can be an important supplement to existing archaeological investigation methods,particularly for small-scale areas,and has promising prospects in archaeological applications. | Wei Zhou Fulong Chen Huadong Guo Mingyuan Hu Qi Li Panpan Tang Wenwu Zheng Jian’an Liu Rupeng Luo Kaikai Yan Ru Li Pilong Shi Sheng Nie | 2020 | International Journal of Digital Earth2020,13,11: | 1 |
