| 2 | Optimal design of Er/Yb co-doped fiber amplifiers with an Yb-band fiber Bragg grating显示文摘In this paper, Er/Yb co-doped fiber amplifiers(EYDFAs) with an Yb-band fiber Bragg grating(FBG) at the pump end to improve the performance of the amplifier is systematically studied. The influence of the reflectivity and center wavelength of the FBG along with the gain-fiber length on the performance of an EYDFA are numerically analyzed. The results show that the wavelength of the FBG has critical influence on the efficiency of the EYDFA,whereas the requirement to its reflectivity is relaxed. It is an effective and promising way to improve the efficiency of a high-power pumped EYDFA by introducing a suitable Yb-band FBG at the pump end. | 3 | Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell-derived Mesenchymal Stem Cell Seeding on Biofunctionalized Calcium Phosphate Cements显示文摘Induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSCs)have great potential due to their proliferation and differentiation capability.The objectives of this study were to generate iPSC-derived mesenchymal stem cells(iPSC-MSCs),and investigate iPSC-MSC proliferation and osteogenic differentiation on calcium phosphate cement(CPC)containing biofunctional agents for the first time.Human iPSCs were derived from marrow CD34+cells which were reprogrammed by a single episomal vector.iPSCs were cultured to form embryoid bodies(EBs),and MSCs migrated out of EBs.Five biofunctional agents were incorporated into CPC:RGD(Arg-Gly-Asp)peptides,fibronectin(Fn),fibronectin-like engineered polymer protein(FEPP),extracellular matrix Geltrex,and platelet concentrate.iPSC-MSCs were seeded on five biofunctionalized CPCs:CPC-RGD,CPC-Fn,CPC-FEPP,CPC-Geltrex,and CPC-Platelets.iPSC-MSCs on biofunctional CPCs had enhanced proliferation,actin fiber expression,osteogenic differentiation and mineralization,compared to control.Cell proliferation was greatly increased on biofunctional CPCs.iPSC-MSCs underwent osteogenic differentiation with increased alkaline phosphatase,Runx2 and collagen-I expressions.Mineral synthesis by iPSC-MSCs on CPC-Platelets was 3-fold that of CPC control.In conclusion,iPSCs showed high potential for bone engineering.iPSC-MSCs on biofunctionalized CPCs had cell proliferation and bone mineralization that were much better than traditional CPC.iPSC-MSC-CPC constructs are promising to promote bone regeneration in craniofacial/orthopedic repairs. | WahWah TheinHan Jun Liu Minghui Tang Wenchuan Chen Linzhao Cheng Hockin H.K.Xu | 2013 | Bone Research2013,1,4: | 3 |
| 4 | Fiber loop ring-down cavity integrated U-bent single-mode-fiber for magnetic field sensing显示文摘A novel magnetic field sensing system based on the fiber loop ring-down technique is proposed in this paper. In the fiber loop, a U-bent single-mode-fiber structure coated with magnetic fluid(MF) serves as the sensing head, and an erbium-doped fiber amplifier(EDFA) is introduced to compensate for the intrinsic loss of the cavity. The ring-down time of the system varies with the change of applied magnetic field due to the tunable absorption coefficient and refractive index of the MF. Therefore, measurement of the magnetic field can be realized by monitoring the ringdown time. The experimental results show that the performance of the system is extremely dependent on the interrogation wavelength, because both the gain of the EDFA and the loss of the sensing head are wavelength dependent.We found that at the optimal wavelength, the ratio of the gain to loss attained its maximum. | 17 | Immunogenicity and safety of a booster COVID-19 vaccination in patients with chronic liver disease:A multicenter study显示文摘Aim:Patients with chronic liver disease(CLD),especially cirrhosis,are at a high risk of severe illness or death from coronavirus disease-2019(COVID-19)and may have a suboptimal immune response to the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)vaccine.This study aimed to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of the COVID-19 booster vaccination in patients with CLD.Methods:The study protocol was prospectively registered at ClinicalTrials.gov(No.NCT05204602)after approval by the Ethics Committee.Adult participants with CLD were enrolled in this multicenter prospective study.They completed two doses of the inactivated COVID-19 vaccine and received booster doses at least 6 months later.Adverse reactions were recorded within 14 days after the booster dose.Serum samples of the enrolled patients were collected before and after booster vaccination and tested for SARS-CoV-2 receptor-binding domain(RBD)immunoglobulin G and neutralizing anti-bodies.The chi-squared or Fisher's exact test was used to compare categorical data,and the Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare continuous variables.Two-sided p<0.05 were considered statistically significant.Results:In total,63 patients were enrolled from four hospitals in China,including 29 patients with cirrhosis.The median age of all patients was 55 years,and 61.9%(39/63)were male.The vaccines were well tolerated;most adverse reactions were mild and transient,and injection site pain(6.4%;4/63)and fatigue(3.2%,2/63)were the most frequent local and systemic adverse events.Following the booster vaccination,our results showed that in the whole cohort,the levels and positive rates of anti-RBD IgG and neutralizing antibodies were significantly higher than baseline levels(all p<0.05).Conclusions:The inactivated COVID-19 booster vaccine was safe and significantly increased antibody levels and positivity rates following standard vaccination regimens in patients with CLD,especially those with cirrhosis. | Jitao Wang Jingwen Ai Huiling Xiang Yanliang Zhang Zhiyun Hou Qiran Zhang Jiaojian Lv Shubo Chen Chuan Liu Qianqian Li Jing Liang Faren Xie Shujun Jiang Nina Zhang Aiguo Zhang Xiaolin Lan Xuying Zhang Jinlong Li Dengxiang Liu Wenchuan Wang Wei Rao Zhang Qun Qiuju Tian Xiaolong Qi Wenhong Zhang | 2023 | Portal Hypertension & Cirrhosis2023,2,3: | 0 |
| 18 | Tuning the reaction path of CO_(2) electroreduction reaction on indium single-atom catalyst:Insights into the active sites显示文摘Modulating the local coordination structure of metal single-atom catalysts(SACs)is extensively employed to tune the catalytic activity,but rarely involved in regulating the reaction pathway which fundamentally determines the product selectivity.Herein,we report that the product selectivity of electrochemical CO_(2)reduction(CO_(2)RR)on the single-atom indium-NxC4-x(1≤x≤4)catalysts could be tuned from formate to CO by varying the carbon and nitrogen occupations in the first coordination sphere.Surprisingly,the optimal In SAC showed great promise for CO production with the maximum Faradic efficiency of 97%,greatly different from the reported In-based catalysts where the formate is the dominant product.Combined experimental verifications and theoretical simulations reveal that the selectivity switch from formate to CO on In SACs originates from active sites shift from indium center to the indium-adjacent carbon atom,where the indium site favors formate formation and the indium-adjacent carbon site prefers the CO pathway.The present work suggests the active sites in metal SACs may shift from the widely accepted metal center to surrounding carbon atoms,thereby offering a new implication to revisit the active sites for metal SACs. | Jiawei Zhang Gangming Zeng Lanlan Chen Wenchuan Lai Yuliang Yuan Yangfan Lu Chao Ma Wenhua Zhang Hongwen Huang | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,5: | 0 |

Neocalamites fossils are commonly found in coal-bearing sedimentary rocks of Rhaetian stage from South China and the Yanchang Group from North China(Mei and Liu, 2017).
