1Laser performance of the SG-Ⅲ laser facility显示文摘SG-Ⅲ laser facility is now the largest laser driver for inertial confinement fusion research in China. 3Biofunctionalization of metallic implants by calcium phosphate coatings显示文摘Metallic materials have been extensively applied in clinical practice due to their unique mechanical properties and durability.Recent years have witnessed broad interests and advances on surface functionalization of metallic implants for high-performance biofunctions.Calcium phosphates(CaPs)are the major inorganic component of bone tissues,and thus owning inherent biocompatibility and osseointegration properties.As such,they have been widely used in clinical orthopedics and dentistry.The new emergence of surface functionalization on metallic implants with CaP coatings shows promise for a combination of mechanical properties from metals and various biofunctions from CaPs.This review provides a brief summary of state-of-art of surface biofunctionalization on implantable metals by CaP coatings.We first glance over different types of CaPs with their coating methods and in vitro and in vivo performances,and then give insight into the representative biofunctions,i.e.osteointegration,corrosion resistance and biodegradation control,and antibacterial property,provided by CaP coatings for metallic implant materials.Yingchao Su Irsalan Cockerill Yufeng Zheng Liping Tang Yi-Xian Qin Donghui Zhu 2019Bioactive Materials2019,4,1:11
4Efficacy of Lubeikangru formulation in mice with hyperplasia of the mammary glands induced by estrogen and progesterone显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the protective effects of Lubeikangru formula(LF) on hyperplasia of the mammary glands(HMG) induced by estrogen and progesterone in mice.METHODS: Female mice were divided randomly into five groups: normal, model, tamoxifen(3 mg/kg),Rupixiao(900 mg/kg) and LF(900 mg/kg). All mice except those in the normal group were treated sequentially with estradiol and progesterone to induce HMG. From the tenth day of induction, mice in normal and model groups received distilled water and mice in the other groups were given the corresponding drugs by gavage, once a day, for 30 d.At the end of treatment, the mammary glands, ovaries, hypothalamus, and serum was collected for whole-mount and hematoxylin and eosin(HE)staining, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays(ELISAs), or western blotting.RESULTS: Whole-mount and HE staining of mammary glands showed that LF rescued(at least in part) the hyperplasic morphology of the mammary glands, and the number of branch points decreased after LF treatment(P < 0.05). ELISAs revealed that levels of estrogen and progesterone were decreased following LF treatment, whereas levels of gonadotropin-releasing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, and luteinizing hormone were increased in serum and tissues. Western blotting confirmed that LF treatment led to a reduction in expression of phosphorylated(p)-Erk, p-p38 and p-c-Jun N-terminal kinase. 5Comparison between UV and VUV photolysis for the pre- and post-treatment of coking wastewater显示文摘In this study, ultraviolet(UV) and vacuum ultraviolet(VUV) photolysis were investigated for the pre-treatment and post-treatment of coking wastewater. First, 6-fold diluted raw coking wastewater was irradiated by UV and VUV. It was found that 15.9%–35.4% total organic carbon(TOC) was removed after 24 hr irradiation. The irradiated effluent could be degraded by the acclimated activated sludge. Even though the VUV photolysis removed more chemical oxygen demand(COD) than UV, the UV-irradiated effluent demonstrated better biodegradability. After 4 hr UV irradiation, the biological oxygen demand BOD5/COD ratio of irradiated coking wastewater increased from 0.163 to 0.224, and its toxicity decreased to the greatest extent. Second, the biologically treated coking wastewater was irradiated by UV and VUV. Both of them were able to remove 37%–47% TOC within 8 hr irradiation.Compared to UV, VUV photolysis could significantly improve the transparency of the bio-treated effluent. VUV also reduced 7% more ammonia nitrogen(NH+4–N), 17%more nitrite nitrogen(NO-2–N), and 18% more total nitrogen(TN) than UV, producing 35%less nitrite nitrogen(NO-3–N) as a result. 10The Tibetan Plateau Surface–Atmosphere Coupling System and Its Weather and Climate Effects: The Third Tibetan Plateau Atmospheric Science Experiment显示文摘The Tibetan Plateau(TP) is a key area affecting forecasts of weather and climate in China and occurrences of extreme weather and climate events over the world. The China Meteorological Administration, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly initiated the Third Tibetan Plateau Atmospheric Science Experiment(TIPEX-Ⅲ) in 2013, with an 8–10-yr implementation plan. Since its preliminary field measurements conducted in 2013, routine automatic sounding systems have been deployed at Shiquanhe, Gaize, and Shenzha stations in western TP, where no routine sounding observations were available previously. The observational networks for soil temperature and soil moisture in the central and western TP have also been established. Meanwhile, the plateau-scale and regional-scale boundary layer observations, cloud–precipitation microphysical observations with multiple radars and aircraft campaigns, and tropospheric–stratospheric air composition observations at multiple sites, were performed. The results so far show that the turbulent heat exchange coefficient and sensible heat flux are remarkably lower than the earlier estimations at grassland, meadow, and bare soil surfaces of the central and western TP. Climatologically, cumulus clouds over the main body of the TP might develop locally instead of originating from the cumulus clouds that propagate northward from South Asia. The TIPEX-Ⅲ observations up to now also reveal diurnal variations, macro-and microphysical characteristics, and water-phase transition mechanisms, of cumulus clouds at Naqu station. Moreover, TIPEX-Ⅲ related studies have proposed a maintenance mechanism responsible for the Asian 'atmospheric water tower' and demonstrated the effects of the TP heating anomalies on African, Asian, and North American climates. Additionally, numerical modeling studies show that the Γ distribution of raindrop size is more suitable for depicting the TP raindrop characteristics compared to the M–P distribution, the overestimation of sensible heat flux can be reduced via modifying the heat transfer parameterization over the TP, and considering climatic signals in some key areas of the TP can improve the skill for rainfall forecast in the central and eastern parts of China. 13Improved mechanical, degradation, and biological performances of Zn–Fe alloys as bioresorbable implants显示文摘Zinc(Zn)is a promising bioresorbable implant material with more moderate degradation rate compared to magnesium(Mg)and iron(Fe).However,the low mechanical strength and localized degradation behavior of pure Zn limit its clinical applications.Alloying is one of the most effective ways to overcome these limitations.After screening the alloying element candidates regarding their potentials for improvement on the degradation and biocompatibility,we proposed Fe as the alloying element for Zn,and investigated the in vitro and in vivo performances of these alloys in both subcutaneous and femoral tissues.Results showed that the uniformly distributed secondary phase in Zn–Fe alloys significantly improved the mechanical property and facilitated uniform degradation,which thus enhanced their biocompatibility,especially the Zn-0.4Fe alloy.Moreover,these Zn–Fe alloys showed outstanding antibacterial property.Taken together,Zn–Fe alloys could be promising can-didates as bioresorbable medical implants for various cardiovascular,wound closure,and orthopedic applications.Yingchao Su Jiayin Fu Wonsae Lee Shaokang Du Yi-Xian Qin Yufeng Zheng Yadong Wang Donghui Zhu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,11:3
14Glycerolipid Profiling of Yellow Sarson Seeds Using Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography Coupled to Triple Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry显示文摘Yellow sarson(Brassica rapa ssp. trillocularis) is an important rapeseed-mustard species of Brassica rapa due to its high seed oil content. Glycerolipids and fatty acid composition affect seed germination and determine the quality of seed oil. To date, no information is available on the composition of individual glycerolipids in this species. Therefore, in this study the glycerolipid profiling of yellow sarson seeds was performed using ultra high performance liquid chromatography coupled to triple time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPLC-Triple-TOF-MS).A fast and efficient chromatographic separation of glycerolipids was accomplished based on an UPLCTMBEH C8 column within 22 min.In ESI positive ion mode, TOF-MS scan-information dependent acquisition-product ion scan was carried out to acquire both high resolution MS and MS/MS information from one injection. According to MS/MS spectra, predominant fragmentation patterns of glycerolipids were elucidated in detail. Based on retention time, accurate mass, isotopic distribution, and fragmentation patterns, the composition of 144 glycerolipids and fatty acids were finally identified in yellow sarson seeds, including 77 triacylglycerols, 32 diacylglycerols, 18sulfoquinovosyl-diacylglycerols, 5 monogalactosyl-diaclyglycerols, and 12 digalactosyl-diacylglycerols. Of them, the most abundant glycerolipids in yellow sarson seeds were triacylglycerols, the major storage form of seed oil in plants. In addition, diacylglycerols were found as a minor component of glycerolipids. The lowest amounts of glycerolipids detected in seeds were glycosyl-acylglycerols. The results revealed the composition and relative content of glycerolipids in yellow sarson seeds, which will provide a more comprehensive assessment of the quality of seed oil and also help to select functional cultivars with higher beneficial glycerolipids. 15Effects of V and Zr Additions on Microstructures and Mechanical Properties of Nb-Ti-Al-Base Alloys显示文摘Microstructures and mechanical properties of Nb-32Ti-7Al alloys containing different V and Zr contents were investigated. The microstructures were characterized using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The alloy with V and Zr presents single phase Nb solid solution (Nbss). Tensile testing was carried out at room temperature and 1373 K. The results show that these alloys have good ductility at room temperature. 16Temporal and spatial changes of microbial community in an industrial effluent receiving area in Hangzhou Bay显示文摘Anthropogenic activities usually contaminate water environments, and have led to the eutrophication of many estuaries and shifts in microbial communities. In this study, the temporal and spatial changes of the microbial community in an industrial effluent receiving area in Hangzhou Bay were investigated by 454 pyrosequencing. The bacterial community showed higher richness and biodiversity than the archaeal community in all sediments. Proteobacteria dominated in the bacterial communities of all the samples; Marine_Group_Ⅰ and Methanomicrobia were the two dominant archaeal classes in the effluent receiving area. PCoA and AMOVA revealed strong seasonal but minor spatial changes in both bacterial and archaeal communities in the sediments. The seasonal changes of the bacterial community were less significant than those of the archaeal community, which mainly consisted of fluctuations in abundance of a large proportion of longstanding species rather than the appearance and disappearance of major archaeal species. 20High temperature ceramic thermal insulation material显示文摘Flexible and lightweight thermal insulation materials with hierarchical microstructures are ubiquitous in thermal management and protection systems.Ceramic aerogels promise high-temperature thermal insulation but lack mechanical robustness,while the fibrous materials with excellent mechanical elasticity display modest thermal insulation.Here we describe flexible hierarchical superhydrophobic ceramic insulation nanocomposites through the densified architectured hierarchical nanostructures,radiative insulation coating,and interfacial cross-linking among composites.The lightweight flexible ceramic nanocomposites exhibit a density of 0.13 g/cm^(3),high-temperature fire resistance with thermal conductivity of 0.024 W/(m·K),and super-hydrophobicity with the water contact angle of 152°.The mechanical robustness and high-temperature thermal insulation of ceramic nanocomposites,together with its soundproof performance,shed light on the low-cost flexible insulation materials manufacturing with scalability for high-temperature thermal insulation applications under high mechanical loading conditions.Lu An Jason N.Armstrong Yong Hu Yulong Huang Zheng Li Donghui Zhao Jesse Sokolow Zipeng Guo Chi Zhou Shenqiang Ren 2022Nano Research2022,15,7:1
