1Spatial Heterogeneity of Soil Mineral Oxide Components in Depression Between Karst Hills,Southwest China显示文摘In karst regions,the spatial heterogeneity of soil mineral oxides and environmental variables is still not clear.We investigated the spatial heterogeneity of SiO2,Al2O3,Fe2O3,CaO,MgO,P2O5,K2O,and MnO contents in the soils of slope land,plantation forest,secondary forest,and primary forest,as well as their relationships with environmental variables in a karst region of Southwest China.Geostatistics,principal component analysis(PCA),and canonical correlation analysis(CCA)were applied to analyze the field data.The results show that SiO2was the predominant mineral in the soils(45.02%–67.33%),followed by Al2O3and Fe2O3.Most soil mineral oxide components had a strong spatial dependence,except for CaO,MgO,and P2O5in the plantation forest,MgO and P2O5in the secondary forest,and CaO in the slope land.Dimensionality reduction in PCA was not appropriate due to the strong spatial heterogeneity in the ecosystems.Soil mineral oxide components,the main factors in all ecosystems,had greater influences on vegetation than those of conventional soil properties.There were close relationships between soil mineral oxide components and vegetation,topography,and conventional soil properties.Mineral oxide components affected species diversity,organic matter and nitrogen levels.DU Hu WANG Kelin PENG Wanxia ZENG Fuping SONG Tongqing ZHANG Hao LU Shiyang 2014Chinese Geographical Science2014,24,2:9
2High harmonic generation and application for photoemission spectroscopy in condensed matter显示文摘High harmonic generation(HHG)delivering attosecond pulse duration with photon energy in the extreme ultraviolet spectral range has been demonstrated as a robust table-top coherent light source,allowing for the observation and manipulation of ultrafast process within the shortest time window ever made by humans.The past decade has witnessed the rapid progress of HHG from a variety of solid targets and its application for photoemission spectroscopy in condensed matter.In this article,we review the HHG in solids and the understanding of the underlying physics of HHG,which allows all-optical band structure reconstruction.We also introduce combinations of HHG source and photoemission spectroscopy,such as angular-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and photoemission electron microscopy.With the capacity of exploring a wide momentum space and high temporal resolution,the extension of attosecond science to the field of condensed matter physics will lead to new insights into the fundamental ultrafast dynamics in novel quantum materials.Shiyang Zhong Yueying Liang Shuai Wang Hao Teng Xinkui He Zhiyi Wei 2022Materials Futures2022,1,3:0

4Dual-engineered cartilage-targeting extracellular vesicles derived from mesenchymal stem cells enhance osteoarthritis treatment via miR-223/NLRP3/pyroptosis axis:Toward a precision therapy显示文摘Osteoarthritis(OA)is the most common disabling joint disease with no effective disease modifying drugs.Extracellular vesicles released by several types of mesenchymal stem cells could promote cartilage repair and ameliorate OA pathology in animal models,representing a novel therapeutic strategy.In this study,we demonstrated that extracellular vesicles derived from human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells(hUC-EVs)could maintain chondrocyte homeostasis and alleviate OA,and further revealed a novel molecular mechanism of this therapeutic effect.miR-223,which could directly bind with the 3′UTR of NLRP3 mRNA,was found to be a key miRNA for hUC-EVs to exert beneficial effects on inflammation inhibiting and cartilage protecting.For enhancing the effect on mitigating osteoarthritis,exogenous miR-223 was loaded into hUC-EVs by electroporation,and a collagen II-targeting peptide(WYRGRL)was modified onto the surface of hUC-EVs by genetic engineering to achieve a more targeted and efficient RNA delivery to the cartilage.The dual-engineered EVs showed a maximal effect on inhibiting the NLRP3 inflammasome activation and chondrocyte pyroptosis,and offered excellent results for the treatment of OA.This study provides a novel theoretical basis and a promising therapeutic strategy for the application of engineered extracellular vesicles in OA treatment.Weixuan Liu Anqi Liu Xujun Li Ziyang Sun Zhenghua Sun Yaru Liu Gang Wang Dan Huang Hao Xiong Shiyang Yu Xintao Zhang Cunyi Fan 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,12:0

6Identification of COL3A1 variants associated with sporadic thoracic aortic dissection: a case-control study显示文摘Thoracic aortic dissection(TAD)without familial clustering or syndromic features is known as sporadic TAD(STAD).So far,the genetic basis of STAD remains unknown.Whole exome sequencing was performed in 223 STAD patients and 414 healthy controls from the Chinese Han population(N=637).After population structure and genetic relationship and ancestry analyses,we used the optimal sequence kernel association test to identify the candidate genes or variants of STAD.We found that COL3A1 was significantly relevant to STAD(P=7.35×10^(−6))after 10000 times permutation test(P=2.49×10^(−3)).Moreover,another independent cohort,including 423 cases and 734 non-STAD subjects(N=1157),replicated our results(P=0.021).Further bioinformatics analysis showed that COL3A1 was highly expressed in dissected aortic tissues,and its expression was related to the extracellular matrix(ECM)pathway.Our study identified a profile of known heritable TAD genes in the Chinese STAD population and found that COL3A1 could increase the risk of STAD through the ECM pathway.We wanted to expand the knowledge of the genetic basis and pathology of STAD,which may further help in providing better genetic counseling to the patients.Yanghui Chen Yang Sun Zongzhe Li Chenze Li Lei Xiao Jiaqi Dai Shiyang Li Hao Liu Dong Hu Dongyang Wu Senlin Hu Bo Yu Peng Chen Ping Xu Wei Kong Dao Wen Wang 2021Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,3:0

9Collective stimulated Brillouin scattering modes of two crossing laser beams with shared scattered wave显示文摘In inertial confinement fusion(ICF),overlapping of laser beams is common.Owing to the effective high laser intensity of the overlapped beams,the collective mode of stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS)with a shared scattered light wave is potentially important.In this work,an exact analytic solution for the convective gain coefficient of the collective SBS modes with shared scattered wave is presented for two overlapped beams based on a linear kineticmodel.The effects of the crossing angle,polarization states,and finite beamoverlapping volume of the two laser beams on the shared light modes are analyzed for cases with zero and nonzero wavelength difference between the two beams.It is found that all these factors have a significant influence on the shared lightmodes of SBS.Furthermore,the out-of-plane modes,in which the wavevectors of daughter waves lie in different planes from the two overlapped beams,are found to be important for certain polarization states and especially for obtuse crossing angles.In particular,adjusting the polarization directions of the two beams to be orthogonal to each other or tuning the wavelength difference to a sufficiently large value(of the order of nanometers)are found to be effective methods to suppress the shared light modes of SBS.This work will be helpful for comprehending and suppressing collective SBS with shared scattered waves in ICF experiments.Jie Qiu Liang Hao Lihua Cao Shiyang Zou 2021Matter and Radiation at Extremes2021,6,6:0

11Semi-hydro-equivalent design and performance extrapolation between 100 kJ-scale and NIF-scale indirect drive implosion显示文摘Extrapolation of implosion performance between different laser energy scales is investigated for indirect drive through a semi-hydroequivalent design.Since radiation transport is non-hydro-equivalent,the peak radiation temperature of the hohlraum and the ablation velocity of the capsule ablator are not scale-invariant when the sizes of the hohlraum and the capsule are scale-varied.A semi-hydro-equivalent design method that keeps the implosion velocity V_(i),adiabat α_(F),and P_(L)/R_(hc)^(2) (where P_(L) is the laser power and R_(hc) is the hohlraum and capsule scale length)scale-invariant,is proposed to create hydrodynamically similar implosions.The semi-hydro-equivalent design and the scaled implosion performance are investigated for the 100 kJ Laser Facility(100 kJ-scale)and the National Ignition Facility(NIF-scale)with about 2 MJ laser energy.It is found that the one-dimensional implosion performance is approximately hydro-equivalent when V_(i) and α_(F) are kept the same.Owing to the non-hydro-equivalent radiation transport,the yield-over-clean without α-particle heating(YOC_(noα))is slightly lower at 100 kJ-scale than at NIF-scale for the same scaled radiation asymmetry or the same initial perturbation of the hydrodynamic instability.The overall scaled two-dimensional implosion performance is slightly lower at 100 kJ-scale.The general Lawson criterion factor scales asχ_(noα) ^(2D)∼S^(1.06±0.04)(where S is the scale-variation factor)for the semi-hydro-equivalent implosion design with a moderate YOC_(noα).Our study indicates that χ_(noα)≈0.379 is the minimum requirement for the 100 kJ-scale implosion to demonstrate the ability to achieve marginal ignition at NIF-scale.Huasen Zhang Dongguo Kang Changshu Wu Liang Hao Hao Shen Shiyang Zou Shaoping Zhu Yongkun Ding 2024Matter and Radiation at Extremes2024,9,1:0
