| 1 | Washed microbiota transplantation vs.manual fecal microbiota transplantation:clinical findings,animal studies and in vitro screening显示文摘Fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)by manual preparation has been applied to treat diseases for thousands of years.However,this method still endures safety risks and challenges the psychological endurance and acceptance of doctors,patients and donors.Population evidence showed the washed microbiota preparation with microfiltration based on an automatic purification system followed by repeated centrifugation plus suspension for three times significantly reduced FMT-related adverse events.This washing preparation makes delivering a precise dose of the enriched microbiota feasible,instead of using the weight of stool.Intraperitoneal injection in mice with the fecal microbiota supernatant obtained after repeated centrifugation plus suspension for three times induced less toxic reaction than that by the first centrifugation following the microfiltration.The toxic reactions that include death,the change in the level of peripheral white blood cells,and the proliferation of germinal center in secondary lymphoid follicles in spleen were noted.The metagenomic next-generation sequencing(NGS)indicated the increasing types and amount of viruses could be washed out during the washing process.Metabolomics analysis indicated metabolites with pro-inflammatory effects in the fecal microbiota supernatant such as leukotriene B4,corticosterone,and prostaglandin G2 could be removed by repeated washing.Near-infrared absorption spectroscopy could be served as a rapid detection method to control the quality of the washingprocess.In conclusion,this study for the first time provides evidence linking clinical findings and animal experiments to support that washed microbiota transplantation(WMT)is safer,more precise and more quality-controllable than the crude FMT by manual. | Ting Zhang Gaochen Lu Zhe Zhao Yafei Liu Quan Shen Pan Li Yaoyao Chen Haoran Yin Huiquan Wang Cicilia Marcella Bota Cui Lei Cheng Guozhong Ji Faming Zhang | 2020 | Protein & Cell2020,11,4: | 44 |

| 3 | Three Tiaobu Feishen therapies protect human alveolar epithelial cells against cigarette smoking and tumor necrosis factor-mlear factor-kappa B pathwayα-induced inflamation by nuc显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the efficacy of Tiaobu Feishen formulae(TBFS), including Bufei Jianpi formula(BJF), Bufei Yishen formula(BYF), and Yiqi Zishen formula(YZF), on inflammatory response, protease-anti-protease imbalance and collagen deposition in rats.METHODS: In present work, we used an in vitro model of cigarette smoking extract(CSE)-and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)-induced A549 cellsto examine the efficacy of BJF, BYF and YZF on the production of inflammatory cytokines, including TNF-α and interleukin(IL)-8, IL-6, matrix metalloproteinases(MMP)-9, and IL-10 in CSE or TNF-ls. And their related transcripα-induced A549 celtion factors and signaling pathway were also analyzed.RESULTS: The results showed that BJF, BYF and YZF could significantly decrease the expression levels of the pro-inflammatory cytokines induced by CSE or TNF-α. Furthermore, BJF, BYF and YZF could suppress CSE-or TNF-α-induced activation of nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB) transcription factors and its corresponding pathways. Taken together, these data implied that BJF, BYF and YZF effectively inhibited CSE-or TNF-α-induced inflammatory response in alveolar epithelial cell, which was due to their inhibition effect on NF-κB pathways.CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that the Tiaobu Feishen therapies may protect human alveolar epithelial cells against cigarette smoking and TNF-α-induced inflammation. | 4 | Insights into the influence of temperature on the adsorption behavior of sodium oleate and its response to flotation of quartz显示文摘Temperature affects the flotation of quartz in the calcium/sodium oleate(Na OL)system,while there is a lack of understanding of its potential mechanism.Therefore,in this work,the flotation response of quartz to temperature was investigated via micro-flotation experiments,interface property analyses,and theoretical calculations.Flotation results demonstrated that increasing temperature contributed to higher flotation recovery of quartz,which enhanced the removal of quartz from hematite.Surface tension results revealed that higher temperatures lowered the critical micelle concentration(CMC)and surface tension of the Na OL solution,and thus enhanced its surface activity.Solution chemistry calculations and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)measurements confirmed that the increased content of Ca(OH)+achieved by increasing temperatures enhanced the adsorption amounts of calcium species(acting as activation sites)on the quartz surface.Dynamic light scattering(DLS)measurements verified that the association degree of RCOOàto form(RCOO)22àwas strengthened.Furthermore,adsorption density measurements and molecular dynamics(MD)simulations confirmed that increasing the temperature facilitated Na OL adsorption toward the surface of the quartz,which was attributed to the stronger interaction between Na OL and the calcium-activated quartz surface at higher temperatures.As a result,quartz flotation was improved by increasing temperatures.Accordingly,a possible adsorption model was proposed. | Shaohang Cao Wanzhong Yin Bin Yang Zhanglei Zhu Haoran Sun Qiuyue Sheng Keqiang Chen | 2022 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2022,32,2: | 4 |
| 5 | Forecasting Scenario Generation for Multiple Wind Farms Considering Time-series Characteristics and Spatial-temporal Correlation显示文摘Scenario forecasting methods have been widely studied in recent years to cope with the wind power uncertainty problem. The main difficulty of this problem is to accurately and comprehensively reflect the time-series characteristics and spatial-temporal correlation of wind power generation. In this paper, the marginal distribution model and the dependence structure are combined to describe these complex characteristics. On this basis, a scenario generation method for multiple wind farms is proposed. For the marginal distribution model, the autoregressive integrated moving average-generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity-t (ARIMA-GARCH-t) model is proposed to capture the time-series characteristics of wind power generation. For the dependence structure, a time-varying regular vine mixed Copula (TRVMC) model is established to capture the spatial-temporal correlation of multiple wind farms. Based on the data from 8 wind farms in Northwest China, sufficient scenarios are generated. The effectiveness of the scenarios is evaluated in 3 aspects. | 14 | Influence of bottom and sand curtain on hydrodynamic performance of otter boards显示文摘Numerical simulation is an important method for calculating the hydrodynamic performance of otter boards used in sea floor trawling.Although such simulations have been explored in prior studies,the effects of the proximity of the otter boards to the seafloor and the plume of upward-drawn sediment during bottom trawling have largely been ignored.In this study,we assessed these factors.The results show that within the angles of attack used during normal operations,the effect of the seafloor bottom boundary of the flow field on the hydrodynamic performance of an otter board is obvious.We found that when the ratio of the distance between the bottom of an otter board and the surface boundary of the flow field to the chord length of the board exceeds 0.4,the influence of the bottom boundary of the flow field on the hydrodynamic performance of the board is negligible.For values of less than 0.4,the seafloor bottom boundary has an increasingly obvious impact on the hydrodynamic performance as this ratio decreases.We also found that the turbid plume of ocean floor sediment raised during bottom trawling has an obvious effect on the lift and resistance coefficients of an otter board at high angles of attack.At low angles,this effect on the lift-to-drag ratio is reversed and less obvious.The simulation results show that the optimal lift-to-drag ratio decreases with an increase in the sediment concentration;however,beyond a certain threshold,an increasing concentration of sediments was not found to have an obvious impact on the lift-to-drag ratio. | Haoran Li Weiguo Qian Wenhua Chu Qing Yun Chunqin Yin | 2023 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2023,8,6: | 0 |
| 15 | Investigation of the relationship between DNA-dependent protein kinase and lymphatic metastasis in colorectal cancer显示文摘Objective: To investigate DNA-dependent protein kinase (DNA-PK) expression,and its relationship with lymphat-ic metastasis in colorectal cancer. Methods: Tumor tissues from 60 patients,divided into two groups according to lymphatic metastasis,were immunohistochemically stained to detect the DNA-PK expression including Ku70,Ku80 and PKcs proteins. Results: Positivity of both Ku70 and Ku80 in colorectal cancer was negatively correlated with lymphatic metastasis with an r value of -0.57 and -0.38,respectively. Similar correlation was found between Ku expression,especially Ku70,and long-term survival. PKcs,however,displayed no significant correlation. Statistical analysis failed to detect any correlation between DNA-PK expression,and clinical characteristics,such as age,sex,tumor location,tumor thickness and distant metastasis (P>0.05). Conclusion: DNA-PK expression,especially Ku70 expression,is negatively correlated with lymphatic metastasis,and the survival of patients with colorectal cancer.
