1Effect of Nitrogen Management on Yield and Water Use Efficiency of Rainfed Wheat and Maize in Northwest China显示文摘A field experiment with four treatments and four replicates in a randomized complete block design was conducted at the Changwu Experimental Station in Changwu County, Shaanxi Province, of Northwest China from 1998 to 2002. The local cropping sequence of wheat, wheat-beans, maize, and wheat over the 4-year period was adopted. A micro-plot study using 15N-labelled fertilizer was carried out to determine the fate of applied N fertilizer in the first year. When N fertilizer was applied wheat (years 1, 2 and 4) and maize (year 3) grain yield increased significantly (P<0.05) (>30%), with no significant yield differences in normal rainfall years (Years 1, 2 and 3) for N application at the commonly application rate and at 2/3 of this rate. Grain yield of wheat varied greatly between years, mainly due to variation in annual rainfall. Results of 15N studies on wheat showed that plants recovered 36.6%-38.4% of the N applied, the N remained in soil (0-40 cm) ranged from 29.2% to 33.6%, and unaccounted-for N was 29.5%-34.2%. 2Changes in China’s lakes: climate and human impacts显示文摘Lakes have played a critical role in providing water and ecosystem services for people and other organisms in China for millennia.However,accelerating climate change and economic boom have resulted in unprecedented changes in these valuable lakes.Using Landsat images covering the entity of the country,we explored the changes in China’s lakes and the associated driving forces over the last 30 years(i.e.mid-1980 s to 2015).We discovered that China’s lakes have changed with divergent regional trends:in the sparsely populated Tibetan Plateau,lakes are abundant and the lake area has increased dramatically from 38596 to46831 km^2(i.e.increased by 8235 km^2,or 21.3%),whereas,in the densely populated northern and eastern regions,lakes are relatively scarce and the lake area has decreased from 36659 to 33657 km^2(i.e.decreased by 3002 km^2,or 8.2%).In particular,severe lake decreases occurred in the Mongolia-Xinjiang Plateau and the Eastern Plain(-2151 km^2).Statistical analyses indicated that climate was the most important factor controlling lake changes in the Tibetan Plateau,the Yun-Gui Plateau and the Northeast Plain.However,the strength of climatic control on lake changes was low in the Eastern Plain and the Mongolia-Xinjiang Plateau,where human activities,e.g.impoldering,irrigation and mining,have caused serious impacts on lakes.Further lake changes will exacerbate regional imbalances between lake resources and population distribution,and thus may increase the risk of water-resource crises in China.Shengli Tao Jingyun Fang Suhui Ma Qiong Cai Xinyu Xiong Di Tian Xia Zhao Leqi Fang Heng Zhang Jiangling Zhu Shuqing Zhao 2020National Science Review2020,7,1:14
3Efficacy and safety of secukinumab in Chinese patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis: a real-life cohort study显示文摘Background:There have been few real-life dose-comparing studies on the efficacy and safety of secukinumab in Chinese patients with plaque psoriasis.We conducted a real-life cohort study to investigate the efficacy and safety of secukinumab 150 and 300 mg in Chinese patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis.Methods:A total of 106 patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis were included in this study.Patients received either secukinumab 150 mg or secukinumab 300 mg according to patients’weights and severity of psoriasis.The treatment continued for at least 24 weeks.The efficacy was evaluated by improvement in the psoriasis area and severity index(PASI)scores.The safety was also analyzed.Results:Fifty-nine patients(55.7%)were treated with secukinumab 300 mg and 47 patients(44.3%)were treated with secukinumab 150 mg.After 12-week treatment,PASI75/90/100 responses were achieved in 100%,97.8%,and 95.7%of patients,respectively,in secukinumab 150 mg group,and the efficacy was maintained to week 24.In secukinumab 300 mg group,PASI75/90/100 responses were achieved in 93.2%,81.4%,and 76.3%of patients,respectively,at week 12.In this group,PASI75/90/100 responses reached 91.5%,86.4%,and 79.9%,respectively,at week 24.Biologic-experienced patients had lower responses than biologic-naïve patients.Secukinumab 150 and 300 mg were well tolerated.Five patients discontinued treatment due to poor response,adverse event,or economic reasons.Conclusions:This real-life study demonstrated that high PASI 90 and PASI 100 responses were achieved in Chinese psoriasis patients receiving secukinumab 150 or 300 mg.Biologic-naïve was associated with better clinical efficacy.Yan Zhao Lin Cai Xiao-Yang Liu Heng Zhang Jian-Zhong Zhang 2021Chinese Medical Journal2021,,11:10

6The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. 10Cratering process and morphological features of the Xiuyan impact crater in Northeast China显示文摘By using crater impact morphological theory and mathematics modeling,the paper studies the cratering process and morphological features of the Xiuyan Crater in Northeast China based on remote sensing imagery,digital elevation model(DEM)and drilling and measuring data.The results show that:1)Simulated calculation indicates the diameter of the transient crater was1406±12 m and the depth was 497±4 m.The diameter of the final crater was 1758±15 m and the depth was 374.5±3.5 m;the thickness of the breccia lens was 188.5±0.5 m.The data is basically the same as previous drilling data.2)Preliminary determination of the size of Xiuyan impactor:The diameter at about 55 m for an iron meteorite,and about 115 m for a stony meteorite.3)The depth-to-diameter ratio is 0.143,similar to the typical simple crater.The circularity index of the Xiuyan Crater is0.884,indicating erosion and degradation.4)The distribution pattern of radial fractures has priority in NW-SE and WNW-ESE and these fractures control the development and evolution of drainage inside the crater.WANG XinYuan LUO Lei GUO HuaDong MU LingLi LI Chao JI Wei CAI Heng 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,10:4
11Effective combined therapy for pulmonary epithelioid hemangioendothelioma: A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Pulmonary epithelioid hemangioendothelioma(P-EHE)is a rare disease.Thus far,consensus on a standard treatment for P-EHE has not been established given its low incidence worldwide.Apatinib combined with chemotherapy with doxorubicin/cyclophosphamide has been used as an effective combination treatment for human malignancies.However,the efficacy of this combination has not been reported in P-EHE cases.CASE SUMMARY We present the case of a 64-year-old woman with chest tightness,cough,and chest pain.Computed tomography showed multiple unresectable pulmonary nodules.She had been misdiagnosed with lung carcinoma and underwent gefitinib treatment at a hospital.Subsequently,the patient underwent a cardiothoracic surgery for further disease investigation.CD31,CD34,and Vimentin expression were detected in the resected nodule specimens by immunohistochemical analyses,and pathological analyses confirmed the diagnosis of P-EHE.Following this,four cycles of apatinib combined with chemotherapy with doxorubicin/cyclophosphamide were initiated.The patient demonstrated stabilization of multiple bilateral nodules and showed a dramatic improvement in the clinical presentation after combination treatment.The patient could not tolerate the side effects of chemotherapy.Therefore,she then continued apatinib monotherapy,which is ongoing to date.The patient was stable at the last follow-up after 24 mo.CONCLUSION Apatinib combined with chemotherapy with doxorubicin/cyclophosphamide may be an effective therapeutic option for P-EHE treatment.Xiu-Qin Zhang Heng Chen Shu Song Yan Qin Li-Ming Cai Fang Zhang 2020World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,10:3

In this paper,an automatic surface inspection system( ASIS) based on signal processing in Baosteel NO. 4 cold-rolled plant is briefly presented. 15Impacts of human interventions on the seasonal and nodal dynamics of the M_(2)and K_(1)tidal constituents in Lingdingyang Bay of the Zhujiang River Delta,China显示文摘Natural and human-induced changes may exert considerable impacts on the seasonal and nodal dynamics of M2 and K1 tidal constituents.Therefore,quantifying the influences of these factors on tidal regime changes is essential for sustainable water resources management in coastal environments.In this study,the enhanced harmonic analysis was applied to extract the seasonal variability of the M2 and K1 tidal amplitudes and phases at three gauging stations along Lingdingyang Bay of the Zhujiang River Delta.The seasonal dynamics in terms of tidal wave celerity and amplification/damping rate were used to quantify the impacts of human-induced estuarine morphological alterations on M2 and K1 tidal hydrodynamics in inner and outer Lingdingyang Bay.The results show that both tidal amplification/damping rate and wave celerity were considerably increased from the pre-anthropogenic activity period(Pre-AAP)to the post-anthropogenic activity period(Post-AAP)excepting the tidal amplification/damping rate in outer Lingdingyang Bay,and the variations in outer Lingdingyang Bay was larger than those in inner Lingdingyang Bay.The alterations in these two parameters were more significant in flood season than in dry season in both inner and outer Lingdingyang Bay.The seasonal variability of M2 and K1 tidal amplitudes were further quantified using a regression model accounting for the 18.61-year lunar nodal modulation,where this study observes a considerable alteration in M2 constituent owing to human interventions.During the Post-AAP,the M2 amplitudes at the downstream station were larger than those that would have occurred in the absence of strong human interventions,whereas the opposite was true for the upstream station,leading to a substantial decrease in tidal amplification in outer Lingdingyang Bay.However,it is opposite in inner Lingdingyang Bay.The underlying mechanism can be primarily attributed to channel deepening and narrowing caused by human interventions,that resulted in substantial enlargement of the bay volume and reduced the effective bottom friction,leading to faster wave celerity and stronger amplified waves.Ping Zhang Qingshu Yang Haidong Pan Heng Wang Meifang Xie Huayang Cai Nanyang Chu Liangwen Jia 2021Acta Oceanologica Sinica2021,40,10:2
16The relationships among structure variables of larch forests in China显示文摘Background:Larch(Larix Mill.)forests are widely distributed in the upper parts of mountainous areas in China,playing vital roles in constructing mountain landscapes and maintaining mountain environments.Despite their importance,our knowledges on the large-scale patterns of structure characteristics and the relationships between different structure variables are unclear.In this paper,we investigated 155 plots from 11 natural larch forest types across the country to explore the biogeographic patterns of the structure characteristics and the allometric relationships between different structure variables for Chinese larch forests.Results:The structure characteristics were significantly different among larch forest types.For different larch forest types,the power function fits the relationships between tree height and diameter at breast height(DBH),average DBH and stem density,and taper and stem density well,but with different exponents among larch forest types.The power exponents of the allometric relationships between tree height and DBH for different larch forest types varied from 0.61 to 0.93(mean=0.86)by standard major axis regression(SMA),and from 0.51 to 0.78(mean=0.56)by ordinary least square regression(OLS).The 50%,75%and 95%quantile regression(QR)and OLS indicated that the average DBH and taper of the L.gmelinii forests,L.gmelinii var.principis-rupprechtii forests,and L.sibirica forests were significantly correlated with stem density.Conclusions:The relationship between tree height and DBH showed a power function relationship for all larch forest types in China,but with different exponents.Overall,stem density was negatively correlated with average DBH and taper.The Sect.Larix forests exhibited stand density effect.Our findings provide an important basis for recognizing the biogeographic patterns of structure factors and for the management of larch forests in China.Wenjing Fang Qing Zhao Qiong Cai Anwar Eziz Guoping Chen Yuhao Feng Heng Zhang Jiangling Zhu Chengjun Ji Zhiyao Tang Jingyun Fang 2020Forest Ecosystems2020,7,4:2

18Distributions and air-sea fluxes of CO_2 in the summer Bering Sea显示文摘The 3rd Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition(CHINARE–Arctic III) was carried out from July to September in 2008. The partial pressure of CO2(pCO2) in the atmosphere and in surface seawater were determined in the Bering Sea during July 11–27, 2008, and a large number of seawater samples were taken for total alkalinity(TA) and total dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC) analysis. The distributions of CO2 parameters in the Bering Sea and their controlling factors were discussed. The pCO2 values in surface seawater presented a drastic variation from 148 to 563 μatm(1 μatm = 1.013 25×10-1 Pa). The lowest pCO2 values were observed near the Bering Sea shelf break while the highest pCO2 existed at the western Bering Strait. The Bering Sea generally acts as a net sink for atmospheric CO2 in summer. The air-sea CO2 fluxes in the Bering Sea shelf, slope, and basin were estimated at-9.4,-16.3, and-5.1 mmol/(m2·d), respectively. 19Stress triggering of the Lushan M7. 0 earthquake by the Wenchuan Ms8. 0 earthquake显示文摘The Wenchuan Ms8.0 earthquake and the Lushan M7.0 earthquake occurred in the north and south segments of the Longmenshan nappe tectonic belt,respectively.Based on the focal mechanism and finite fault model of the Wenchuan Ms8.0 earthquake,we calculated the coulomb failure stress change.The inverted coulomb stress changes based on the Nishimura and Chenji models both show that the Lushan M7.0 earthquake occurred in the increased area of coulomb failure stress induced by the Wenchuan Ms8.0 earthquake.The coulomb failure stress increased by approximately 0.135-0.152 bar in the source of the Lushan M7.0earthquake,which is far more than the stress triggering threshold.Therefore,the Lushan M7.0 earthquake was most likely triggered by the coulomb failure stress change.Wu Jianchao Yu Song Cai Yongjian Lei Dongning Li Heng 2013Geodesy and Geodynamics2013,4,3:2
20Decoding Cortical Glial Cell Development显示文摘Mouse cortical radial glial cells(RGCs)are primary neural stem cells that give rise to cortical oligodendrocytes,astrocytes,and olfactory bulb(OB)GABAergic interneurons in late embryogenesis.There are fundamental gaps in understanding how these diverse cell subtypes are generated.Here,by combining single-cell RNA-Seq with intersectional lineage analyses,we show that beginning at around E16.5,neocortical RGCs start to generate ASCL1^(+)EGFR^(+)apical multipotent intermediate progenitors(MIPCs),which then differentiate into basal MIPCs that express ASCL1,EGFR,OLIG2,and MKI67.These basal MIPCs undergo several rounds of divisions to generate most of the cortical oligodendrocytes and astrocytes and a subpopulation of OB interneurons.Finally,single-cell ATAC-Seq supported our model for the genetic logic underlying the specification and differentiation of cortical glial cells and OB interneurons.Taken together,this work reveals the process of cortical radial glial cell lineage progression and the developmental origins of cortical astrocytes and oligodendrocytes.Xiaosu Li Guoping Liu Lin Yang Zhenmeiyu Li Zhuangzhi Zhang Zhejun Xu Yuqun Cai Heng Du Zihao Su Ziwu Wang Yangyang Duan Haotian Chen Zicong Shang Yan You Qi Zhang Miao He Bin Chen Zhengang Yang 2021Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,4:2
