Fourteen days after the simulation operation, EA and acupotomy treatments were applied to the respective groups. Fifty-six days afterthe simulation operation, biochemistry tests and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were used to measure NOS and β-EP in the hypothalamus, spinal cord, and peripheral blood.RESULTS: Rats with the simulation operation showed significantly higher levels of NOS and β-EP in the hypothalamus, spinal cord, and peripheral blood than those in the normal group. The EA and acupotomy groups had significantly lower levels of NOS and β-EP than those in the model group. There was no statistical difference between the EA and acupotomy groups.CONCLUSION: EA and acupotomy treatments significantly lowered NOS and β-EP levels in the hypothalamus, spinal cord, and peripheral blood and alleviated L3transverse process syndrome. | Changqing Guo Naigang Liu Xiaohong Li Hongmei Sun Bo Hu Jing Lu Yan Guo Chuxi Liang Hong Xu Haixia Wu | 2014 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,2: | 15 |
Smart metasurface with self-adaptively reprogrammable functions显示文摘Intelligence at either the material or metamaterial level is a goal that researchers have been pursuing. From passive to active, metasurfaces have been developed to be programmable to dynamically and arbitrarily manipulate electromagnetic(EM)wavefields. However, the programmable metasurfaces require manual control to switch among different functionalities. Here,we put forth a smart metasurface that has self-adaptively reprogrammable functionalities without human participation. The smart metasurface is capable of sensing ambient environments by integrating an additional sensor(s)and can adaptively adjust its EM operational functionality through an unmanned sensing feedback system. As an illustrative example,we experimentally develop a motion-sensitive smart metasurface integrated with a three-axis gyroscope, which can adjust self-adaptively the EM radiation beams via different rotations of the metasurface. We develop an online feedback algorithm as the control software to make the smart metasurface achieve single-beam and multibeam steering and other dynamic reactions adaptively. The proposed metasurface is extendable to other physical sensors to detect the humidity, temperature, illuminating light, and so on.Our strategy will open up a new avenue for future unmanned devices that are consistent with the ambient environment. | Qian Ma Guo Dong Bai Hong Bo Jing Cheng Yang Lianlin Li Tie Jun Cui | 2019 | Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1: | 13

Progress in ceramic materials and structure design toward advanced thermal barrier coatings显示文摘Thermal barrier coatings(TBCs)can effectively protect the alloy substrate of hot components in aeroengines or land-based gas turbines by the thermal insulation and corrosion/erosion resistance of the ceramic top coat. However, the continuous pursuit of a higher operating temperature leads to degradation, delamination, and premature failure of the top coat. Both new ceramic materials and new coating structures must be developed to meet the demand for future advanced TBC systems. In this paper, the latest progress of some new ceramic materials is first reviewed. Then,a comprehensive spalling mechanism of the ceramic top coat is summarized to understand the dependence of lifetime on various factors such as oxidation scale growth, ceramic sintering, erosion, and calcium–magnesium–aluminium–silicate(CMAS)molten salt corrosion. Finally, new structural design methods for high-performance TBCs are discussed from the perspectives of lamellar, columnar, and nanostructure inclusions. The latest developments of ceramic top coat will be presented in terms of material selection, structural design, and failure mechanism, and the comprehensive guidance will be provided for the development of next-generation advanced TBCs with higher temperature resistance, better thermal insulation, and longer lifetime. | Zhi-Yuan WEI Guo-Hui MENG Lin CHEN Guang-Rong LI Mei-Jun LIU Wei-Xu ZHANG Li-Na ZHAO Qiang ZHANG Xiao-Dong ZHANG Chun-Lei WAN Zhi-Xue QU Lin CHEN Jing FENG Ling LIU Hui DONG Ze-Bin BAO Xiao-Feng ZHAO Xiao-Feng ZHANG Lei GUO Liang WANG Bo CHENG Wei-Wei ZHANG Peng-Yun XU Guan-Jun YANG Hong-Neng CAI Hong CUI You WANG Fu-Xing YE Zhuang MA Wei PAN Min LIU Ke-Song ZHOU Chang-Jiu LI | 2022 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2022,11,7: | 9
Novel Ru - K/Carbon Nanotubes Catalyst for Ammonia Synthesis显示文摘A novel ammonia synthesis catalyst, potassium-promoted ruthenium supported on carbon nanotubes, was developed. It was found that the Ru-K/carbon nanotubes catalyst had higher activity for ammonia synthesis (20.85 ml NH3/h/g-cat ) than the Ru-K/fullerenes (13.3 ml NH3/h/g-cat ) at atmospheric pressure and 623 K. The catalyst had activity even at 473 K. and had the highest activity (23.46 ml NH3/h/g-cat ) at 643 K. It was suggested that the multi-walled structure favored the electron transfer the hydrogen-storage and the hydrogen-spill which were favorable to ammonia synthesis. | Yun CAI Jing Dong LIN Hong Bo CHEN Hong Bin ZHANG Guo Dong LIN Dai Wei LIAO (State Key Lab of Physical Chemistry on Solid Surfaces. | 9 | Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear. Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks. Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease, while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes. | MA Yan ZHU Dong Shan CHEN Ren Bo SHI Nan Nan LIU Si Hong FAN Yi Pin WU Gui Hui YANG Pu Ye BAI Jiang Feng CHEN Hong CHEN Li Ying FENG Qiao GUO Tuan Mao HOU Yong HU Gui Fen HU Xiao Mei HU Yun Hong HUANG Jin HUANG Qiu Hua HUANG Shao Zhen JI Liang JIN Hai Hao LEI Xiao LI Chun Yan LI Min Qing LI Qun Tang LI Xian Yong LIU Hong De LIU Jin Ping LIU Zhang MA Yu Ting MAO Ya MO Liu Fen NA Hui WANG Jing Wei SONG Fang Li SUN Sheng WANG Dong Ting WANG Ming Xuan WANG Xiao Yan WANG Yin Zhen WANG Yu Dong WU Wei WU Lan Ping XIAO Yan Hua XIE Hai Jun XU Hong Ming XU Shou Fang XUE Rui Xia YANG Chun YANG Kai Jun YUAN Sheng Li ZHANG Gong Qi ZHANG Jin Bo ZHANG Lin Song ZHAO Shu Sen ZHAO Wan Ying ZHENG Kai ZHOU Ying Chun ZHU Jun Teng ZHU Tian Qing ZHANG Hua Min WANG Yan Ping WANG Yong Yan 无 | 2020 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2020,33,12: | 8
Real-time Microwave Exposure Induces Calcium Efflux in Primary Hippocampal Neurons and Primary Cardiomyocytes显示文摘Objective To detect the effects of microwave on calcium levels in primary hippocampal neurons and primary cardiomyocytes by the real-time microwave exposure combined with laser scanning confocal microscopy. Methods The primary hippocampal neurons and primary cardiomyocytes were cultured and labeled with probes, including Fluo-4 AM, Mag-Fluo-AM, and Rhod-2, to reflect the levels of whole calcium [Ca^(2+)], endoplasmic reticulum calcium [Ca^(2+)]ER, and mitochondrial calcium [Ca^(2+)]MIT, respectively. Then, the cells were exposed to a pulsed microwave of 2.856 GHz with specific absorption rate(SAR) values of 0, 4, and 40 W/kg for 6 min to observe the changes in calcium levels. Results The results showed that the 4 and 40 W/kg microwave radiation caused a significant decrease in the levels of [Ca^(2+)], [Ca^(2+)]ER, and [Ca^(2+)]MIT in primary hippocampal neurons. In the primary cardiomyocytes, only the 40 W/kg microwave radiation caused the decrease in the levels of [Ca^(2+)], [Ca^(2+)]ER, and [Ca^(2+)]MIT. Primary hippocampal neurons were more sensitive to microwave exposure than primary cardiomyocytes. The mitochondria were more sensitive to microwave exposure than the endoplasmic reticulum. Conclusion The calcium efflux was occurred during microwave exposure in primary hippocampal neurons and primary cardiomyocytes. Additionally, neurons and mitochondria were sensitive cells and organelle respectively. | WANG Hui ZHANG Jing HU Shao Hua TAN Sheng Zhi ZHANG Bo ZHOU Hong Mei PENG Rui Yun | 2018 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2018,31,8: | 7

Emerging Flexible Thermally Conductive Films:Mechanism,Fabrication,Application显示文摘Effective thermal management is quite urgent for electronics owing to their ever-growing integration degree, operation frequency and power density, and the main strategy of thermal management is to remove excess energy from electronics to outside by thermal conductive materials.Compared to the conventional thermal management materials, flexible thermally conductive films with high in-plane thermal conductivity,as emerging candidates, have aroused greater interest in the last decade, which show great potential in thermal management applications of next-generation devices. However,a comprehensive review of flexible thermally conductive films is rarely reported. Thus,we review recent advances of both intrinsic polymer films and polymer-based composite films with ultrahigh in-plane thermal conductivity, with deep understandings of heat transfer mechanism, processing methods to enhance thermal conductivity, optimization strategies to reduce interface thermal resistance and their potential applications.Lastly, challenges and opportunities for the future development of flexible thermally conductive films are also discussed. | Chang‑Ping Feng Fang Wei Kai‑Yin Sun Yan Wang Hong‑Bo Lan Hong‑Jing Shang Fa‑Zhu Ding Lu Bai Jie Yang Wei Yang | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,8: | 6

Back-n white neutron source at CSNS and its applications显示文摘Back-streaming neutrons from the spallation target of the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS)that emit through the incoming proton channel were exploited to build a white neutron beam facility(the so-called Back-n white neutron source),which was completed in March 2018.The Back-n neutron beam is very intense,at approximately 29107 n/cm2/s at 55 m from the target, and has a nominal proton beam with a power of 100 kW in the CSNS-I phase and a kinetic energy of 1.6 GeV and a thick tungsten target in multiple slices with modest moderation from the cooling water through the slices. In addition, the excellent energy spectrum spanning from 0.5 eV to 200 MeV,and a good time resolution related tothe time-of-flight measurements make it a typical white neutron source for nuclear data measurements;its overall performance is among that of the best white neutron sources in the world.Equipped with advanced spectrometers, detectors, and application utilities, the Back-n facility can serve wide applications, with a focus on neutron-induced cross-sectional measurements. This article presents an overview of the neutron beam characteristics, the experimental setups, and the ongoing applications at Backn. | Jing-Yu Tang Qi An Jiang-Bo Bai Jie Bao Yu Bao Ping Cao Hao-Lei Chen Qi-Ping Chen Yong-Hao Chen Zhen Chen Zeng-Qi Cui Rui-Rui Fan Chang-Qing Feng Ke-Qing Gao Xiao-Long Gao Min-Hao Gu Chang-Cai Han Zi-Jie Han Guo-Zhu He Yong-Cheng He Yang Hong Yi-Wei Hu Han-Xiong Huang Xi-Ru Huang Hao-Yu Jiang Wei Jiang Zhi-Jie Jiang Han-Tao Jing Ling Kang Bo Li Chao Li Jia-Wen Li Qiang Li Xiao Li Yang Li Jie Liu Rong Liu Shu-Bin Liu Xing-Yan Liu Ze Long Guang-Yuan Luan Chang-Jun Ning Meng-Chen Niu Bin-Bin Qi Jie Ren Zhi-Zhou Ren Xi-Chao Ruan Zhao-Hui Song Kang Sun Zhi-Jia Sun Zhi-Xin Tan Xin-Yi Tang Bin-Bin Tian Li-Jiao Wang Peng-Cheng Wang Zhao-Hui Wang Zhong-Wei Wen Xiao-Guang Wu Xuan Wu Li-Kun Xie Xiao-Yun Yang Yi-Wei Yang Han Yi Li Yu Tao Yu Yong-Ji Yu Guo-Hui Zhang Lin-Hao Zhang Qi-Wei Zhang Xian-Peng Zhang Yu-Liang Zhang Zhi-Yong Zhang Lu-Ping Zhou Zhi-Hao Zhou Ke-Jun Zhu 无 | 2021 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2021,32,1: | 4

Reversible SUMOylation of FHY1 Regulates Phytochrome A Signaling in Arabidopsis显示文摘In response to far-red light(FR),FAR-RED ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL 1(FHY1)transports the photoactivated phytochrome A(phyA),the primary FR photoreceptor, into the nucleus, where it initiates FR signaling in plants.Light promotes the 26S proteasome-mediated degradation of FHY1,which desensitizes FR signaling, but the underlying regulatory mechanism remains largely unknown. Here,we show that reversible SUMOylation of FHY1 tightly regulates this process.Lysine K32(K32)and K103 are major SUMOylation sites of FHY1.We found that FR exposure promotes the SUMOylation of FHY1,which accelerates its degradation.Furthermore,we discovered that ARABIDOPSIS SUMO PROTEASE 1(ASP1)interacts with FHY1 in the nucleus under FR and facilitates its deSUMOylation.FHY1 was strongly SUMOylated and its protein level was decreased in the asp1-1 loss-of-function mutant compared with that in the wild type under FR.Consistently,asp1-1 seedlings exhibited a decreased sensitivity to FR,suggesting that ASP1 plays an important role in the maintenance of proper FHY1 levels under FR.Genetic analysis further revealed that ASP1 regulates FR signaling through an FHY1-and phyA-dependent pathway.Interestingly,We found that continuous FR inhibits ASP1 accumulation, perhaps contributing to the desensitization of FR signaling.Taken together, these results indicate that FR-induced SUMOylation and ASP1-dependent deSUMOylation of FHY1 represent a key regulatory mechanism that fine-tunes FR signaling. | Gao-Ping Qu Hong Li Xiao-Li Lin Xiangxiong Kong Zi-Liang Hu Yin Hua Jin Yu Liu Hang-Lin Song Dae Heon Kim Rongcheng Lin Jigang Li Jing Bo Jin | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,6: | 3

Effect of 2-(8-hydroxy-6-methoxy-1-oxo-1H-2-benzopyran-3-yl) propionic acid in combination with carboplatin on gastric carcinoma growth in vivo显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effects of 2-(8-hydroxy-6- methoxy-1-oxo-1H-2-benzopyran-3-yl) propionic acid (NM-3) alone and in combination with carboplatin on tumor growth and apoptosis in mouse models of human gastric cancer constructed by subcutaneous implantation of histologically intact tumor tissue. METHODS: Human gastric cancer SGC-7901 tissues were implanted into the dorsal subcutis of nude mice. One week after tumors reached to a volume of 50-100 mm3 for around 1 wk, these mice were randomly divided into 8 groups (n = 10). NM-3 was injected peritoneally at the dose of 10 mg/kg, 20 mg/kg or 40 mg/kg every other day for 5 wk, combined with carboplatin (5 mg/kg) every third day for 4 wk. As controls of combined treatment, another 4 groups of mice were injected with either NM-3 at 10 mg/kg, 20 mg/kg or 40 mg/kg, or with carboplatin alone (5 mg/kg). The control mice received normal saline. Tumor weight, tumor growth inhibition (TGI), and intratumoral microvessel density (MVD) were evaluated. Apoptosis of human gastric cancer was detected by TUNEL method and flow cytometry analysis, respectively. RESULTS: The mean tumor volume (692.40 ± 58.43 mm3, 548.30 ± 66.02 mm3, 382.13 ± 43.52 mm3) after treatment with carboplatin combined NM-3 at the dose of 10 mg/kg, 20 mg/kg or 40 mg/kg was lower than that after treatment with either NM-3 at the dose of 10 mg/kg, 20 mg/kg or 40 mg/kg or with carboplatin alone. Compared with the normal saline group, NM-3 administered at 10 mg/kg, 20 mg/kg or 40 mg/kg significantly reduced the tumor weight in these groups (P < 0.05). Carboplatin used alone at 5 mg/kgshowed minimal effects. But NM-3 in combination with carboplatin had greater effects of tumor weight than either NM-3 or carboplatin alone. NM-3 alone at the dose 10 mg/kg or in combination with carboplatin had no obvious effects on body changes. Two mice died of diarrhea in each of the two groups treated with 40 mg/kg NM-3 or with 40 mg/kg NM-3 in combination with carboplatin. A significant increase in apoptosis was observed in the NM-3 treated groups, and the effect was more significant in the groups treated with carboplatin in combination with NM-3 at 10 mg/kg, 20 mg/kg and 40 mg/kg, than in the control group. The induction of apoptosis was positively associated with the dose of NM-3. NM-3 significantly reduced the neo- microvascular formation of gastric cancer. The MVD was lower in the groups treated with NM-3 or with NM-3 in combination with carboplatin than in the group treated with carboplatin or in the normal saline group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The results suggest that the inhibitory effect of NM-3 on gastric cancer growth is mediated through decreased angiogenesis and the increased induction of apoptosis. Furthermore, NM-3 alone at the dose of 10 mg/kg or in combination with carboplatin has no obvious effects on body changes, indicating that NM-3 in combination with carboplatin may be effective in the treatment of gastric cancer. The toxicity of NM-3 needs further studies. | Jin-Lian Chen Jin-Shui Zhu Jing Hong Ming-Xiang Chen Jin-Lai Lu Wei-Xiong Chen Bo Shen Zu-Ming Zhu Ni-Wei Chen | 2007 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2007,13,4: | 2
Fabrication and Evaluation of Porous Keratin/chitosan(KCS) Scaffolds for Effectively Accelerating Wound Healing显示文摘Objective To develop a dressing with desired antibacterial activity, good water maintaining ability and mechanical properties for wound healing and skin regeneration. Methods The chitosan with different concentrations were added in keratin solution to form porous keratin/chitosan(KCS) scaffolds. The morphological characteristics, chemical composition, wettability, porosity, swelling ratio and degradation of the scaffolds were evaluated. The antibacterial activity was tested by using S. aureus and E. coli suspension for 2 h. And L929 fibroblast cells culture was used to evaluate the cytotoxicity of the KCS scaffolds. Results The adding of chitosan could increase the hydrophobicity, decrease porosity, swelling ratio and degradation rate of the KCS porous scaffolds. Mechanical properties of KCS scaffolds could be enhanced and well adjusted by chitosan. KCS scaffolds could obviously decrease bacteria number. The proliferation of fibroblast cells in porous KCS patch increased firstly and then decreased with the increase of chitosan concentration. It was appropriate to add 400 μg/m L chitosan to form porous KCS scaffold for achieving best cell attachment and proliferation compared with other samples. Conclusion The porous KCS scaffold may be used as implanted scaffold materials for promoting wound healing and skin regeneration. | TAN Hong Bo WANG Fu You DING Wei ZHANG Ying DING Jing CAI Di Xin YU Kai Fu YANG Jun YANG Liu XU Yong Qing | 2015 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2015,28,3: | 2
