2Prevalence of Thyroid Nodules and Its Relationship with Iodine Status in Shanghai:a Population-based Study显示文摘Objective This study was designed to evaluate the prevalence of thyroid nodules(TNs) and its relationship with urine iodine concentrations(UICs) after the regional rapid economic growth and lifestyle changes. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted in the general population aged 15-69 years. A questionnaire regarding general and personal characteristics and relevant information was administered. Ultrasonography of the thyroid was performed, and serum triiodothyronine(T3), tetraiodothyronine(T4), serum thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH), free triiodothyronine(FT3), free tetraiodothyronine(FT4), thyroglobulin antibody(Tg Ab), thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb), and TSH receptor antibody(TRAb) levels were measured for each individual subject. Results The prevalence rates of TNs in the whole population, females and males were 27.76%, 34.04%, and 21.60%, respectively. The prevalence of multiple nodules increased with age, whereas the prevalence peaks differed between males and females. The median UICs in the whole population and females with non-TNs were higher than those of subjects with TNs(P=0.0035, P=0.0068). The median UICs in subjects with a single TN were higher than those in subjects with multiple TNs(P=0.0164, P=0.0127). The result showed a U-shaped curve relationship between UIC and prevalence of TNs. The prevalence of TNs was the lowest when the UIC was 140-400 μg/L. Conclusion The prevalence of TNs was nearly 30% and increased with age. The relationship between UIC and prevalence of TNs is U-shaped, with an increase in risk when the UIC was <140 μg/L and >400 μg/L. 6Optimization of acidic extraction of astaxanthin from Phaffia rhodozyma显示文摘Optimization of a process for extracting astaxanthin from Phaffia rhodozyma by acidic method was investigated,regarding several extraction factors such as acids,organic solvents,temperature and time. Fractional factorial design,central composite design and response surface methodology were used to derive a statistically optimal model,which corresponded to the following optimal condition: concentration of lactic acid at 5.55 mol/L,ratio of ethanol to yeast dry weight at 20.25 ml/g,tem-perature for cell-disruption at 30 °C,and extraction time for 3 min. Under this condition,astaxanthin and the total carotenoids could be extracted in amounts of 1294.7 μg/g and 1516.0 μg/g,respectively. This acidic method has advantages such as high extraction efficiency,low chemical toxicity and no special requirement of instruments. 7LORELEI-LIKE GPI-ANCHORED PROTEINS 2/3 Regulate Pollen Tube Growth as Chaperones and Coreceptors for ANXUR/BUPS Receptor Kinases in Arabidopsis显示文摘Pollen tube growth is crucial for successful fertilization.In Arabidopsis thaliana,the ANXUR(ANX)/BUPS receptor kinase complex controls and maintains pollen tube growth in response to autocrine rapid alkalin-ization factor 4/19(RALF4/19)signaling;however,the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the ANX/BUPS-mediated regulation of pollen tube growth remain unclear.In this study,we found that pollen-specific LORELEI-like GPI-anchored proteins 2 and 3(LLG2/3)promote pollen tube growth in vitro and in vivo.LLG2/3 interacte with ANX/BUPS in a RALF4-concentration-dependent manner,suggesting that ANX/BUPS and LLG2/3 might form a receptor-coreceptor complex for perceiving RALF peptide signals.Disruption of the ANX/BUPS-LLG2/3 interaction led to the cytoplasmic retention of ANX1/2,in either llg2/3 knockdown mutants or in anx1/2 mutants lacking the J region,which mediates the ANX/BUPS-LLG2/3 interaction.Moreover,we found that RALF4 induced the production of reactive oxygen species(ROS),which stimulate pollen tube growth and reduce pollen burst rate.ROS levels are reduced in the pollen tubes of LLG2/3 RNAi lines,and application of exogenous H2O2 could partially rescue the defective pollen tube growth of LLG2/3 RNAi lines.Taken together,our study identifies LLG2/3 as novel regulatory components of pollen tube growth,and shows that they chaperone ANX/BUPS for secretion to the apical plasma membrane of pollen tube and act as coreceptors of ANX/BUPS in the acti-vation of ROS production for promoting pollen tube growth.Hanqian Feng Chen Liu Rong Fu Minmin Zhang Hui Li Lianping Shen Qiqi Wei Xiang Sun Lin Xu Bin Ni Chao Li 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,12:10
8High-performance silicon−graphene hybrid plasmonic waveguide photodetectors beyond 1.55μm显示文摘Graphene has attracted much attention for the realization of high-speed photodetection for silicon photonics over a wide wavelength range.However,the reported fast graphene photodetectors mainly operate in the 1.55μm wavelength band.In this work,we propose and realize high-performance waveguide photodetectors based on bolometric/photoconductive effects by introducing an ultrathin wide silicon−graphene hybrid plasmonic waveguide,which enables efficient light absorption in graphene at 1.55μm and beyond.When operating at 2μm,the present photodetector has a responsivity of ~70 mA/W and a setup-limited 3 dB bandwidth of >20 GHz.When operating at 1.55μm,the present photodetector also works very well with a broad 3 dB bandwidth of >40 GHz(setup-limited)and a high responsivity of ~0.4 A/W even with a low bias voltage of−0.3 V.This work paves the way for achieving highresponsivity and high-speed silicon-graphene waveguide photodetection in the near/mid-infrared ranges,which has applications in optical communications,nonlinear photonics,and on-chip sensing.Jingshu Guo Jiang Li Chaoyue Liu Yanlong Yin Wenhui Wang Zhenhua Ni Zhilei Fu Hui Yu Yang Xu Yaocheng Shi Yungui Ma Shiming Gao Limin Tong Daoxin Dai 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:10
9NEAT1/miR-140-3p/MAPK1 mediates the viability and survival of coronary endothelial cells and affects coronary atherosclerotic heart disease显示文摘Studies have shown that long non-coding RNAs(lncRNA)play critical roles in coronary atherosclerotic heart disease(CAD).However,the function of lncRNA nuclear enriched abundant transcript 1(NEAT1)in CAD is unclear.In this study,we aimed to investigate the functions of lncRNA NEAT1 in CAD.RTPCR and western blot analysis were carried out to examine the expressions of related RNAs.Colony formation assay,cell proliferation assay,apoptosis assay,and dual-luc讦erase reporter assay were con ducted to investigate the abilities of colony migration,cell proliferatio n,apoptosis,and targeting.The results showed that NEAT1 was up-regulated in CAD blood samples and in human coronary endothelial cells(HCAECs).Transfection of pcNEATI sign讦icantly inhibited the survival rate of HCAECs and induced apoptosis of HCAECs.MiR-140-3p was down-regulated in HCAECs.NEAT1 directly targeted miR-140-3p,and the expression of miR-140-3p was inversely correlated with the expression of NEAT1 in CAD patients.In addition,co-transfection of NEAT1 with miR-140-3p mimic reversed the effect of pcNEATI on cell viability and apoptosis,mitogenactivated protein kinase 1(MAPK1)was proved to be a target gene of miR-140-3p,and the miR-140-3p mimic was shown to reduce the expression of MAPK1 in HCAECs.pcNEATI sigrdficantly increased the expression level of MAPK1,while shNEATI significantly reduced the expression level of MAPK1.Our results revealed that lncRNA NEAT1 increased cell viability and inhibited CAD cell apoptosis possibly by activating the miR-140-3p/MAPK1 pathway,and lncRNA NEAT1 might serve as a potential therapeutic target for CAD.Hui Zhang Ningning Ji Xinyan Gong Shimao Ni Yu Wang 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,9:9

11TDOA Localization Algorithm with Compensation of Clock Offset for Wireless Sensor Networks显示文摘This paper presents a source localization algorithm based on the source signal's time-difference-of-arrival(TDOA) for asynchronous wireless sensor network.To obtain synchronization among anchors,all anchors broadcast signals periodically,the clock offsets and skews of anchor pairs can be estimated using broadcasting signal's time-of-arrivals(TOA) at anchors.A kalman filter is adopted to improve the accuracy of clock offsets and track the clock drifts due to random fluctuations.Once the source transmits signal,the TOAs at anchors are stamped respectively and source's TDOA error due to clock offset and skew of anchor pair can be mitigated by a compensation operation.Based on a Gaussian noise model,maximum likelihood estimation(MLE) for the source position is obtained.Performance issues are addressed by evaluating the Cramer-Rao lower bound and the selection of broadcasting period.The proposed algorithm is simple and effective,which has close performance with synchronous TDOA algorithm.XIONG Hui CHEN Zhiyuan YANG Beiya NI Rongpei 2015China Communications2015,12,10:8

14No expenditure difference among patients with liver cancer at stageⅠ-ⅣV:Findings from a multicenter cross-sectional study in China显示文摘Objective:The number of liver cancer patients in China accounts for more than half of the world.However,China currently lacks national,multicenter economic burden data,and meanwhile,measuring the differences among different subgroups will be informative to formulate corresponding policies in liver cancer control.Thus,the aim of the study was to measure the economic burden of liver cancer by various subgroups.Methods:A hospital-based,multicenter and cross-sectional survey was conducted during 2012・2014,covering 39 hospitals and 21 project sites in 13 provinces across China.The questionnaire covers clinical information,sociology,expenditure,and related variables.All expenditure data were reported in Chinese Yuan(CNY)using 2014 values.Results:A total of 2,223 liver cancer patients were enrolled,of whom 59.61%were late-stage cases(III-IV),and 53.8%were hepatocellular carcinoma.The average total expenditure per liver cancer patient was estimated as 53,220 CNY,including 48,612 CNY of medical expenditures(91.3%)and 4,608 CNY of non-medical expenditures(8.7%).The average total expenditures in stage I,H,m and stage IV were 52,817 CNY,50,877 CNY,50,678 CNY and 54,089 CNY(P>0.05),respectively.Non-medical expenditures including additional meals,additional nutrition care,transportation,accommodation and hired informal nursing were 1,453 CNY,839 CNY,946 CNY,679 CNY and 200 CNY,respectively.The one-year out-of-pocket expenditure of a newly diagnosed patient was 24,953 CNY,and 77.2%of the patients suffered an unmanageable financial burden.Multivariate analysis showed that overall expenditure differed in almost all subgroups(P<0.05),except for sex,clinical stage,and pathologic type.Conclusions:There was no difference in treatment expenditure for liver cancer patients at different clinical stages,which suggests that maintaining efforts on treatment efficacy improvement is important but not enough.To fiirtherly reduce the overall economic burden from liver cancer,more effort should be given to primary and secondary prevention strategies.Haike Lei Lin Lei Jufang Shi Yongzhong Wu Ling Liang Huiyao Huang Mei He Fangzhou Bai Maomao Cao Hui Qiu Yuting Wang Chengcheng Liu Jia Du Hong Wang Yan Zhang Mengdi Cao Ji Peng Ni Li Chunfeng Qu Min Dai Wanqing Chen Jie He 2020Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,4:7
15Optimization of slightly acidic electrolyzed water spray for airborne culturable bacteria reduction in animal housing显示文摘Slightly acidic electrolyzed water(SAEW)spray has been considered as a novel approach for airborne bacteria reduction in animal housing.This study aimed to optimize the operating parameters of SAEW spray based on the size distribution of sprayed aerosols,the available chlorine travelling loss in sprayed aerosols,and the reduction efficiency of airborne culturable bacteria(CB).The optimized operating parameters were the nozzle orifice diameter and the spray pressure.The size distribution characteristics of sprayed SAEW aerosols under different operating parameters were quantified.The pH and available chlorine concentrations of the original SAEW solution and the SAEW aerosols collected at 0 m,0.25 m,0.50 m,0.75 m,and 1.00 m from the spray nozzle head were analyzed.A bioaerosol nebulizing generator was used to simulate animal housing environment in an environmentally-controlled chamber.Six SAEW spray trials under different operating parameters were conducted at a spray dosage of 80 mL/m2 in the chamber.Airborne CB concentrations before and after spray were measured to investigate the reduction efficiency of airborne CB.Dv(50),the volume-based diameter below which 50%of the particle being present,increased with the nozzle orifice diameter and decreased with the spray pressure.The travelling loss of available chlorine in the sprayed SAEW aerosols was greatly dependent on Dv(50).SAEW spray with medium size sprayed aerosols(Dv(50)=86.62μm,67.94μm,and 54.53μm)showed significantly higher airborne CB reduction efficiencies than large(Dv(50)=121.80μm and 96.00μm)or small size aerosols(Dv(50)=42.57μm).The spray operating parameters that provide medium size sprayed aerosols(Dv(50)~60-90μm)are recommended for SAEW spray in animal housing.Zheng Weichao Ni Li Hui Xue Li Baoming Zhang Jiafa 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,4:7
16Correlation between muscular strength and basal nuclei ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke-induced corticospinal tract injury,as detected by diffusion tensor imaging and tractography显示文摘BACKGROUND:Conventional neuroimaging diagnosis does not assist with the monitoring or evaluation of basal nuclei ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke,or motor functional recovery.Magnetic resonance,diffusion tensor imaging,and diffusion tensor tractography have all been used to observe features of cerebral white matter fibrous structures.In addition,diffusion tensor tractography is the only non-invasive imaging method to display the corticospinal tract in vivo.OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the impairment degree of corticospinal tract induced by basal nuclei ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke through the use of magnetic resonance,diffusion tensor imaging,and diffusion tensor tractography,and to analyze the correlation to muscular strength.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A retrospective case analysis was performed at the Department of Medical Imaging,Neurology and Neurosurgery,Fuzhou General Hospital of Nanjing Military Area Command of Chinese PLA between November 2002 and June 2008.PARTICIPANTS:A total of 15 patients with acute or subacute cerebral ischemic stroke and nine with hemorrhagic stroke in the basal nuclei were selected.METHODS:Magnetic resonance,diffusion tensor imaging,and diffusion tensor tractography results and data were analyzed.Fractional anisotropy and directionally encoded color maps were obtained.Three-dimensional tractography of bilateral corticospinal tract was created,and corticospinal tract integrity was graded.Fractional anisotropy of infarct region and corresponding contralateral normal regions were measured,and hematoma volume in hemorrhagic stroke patients was determined.Hand motor function ability was evaluated using Brunstorm criteria.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Fractional anisotropy of infarct region and corresponding contralateral normal regions;hematoma volume in hemorrhagic stroke patients;correlation between muscular strength and corticospinal tract impairment degree in ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke patients before and after treatment.RESULTS:In ischemic stroke patients,the fractional anisotropy value was significantly lower in the infarct area of white matter than in the normal hemisphere(P < 0.01).The impairment degree of corticospinal tract negatively correlated with muscular strength of the corresponding hand(r =-0.97 P < 0.01).The hematoma volume of hemorrhagic stroke patients significantly negatively correlated with Spearman test results for muscular strength of the corresponding hand(r =-0.88,P < 0.01).CONCLUSION:Corticospinal tract impairment severity negatively correlated with muscular strength and motor functional recovery,which suggested that diffusion tensor imaging and diffusion tensor tractography could be used to evaluate corticospinal tract motor function.Shangwen Xu Ziqian Chen Jinhua Chen Youqiang Ye Yuning Lin Ping Ni Hui Xiao Gennian Qian 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,13:7
17Anti-inflammatory and Anti-oxidant Effects of Licorice Flavonoids on Ulcerative Colitis in Mouse Model显示文摘Licorice(Glycyrrhizae Radix or Liquiritiae Radix) is traditionally used to treat various diseases including inflammation and gastric ulcers. Licorice is rich in flavonoid compounds and possesses anti-inflammatory activities. To investigate the protective effects of licorice flavonoids(LFs) in both acetic acid-induced and dextran sulphate sodium(DSS)-induced ulcerative colitis(UC) mouse model and its underlying mechanism. Acute UC was induced by intra-rectal acetic acid(4% v/v) after pretreatment with LFs(100, 200, and 400 mg/kg, p.o.), 0.9% saline(20 mL/kg, p.o.) or Sulfasalazine(SASP)(600 mg/kg, p.o.) for 10 d. Quantitative analysis of chemical components of LFs was also conducted by HPLC. Our results showed that pre-treatment with LFs significantly reduced the wet weight/length ratio of colon, percentage of affected area, macroscopic and histological damage scores in acid-induced UC mice. LFs also significantly decreased the oxidative stress and pro-inflammatory cytokines, upregulated nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2) pathway and downregulated nuclear transcription factor kappa B(NF-κB) pathway. At last, LFs also showed obvious antiulcer effect on the DSS-induced UC model. The major components of LFs were licochalcone A, glabrone, licoflavone, and licoflavone B. 19Studies on optimization of nitrogen sources for astaxanthin production by Phaffia rhodozyma显示文摘Fermentation of Phaffia rhodozyma is a major method for producing astaxanthin, an important pigment with industrial and pharmaceutical application. To improve astaxanthin productivity, single factor and mixture design experiments were used to investigate the effects of nitrogen source on Phaffia rhodozyma cultivation and astaxanthin production. Results of single factor experiments showed nitrogen source could significantly affect P. rhodozyma cultivation with respect to carbon source utilization, yeast growth and astaxanthin accumulation. Further studies of mixture design experiments using (NH4)2SO4, KNO3 and beef extract as nitrogen sources indicated that the proportion of three nitrogen sources was very important to astaxanthin production. Validation experiments showed that the optimal nitrogen source was composed of 0.28 g/L (NH4)2SO4, 0.49 g/L KNO3 and 1.19 g/L beef extract. The kinetic characteristics of batch cultivation were investigated in a 5-L pH-stat fermentor. 20Effect of high magnetic field on the crystallization of Nd_2Fe_(14)B/α-Fe nanocomposite magnets显示文摘Nd8.1Dy0.9Fe76.95Co8.55B5.5 nanocomposite magnets annealed with and without a 10 T magnetic field were inves-tigated in this article. The ribbons with coexisting amorphous and crystalline phases were selected to do this study. The re-sults of M?ssbauer spectroscopy revealed that the content of α-Fe increased when annealed in high strength magnetic field. The size of the grains also increased considerably after the application of magnetic annealing.
