4Progress in the stratigraphy and geochronology of the Shuidonggou site,Ningxia,North China显示文摘In the past years we carried out further stratigraphy division in field and it is found that rich stone artifacts can be found in fluvial-shallow lake-alluvial sediments on the terrace Ⅱ of Biangou River, in Shuidonggou site, Ningxia and they are SDG1, 2 and 7. More luminescence and AMS 14C dating in laboratory show that Paleolithic culture develops during the Upper Paleolithic period with ages of 35―20 ka. The Paleolithic culture of SDG 1 is a little earlier than that of SDG 2 similar to SDG 7. The sandy sediments on terrace Ⅱ of Biangou River deposits in the past 72―18 ka, corresponding to Last Glacial. 5The High Energy X-ray telescope (HE) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Insight-Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(Insight-HXMT) is a broadband X-ray and γ-ray(1-3000 ke V) astronomy satellite. One of its three main telescopes is the High Energy X-ray telescope(HE). The main detector plane of HE comprises 18 Na I(Tl)/Cs I(Na) phoswich detectors, where Na I(Tl) is used as the primary detector to measure ~ 20-250 ke V photons incident from the field of view(FOV) defined by collimators, and Cs I(Na) is used as the active shielding detector to Na I(Tl) by pulse shape discrimination. Additionally, Cs I(Na) is used as an omnidirectional γ-ray monitor. The HE collimators have a diverse FOV,i.e. 1.1°×5.7°(15 units), 5.7°×5.7°(2 units), and blocked(1 unit). Therefore, the combined FOV of HE is approximately5.7°×5.7°. Each HE detector has a diameter of 190 mm resulting in a total geometrical area of approximately 5100 cm2, and the energy resolution is ~15% at 60 ke V. For each recorded X-ray event by HE, the timing accuracy is less than 10 μs and the deadtime is less than 10 μs. HE is used for observing spectra and temporal variability of X-ray sources in the 20-250 ke V band either by pointing observations for known sources or scanning observations to unveil new sources. Additionally, HE is used for monitoring the γ-ray burst in 0.2-3 Me V band. 7An ACCUMULATION AND REPLICATION OF CHLOROPLASTS 5 gene mutation confers light green peel in cucumber显示文摘The peel color of fruit is an important commercial trait in cucumber,but the underlying molecular basis is largely unknown.A mutant showing light green exocarp was discovered from ethyl methane sulfonate(EMS) mutagenized cucumber line 406 with dark green exocarp.Genetic analysis showed the mutant phenotype is conferred by a single recessive gene,here designated as lgp(light green peel).By re-sequencing of bulked segregants,we identified the candidate gene Csa7Go51430 encoding ACCUMULATION AND REPLICATION OF CHLOROPLASTS 5(ARC5) that plays a vital role in chloroplast division in Arabidopsis.A single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) causing amino acid alteration in the conserved GTPase domain of Csa7G051430 showed co-segregation with the altered phenotype.Furthermore,the transient RNA interference of this gene resulted in reduced number and enlarged size of chloroplasts,which were also observed in the Igp mutant.This evidence supports that the non-synonymous SNP in Csa7G051430 is the causative mutation for the light green peel.This study provides a new allele for cucumber breeding for light green fruits and additional resource for the study of chloroplast development.Qian Zhou Shenhao Wang Bowen Hu Huiming Chen Zhonghua Zhang Sanwen Huang 2015Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2015,57,11:6

11Injectable conductive gelatin methacrylate/oxidized dextran hydrogel encapsulating umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells for myocardial infarction treatment显示文摘Umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells(UCMSCs)transplantation has been proposed as a promising treatment modality for myocardial infarction(MI),but the low retention rate remains a considerable challenge.Injectable natural polymer hydrogels with conductivity ability are highly desirable as cell delivery vehicles to repair infarct myocardium and restore the cardiac function.In this work,we developed a hydrogel system based on gelatin methacrylate(GelMA)and oxidized dextran(ODEX)as cell delivery vehicles for MI.And dopamine could be used as a reductant of graphene oxide(GO)to form reductive GO(rGO).By adjusting the amount of rGO,the conductivity of hydrogels with 0.5 mg/mL rGO concentration(≈10^(-4)S/cm)was similar to that of natural heart tissue.In vitro cell experiments showed that the prepared hydrogels had excellent biocompatibility and cell delivery ability of UCMSCs.More importantly,GelMA-O5/rGO hydrogel could promote UCMSCs growth and proliferation,improve the myocardial differentiation ability of UCMSCs,and up-regulate the expression of cTnI and Cx43.Further in vivo experiments demonstrated that GelMA-O5/rGO/UCMSCs Hydrogel could significantly improve the ejection fraction(EF)of rats and significantly reduce myocardial infarct area compared to PBS group,promote the survival of UCMSCs,enhance the expression level of cTnI and Cx43,and decrease the expression level of caspase-3.The findings of this study suggested that the injectable conductive GelMA-O5/rGO hydrogel encapsulating UCMSCs could improve damaged myocardial tissue and reconstruct myocardial function,which will be a promising therapeutic strategy for cardiac repair.Shuoji Zhu Changjiang Yu Nanbo Liu Mingyi Zhao Zerui Chen Jian Liu Ge Li Huanlei Huang Huiming Guo Tucheng Sun Jimei Chen Jian Zhuang Ping Zhu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,7:4
12Development and molecular analysis of a novel acetohydroxyacid synthase rapeseed mutant with high resistance to sulfonylurea herbicides显示文摘With the increasing promotion of simplified rapeseed cultivation in recent years,the development of cultivars with high resistance to herbicides is urgently needed.We previously developed M342,which shows sulfonylurea herbicide resistance,by targeting acetohydroxyacid synthase(AHAS),a key enzyme in branched-chain amino acid synthesis.In the present study,we used a progeny line derived from M342 for an additional round of ethyl methane sulfonate mutagenesis,yielding the novel mutant DS3,which harbored two mutations in AHAS genes and showed high sulfonylurea resistance.One mutation was the substitution Trp574 Leu,as in M342,according to Arabidopsis protein sequencing.The other site was a newly recognized substitution,Pro197 Leu.A KASP marker targeting Pro197 Leu was developed and reliably predicted the response to sulfonylurea herbicides in the F2 population.The combination of Trp574 Leu and Pro197 Leu in DS3 produced a synergistic effect that greatly increased herbicide resistance.Analysis of the protein structures of AHAS1 and AHAS3 in wild-type and single-gene mutant plants revealed three-dimensional protein conformational changes that could account for differences in herbicide resistance characteristics including toxicity tolerance,AHAS enzyme activity,and AHAS gene expression.Yue Guo Changle Liu Weihua Long Jianqin Gao Jiefu Zhang Song Chen Huiming Pu Maolong Hu 2022The Crop Journal2022,10,1:3

15Techno-economic analysis of MJ class high temperature Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage(SMES) systems applied to renewable power grids显示文摘High temperature Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage(SMES) systems can exchange energy with substantial renewable power grids in a small period of time with very high efficiency. Because of this distinctive feature, they store the abundant wind power when the power network is congested and release the energy back to the system when there is no congestion. However, considering the cost and lifespan of SMES systems, there is an urgent demand to conduct a cost-benefit analysis to justify its role in smart grid development. This study explores the application and performs economic analysis of a 5 MJ SMES in a practical renewable power system in China based on the PSCAD/EMTDC software. An optimal location of SMES in Zhangbei wind farm is presented using real power transmission parameters. The stabilities of the renewable power grid with and without SMES are discussed. In addition, a financial feasibility study is conducted by comparing the cost and the savings from wind power curtailment of deploying SMES and battery. The economic analysis tries to find the balance between SMES investment cost and wind farm operation cost by using real data over a calendar year. The technical analysis can help guide the optimal allocation of SMES for compensating power system instability with substantial wind power. 16A New Gene Conferring the Glabrous Trait in Cucumber Identified Using MutMap显示文摘Tubercles and spines on fruit peel are important commercial traits in cucumber(Cucumis sativus L.). From an ethyl methane sulfonate cucumber mutant library,we discovered a new glabrous mutant that bears no tubercle or spine on fruit peel and fewer and smaller trichomes on the stem and leaves. The new locus is here designated as glabrous2(gl2). Genome sequencing of the mutant and linkage analysis revealed that a non-synonymous mutation in the Csa1G056960 gene rendered the gl2 phenotype. The mutated gene encodes a C-type lectin receptor-like tyrosine protein kinase. The composite possessed excellent kinetic properties even at moderate temperature (393 K) without activation.
