Synthetic hexaploid wheat and its utilization for wheat genetic improvement in China显示文摘Synthetic hexaploid wheat (Triticum turgidum × Aegilops tauschii) was created to explore for novel genes from T. turgidum and Ae. tauschii that can be used for common wheat improvement. In the present paper, research advances on the utilization of synthetic hexaploid wheat for wheat genetic improvement in China are reviewed. Over 200 synthetic hexaploid wheat (SHW) accessions from the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre (CIMMYT) were introduced into China since 1995. Four cultivars derived from these, Chuanmai 38, Chuanmai 42, Chuanmai 43 and Chuanmai 47, have been released in China. Of these, Chuanmai 42, with large kernels and resistance to stripe rust, had the highest average yield (> 6 t/ha) among all cultivars over two years in Sichuan provincial yield trials, outyielding the commercial check cultivar Chuanmai 107 by 22.7%. Meanwhile, by either artificial chromosome doubling via colchicine treatment or spontaneous chromosome doubling via a union of unreduced gametes (2n) from T. turgidum-Ae. tauschii hybrids, new SHW lines were produced in China. Mitotic-like meiosis might be the cytological mechanism of spontaneous chromosome doubling. SHW lines with genes for spontaneous chromosome doubling may be useful for producing new SHW-alien amphidiploids and double haploid in wheat genetic improvement. | Wuyun Yang Dengcai Liu Jun Li Lianquan Zhang Huiting Wei Xiaorong Hu Youliang Zheng Zhouhu He Yuchun Zou | 2009 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2009,36,9: | 18
Strengthening FCC-CoCrFeMnNi high entropy alloys by Mo addition显示文摘In order to strengthen the face-centered-cubic(FCC) type CoCrFeMnNi high entropy alloys(HEAs), different contents of Mo(0–16 at.%, similarly hereinafter) were alloyed. Phase evolution, microstructure, mechanical properties and related mechanism of these HEAs were systematically studied. The results show that sigma phase is appeared with addition of Mo, and the volume fraction of it increases gradually from 0 to 66% with increasing Mo content. It is found that Mo is enriched in sigma phase, which indicates that Mo element is beneficial to form sigma phase. Compressive testing shows that the yield strength of the alloys increases gradually from 216 to 765 MPa, while the fracture strain decreases from 50%(no fracture) to 19% with increasing of Mo. The alloy exhibits the best compressive performance when Mo content reaches 11%, the yield strength, fracture strength and fracture strain are 547 MPa, 2672 MPa and44% respectively. The increased volume fraction of sigma phase plays an important role in improving the compressive strength of(CoCrFeMnNi)_(100-x)Mo_xHEAs. | Gang Qin Ruirun Chen Huiting Zheng Hongze Fang Liang Wang Yanqing Su Jingjie Guo Hengzhi Fu | 2019 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,4: | 11
Recent advances and emerging trends in antiviral defense networking in rice显示文摘Plants and viruses coexist in the natural ecosystem for extended periods of time, interacting with each other and even coevolving, maintaining a dynamic balance between plant disease resistance and virus pathogenicity.During virus–host interactions, plants often exhibit abnormal growth and development. However, plants do not passively withstand virus attacks but have evolved sophisticated and effective defense mechanisms to resist, limit,or undermine virus infections. It is widely believed that the initial stage of infection features the most intense interactions between the virus and the host and the greatest variety of activated signal transduction pathways. This review describes the most recent findings in rice antiviral research and discusses a variety of rice antiviral molecular mechanisms, including those based on R genes and recessive resistance,RNA silencing, phytohormone signaling, autophagy and WUSmediated antiviral immunity. Finally,we discuss the challenges and future prospects of breeding rice for enhanced virus resistance. | Lu Wang Huiting Xie Xiaoyuan Zheng Jiasheng Chen Shuai Zhang Jianguo Wu | 2021 | The Crop Journal2021,9,3: | 1
Asian, regional, and national burdens of respiratory tract cancers and associated risk factors from 1990 to 2019:A systematic analysis for the global burden of disease study 2019显示文摘Background:Respiratory cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, but its statistics vary between the East and West. This study aimed to estimate the burdens of tracheal, bronchus, and lung(TBL)cancer and larynx cancer and their attributable risks from 1990 to 2019 in Asia, and at regional and national levels. Methods:This research evaluated the incidence, mortality, years lived with disability, years of life lost, and disability-adjusted life years(DALYs)for respiratory tract cancers using the Global Burden of Diseases,Injuries, and Risk Factors Study(GBD)2019 database.Age-standardized rates were calculated for TBL cancer from 1990 to 2019,adjusted for smoking and socio-demographic index(SDI).Deaths from TBL cancer and larynx cancer attributable to each risk factor were estimated for 33 Asian countries. Results:The age-standardized incidence and death rates for TBL cancer in Asia declined from 2010 to 2019,while the incidence rate of larynx cancer increased.Smoking was the leading specific risk factor for deaths from both TBL and larynx cancers. The burden of TBL cancer in Asian countries was influenced by SDI and smoking, particularly among males in Central Asia.Deaths,DALYs,and incidences of larynx cancer in East Asia had not changed significantly over the past 30 years, but showed slight downward trends in males and both sexes combined, and an upward trend in females in recent years. Conclusions:The past decade saw increases in numbers of incident cases and deaths from TBL cancer and larynx cancer in Asia.SDI and smoking were the main factors influencing the disease burden of TBL cancer in Asian countries. This study highlights the need for tailored cancer control programs to address the burden of respiratory tract cancers in different Asian countries. | Ran Zhong Xiuyu Cai Jianfu Li Peiling Chen Runchen Wang Xinting Li Feng Li Shan Xiong Caichen Li Huiting Wang Yang Xiang Shuting Zhan Ziwen Yu Haixuan Wang Chunyan Li Lixuan Lin Wenhai Fu Xin Zheng Shen Zhao Kang Zhang Jianxing He | 2023 | Chinese Medical Journal Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine2023,1,4: | 1
Prediction of coronavirus 3C-like protease cleavage sites using machine-learning algorithms显示文摘The coronavirus 3C-like(3CL)protease,a cysteine protease, plays an important role in viral infection and immune escape. However, there is still a lack of effective tools for determining the cleavage sites of the 3CL protease. This study systematically investigated the diversity of the cleavage sites of the coronavirus 3CL protease on the viral polyprotein, and found that the cleavage motif were highly conserved for viruses in the genera of Alphacoronavirus,Betacoronavirus and Gammacoronavirus.Strong residue preferences were observed at the neighboring positions of the cleavage sites.A random forest(RF)model was built to predict the cleavage sites of the coronavirus 3CL protease based on the representation of residues in cleavage motifs by amino acid indexes, and the model achieved an AUC of 0.96 in cross-validations.The RF model was further tested on an independent test dataset which were composed of cleavage sites on 99 proteins from multiple coronavirus hosts. It achieved an AUC of 0.95 and predicted correctly 80%of the cleavage sites.Then,1,352 human proteins were predicted to be cleaved by the 3CL protease by the RF model. These proteins were enriched in several GO terms related to the cytoskeleton, such as the microtubule, actin and tubulin. Finally,a webserver named 3CLP was built to predict the cleavage sites of the coronavirus 3CL protease based on the RF model.Overall, the study provides an effective tool for identifying cleavage sites of the 3CL protease and provides insights into the molecular mechanism underlying the pathogenicity of coronaviruses. | Huiting Chen Zhaozhong Zhu Ye Qiu Xingyi Ge Heping Zheng Yousong Peng | 2022 | Virologica Sinica2022,37,3: | 1
Rapid evaluation of heterologous chimeric RBD-dimer mRNA vaccine for currently-epidemic Omicron sub-variants as booster shot after inactivated vaccine显示文摘With continuous mutations of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),the severe immune escape of Omicron sub-variants urges the development of next-generation broad-spectrum vaccines, especially as booster jabs after high-level vaccination coverage of inactivated vaccines in China and many other countries.Previously,we developed a coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)protein subunit vaccine ZF2001?based on the tandem homo-prototype receptor-binding domain(RBD)-dimer of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. We upgraded the antigen into a hetero-chimeric prototype(PT)-Beta or Delta-BA.1 RBD-dimer to broaden the cross-protection efficacy and prove its efficiency with protein subunit and mRNA vaccine platforms.Herein,we further explored the hetero-chimeric RBD-dimer mRNA vaccines and evaluated their broad-spectrum activities as booster jabs following two doses of inactivated vaccine(Ⅳ)in mice. Our data demonstrated that the chi-meric vaccines significantly boosted neutralizing antibody levels and specific T-cell responses against the vari-ants,and PT-Beta was superior to Delta-BA.1 RBD as a booster in mice, shedding light on the antigen design for the next-generation COVID-19 vaccines. | Qian Chen Pei Du Yuxuan Han Xuehui Ma Rong Zhang Xiaoyu Rong Xu Zhao Renyi Ma Huiting Yang Anqi Zheng Qingrui Huang Jinghua Yan Hui Wang Xin Zhao Lianpan Dai George F.Gao Qihui Wang | 2023 | Biosafety and Health2023,5,2: | 1
Formation mechanism of inherent spatial heterogeneity of microstructure and mechanical properties of NiTi SMA prepared by laser directed energy deposition显示文摘Ni51Ti49 at.%bulk was additively manufactured by laser-directed energy deposition(DED)to reveal the microstructure evolution, phase distribution, and mechanical properties. It is found that the localized remelting, reheating, and heat accumulation during DED leads to the spatial heterogeneous distribution of columnar crystal and equiaxed crystal,a gradient distribution of Ni4Ti3 precipitates along the building direction, and preferential formation of Ni4Ti3 precipitates in the columnar zone. The austenite transformation finish temperature(Af)varies from-12.65℃(Z=33 mm)to 60.35℃(Z=10 mm),corresponding to tensile yield strength(σ0.2)changed from 120±30 MPa to 570±20 MPa,and functional properties changed from shape memory effect to superelasticity at room temperature. The sample in the Z=20.4 mm height has the best plasticity of 9.6%and the best recoverable strain of 4.2%.This work provided insights and guidelines for the spatial characterization of DEDed NiTi. | MengJie Luo Ruidi Li Dan Zheng JingTao Kang HuiTing Wu ShengHua Deng PengDa Niu | 2023 | International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2023,5,3: | 0
Rapid field testing of mercury pollution by designed fluorescent biosensor and its cells-alginate hydrogel-based paper assay显示文摘With increasing industrial activities, mercury has been largely discharged into environment and caused serious environmental problems. The growing level of mercury pollution has become a huge threat to human health due to its significant biotoxicity. Therefore, the simple and fast means for on-site monitoring discharged mercury pollution are highly necessary to protect human beings from its pernicious effects in time.Herein,a'turn off'fluorescent biosensor(mCherry L199 C)for sensing Hg2+was successfully designed based on direct modification of the chromophore environment of fluorescent protein mCherry. For rapid screening and characterization, the designed variant of mCherry(mCherry L199 C)was directly expressed on outer-membrane of Escherichia coli cells by cell surface display technique. The fluorescent biosensor was characterized to have favorable response to Hg2+at micromole level among other metal ions and over a broad pH range.Further, the cells of the fluorescent biosensor were encapsulated in alginate hydrogel to develop the cells-alginate hydrogel-based paper. The cells-alginate hydrogel-based paper could detect mercury pollution in 5 min with simple operation process and inexpensive equipment, and it could keep fluorescence and activity stable at 4℃ for 24 hr,which would be a high-throughput screening tool in preliminarily reporting the presence of mercury pollution in natural setting. | Yanan Zheng Liudan Wei Linwei Duan Fangfang Yang Guixiang Huang Tianyi Xiao Min Wei Yanling Liang Huiting Yang Zhipeng Li Dan Wang | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,8: | 0
Power Grid Fault Diagnosis Based on Deep Pyramid Convolutional Neural Network显示文摘Existing power grid fault diagnosis methods relyon manual experience to design diagnosis models, lack theability to extract fault knowledge, and are difficult to adaptto complex and changeable engineering sites. Considering thissituation, this paper proposes a power grid fault diagnosismethod based on a deep pyramid convolutional neural networkfor the alarm information set. This approach uses the deepfeature extraction ability of the network to extract fault featureknowledge from alarm information texts and achieve end-to-endfault classification and fault device identification. First, a deeppyramid convolutional neural network model for extracting theoverall characteristics of fault events is constructed to identifyfault types. Second, a deep pyramidal convolutional neuralnetwork model for alarm information text is constructed, thetext description characteristics associated with alarm informationtexts are extracted, the key information corresponding to faultsin the alarm information set is identified, and suspicious faultydevices are selected. Then, a fault device identification strategythat integrates fault-type and time sequence priorities is proposedto identify faulty devices. Finally, the actual fault cases and thefault cases generated by the simulation are studied, and theresults verify the effectiveness and practicability of the methodpresented in this paper. | Xu Zhang Huiting Zhang Dongying Zhang Yixian Wang Ruiting Ding Yuchuan Zheng Yongxu Zhang | 2023 | CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2023,9,6: | 0
