1Factors predicting sensory and motor recovery after the repair of upper limb peripheral nerve injuries显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the factors associated with sensory and motor recovery after the repair of upper limb peripheral nerve injuries. DATA SOURCES: The online PubMed database was searched for English articles describing outcomes after the repair of median, ulnar, radial, and digital nerve injuries in humans with a publication date between 1 January 1990 and 16 February 2011. STUDY SELECTION: The following types of article were selected:(1) clinical trials describing the repair of median, ulnar, radial, and digital nerve injuries published in English; and(2) studies that reported sufficient patient information, including age, mechanism of injury, nerve injured, injury location, defect length, repair time, repair method, and repair materials. SPSS 13.0 software was used to perform univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses and to investigate the patient and intervention factors associated with outcomes. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Sensory function was assessed using the Mackinnon-Dellon scale and motor function was assessed using the manual muscle test. Satisfactory motor recovery was defined as grade M4 or M5, and satisfactory sensory recovery was defined as grade S3+ or S4.RESULTS: Seventy-one articles were included in this study. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that repair time, repair materials, and nerve injured were independent predictors of outcome after the repair of nerve injuries(P < 0.05), and that the nerve injured was the main factor affecting the rate of good to excellent recovery. 2Effectiveness of Catch-Up Vaccinations after COVID-19 Containment--China,2020显示文摘Introduction:In the early stages of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)epidemic in China,the highest level of public health emergency response(Level 1 Response)was launched in all province-level administrative divisions(PLADs)across the country.Provision of vaccination services was selectively suspended due to the physical distancing and gathering restrictions required of Level 1 Response.The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on vaccination services and the effectiveness of selective vaccination service suspension and catch-up vaccinations in China.Methods:Vaccine doses administered,routine vaccination coverage levels,catch-up vaccine doses administered,and coverage levels after the catch-up campaign were determined from individual vaccination records in sampled clinics,standard routine immunization administrative coverage reports,and catch-up vaccination activity reports submitted by PLADs between October 2019 and October 2020.Results:National Immunization Program(NIP)and non-NIP vaccine doses administered in sampled clinics decreased by 80% and 90%,respectively,compared with doses administered before the COVID-19 pandemic.Coverage with the birth dose of hepatitis B vaccine(HepB1)and the Bacillus Calmette-Guérin vaccine(BCG)—two vaccinations recommended to continue throughout the epidemic due to their timecritical nature—were maintained at over 85%,while coverage of other NIP vaccines decreased to below 60%by February 2020.Catch-up vaccination coverage of the 29 PLADs,excluding Xinjiang and Xizang(Tibet),began in April 2020 and exceeded 90%;Hubei catch-up coverage was 95% by October 2020.Conclusions and Implications for Public Health Practice:The COVID-19 pandemic had a great impact on China’s vaccination services.During the epidemic and time of local transmission of the coronavirus,HepB1,BCG,rabies vaccine for postexposure prophylaxis,and tetanus antitoxin(TAT)for wound prophylaxis were maintained at high levels.Of the 69 million vaccine doses postponed during the time of local transmission of the coronavirus,94% were administered in the catch-up campaign.China’s pandemic immunization practices may provide evidence for other countries’immunization programs.Jing Wu Wenzhou Yu Lei Cao Lingsheng Cao Lance Rodewald Jiakai Ye Yifan Song Li Li Xiaoxue Liu Ning Wen Fuzhen Wang Lixin Hao Yixing Li Hui Zheng Keli Li Chao Ma Dan Wu Yanmin Liu Guomin Zhang Zhijie An Huaqing Wang Zundong Yin 2020China CDC weekly2020,2,50:6

5A rain-type adaptive optical flow method and its application in tropical cyclone rainfall nowcasting显示文摘A rain-type adaptive pyramid Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi(A-PKLT)optical flow method for radar echo extrapolation is proposed.This method introduces a rain-type classification algorithm that can classify radar echoes into six types:convective,stratiform,surrounding convective,isolated convective core,isolated convective fringe,and weak echoes.Then,new schemes are designed to optimize specific parameters of the PKLT optical flow based on the rain type of the echo.At the same time,the gradients of radar reflectivity in the fringe positions corresponding to all types of rain echoes are increased.As a result,corner points that are characteristic points used for PKLT optical flow tracking in the surrounding area will be increased.Therefore,more motion vectors are purposefully obtained in the whole radar echo area.This helps to describe the motion characteristics of the precipitation more precisely.Then,the motion vectors corresponding to each type of rain echo are merged,and a denser motion vector field is generated by an interpolation algorithm on the basis of merged motion vectors.Finally,the dense motion vectors are used to extrapolate rain echoes into 0-60-min nowcasts by a semi-Lagrangian scheme.Compared with other nowcasting methods for four landfalling typhoons in or near Shanghai,the new optical flow method is found to be more accurate than the traditional cross-correlation and optical flow methods,particularly showing a clear improvement in the nowcasting of convective echoes on the spiral rainbands of typhoons.Jiakai ZHU Jianhua DAI 2022Frontiers of Earth Science2022,16,2:3
6Detection of citrus Huanglongbing based on image feature extraction and two-stage BPNN modeling显示文摘Citrus Huanglongbing(HLB),which is spread by the citrus psyllid,is the most destructive disease of citrus industry.While no effective cure for the disease has been reported,detection and removal of infected trees can prevent spreading.Symptoms indicative of HLB can be present in both HLB-positive trees and HLB-negative trees,making identification of infected trees difficult.A detection method for citrus HLB based on image feature extraction and two-stage back propagation neural network(BPNN)modeling was investigated in this research.The identification method for eight different classes including healthy,HLB and non-HLB symptoms was studied.Thirty-four statistical features including color and texture were extracted for each leaf sample,following the two-stage BPNN to model and identify HLB-positive leaves from HLB-negative leaves.The discrimination accuracy can reach approximately 92%which shows that this method based on visual image processing can perform well in detecting citrus HLB.Deng Xiaoling Yubin Lan Xing Xiaqiong Mei Huilan Liu Jiakai Hong Tiansheng 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,6:2

8Molecular cloning, characterization and expression analysis of a catalase gene in Paphia textile显示文摘Catalase is an important antioxidant protein that can protect organisms against various forms of oxidative damage by eliminating hydrogen peroxide. In this study, the catalase c DNA of Paphia textile(Pt CAT) was cloned using RTPCR and rapid amplification of c DNA ends(RACE). Pt CAT is 1 921 bp long and consists of a 5′-UTR of 50 bp, a 3′-UTR of 349 bp, and an ORF of 1 542 bp that encodes 513 amino acids with a molecular weight of 58.4 k D and an estimated isoelectric point of 8.2. Sequence alignment indicated that Pt CAT contained a highly conserved catalytic signature motif(^(61)FNRERIPERVVHAKGAG^(77)), a proximal heme-ligand signature sequence(^(352)RLFSYSDP^(359)), and three catalytic amino acid residues(H^(72), N^(145), and Y^(356)). Pt CAT also contains two putative N-glycosylation sites(^(34)NKT^(36) and ^(437)NFT^(439)) and a peroxisome-targeting signal(^(511)AQL^(513)). Furthermore, Pt CAT shares 53%–88% identity and 29%–89% similarity with other catalase amino acid sequences. Pt CAT m RNA was present in all tested organs, including the heart, digestive gland, adductor muscle, gonad, gill, and mantle, but its expression was highest in the digestive gland. High-temperature-induced stress produced two expression patterns of Pt CAT m RNA: first, an initial up-regulation followed by a down-regulation in the heart, digestive gland, and gonad and, second, consistent down-regulation in all other organs. 11Genome-wide profiling of circular RNAs,alternative splicing,and R-loops in stem-differentiating xylem of Populus trichocarpa显示文摘Circular RNAs(circRNAs)are a recently dis-covered type of non‐coding RNA derived from pre‐mRNAs.R‐loops consist of a DNA:RNA hybrid andthe associated single‐stranded DNA.InArabi-dopsis thaliana,circRNA:DNA R‐loops regulatealternative splicing(AS)ofSEPALLATA3(SEP3).However,the occurrence and functions ofcircRNAs and R‐loops inPopulus trichocarpaarelargely unexplored.Here,we performed circRNA‐enriched sequencing in the stem‐differentiatingxylem(SDX)ofP.trichocarpaand identified 2,742distinct circRNAs,including circ‐CESA4,circ‐IRX7,and circ‐GUX1,which are generated from genesinvolved in cellulose,and hemicellulose biosyn-thesis,respectively.To investigate the roles ofcircRNAs in modulating alternative splicing(AS),we detected 7,836 AS events using PacBio Iso‐Seq and identified 634 circRNAs that overlappedwith 699 AS events.Furthermore,using DNA:RNAhybrid immunoprecipitation followed by se-quencing(DRIP‐seq),we identified 8,932 R‐looppeaks that overlapped with 181 circRNAs and 672AS events.Notably,several SDX‐related circRNAsoverlapped with R‐loop peaks,pointing to theirpossible roles in modulating AS in SDX.Indeed,overexpressing circ‐IRX7increased the levels ofR‐loop structures and decreased the frequency ofintron retention in linearIRX7transcripts.Thisstudy provides a valuable R‐loop atlas resourceand uncovers the interplay between circRNAs andAS in SDX ofP.trichocarpa.Xuqing Liu Yubang Gao Jiakai Liao Miao Miao Kai Chen Feihu Xi Wentao Wei Huihui Wang Yongsheng Wang XiXu Anireddy S.N.Reddy Lianfeng Gu 2021Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,7:1

13Particulate matter assessment of a wetland in Beijing显示文摘To increase the knowledge on the particulate matter of a wetland in Beijing, an experimental study on the concentration and composition of PM10 and PM2.5was implemented in Beijing Olympic Forest Park from 2013 to 2014. This study analyzed the meteorological factors and deposition fluxes at different heights and in different periods in the wetlands. The results showed that the mean mass concentrations of PM10 and PM2.5were the highest at 06:00–09:00 and the lowest at 15:00–18:00. And the annual concentration of PM10 and PM2.5in the wetland followed the order of dry period(winter) > normal water period(spring and autumn) > wet period(summer), with the concentration in the dry period significantly higher than that in the normal water and wet periods. The chemical composition of PM2.5in the wetlands included NH4+, K+, Na+, Mg2+, SO42-, NO3-, and Cl-, which respectively accounted for 12.7%, 1.0%, 0.8%, 0.7%, 46.6%, 33.2%, and 5.1% of the average annual composition. The concentration of PM10 and PM2.5in the wetlands had a significant positive correlation with relative humidity, a negative correlation with wind speed, and an insignificant negative correlation with temperature and radiation.
