1Insight into room-temperature catalytic oxidation of NO by CrO_2(110):A DFT study显示文摘The NO oxidation processes on CrO_2(110) was investigated by virtue of DFT + U calculation together with microkinetic analysis, aiming to uncover the reaction mechanism and activity-limiting factors for CrO_2 catalyst. It was found that NO oxidation on CrO_2(110) has to be triggered with the lattice Obri involved(Mars-van Krevelen mechanism) rather than the Langmuir-Hinshelwood path occurring at the Cr_(5 c) sites alone. Specifically, the optimal reaction path was identified. Quantitatively, the microkinetic analysis showed that CrO_2(110) can exhibit a high turnover rate of 0.978 s^(-1) for NO oxidation at room temperature.Such an activity could originate from the bifunctional synergetic catalytic mechanism, in which the Cr_(5c)sites can exclusively adsorb NO and the Obri is very reactive and provides oxidative species. However, it is worth noting that, as the reactive Obri tightly binds NO_2, the nitrate species was found to be difficult removed and constituted the key poisoning species, eventually limiting the overall activity of CrO_2. 2Frequency-domain diagonal extension imaging显示文摘The pixel size of a charge-coupled device(CCD)camera plays a major role in the image resolution,and the square pixels are attributed to the physical anisotropy of the sampling frequency.We synthesize the high sampling frequency directions from multiple frames acquired with different angles to enhance the resolution by 1.4×over conventional CCD orthogonal sampling.To directly demonstrate the improvement of frequency-domain diagonal extension(FDDE)microscopy,lens-free microscopy is used,as its resolution is dominantly determined by the pixel size.We demonstrate the resolution enhancement with a mouse skin histological specimen and a clinical blood smear sample.Further,FDDE is extended to lens-based photography with an ISO 12233 resolution target.This method paves a new way for enhancing the image resolution for a variety of imaging techniques in which the resolution is primarily limited by the sampling pixel size,for example,microscopy,photography,and spectroscopy.Shan Jiang Meiling Guan Jiamin Wu Guocheng Fang Xinzhu Xu Dayong Jin Zhen Liu Kebin Shi Fan Bai Shu Wang Peng Xi 2020Advanced Photonics2020,2,3:3
3Efficacy of moxibustion by stimulating acupoints of Danzhong(CV 17) and Ganshu(BL 18) on hyperplasia of mammary gland in rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy of moxibustion, through stimulating acupoints of Danzhong(CV 17) and Ganshu(BL 18) in rats with hyperplasia of mammary gland(HMG) which induced by estrogen and progestogen.METHODS: Thirty female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into saline control group,HMG model group, and HMG moxibustion group with 10 in each group. Saline control was the group injected by saline. HMG model were created by injection of estrogen and progestogen. Moxibustion group was also injected of estrogen and progesto-gen with moxibustion at the same time. The Changes of nipple diameter and height were measured.The rats' skin temperature was recorded by an infrared thermal camera at the nipples, mammary areas,Danzhong(CV 17) and Ganshu(BL 18). Pathological changes of mammary gland in rats were also observed under light microscope.RESULTS: The diameter and height of the nipples in model group were prominently bigger and higher than that in control group(P < 0.01). The diameter and height in moxibustion group were prominently smaller and lower than that in model group(P < 0.01), and there was no significant difference between moxibustion group and control group.Compared with control group, skin temperature of the nipples, mammary area, and acupoints Danzhong(CV 17) and Ganshu(BL 18) decreased prominently in model group(P < 0.01-0.05). Compared with model group, skin temperature of that in moxibustion group increased prominently(P <0.05).CONCLUSION: Treatment with moxibustion can effectively decrease the HMG rats' nipple diameter and height, and increase the skin temperature in HMG model rats at the nipples, mammary areas,Danzhong(CV 17) and Ganshu(BL 18). 8Nano-single-crystal-constructed submicron MnCO_(3) hollow spindles enabled by solid precursor transition combined Ostwald ripening in situ on graphene toward exceptional interfacial and capacitive lithium storage显示文摘Hollow structuring has been identified as an effective strategy to enhance the cycling stability of electrodes for rechargeable batteries due to the outstanding volume expansion buffering efficiency,which motivates ardent pursuing on the synthetic approaches of hollow materials.Herein,an intriguing route,combining solid precursor transition and Ostwald ripening(SPTOR),is developed to craft nano single-crystal(SC)-constructed MnCO_(3) submicron hollow spindles homogeneously encapsulated in a reduced graphene oxide matrix(MnCO_(3) SMHSs/rGO).It is noteworthy that the H-bonding interaction between Mn_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles(NPs)and oxygen-containing groups on GO promotes uniform anchoring of Mn_(3)O_(4) NPs on GO,mild reductant ascorbic acid triggers the progressive solid-to-solid transition from Mn_(3)O_(4) NPs to MnCO_(3) submicron solid spindles(SMSSs)in situ on GO,and the Ostwald ripening process induces the gradual dissolution of interior polycrystals of MnCO_(3) SMSSs and subsequent recrystallization on surface SCs of MnCO_(3) SMHSs.Remarkably,MnCO_(3) SMHSs/rGO delivers a 500th lithium storage capacity of 2023 mAh g^(-1) at 1000 mAg^(-1),which is 10 times higher than that of MnCO_(3) microspheres/rGO fabricated from a conventional Mn^(2+)salt precursor(202 mAh g^(-1)).The ultrahigh capacity and ultralong lifespan of MnCO_(3) SMHSs/rGO can be primarily attributed to the superior reaction kinetics and reversibility combined with exceptional interfacial and capacitive lithium storage capability,enabled by the fast ion/electron transfer,large specific surface area,and robust electrode pulverization inhibition efficacy.Moreover,fascinating in-depth lithium storage reactions of MnCO_(3) are observed such as the oxidation of Mn^(2+)in MnCO_(3) to Mn^(3+)in charge process after long-term cycles and the further lithiation of Li_(2)CO_(3) in discharge process.As such,the Carbon Energy.SPTOR approach may represent a viable strategy for crafting various hollow functional materials with metastable nanomaterials as precursors.Jiamin Fei Shiqiang Zhao Xiaoxu Bo Furong Xie Guanghui Li Ebrahim-Alkhalil MAAhmed Qingcheng Zhang Huile Jin Zhiqun Lin 2023Carbon Energy2023,5,8:0
9Inhibition of PRMT5 by market drugs as a novel cancer therapeutic avenue显示文摘Market drugs,suchas Foodand Drug Administration(FDA)or European Medicines Agency(EMA)-approved drugs for specific indications provide opportunities for repurposing for newer therapeutics.This potentially saves resources invested in clinical trials that verify drug safety and tolerance in humans prior to alternative indication approval.Protein arginine methyltransferase 5(PRMT5)overexpression has been linked to promoting the tumor phenotype in several cancers,including pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC),colorectal cancer(CRC),and breast cancer(BC),making PRMT5 an important target for cancer therapy.Previously,we showed that PRMT5-mediated methylation of the nuclear factor(NF)-kB,partially contributes to its constitutive activation observed in cancers.In this study,we utilized an AlphaLiSA-based high-throughput screening method adapted in our lab,and identified one FDA-approved drug,Candesartan cilexetil(Can,used in hypertension treatment)and one EMA-approved drug,Cloperastine hydrochloride(Clo,used in cough treatment)that had significant PRMT5-inhibitory activity,and their anti-tumor properties were validated using cancer phenotypic assays in vitro.Furthermore,PRMT5 selective inhibition of methyltransferase activity was confirmed by reduction of both NF-kB methylation and its subsequent activation upon drug treatment.Using in silico prediction,we identified critical residues on PRMT5 targeted by these drugs that may interfere with its enzymatic activity.Finally,Clo and Can treatment have exhibited marked reduction in tumor growth in vivo.Overall,we provide basis for pursuing repurposing Clo and Can as anti-PRMT5 cancer therapies.Our study offers potential safe and fast repurposing of previously unknown PRMT5 inhibitors into clinical practice.Lakshmi Prabhu Matthew Martin Lan Chen Ozlem Demir Jiamin Jin Xiumei Huang Aishat Motolani Mengyao Sun Guanglong Jiang Harikrishna Nakshatri Melissa L.Fishel Steven Sun Ahmad Safa Rommie E.Amaro Mark R.Kelley Yunlong Liu Zhong-Yin Zhang Tao Lu 2023Genes & Diseases2023,10,1:0
