| 1 | A novel bioremediation strategy for petroleum hydrocarbon pollutants using salt tolerant Corynebacterium variabile HRJ4 and biochar显示文摘The present work aimed to develop a novel strategy to bioremediate the petroleum hydrocarbon contaminants in the environment.Salt tolerant bacterium was isolated from Dagang oilfield,China and identified as Corynebacterium variabile HRJ4 based on 16 S r RNA gene sequence analysis.The bacterium had a high salt tolerant capability and biochar was developed as carrier for the bacterium.The bacteria with biochar were most effective in degradation of n-alkanes(C16,C18,C19,C26,C28) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(NAP,PYR) mixture.The result demonstrated that immobilization of C.variabile HRJ4 with biochar showed higher degradation of total petroleum hydrocarbons(THPs) up to 78.9%after 7-day of incubation as compared to the free leaving bacteria.The approach of this study will be helpful in clean-up of petroleum-contamination in the environments through bioremediation process using eco-friendly and cost effective materials like biochar. | Hairong Zhang Jingchun Tang Lin Wang Juncheng Liu Ranjit Gajanan Gurav Kejing Sun | 2016 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,9: | 25 |

| 4 | Influencing factors of disinfection byproducts formation during chloramination of Cyclops metabolite solutions显示文摘Effects of reaction time, chlorine dosage, pH and temperature on the formation of disinfection byproducts(DBPs), were investigated during the chloramination of Cyclops metabolite solutions. The results showed that some species of DBPs like trichloromethane(TCM), dichloroacetic acid(DCAA) and trichloroacetic acid(TCAA) could accumulate to their respective stable values with a progressive elevation in reaction time and monochloramine concentration. And 1,1,1-2-trichloropropanone(1,1,1-TCP) content decreased correspondingly with a continuous increase of reaction time. The amounts of chloral hydrate(CH), chloropicrin(TCNM), 1,1,1-TCP and DCAA firstly increased and then decreased with increasing monochloramine doses. Higher temperature resulted in a decrease of CH, dichloroacetonitrile(DCAN), 1,1-dichloropropanone(1,1-DCP), 1,1,1-TCP, DCAA and TCAA concentration. pH affected the formation of the different DBPs distinctly. | 11 | Nonlinear characterization and performance optimization for broadband bistable energy harvester显示文摘As two crucial indicators of bistable energy harvesting performance,band width and power amplitude are simultaneously investigated for obtaining the synergy effect.Toward this goal,a nonlinear electromechanical-coupled distributed-parameter model of the bistable piezoelectric energy harvester is established.Based on the electromechanical decoupled method,approximate higher-order analytical solutions of the beam displacement,harvested power and effective bandwidth are derived.The cubic-function discriminant of the analytical solution is introduced to determine the nonlinear excitation-frequency boundaries of multiple solutions and power peak.The stability of the multiple solutions is analyzed through Jacobi matrix of the modulation equation.Superharmonic resonance is notified.Upward and downward sweep experiments and numerical solutions of time history curves,phase portraits and power spectra confirm the analytical findings.To realize optimized broadband energy harvesting,the parametric study on the coefficients of the linear and cubic elastic external forces with the corresponding optimal load resistance is performed.For the nonlinear hardening case,more positive linear coefficient is preferred.For the nonlinear softening case,the cubic coefficient slightly larger than its optimal value is recommended at each given linear coefficient.By tuning the load resistance and linear and cubic coefficients of the external force,broadband bistable energy harvesting with optimized power is realized. | Ting Tan Zhimiao Yan Kejing Ma Fengrui Liu Linchuan Zhao Wenming Zhang | 2020 | Acta Mechanica Sinica2020,36,3: | 1 |

| 16 | A novel multimodal prediction model based on DNA methylation biomarkers and low-dose computed tomography images for identifying early-stage lung cancer显示文摘Objective:DNA methylation alterations are early events in carcinogenesis and immune signalling in lung cancer.This study aimed to develop a model based on short stature homeobox 2 gene (SHOX2)/prostaglandin E receptor 4gene (PTGER4) DNA methylation in plasma,appearance subtype of pulmonary nodules (PNs) and low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) images to distinguish early-stage lung cancers.Methods:We developed a multimodal prediction model with a training set of 257 individuals.The performance of the multimodal prediction model was further validated in an independent validation set of 42 subjects.In addition,we explored the association between SHOX2/PTGER4 DNA methylation and driver gene mutations in lung cancer based on data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) portal.Results:There were significant differences between the early-stage lung cancers and benign groups in the methylation levels.The area under a receiver operator characteristic curve (AUC) of SHOX2 in patients with solid nodules,mixed ground-glass opacity nodules and pure ground-glass opacity nodules were 0.693,0.497 and 0.864,respectively,while the AUCs of PTGER4 were 0.559,0.739 and 0.619,respectively.With the highest AUC of0.894,the novel multimodal prediction model outperformed the Mayo Clinic model (0.519) and LDCT-based deep learning model (0.842) in the independent validation set.Database analysis demonstrated that patients with SHOX2/PTGER4 DNA hypermethylation were enriched in TP53 mutations.Conclusions:The present multimodal prediction model could more efficiently distinguish early-stage lung cancer from benign PNs.A prognostic index based on DNA methylation and lung cancer driver gene alterations may separate the patients into groups with good or poor prognosis. | Jing Zhang Haohua Yao Chunliu Lai Xue Sun Xiujuan Yang Shurong Li Yubiao Guo Junhang Luo Zhihua Wen Kejing Tang | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2023,35,5: | 0 |

| 19 | C9orf72 poly-GA proteins impair neuromuscular transmission显示文摘Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS) is a devastating motoneuron disease,in which lower motoneurons lose control of skeletal muscles.Degeneration of neuromuscular junctions(NMJs) occurs at the initial stage of ALS.Dipeptide repeat proteins(DPRs) from G4C2repeat-associated non-ATG(RAN) translation are known to cause C9orf72-associated ALS(C9-ALS).However,DPR inclusion burdens are weakly correlated with neurodegenerative areas in C9-ALS patients,indicating that DPRs may exert cell non-autonomous effects,in addition to the known intracellular pathological mechanisms.Here,we report that poly-GA,the most abundant form of DPR in C9-ALS,is released from cells.Local administration of poly-GA proteins in peripheral synaptic regions causes muscle weakness and impaired neuromuscular transmission in vivo.The NMJ structure cannot be maintained,as evidenced by the fragmentation of postsynaptic acetylcholine receptor(AChR) clusters and distortion of presynaptic nerve terminals.Mechanistic study demonstrated that extracellular poly-GA sequesters soluble Agrin ligands and inhibits Agrin-MuSK signaling.Our findings provide a novel cell non-autonomous mechanism by which poly-GA impairs NMJs in C9-ALS.Thus,targeting NMJs could be an early therapeutic intervention for C9-ALS. | Wen-Yo Tu Wentao Xu Jianmin Zhang Shuyuan Qi Lei Bai Chengyong Shen Kejing Zhang | 2023 | Zoological Research2023,44,2: | 0 |
